@Seahawk80 if you're worried about the injection a few girls were discussing it at yoga last night saying it's fine (nowhere near as bad as whooping cough or flu).

@glitterglitters haha thanks, although I do think I look a bit odd in that pic lol, passport pics are never the best, was going to just crop the mum to be part but the train was pulling into the station so just thought sod it lol

Hope you all have a good day. My day is in pounds, shillings, & pence (research using massive 1700s and 1800s ledgers), need a productive day to be home in time to go to aquanatal!

glitterglitters · 21/03/2017 10:39

Oh I do not envy you @dani the whole 240 pence in a pound blows my mind. 😂🙈

Kitsandkids · 21/03/2017 12:31

I'm having to monitor my blood sugar levels at the minute due to a slightly raised glucose test result. But at home the levels are totally fine! Yesterday I had a couple of bars of chocolate just to kind of 'test' how much effect the sugar would have and the result on the next test was still within normal. I wonder how long I have to keep doing it before they would say 'actually, you seem to be alright after all!'

Notyetthere · 21/03/2017 16:09

Baby's movements are making me cringe. Weird mishapen tummy with a limb or knee sticking out on one side and then watching it move under the skin is freaky as hell.

mynameisntLinda · 21/03/2017 16:29

finally booked my WC jab coz it was mentioned in the facebook group so got that to look forward to next week. it's at 3:30 and i finish work at half 4 so the appointments will defo run over so i don't ahve to go back to work lol
first Hypnobirthing course with the midwife tonight. Listened to the CD briefly before and it's a bit cringe. I really need to find my old rainbow relaxation one!!

dani have no idea how any of that money works out! mind boggling lol

LuciBee231015 · 21/03/2017 17:01

Not, I love the weird movements and watching my belly, I could do it all day!

ButterflyFree · 21/03/2017 17:13

I agree with you @LuciBee231015 I love watching my belly! Most of the time it's still quite flat but there must be one particular position the baby moves into which makes it pop out, and I can see my skin undulating as he wiggles. Finding it most entertaining to lay on the sofa or in bed and just watch the activity 😂

Had my enlarged mole removed today as I mentioned further down the thread; luckily it was covered by insurance so didn't have to shell out the £900 for what was effectively just a simple 5-minute procedure!

Notyetthere · 21/03/2017 17:15

Luci I'm ok with the deeper movements but the ones closer to the surface where you see body parts sticking out, makes me grit my teeth. And now they are getting stronger too. Feels like not before long she will rip through my skin. I know it won't happen like that but still.

TinklingTheIvories · 21/03/2017 17:47

Hi ladies!

Had a bit of a scare today (sorry if tmi) - went to the loo, and when I wiped there was a single spot of bright red blood. Started panicking. Have been several times since and nothing. Also felt lots of movement since, which I'm thinking is good. Still going to keep and eye on it and rest a lot. Probably just over done it a bit at work.

In other news - we've got a private yoga class booked in on Saturday so we've got that to look forward to. Just me and DH. And my parents are over on Sunday to see our new house. So we've got some things to look forward to at the weekend. Just a busy week to get through first.

I've not seen any movement yet, though I've felt more than I though I would as I was told at the 20 week scan I have an anterior placenta, which I thought meant you don't feel as much movement. DH even got to feel the kicks last night and this morning. Smile

Seahawk80 · 21/03/2017 20:23

Thanks @danigrace - I've already had one anti d after my cvs and it was awful. Am freaking out a bit as since I'd just had the biggest needle I've ever seen poked into my stomach (and it really hurt) the fact that I found the anti d painful make me think it must have been awful. Perhaps it was just the last straw after an awful stressful sad day (I won't go on about it as I've posted about it before but short version is we had 12 week scan and blood results on same day with 1/13 for all trisonomies and decided to have a cvs straight away but had to wait at the hospital for about 4 hours).

Hopefully this time it will be better, it helps hearing that others found it ok.

@TinklingTheIvories hope all is ok with you.

I've not seen any movement yet, going to start watching!

It's my Friday night tonight as off the next 2 days. Celebrating with some toblerone! Have the exciting job of visiting some nurseries tomorrow, feels ridiculously early but I think it's the way it is in London.

Spindelina · 21/03/2017 20:45

Tinkling this might be tmi back... are you sure which hole the blood came from? Piles are pretty common in pregnancy...

TinklingTheIvories · 21/03/2017 21:36

Spindelina - I've had piles before and it's not that. Just keeping an eye on it all. Nothing else so far and baby is still happily kicking away. I'm taking that as a good sign.

natienka · 22/03/2017 07:07

I have scratched myself twice before which causes a few drops of blood at a time Hmmthat was when I was taking drugs during and after embryo transfer (some need to be shoved up there, yup) and freaked out each time but it didn't show up again and it definitely meant all was fine, so try not to worry too much!

Notyetthere · 22/03/2017 08:04

Tinkling how are you today? Hope the bleeding has stopped and baby is reassuringly moving in there.

OP posts:
TinklingTheIvories · 22/03/2017 10:03

Hi ladies. Had an even smaller drop last night. But nothing today. Baby has been moving lots too, so I'm putting it down to one of those mysterious things that happen during pregnancy. Didn't sleep too well last night thinking worst case scenarios but that meant I was feeling baby move all night which is great Smile

Bodies and specifically pregnant bodies are very strange!

ButterflyFree · 22/03/2017 10:10

@TinklingTheIvories If it's just a very tiny speck then hopefully it's nothing to worry about at all. As you said, pregnant bodies do plenty of weird and wonderful things! Especially due to the general increased blood volume during pregnancy.

I'm bleeding pretty much daily from my nose (only when I blow it, not gushing nosebleeds or anything), and from my gums 😩 it's horrible but not painful. Just another one of those pregnancy things.

danigrace · 22/03/2017 10:10

@glitterglitters haha it's easy once you're in to it, just have to readjust when buying lunch lol.

@Kitsandkids I think the standard at our hospital (from talking to friends, no personal experience) is a week. Did they not give you a set timeframe for your diary? Glad it seems to be okay xx

@mynameisntLinda how was the hypnobirthing? Hope you had fun. I'm reading and listening to "Natal hypnotherapy" at home and am really enjoying it. Lot's of people recommended it to be and it's much much cheaper than our lical courses which wouldn't be DP's thing at all!

@ButterflyFree glad you got the mole off, how's it feeling today? And how's your SIL doing?

@TinklingThelvories how are you today? I think that's quite normal but must be scary nonetheless! Sounds like you have a lovely weekend planned

@Seahawk80 so so sorry to hear that. And yes I reckon things like that def feel much worse when stressed. I hope you enjoyed your chill evening. Let us know how the nursery hunt goes!

I'm also loving all the movement - baby still crazy kind of active here, sometimes feels like speedbag punching or rapid high intensity work out kung fu is going on in there haha. Was talking to mummy friends at the weekend and none of their pgs were ever like that they said, DP always said he wanted a "fun energetic" baby, and his wish may be being granted... 🙈 haha

LuciBee231015 · 22/03/2017 10:17

I had a nose bleed yesterday morning when I blew my nose. It's been bloody for a few weeks when I blow it but that was my first actual nose bleed. They do say it's because of increased blood volumes. My gums have been ok tho.

ButterflyFree · 22/03/2017 11:09

Thanks for asking @danigrace - the mole removal was completely painless, so glad I got rid of it!

My SIL is just playing the waiting game poor thing... there's a shortage of incubators and they're trying to get one available in the next 2-3 days so that she can deliver. In the meantime she's on bedrest in hospital and still being pumped full of steroids to speed up the baby's development as much as possible. The doctor has set Saturday as the deadline by which she must deliver, so we are praying that an incubator can be located in time.

rhodes2015 · 22/03/2017 11:15

I've had a bloody nose or waking up with dry blood in nose for about 2 weeks. and it's sore to breath up my nose at night, so after a few really bad nights sleep I looked up a nasal spray you can use in pregnancy called sterimar (its seawater so natural) and had a lot better night sleep last night as it kind of lubricates the inside of your nose. Its also a natural decongestant.

Had a right game getting it though, the woman on the Tesco pharmacy refused point blank to even look if they had it in stock nevermind if it was suitable and said they wouldn't give me anything as I was pregnant?? Told me to make an appointment with GP. I really didn't see the need to waste a GP appointment for a sore nostril!
Another pharmacy down the road checked, double and triple checked it was suitable in pregnancy/breast feeding (it does say so on the box) and sold it to me.

Seahawk80 · 22/03/2017 15:32

@rhodes2015 I used the saline nose spray when I had a cold, it's def ok.

The nursery visits were a real contrast. The first was fantastic, I was really impressed and the hours were better for us. The second one was awful, really grubby and set in a terraced house so it was cramped and a bit dingy. I couldn't understand why anyone would choose it, then they told me the price and I realised it was quite a bit cheaper. We'll go for the first one as the grandparents will be able to help out a bit so with that and tax credits the cost difference isn't huge. I would recommend visiting a few places. I've already seen a the ones that my nieces go to so I'm happy to register at the first one knowing that it's very good.

Seahawk80 · 22/03/2017 15:33

@ButterflyFree thinking of your SIL I really hope they find an incubator and that everything goes as smoothly as possible

Spindelina · 22/03/2017 16:59

Seahawk when we visited nurseries five years ago, we had a similar experience. Not so much with price, but we visited two, one of which was joyously vibrant and one of which was silent lockdown (though to someone else, I'm sure it was a calm environment compared to the other one's chaos!). It was just so obvious which was was more "us".

Exactly the same thing happened with schools too.

natienka · 22/03/2017 18:23

Re nurseries, the one in the park next to us has ONLY 18-24 month wait. Two years. So basically you should sign up when you're just thinking of a kid, not even when you're actually pregnant!
