We all seem to be having a tough time of it in one way or another so this seemed quite appropriate somehow!

Morning all.

CD, have a wonderful holiday.

MIABT, sorry about your pants night with Phil snoring. Has he tried those Breathe Right strips? I picked up a leaflet on Netmums when I was in the ELC the other day. Looks as though there is some really good info.

Another website I found was midwives on line - google it and you will get the exact address. Thought it was fab, and another source of information.

God, can't remember a bloody thing!

Had a fab nights sleep, and didn't get up for a wee once! I am getting as good as Becky - where's my Gold star!

Right, need to get on as at work. Back later. xx

Eddas · 06/03/2007 10:54

Octo, now i'm going to sound really dim but why would you need a 25year mortgage? Would you just not need a little bit extra? Mortgages don't have to be 25 years do they? My father in law had one for £10K over 10 years but paid it off in about 2/3. He can't stand owing money, bless him if only he knew what our mortgage was!!!

If you woul need a 25 year one i totally understand not wanting to do it. We moved in July and will struggle with our repayments as i was not budging from the 19 years still left on ours. I want to be mortage free by 50

Birdiebump · 06/03/2007 11:02

Octopussy -

As I recall your DS2 is a fairly outgoing little fellow, in which case I would go for Option 1. If you think the changes would be too traumatic for him and he is happy where he is, there is nothing wrong with Option 2. Either of these mean waiting for the appeal I assume and then you can decide about the house thing at your leisure. Good luck with the whole thing....

Pesha - I'm also finally not just waking up for "no reason" but now feeling really uncomfortable and just hardly sleeping at all! Take it easy while your DP is resting - enjoy the sunshine in the long grass!

octopussyintummy · 06/03/2007 11:22

Flumpootle - have been humming/haaing over moving for about a year - but keep thinking how nice it would be without a mortgage!

Ted is really quite a hardy little fellow and would easily start in the village and move to Marshfield. But it would be easier to have them both in same place.

Anyway house been valued and signs going up tomorrow - told her it needs to sell either before baby or will have to wait sometime afterwards until we are back up and organised! There aren't any other houses around really for sale so may go really quickly and then we will have to make a decision quickly as to what to do re Ted and whether to sell. arrrggghhhhhh!

Am going to cancel visit to other school - even further away - as moving them both away from both schools is complete madness due to panic! I really don't want to move ds1 at any cost.

Need to go collect ds2 xoxoxoxoxox

octopussyintummy · 06/03/2007 11:24

Its amazing isn;t it how things can take over your life ?

oooggs · 06/03/2007 11:24

i am in hospital again. internet by my bed! contractions started last night at 9.30pm. 3 every 10 mins lasting 1 min each. cervix is closed so staying for observations. this keypad is hard to use, but will try to keep in touch x

mammyjo · 06/03/2007 11:27

Morning everyone. Very jealous of those of you who managed to sleep well. I have so many toilet trips at night I never get more than an hour or two of sleep in one block.

MMK, wanted to ask about the colour of the pee thing! What does it mean? Curiosity is really getting to me about whether I am having a pink or blue one so any hints would be gratefully received! I am scoffing raspberries and strawberries like they are going out of fashion, does that tell me anything? Heartbeat has been anything from 130 - 150 so a bit borderline on that one.

MIABT, hope the sky goes ok today. We have got a box upstairs too and I love it. Its great at the moment too as it means I can bugger off up to bed at a ridiculously early hour and still watch a film or something leaving dh happily watching sport downstairs!

CD, have a fab holiday, hope the weather is good for you.

Have been to tescos this morning and got my drinks and snacks for my hospital bag so am finally getting somewhere now! Baby has definitely migrated south since Sunday evening and hasnt come back up. Much more comfy in the rib area but not so great down there! Seeing midwife tomorrow for a check after maybe waters and the show on the weekend. Have a good day all xxx

mmk · 06/03/2007 11:28

We'll keep you company oogs. Do you have a view, can you see the sunshine? Where in the UK are you?

fingers crossed and hugs

1becomes3 · 06/03/2007 11:29

Morning all, I am still feeling like shit, not as grumpy today

Was in a terrible mood last night, offered DH sex and he fell asleep on the couch, so I saw no action. (didn't really want it anyway but that is not the point)
Did get a little bit more sleep as I left DH on the couch for the night.

Anyway................

Thank you Laitht for sending bigonion round with the biccies

Runny- love that text I am going to print it off blow it up to super size and have it on my fridge.

Isabellymoi-that must have been horrible for you not feeling bump kicking,I haven't had that problem as bump doesn't stop kicking.
Dh asked me last night if one baby kicks more than the other, I told him I didn't have a clue who was doing what anymore there are to many arms and legs all over the place for me to be able to tell.

C.D- hope you enjoy your hols.

Think that was everything. I have no idea

mammyjo · 06/03/2007 11:30

Hi Ooogs! We had been wondering where you were! Hope you are doing ok. Very exciting to think that the dts could be on their way!! Would you be happy to have them now or rather them stay put for a few more weeks, sorry cant remember how many weeks you are now. You are my buddy but didnt have your email address to send you my mobile number! Hope everything goes ok today xxx

mmk · 06/03/2007 11:32

mammyjo- bright green yellow pee means its a boy, dull yellow or orange means its a girl. Ar yes, fruit craving means it's a girl too.

Thank goodness you mentioned snacks and drinks for hospital bag, I'd forgotten about them! Even though having a planned Caesarean, I'll need plenty of drinks and snacks afterwards. In case of missed meals etc.

Big celebration - DS went to sleep with out his BELOVED, ADORED dummy last night-thank goodness! He is 2 years 9 months.

1becomes3 · 06/03/2007 11:36

Oh I x posted so many people then!

Oooggs good luck, if it was me i would be praying for my cervix to open!

mammyjo · 06/03/2007 11:41

Ooh! Maybe mine is a girl then as I am in the orange pee camp (apologies if anyone is eating, sure you dont really want to know what colour it is)!

Well done to your ds mmk on sleeping minus the dummy too. They are a nightmare to get rid of arent they. My SIL (pita and not the sharpest) had her baby a couple of years ago with a 5 year gap. Because the baby had a bottle and dummy she gave one to the five year old as well. No idea why, she just said she had to so that the dd felt part of things. Err, no.

1becomes3 · 06/03/2007 11:42

Have to keep posting as it keeps me away from the window, waiting for my tesco delivery, got no food and we are HUNGRY!

I have had to take my wedding ring off and can't wear socks anymore as it seems that every part of my body is swelling up.

mammyjo · 06/03/2007 11:51

I had to take my wedding ring off over the weekend too and cant get it back on now. My fingers are not hugely puffy but its enough for me to notice. I am still wearing socks but my ankles and feet and even my toes are puffier now too. There is no dignity in pregnancy! Hope your delivey comes soon so you can eat

mammyjo · 06/03/2007 11:54

Just thought 1b3, does your midwife know you are holding on to a bit of fluid? I just know that they do worry about it sometimes as a sign of pre eclampsia. Dont want to scare you or anything but just wondered. That said, I think most women get some swelling towards the end. I was worse than this with ds.

GirtWaspbElly · 06/03/2007 12:03

I gave up on wedding ring as soon as it became even vaguely uncomfortable! Currently on necklace for those interfereing owd biddies who check your fingers when they clock your bump!

Friend who gave birth 5 weeks ago has got a hungry baby & is persevering on bf - can't wait 'til I'm on ML (Friday!) when I can go & offer moral support as I found it desperately hard too, seemed to be bf ALL the time and not sleeping ever!

Oh and for the first timers - someone elses screaming baby's never as bad as your own - so don't worry about handing it over, for 5 minutes 'you time' out of earshot.....

Have realised I'm on last button hole of fav. trousers by this time last time it was so hot I was in sarong/shorts most of the time!

can't wait for ML - had a lovely nap yesterday (ill with sore tonsils) and felt human in the eve because of it!

mammyjo · 06/03/2007 12:06

Good on your friend for persevering. I managed five weeks with ds before giving up as I really struggled with it. Makes a real difference to have someone to talk to who knows what it is like. Hope she is ok.

mmk · 06/03/2007 12:20

What is happening oogs?
Grt - I'm just getting puffy now, at 33 weeks. Last time, I had swelling at 14 weeks and carpal tunnell syndrome at 16 weeks, so I'm glad not to have it this time.

re Bf, for me last time, it was a disaster, I was forced to give up FAR too early, partly because I didn't do any research.

This time, I'm doing mountains of research, and have got the specialist from the hospital on the case. Also discovered La Leche League and the american one, LLC or something. I can send you it all if you like.
Originally, I was going to have a bf specialist on hand, but I know more than they do now, so I will just need help with putting it into practice.

Sometimes, it is the flow that is the problem so it seems. I've also got a special Medela feeding device, which attaches to the breast, to provide more milk, and some organic mothers tea!

This is the last child I shall ever bear, and the last chance I'll ever have to breastfeed, so i'm not going to let anything stop me.! If the feeding needs to be supplemented, it will be supplemented with bm.

If anyone wants it, i have pages and pages of info collected on the internet.

oooggs · 06/03/2007 12:24

just been showered & fed.still contracting. yes 1b3 praying for cervix to open, but midwives say another couple of weeks would be best. down here in sunny Plymouth! mammyjo not sure how to use email on this at the mo but will contact you soon.

oooggs · 06/03/2007 12:26

oh and I am 34 + 5

mmk · 06/03/2007 12:29

OOh plymouth, I had a sailor boyfriend once, called Jerry who was based in Plymouth, oh love, romance...youth....

At our hospital, they say anything after 30 weeks is fine.

1becomes3 · 06/03/2007 12:37

34 weeks is the average for twin pg oooggs, ]I'm sure your DT's are a good weight already, I'm so of you I want mine out.

Mammjo-I have an app with my consultant tommrrow so I will ask him about the swelling, I am tempted to look up symptoms of pre-eclampsia now, you have put the shit's up me.

maveta · 06/03/2007 12:38

Hi girls,
Flying visit.. busy busy today as boss is arriving and only here til thursday so lots and lots of things to prepare for us to go over, oh the stress the stress..

Thanks to those who asked, my friend is okay, I am sure when she's on her own she's worse but she's putting on a brave face and I think a big part of her is relieved that there has been some kind of decision made. And as for the cat, he seems a bit better today so hopefully the laxative has done the job. Poor darling, it's all be happening to him lately..

Ooogs - good luck, hope it all goes well and keep us updated!!

Got to go got to go SORRY to everyone I've missed catch up later xx

maveta · 06/03/2007 12:39
