I'm glad to hear the doctor gave you a scan olivers try and rest and don't over do it! Is there one more space on that whinge couch? I have been feeling awful for the last 3 day.. I can't really eat much and I feel sick all the time.. is anyone else still feeling sick? I never had really bad morning sickness but I feel the worse I have felt all pregnancy 😬😬😔

Fluffywallow · 17/04/2017 21:13

So jealous emem!!! I literally feel like I'm carrying around two babies BlushBlushso.bloody.bunged.up.

Glad the scan went well Olivers. Hope you're getting some rest now.

Amz sorry you're feeling rough Flowers

SuziePink · 18/04/2017 07:55

Glad to hear everything is ok Olivers.

Last night while in bed I had the usual bubbly type of sensation but then I felt a couple of sharper, more definite movements. I don't want to look it up and convince myself one way or the other so does this sound like the beginning of kicking to anyone? I'll be 20 weeks on Friday.

Heyitsholly · 18/04/2017 09:04

Sounds like it to me suziepink.
Still no movements here but everyones saying they can see my bump now so its atleast growing. 2 months is way too long to go to check baby is ok. Ive convinced myself something is wrong 100s of times 😕 Tempted to buy a doppler but im convinced im the one who will only find my own heartbeat!

emem24442 · 18/04/2017 12:26

Feeling a bit anxious at the moment, haven't seen the midwife for a while. They couldn't fit me in for my 16 weeks check up so its more like 20 week check up. I also have my 20 week scan next week, going to found out what we're having (very excited). It is my first pregnancy so i don't really know what I'm looking for in baby movements. Just nervous that everything going to be ok at my check up and scan.

oliversmummy26 · 18/04/2017 12:48

Jumping on the moaning wagon here - heartburn is driving me insane!!! I have gone up to 3 pillows at night, which I think is helping, and taking Zantac/Ranitidine 2-3 times a day at the moment...

So pleased to hear that I'm not the only one not experiencing the "joys" of pregnancy! DH asked me last night when am I supposed to start feeling all lush, I said 4 weeks ago!!

19+2 today

SuziePink · 18/04/2017 12:49

emem it's my first baby too and I only really feel movement when I'm in bed at night. It feels pretty similar to wind really or maybe like when you've eaten something you shouldn't have and you start getting weird sensations as your guts complain...

oliversmummy26 · 18/04/2017 14:04

For those suffering with constipation, GP prescribed me lactulose when I suffered in my last pregnancy, worked a treat! You don't need a prescription either and can just buy it over the counter for a few quid...might be worth a shot?

SuziePink · 18/04/2017 17:00

You can also take some Optibac supplements and Lepicol which is pure fibre and probiotics. All says suitable for pregnancy.

Lules · 18/04/2017 17:30

I have bad heartburn too olivers. At the moment calcium carbonate (boots own brand stuff) is working fine for me atm but last time I got prescribed omeprazole and it was amazing. I could eat spicy food!

Got in contact with my last hospital to ask about the birth reflections clinic to go through my last birth to help me decide on VBAC or not but they only do them within a year of birth and it's been 18 months. I'm so annoyed. They say I can still have a meeting with them but I wish I'd known.

ememem84 · 18/04/2017 17:34

Spent today at work and have eaten so much fruit and veg. I am super fibrous today. Hooray! Hoping this along with fibre enhanced drink makes things more regular.

Also bought more pregnacare vitamins. I stopped them and the constipation started. Conicidence....?

SuziePink · 18/04/2017 18:13

I've been taking omeprazole on and off for years and it's great... except when it doesn't work! I have to have small meals, not eat late, and have Gaviscon on standby.

What's VBAC?

LouLou030783 · 18/04/2017 18:22

Been on holiday hence so quiet hope everyone is ok and constipation/heartburn issues have resolved

LouLou030783 · 18/04/2017 18:25

Olivers glad all is ok I had 2 bleeds at the beg of pregnancy due to subhoronic haemorrhage and cervical ectropian think those are right spellings so try not to worry too much although I know that's easier said than done x

Fluffywallow · 18/04/2017 18:39

Thanks for the constipation tips, a trip to boots is needed I think!

Lules that's annoying - I had an appt with them 3 months post birth and have another one next month at 2.5 yrs post birth - but this one is because if a referral from a consultant, do you have a consultant? If so maybe you can ask them for a referral.

OkyDoke · 18/04/2017 19:11

Vbac ... vaginal birth after csection!

SuziePink · 18/04/2017 19:14

Ahh... thank you. Will now have to reread all the messages about it!

I take it there's some medical stuff about once you have a c-section it's more difficult/risky to have a vaginal birth?

LouLou030783 · 18/04/2017 19:27

Yeah because there's a chance of the scar tissue reopening it happened to a girl on my last bus think her labour ended up very frightening

Travelgeek · 18/04/2017 19:47

Evening ladies. Not much to report here but checking in to say I'm just about keeping up with the thread. Have eaten too much easter chocolate today so feel a bit sick but otherwise no issues here. Spent too much time today avoiding painting the bathroom or reading general election commentary by reading NICE guidelines on childbirth and Royal College of Midwives evidence led guidance. Feel like I know a bit more about the potential eventualities in theory even if I can't know what will happen in practice.

SuziePink · 18/04/2017 20:47

Well if you're going to feel sick it might as well be for chocolate! Every time I hear our dear PM speak I have this sudden urge to hit something...

Is this what you've been reading? I'm a geek at heart so more info=betterer.

Frillyhorseyknickers · 18/04/2017 20:58

Evening all. All snuggled up ready to read "expecting better". Still feeling flabby and not at all pregnant right now. 17+ 3 - where's my fucking glow?!

Hi all feeling very pregnant today. Uncomfortable and tired - a little preview into the third trimester Confused

Feeling positive generally about the birth, it's my second baby and first birth was pretty awful but doing lots of reading and positive stuff to try to have a better time

Going so fast too!

Travelgeek · 18/04/2017 21:51

That's the one Suzie. I started with intrapartum care for healthy women and babies. I'll read the c-section and induction ones too. I like seeing about studies that are behind the guidance so the short RCM docs were good too. Not all academic studies are created equal!

Frilly, just googled it. That sounds really interesting. Let us know how you find it.

I definitely feels like its going quickly right now badger, but I suspect the last few weeks will drag!

unhindered · 19/04/2017 07:39

Thank you fluffy I read an article on it but haven't actually watched the documentary!

I felt really awful on Monday but I think it was brought on by a headache (and my husbands driving) 4head soon got rid of it thankfully!

I've only been a tiny bit bunged up but normally it's the opposite because I have ibs so it's quite nice for a change Blush I've been sneezing a lot and occasional runny nose, wasn't sure if it's just hayfever made worse by pregnancy or just a random side effect!

Weirdly I'm off chocolate a bit! More into citrusy things but been eating lemon cakes and things.

Thought I felt a tiny movement last weds but definitely felt something Monday night, it was like a tiny sharp pain followed by what felt like her rolling! It was like a twist feeling, very strange! Would love to feel her more often so I don't have to worry so much though!

20 wk scan on may 9th so counting down the days

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 19/04/2017 07:55

Morning all.
Haven't commented much lately but have been keeping up with the thread.
Another one for the whinge couch I'm afraid. I'm exhausted after a very restless night. My back started hurting yesterday afternoon. It started as like period pain in my lower back. It got worse as the day got on and pain moved lower. By 9.30 it was really painful and when I stood I looked like John Wayne! By the time I got up to bed the front of my pelvis was also hurting and it was agony rolling over in bed!!! I was awake much of the night from the pain!!
Currently psyching myself up to get out of bed and take DD to preschool Sad
