We all seem to be having a tough time of it in one way or another so this seemed quite appropriate somehow!

OP posts:

1b3, I've sent Bigonion round your place to give your DH a big kick up the *rse and he's got some choccies for you too .

Knackered here, too - feels like the 1st trimester all over again! These last few weeks are a blooming drag. Keep telling myself to enjoy the time with dd before another baby gets in on the act and did take her swimming this morning, which was lovely.

The school situation sounds a nightmare, Octo - unbelievable you'd be expected to take your kids to two different schools like that! Hope it gets sorted out.

CaptainDippy · 05/03/2007 16:21

Right. Need to get arse into gear ....

Katy44 · 05/03/2007 16:28

"Katy44, we just need a bit of insider info, like are you eating/craving salty foods, or sugar, fruit and juice? "
yes, yes, yes and yes
Oh no, I'm just a pig
Which is which by the way?
Baby's heartbeat was 144 last time MW counted, and my fingernails have been growing incredibly fast. I had lots of morning sickness.

I'm so excited about possibly finding out!!!

CD- been discovered??

Eddas · 05/03/2007 16:28

1b3, know what you mean about the dinners but am generally crap with them anyway.

I'm knackered too can't imagine having two energy sappers inside, must be a nightmare.

Sorry to hear most people are having a crappy day today. I'm fine accept the itching(sorry to keep mentioning it!!!)

Sending you all wishes for a good nights sleep and some tlc from those dp's. But failing that chocolate always works for me

octopussyintummy · 05/03/2007 16:38

Afternoon all - more tears but a bit of respite in that the village playgroup have said he can stay on until April 2008 - after that he has to go to school. Am going to see a school tomorrow and the house is being valued! Houses here tend to sell within the week - so fingers crossed - but nothing in the other village at the moment.... would like to sell before baby comes so don't have viewings during labour!

If we are to be considered as residents in the other village for the next round - in a couple of weeks we need to have signed on the dotted line by then - unlikely!

Dh in complete tizz too! Our mortgage is nearly paid off and to take out another mortgage for another 25 years is just plain hideous!

IsabellyMoi · 05/03/2007 16:51

1B3 - hope things get a little better and/or the babies decide to come soon. Our collective "due in April" hat is off to you (and Oogs)...well done! Sorry your DH isn't being more considerate.

Octopus - sorry about the school crisis. Sounds stressful.

Had a bit of a scare Saturday morning - NO movement from the baby at a time of day when he/she normally kicks madly. Couldn't prod him/her awake either. Called midwife and NHS helpline and they were taking it pretty seriously and advising we go in to hospital for monitoring but then the baby started kicking normally. Pheww... Had me in tears with worry, though, and just glad to feel lots of movement since then.

Like many of you, I've been waking up early/not sleeping so well (up most mornings around 4 am for a few hours). Today I was home with no plans and actually had a 3 hour morning nap - I normally can't really sleep in the day but it was WONDERFUL and much needed. Feeling okay now. Had house guests on the weekend and we did miles of walking so maybe I was tired from that.

maveta · 05/03/2007 16:52

I´m betting on a girl for you Katy44!

Finally did my birth plan, yay! Thanks WO for sharing yours, it helped direct me a bit and keep it to the point, I do have a tendency to waffle...

Just got a quote back re. cushions for the glider chair I picked up for ?50.. they said all up will cost more than ?200!!! I don´t think so. Will have to see what we can make do with. poo.

Got a friend coming over soon, seems she and her dh are splitting up and he´s moved out, they´ve only been married 18 months!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 05/03/2007 16:57

Hi ladies, just nipping on before I have to fly out the door again and pick up B.

1b3, really sorry that your dh is being a bit insensitive - to say the least. Men really don't know they are born.
My dh is glad to be fed anything thank God, but what bothers me is that he keeps saying I need to slow down, take it easy etc. but doesn't help out! How is anything supposed to get done fgs!

Octo, glad there has been a bit of silver lining in the cloud that is the school trauma.

Hello to everyone else. Must dash, but be back later.

xx

Katy44 · 05/03/2007 17:04

hmm...two girls vs zero boys

Forgot to say I like the new thread title! ALthough I have to say at the moment I do feel all womb - I've just knocked a glass of water over in the kitchen - it was about 2 feet away from the edge so my bump is bigger than I realise!

maveta · 05/03/2007 17:11

LOL Katy44 - I keep hitting things, and people, with my bump aswell..

..33 weeks tomorrow...! Although actually I am sure wednesday is the day I should change weeks as my due date is a wed but my midwife is convinced I change every tuesday. I´m going with her version..anything to slice a day off here or there, right?!

maveta · 05/03/2007 17:13

oooh yes, forgot to mention I just received 3 ME wraps that I bought from ebay - such good condition! I am so thrilled.

weeonion - have you received your missing items yet?

Katy44 · 05/03/2007 17:17

What's an ME wrap? Sorry if I've just been ignoring the posts!

Katy44 · 05/03/2007 17:18

I've just bid on Take That tickets on ebay - I don't even like TT!! Just caught up in the hype!

maveta · 05/03/2007 17:20

LOL @ Katy and TT

Motherease wrap for cloth nappies.. am just so shocked that they look so new.. kind of half expected some kind of scraggy bit of cloth to drop through the letterbox that I´d then have to go and get all indignant about.

Katy44 · 05/03/2007 17:27

Well that would ruin my day. We'll have to find something else for you to get indignant about

Katy44 · 05/03/2007 17:29

TT tickets - I had a fantasy about making someone's day (prob my cousins) - but only bid a fiver so needless to say was outbid very quickly. The seller was in Durham too, so could have saved myself the £2 postage fee (it's amazing what I'll get when I think I'm getting a bargain!!)

maveta · 05/03/2007 17:29

I´m sure we can find something... once my friend arrives we´ll get indignant about her soon to be ex husband. Wanker. Wow, that WAS easy...

Katy44 · 05/03/2007 17:30

Yes, only married for 18 months! Did you know things were bad, or has this come out of the blue? Do they have children?

Katy44 · 05/03/2007 17:32

OK, I've decided these are definitely BHs!! Every so often I just get a kind of squeezing feeling, wasn't sure if it was the baby moving about at first but I don't think so, as it's all over my stomach. How exciting!

runnyhabbit · 05/03/2007 17:33

Flippin heck - you can tell that ML is kicking in for this thread

Apologies in advance for not being personal, but I hope that all those feeling crappy feel better soon.

Had a lush weekend - dh didn't work at all - yay - and he's really getting into the homebirth thing. Was very productive too - made dinners for the week. Nigella eat your heart out

1st day of ML today, and meant that I didn't have to get up at 6am, but ds let me lie in til 7.15am. Doesn't sound a lot but that hour extra has made all the difference!

I might be tempting fate, but my SPD seems to have disappeared Still there in the morning, but not painful, just uncomfortable until I've walked round for a bit. The physio said that this could happen in the last few weeks of pregnancy, as the babys head drops down/engages ready for labour! - I've still got 5 weeks to go!

Octo - I know of a few people that have moved to get into their choice of school. Such a PITA

1b3 - somethimes I think that we do too much for men. Dh once had the cheek to ask me what I did all day, as I only work partime I printed this story from another MN thread and showed him - he soon shut up!

A husband comes home from work after another long day at the office.
Upon entering his front door, however, he is puzzled to find the hallway scattered with toys, jackets and a pile of unopened mail on the floor. Even more surprising, when he entered the living room he found toys everywhere, overflowing ashtrays and dirty teacups from the night before. Now starting to get worried that something might be wrong, he goes into the kitchen, only to find the sink full of dirty dishes, the tiled floor filthy from muddy paw prints and kids? footprints, and again toys, unwrapped food and an even bigger mess.
Now in a panic, he quickly climbs the cluttered stairs and bursts into the bedroom, only to find the bed unmade and his wife sitting at the window admiring the view.
?What the hell has happened dear? It?s like a war zone in here!?
?Well dear, every day you walk through that door from a long day at the office, and every day you ask me the same question: ?what did you do today dear?? Well today I didn?t do it!!!?

maveta · 05/03/2007 17:34

No, it´s been coming for a while. Like, about a year.. but still, she´s my friend so he´s the wanker. Like my logic? no kids..

Katy44 · 05/03/2007 17:37

maveta, of course!
runny, keeping my fingers crossed that the SPD has gone for the rest of your pregnancy - really hope I haven't jinxed it already!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 05/03/2007 18:10

Runny, loved that bit of text!
They really haven't a clue. I am soooo cross with dh as have just emptied the washing machine and have found that he never checked his jeans pockets and 3 pieces of chewing gum have been washed and now stuck to some of the clothes. FGS! The washing also smells of mint - I suppose it could be a worse smell, but it is just another example of the lack of thought/care taken. It's just chuck it in the laundry basket and Claire will sort it!

Rant over, until later!

Maveta, how awful for your friend. Hope it isn't too much of an emotional evening.

mammyjo · 05/03/2007 18:40

Know what you mean about the washing. Dh will never check his pockets. I have had chewing gum as well as drill bits, nails, screws and other metal things that he has left in his pocket from work. Its a wonder that none of it has found its way through the machine and actually done some damage. Its true though, its just assumed that we will do it (and we do).

Runny, like that bit of text. So bloody true. I am sure that dh thinks I stay home sitting on my arse and drinking cups of tea all day. Oh if only. Didnt realise you were hoping for a home birth, hope your dh will come round to the idea. I shall be off to POW as soon as anything starts to happen so that I can get my antibiotics.

CaptainDippy · 05/03/2007 19:20

LOL @ text runny - absolute diamond - I just read it outload to my DH and he said: "That's what wives are for!!!!!" What do you think I should say / do ladies!!!!!!?

Still got loads to do - DD's are having a bit of a late one tonight - DD1 had a proper nap this a/n - something she practically never does, so think we couldh ave a fight on our hands tonight ...... Eeeeeek!!

I did sort out the girls clothes today though - so feeling vaguely proud of myself - need to get my head round packing .....
