I also had my booking in appointment. Been referred to a mental health midwife, obstetrician and hypnobirthing. With possibly physio to come later

So sorry nanny and madness

I told my boss today (as early as it is); my colleagues covered for me going home early on Tuesday because of the bleeding, and then the scan yesterday, by saying I'd been sick. He was absolutely thrilled for me and DH, and said I should take it easy (while still doing the job, obviously) and he would understand if things are worrying me and I need to run to get them checked out.

I just want to stop bleeding now (please...it's such a weird feeling having morning all fricking day sickness and such tender boobs while, effectively, menstruating) and then crack on with growing this person. Next scan is on the evening of Monday 20th...fingers crossed for then.

Sorry to hear of more losses. Life is so cruel.

Had second interview today and got very nervous and worried I've blown it. Should find out sometime in the next week either way. Suppose what's meant to be is meant to be and nothing I can do to change it now. 7+4 today and this time next week I'll have had another scan and hopefully I will be able to start to relax a bit, as the odds of MC drop a lot from 8-9 weeks. No more spotting since the other night so fairly comfortable with the notion that it was caused by the progesterone.

Play** I've been referred to a mental health midwife also. I've also been referred to the mental health team which is quite scary for me. Didn't think a bit on anxiety would cause this much concern! They said that through pregnancy your mental health issues will heighten so they will need to keep an eye on it. Also the pros and cons of taking medication
The old wives tale is that if you have a stressful pregnancy then you're likely to have a grisly baby!

Having midwife issues at the mo, first apt has to be booked directly with them, but you can't call and speak to anyone so have left a voicemail and am waiting. And waiting. And waiting.... It has only been 4 days but its feeling a bit like forever. I just want someone to tell me this is all real and I'm not making it up!

Luna I have anxiety on and off (with one bad period 9 year ago). This was discussed yesterday with my midwife and she didn't seem like it was a big deal. There's part of me that wishes I was having extra support. I know it's normal to have some levels of anxiety and especially with a first baby but it is affecting me a bit and I'm terrified I'll end up like I was 9 year ago!

I think It depends on the severity of the anxiety as to whether they refer you to the mental health midwife or not. I've had psychiatric treatment for anxiety depression and ocd and have had a CPN on a regular basis for it all so I think tbh she came to my appointment yesterday having already made the referral!

Has anyone had a MH midwife before and know what they do and how often you see them?

I've got my early scan today I'm bricking it. By my dates I'm 7+4 but everyone keeps trying to tell me I'm 6+4 so I'm having issues with the concept of the internal scan even though I've had them before!

I've suffered anxiety through most of my life, I've had CBT & counselling at various stages of my life. Is it likely I'll be referred to a MH team? It never crossed my mind!

Good luck play and Tigger. I've never had an internal scan, and I imagine it to be a bit uncomfortable, but if that's what they need to do to check your little ones I'm sure you'll do fine!

I hope the mh midwife/consultants are really useful. I had a friend a few years ago who didn't get nearly enough care although she should have had a tonne! Hopefully it's improved since then! :)

I have had an internal scan when they thought I had an ovarian cyst - honestly not too bad at all and much better than I expected and I would say more comfortable than having a smear done x

Ahh good news tigger!

I just had my booking app (midwife showed up this time!) all pretty straightforward, scan date should go in the post this afternoon. Weird how filling in a few forms makes it feel more "real"!

I have a scan on Monday (It will be my 3rd one) at 7+4 and to be honest I am bricking it... Just Fx'd they see a heart beat!!!!

Weirdly I think having an internal is actually more comfurtable than a belly scan. They push so hard on your belly!!!

I'm being extra paranoid this morning - had awful nausea the past few weeks but it's disappeared this morning

Being silly as I never had any with my previous pregnancies but I was taking that as a good sign

Thanks for the info undersecretary. I don't know if it was fraternal or identical twins. My mum never told me much about it. From what I do know it sounds like a vanishing twin, so fairly common but still sad to think about. I hardly do ever think about it, except at times like this when pregnant! Not long until my scan though. How are you holding up? Did you book a private scan in the end?

pleasebob my nausea has almost disappeared since yesterday. I think symptoms do come and go so I'm trying not to worry unless I have other worrying signs too. It's tough though.

So got a call today and they offered me the job! Just hope they are ok when they eventually find out I'm pregnant, if the pregnancy goes well. 7+5 today, counting down to the scan on 16/3.

I'm 10 weeks today and woke up feeling 100% normal. had a panic then this after noon back to feeling sick and slightly achey. few!!! am worried my boobs nolonger hurt.
midwives going to try and find heart beat at my appointment next week saw it on the scan last week just hope it's there next week and il be the furthest iv ever got

Green forgive me but I thought Midwives were not meant to look for a heartbeat with a doppler etc until 16 weeks as it can be notoriously difficult to detect? Are they going to give you another scan?

Exciting about the Milestone though!
