I'm definitely feeling flabby rather than pregnant still, I'm sure I was in my mat clothes by now with DD but they just swamp me, although that could be as I've started off a size smaller than first time so maybe it's actually just an excuse to go shopping! GrinGreat bump photo fluffy!

Warwick I have exactly the same re movement, I'm sure I've been feeling flutters for a couple of weeks now but they are very inconsistent. I'm 17+4 so hoping they will start to become more regular soon. Just keep reminding myself that baby is still small and the movements are tiny and that it's still quite early to feel regular movement anyway.

I also don't have a mw appointment now til 28 weeks. I have my birth choices app in the middle though so hoping I can get my mat1b then, otherwise I assume you can call your GP or mw and ask them to leave it for you?

Cold could you try calling your GP for a telephone consultation? They may sign you off without seeing you. Hope you start to feel better soon.

I'm 17+4 and still haven't seen my midwife for my 16-18 week check up. Am I supposed to get onto her for an appointment? I sent her a text last week as I can never remember when she's working but I didn't really think that was how it was supposed to work...

Jillybee1 · 04/04/2017 20:05

Hello lovelies! Hope you dont mind me tagging on! Im due on 27/9/17. I had a miscarriage last year at 6 weeks and although im now almost 15 weeks i am still a little anxious!! Had to buy some new clothes today as my bra's were hurting me and the top button on my jeans were hurting me! As i only had my first scan last week (both midwife and i didnt realise i was so far along!!) Not seeing anyone until my next scan which is booked in for when im 19 weeks! Have found reading through this thread really reassuring! I have no children so dont really know what to expect! Xx

Travelgeek · 04/04/2017 20:25

Hi jilly, welcome.

I have to book my midwife apts with the gp surgery. They hold an antenatal clinic there every Thursday so I just pick the one closest to the week I'm meant to be seen. You can't book them more than 4 weeks ahead though so I have to remember to call when I'm 21 weeks to book for my 25 week apt. I have one then as its my first.

I asked the mw at 16 weeks about getting my MATB1 and she said at my 25 week apt so I'll have to check when HR actually need it by.

I think its different in different places though. Those of you who can text your midwife are lucky, I've not seen the same person twice yet! I have phone numbers to call if I need though and everyone has been helpful and lovely.

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 04/04/2017 23:05

I'm feeling better today thanks everyone. Though I'm taking it as a good day. Not hoping I've turned a corner. Headache was coming and going this morning so it was bearable. Started to hit me properly not long before I got to work this afternoon so I took two paracetamol as soon as I got to my desk. Took most of the pain away until my shift was nearly over.
My midwife knows about the headaches. I've text her. She reckons it's normal early pregnancy symptoms etc. Doesn't really help me much.
If it gets bad again I will try and see or speak to gp again to get signed off. I'm not going to keep forcing myself in when I'm really struggling. At the same time I don't want to take too much sick leave now as I don't know if I'll need more sick leave later on. I get a maximum of 3 months paid sick a year and I've already had 7 days.

Welcome Jilly

redjoker · 05/04/2017 11:03

Hello everyone!

I'm new here, lots to catch up on by the looks of it; 15+5 and due on 22nd September. Feeling a little overwhelmed with the wealth of info being thrown at me. First time mum moving house in two weeks :/ mostly just headaches and spots atm. Hope you dont mind me joining in! Smile

user1490291922 · 05/04/2017 11:04

I'd like to join a Facebook group too if that's ok? Smile sorry to jump in I don't have anyone my age who's having a baby so it's nice to find those in the same boat as me Grin

SayItIsntSo1 · 05/04/2017 11:07

Hi red and user.

Had my 16wk check this morning with the midwife and heard baby's heartbeat chugging away. I don't think I could ever get bored of hearing it Grin.

16 week appointment with the consultant next week due to my MMC and no idea what they'll talk to me about!

I didn't watch OBEM last night, stuck with the zoo programme on 4+1 as I didn't want to jinx today! Did anyone watch it?

user1490291922 · 05/04/2017 11:11

No my other half refuses to watch it Sad no idea why! He said it gives him anxiety haha! I don't think he realises we need to do it in a few month Wink I will watch it alone tonight more than likely x

redjoker · 05/04/2017 11:36

Hey SayItIsntSo1

I cant watch that, way too much screaming for me, makes me feel on edge, id rather be blissfully ignorant for the next 6 months! Currently waiting for this apparent glow to turn up. Just a flabby spotty mess at the moment, no glow to be seen

Fluffywallow · 05/04/2017 12:23

Hi welcome to all the newcomers!! It's lovely to be able to share on here!

I think I'm as glowy as it's going to get - happy and feeling well and able to eat most foods again without feeling ill. Woo hoo! I've started tracking on my fitness pal again to try and keep control of my weight - even if it still goes up at least I'll know it's just baby and not fat.

17+5 today. I feel like it's a bit of a slow journey now until 20 weeks....scan 2 weeks on Monday.

LouLou030783 · 05/04/2017 13:18

Hey welcome to all the new ladies fluffy u always feel that is so slow in between 12 and 20 weeks apart from the last part it's got to be one of the longest stretches in pregnancy

redjoker · 05/04/2017 14:11

Is it normal to feel like absolute crap? I keep thinking 'get a grip' but actually i feel like death warmed up! Bored of telling people and im sure they are bored of hearing it. Not sick enough to take the day off but in general would rather just be on the sofa!

Tilly2017 · 05/04/2017 19:00

Hi all had my 16week appointment eventhough im gone 17 weeks. They found protein in my urine so its been sent off for analysis but blood pressure is spot on. Heard baby heartbeat but the little bugger wouldnt keep still long enough kept moving away from doppler. Glad to know little one is okay.

LouLou030783 · 05/04/2017 20:08

red yup unfortunately One of the lovely things about pregnancy it's so shit people who say pregnancy is wonderful are liars 😂😂

I felt guilty about going back to work pregnant but now I don't because I specifically said I couldn't work Fridays and on my first week back I'm in a Friday 🙄🙄 plus my very first day back is a 13hr shift gutted

Fluffywallow · 06/04/2017 06:21

Red yep unfortunately feeling not 100% is my general experience of pregnancy - I'm having a good week but who knows how long it'll last. Hopefully you'll feel perkier soon but in the meantime allow yourself all the rest you can get - you're growing a baby after all, it's hard work!

One reason I'm feeling better is that all of a sudden I'm sleeping way better than I was - it makes a huge difference. Long may it continue!

17+6 today.

calimommy · 06/04/2017 06:36

I'm also feeling fairly awful at the moment. I'm not sure if it's a general headache (which is immune to paracetamol) or if it's a low grade migraine. But it's lasting and interferes with my enthusiasm for projects with my children. Of course if those same children decided not to wake (8times last bloody night) throughout the night then it might help!!

I'm also unbearably full after eating a regular meal so bloating is at a peak.

Travelgeek · 06/04/2017 07:24

Morning ladies, sorry to hear you are all suffering. I'm doing ok at the moment, the odd headache and get full really quickly so have to eat small meals but otherwise really good. It makes for it feeling like a really long time until my next scan and the reassurance everything is ok. Two weeks tomorrrow! I braved watching OBEM yesterday on catch up. It was fascinating. And a bit scary.

redjoker · 06/04/2017 08:39

I just had a freddo for breakfast, WHAT HAVE I BECOME

Lules · 06/04/2017 08:50
