We all seem to be having a tough time of it in one way or another so this seemed quite appropriate somehow!

hello ladies - just popping in the say hi! sorry i dont have time to ask about all your news but i hav read and am following you all!

Katy44 · 05/03/2007 19:26

I have one and a half mondays left before ML!

Birdiebump · 05/03/2007 20:31

Also popping in to say hello. On my last week of work this week and 35 week on Thurs so really need to get my skates on. If only I was a list/organised sort of person....

Loved Runny's text!

WO - hope everything is ok.

Octopussy - sorry to hear about school fiasco. We don't even hear until March 30 (by which time I might be a bit distracted!) and it is really winding me up as I am still hoping to persuade them to let him into school for September and need to give it my full concentration and it would help to know which school......

Hello everyone else!

eca · 05/03/2007 20:33

hi all

have been lurking around but not had chance to post.

Feeling really tired tonight. I know what people mean about bump being bigger than expected. Went to a busy car boot sunday am and bump was just so in the way! Banging into everyone! 1b3 &oggs - you're amazing. How you're managing 2 in there i don't know!

CD - hope you have a really lovely hol. Sounds fab!

Mammyjo and pesha - hope you're doing ok.

wo - you sound busy lady. hope you're not overdoing it!

I am feeling very sorted with baby stuff. Finally washed up all the baby things SIL has lent me and they are all folded away in draws looking adorable! Really getting excited now! MIL picked up the buggy we got on ebay today and said it looks lovely. She's bringing it over tomorrow. Exciting!

SOSPL - i'm getting lots of movement too. Lo's been a really active one all through. Lots of hard kicks recently that are brusing my ribs.

Still can't work out if baby's turned. Keep having a prod, but just no idea! Hoping so much that thet have/do!

Right, need to go and find some food! Hungrrrrrrry!

eca · 05/03/2007 20:35

oh also - Katy - I reckon a girlie too!

And Octo - WHAT A NIGHTMARE! Can't believe you've been so stitched up by the system, it's awful ! Really hope that it works out for you.

WestCountryLass · 05/03/2007 21:24

Funny old day...Went to playgroup with DD and there are a few born and bred villagers who were gossiping about the likes of me and some other newcomers (been here nearly 2 years), all very school girl in the playground ...DD fell off a chair and bashed her lip and cried for ages...Then this afternoon she threw herself off a kitchen stool for some reason, landed on a step and bashed it in again...Took the cat to the vets as she has been off her food and I found some blood on a pillow she had slept on, was convinced she had cancer of the kidneys but actually she has an infected cat bite on her bat that I did not notice when I checked her over

What with that and being summoned by DSs teacher because I asked what numeracy work we should be practicing at home (wrote it in his communication book), I am glad tomorrow is a new day!

octopussyintummy · 05/03/2007 21:34

Had long chat with dh - no closer to deciding what to do - think this may go on for some time...

Maveta - popper or velcro ME?

Birdie - hope ds2 gets in for september!

Runny - glad to hear SPD is getting better - hope it continues - mine is a bit up and down but have been a bit distracted last few days - think if it was bad would just sit and cry all day!

Thanks for all your support with the school thing - really appreciated

What a glorious day and typically I have to stay in - GRRRR
Am havinbg Sky + installed today and knowing my luck they will arrive at 5.30pm tonight....still can get out in the garden - the sun is splitting the sky this morning - hurray!

Had an atrocious nights sleep - annoyingly not because of any pregnancy related uncomfortableness but because of Phil snoring....was once again fantasising about smothering him with the pillow. He has just sent v apologetic text but I am so cheesed off!

Bit worried at comments re Babies R us service as I am also waiting for my cot top changer to arrive today...hve had e-mail to confirm so am crossing fingers and hoping I am lucky!

Not looking forward to Sky people coming - I hate having any type of work person invade the house...especially if Phil isn't here - there is ALWAYS a problem and they always make a right blinking mess and I just don't need the stress - I must try to remain calm and if there are any problems I've told Phil he can expect a phone call as I am not sorting it out or shifting furniture about etc.....

CD Hope you managed to get packed and I hope the weather is good for you.

Hope everyone else is well this morning! WCL glad it was nothing majorly serious with your cat.

Also loved Runny's thing about "what you do all day" - read it to Phil and he thought it was good too! I must admit I am very lucky as I know Phil would never ever say it to me!

Maveta - hope your friend is ok

Right best go and play stickle bricks with his lordship!

mmk · 06/03/2007 09:42

ar yes Katy44 that would be a girl then! the real give away is the colour of the pee, but I was just too polite to ask about it!

the signs for a girl are
heartbeat over 140
sweet, sugar, fruit cravings

I have eaten like a pig! I'm ok until about midday, and then the whole system just goes beserk. Usually I hate sweet foods, now, I just can't stop!

mum - hope Sky is installed easily and all goes well.

Washed all my pram stuff yesterday, very emotional. I had to wait 12 years to push a pram, and can't wait to push it again!

Slept a full 7 (yes7) hours last night, first time in years, trouble is, woke up feeling really, really awful!

flumppootle · 06/03/2007 09:42

Morning all

Gorgeous morning here too. Thankyou for all kind words about the stairs fall. Am feeling loads better just have black and blue legs!

Octo - really feel for you about the school thing.

Weeonion, hope that you are okay and getting some rest after your DIY weekend.

Captain Dippy, have a lovely holiday. Give my Auntie a wave from me, she is in Luss for a wedding this weekend.

Katy I am going to vote for a......GIRL

WCL hope that you have a better day today. The playground politics drives me up the wall aswell!

MIABT, can I offer a word of advice about your Sky+ being installed? Just a lesson that we learned that is still causing grief.
If you already have a sky digital box then make sure that the engineer does not put the digital sky card into the sky+ box to register it. If they do the wrong card is registered to the wrong box and it takes an age to sort. I dont know why they do it but almost everyone I know has had the same problem. Guard your old card so that he cant do it, you will save yourself alot of heartache.
Sorry if you didn't want advice but just wish someone had warned me

Tilli you asked if the quick labour was a first baby. It was my third! Am very impressed with your quick one for a first!

Maveta how is the cat this morning?

SOSPL what a nightmare with the chewing gum, I have all kinds of things appear in my machine. Usually polly pocket

flumppootle · 06/03/2007 09:45

Morning mmk - x posted.

A good nights sleep is such a treat at the moment.
It's lovely getting all the baby bits ready again, although your road has been a long one. I was very touched reading your post and am glad that you have joined us on this thread

flumppootle · 06/03/2007 09:46

MIABT, meant to ask if you are taking either peppermint cordial or windease in your bag for the delightful windy pains post section???

muminabigtumi · 06/03/2007 09:54

Flump - good plan! I remember them giving e peppermint coridal last time...forgot quite how bad they were - I was soooo constipated too....will have to add that!

Also - many thanks re info about Sky Card...engineer has just rung to say on way so just in time with that info - I shall swipe the old card as soon as he takes the old box out - he is putting that one upstairs so wouldn't of thought he would put old card in new box but as you so rightly point out - it's happened before and I will watch out for it

Thanks!!

Also - just found a really useful site called netmums. It has lists of all the local mother and baby groups and classes, eg swimming and signing - all sorts in your area - I have just got loads of good stuff from there for when I am off with baby and James...worth a look to see what is going on your area and a good way of meeting local mums? Also have for sale and wanted boards and childcare boards too....

flumppootle · 06/03/2007 09:59

Thanks MIABT

If you are moving the box then I would Guard that card. We had the old box put upstairs and they still cancel all the channels whenever they feel like it (even though we pay for them ) because of the card muck up! Every time I complain they tell me that the card I am using isn't registered to that box anymore - ARGGHHHH.
Have to phone them later, thanks for reminding me they have cancelled the movie channels this time

CaptainDippy · 06/03/2007 10:21

Just zooming in, in-between getting last min bits ready for our pilgramge to Bonny Scotland ...... Head's a whirl ..... at least we managed to get rid of the girls for an hour or two while we panic!!

Tili · 06/03/2007 10:28

Planning on doing my hospital bag this week have got everything I need........I think !

My pram should come tomorrow too I cant wait and neither can beth she wants to try it out with her dolls !

Anyway better head off take care all xxx

mmk · 06/03/2007 10:29

Have a good trip captain. Is this a holiday?

Have long have you got before DDs are back?

octopussyintummy · 06/03/2007 10:29

Oooh sky (sucks air through teeth!) - we had sky+ installed and multiroom a while ago - it was fine - just complete ding dong over where they were and were not allowed to put the wires and having to pay if the external wire is over a certain length etc! But to make you chuckle - the day after it was installed we lost the skycard and blamed Ted - spent yonks on phone to sky and got new card - put it in - still wouldn't work etc etc - it only turned out we were putting it in the wrong hole - in the interactive hole and that the skycard hole had a childproof cover onit!

House being valued this morning - ds2 at playgroup. DH completely stressed out over it all. But have come up with the following solutions:

  1. Ted goes to our village school until a place becomes available. I can do the morning run no problem and until xmas he is half days so can pick up too. After christmas ds1 will have to go to after school club or something or get a lift.
  1. Ted stays at preschool until a place becomes available.
  1. We put the house on the market and rent a house in Marshfield until we find a house we like and he is bumped to top of list as such being a local sibling - but would be in the old school

The main concern is that our mortgage is nearly paid off and the thought of having a mortgage for another 25 years is just hideous.

So if you would like to vote 1,2 or 3! A very scientific approach....

mmk · 06/03/2007 10:32

Octopussy, I go for option 1. It has the least hassle, and gives you the most that you can get out of the situation.

octopussyintummy · 06/03/2007 10:32

Have a great holiday CD

I used to live in Helensburgh and oldest friend still lives there. Wave from me if go through! Luss is lovely for weddings - esp Cameron House - friend got married there about 7 years ago - bit of a blur though

Off to wait for estate agent - I know her so have only tidied rooms she will take pics of!

Pesha · 06/03/2007 10:34

morning all, just quick post at mo as am on dps laptop but couldnt find plug for it and the screen keeps getting darker and darker so worried battery may go any minute!!

Haven't been to see anyone yet, have had a few little twingy pains but cant tell if it just sudden aches or babys position or something else but dont have time to go and see anyone!! I am a woman possessed at the mo, nesting big time! Cleared out big cupboard full of crap yesterday as we've taken tumble drier out of it now im getting my new washer dryer today (yay!!) so finally have somewhere to keep my buggy and car seats we're not using and things! We got all baby stuff out loft yesterday and were half way through building dds bed, I wanted to carry on and finish but dp was knackered as he got up about half 10 after working all night! Am now sat here thinking ok what job can i do now that wont wake him up. Am tempted to mow the lawn but think grass is prob too wet after last night. Cant wait for washing machine to turn up so i can get on with washing baby stuff and get it all ready!

Not such short post after all!!

Oh and meant to say - YAY!! - i inspired a thread title!! Tis my first

Octo - sorry about school nightmare, have no more advice but feel for you.

1B3 - Ive not stopped moaning lately about how uncomfortable i am, i cant sleep, im so tired. I cant imagine how much harder it must be for you. Tell dh if he doesn't like it to cook his own f**king dinner and then take yourself off somewhere for a couple of hours and leave him to it! Thats what id do anyway and dp knows it! He keeps making 'jokes' about me being lazy etc but he wouldnt dare say it for real, Ive been a real bitch to him this pregnancy!!

Have forgotten everything else now and waffled on far more than i intended to and if i dont get on and do things it'll be time to get nath from playschool and ill have done nothing!

flumppootle · 06/03/2007 10:34

LOL at sky card Octopussy!!

Before I place my vote can I ask if you would have moved house anytime soon if this had not happened with the schools?

runnyhabbit · 06/03/2007 10:38

eca · 06/03/2007 10:52

morning

had crappy night's sleep. Million loo stops, bit of a temperature and all clammy, and pain all down my neck and shoulders which I think is from being out working for a long session in the freezing cold yesterday.

Had a nice warm bath this am while dh hoovered the car and downstairs before he went off to work, so that made me feel a bit better! Got a friend coming round with her new baby this am too! Exciting! And the sun's shining so that's nice.

Octo - don't feel qualified to vote! Just astonished that you're having to go through all this!

hello everyone else!
