The downside of a babymoon is that I had 2 weeks in the lovely warm weather and now that I'm back my painful nipples in the cold are as bad as ever! It's horrible, I don't even have to get cold, just a small drop in temperature sets them off and once they get painful there's nothing I can do except endure 10-15 mins of agony! Our kitchen at work is a bit colder than the office and I end up almost in tears after having lunch Sad

ButterflyFree · 19/03/2017 19:10

Ouch @Seahawk80 you poor thing! Is there anything you can use to help ease the pain/insulate from the cold? Like put Vaseline or something? I'm completely clueless but that's probably what I would try if it happened to me... for me Vaseline is the answer to almost everything 😅

Incidentally on our babymoon last week I noticed the sticky-out mole I have - which is rather inconveniently right where the hem/underwire of my bra sits - has got bigger. I know it's normal for moles to change during pregnancy but I thought it best to get checked. I've always been meaning to get it removed anyway as it's in such an annoying place.

Went to the dermatologist recommended by my OB-GYN today at the same hospital where I do all my prenatal appointments. Thankfully she said it looks completely benign, but definitely better to get rid of it due to its placement. Just waiting for insurance approval (otherwise it would cost the equivalent of £900 for a simple 5 minute procedure!!) and will get it whipped off tomorrow hopefully. Anyone else noticed changes to any of their moles?

glitterglitters · 19/03/2017 19:14

@ButterflyFree yes. I've had a few more. There's increased melatonin during pregnancy I think so you've got to be careful in the sun. More skin tags too. I ended up with melasama on my lip during 1st pg which I can't shift 😱😩

wildone81 · 19/03/2017 19:54

Not very chilled here I'm afraid..ended up at maternity assessment because I realised I hadn't felt any movement since first thing this morning!

Absolutely lovely midwife gave us both a full check up though, and heartbeat was as strong as unusual... little toad has just tucked him/herself away behind my placenta so I'm not feeling them as much.

Feel rather foolish now, but it's true what everyone says....midwifes really are just happy to find out everything's ok!

glitterglitters · 19/03/2017 20:06

That's a relief @wildone81 and don't feel foolish! You have every right to make sure your baby is alright! Xxc

natienka · 19/03/2017 20:09

Good to hear about the moles - I started wondering about mine on my belly and one on underarm a few days ago - they did seem a bit bigger but obviously the one on my belly I don't want to mess with now... I'll ask the MW in a week and a half but feel reassured now!

Seahawk80 · 19/03/2017 20:14

Thanks @ButterflyFree - nothing helps! I have tried woollen breast pads and multiple layers. My mum and sisters both had it too. The upside is my sister said the caesarean recovery and breastfeeding were nothing in comparison!!

Reading it back I thought my post sounded a bit ungrateful- am so lucky to be able to go on a babymoon. Just feeling sorry for myself after a long weekend at work and in agony on the way home with cold boobs! V jealous of everyone's shopping!

@wildone81 glad all is ok. You def did the right thing - I'd be straight in if I was worried.

CatRash · 19/03/2017 20:25

Glad to hear moles and skin tags being mentioned. Have noticed a couple new moles and a new skin tags.

No stretch marks yet but have got some lovely purple broken veins pop up on my tummy. Hope they fade afterwards.

DH felt baby for the first time today!! The cat is now busy incubating baby - wonder if he notices the movement too.

Think I've starting nesting in a weird way. DH came home from work today to find that I'd turfed all clothing out if the wardrobe, took everything off the hangers to go through the hangers and chuck any i don't like. Wtf?! DH asked if he should be calling an ambulance because I'd clearly gone crazy.

mynameisntLinda · 19/03/2017 20:38

I never got a linea nigra last time and my belly button didn't pop (coz it's a bloomin canyon to begin with)...but I have noticed it's started getting hairy again. Not like leg hair or anything lol. More like a spent fuzz all over my belly.
I agree 're the birth somyory/house story thing. I banned people telling me their birth story unless it was a positive one and watched only positive birth stuff on youtube. Obem was banned too.
Dipped into the next sale at my local store and picked up a few more bits. Really struggling to find nice stuff that isn't friggin pink and frilly. Sleep suit with a tutu..really? I totally get that im in the minority but being "not girly" myself makes me hate the pink overload. Didn't notice how gender specific baby clothes are until I'm trying to shop for a girl ...ok moan over lol

glitterglitters · 19/03/2017 20:43

@mynameisntLinda honestly. H&M all the way! Next aren't too bad but they can be super frilly. H&M do cute girlish but still tomboy clothes. Hoodies and the suchlike. Also a lot of unisex stuff as well 👌🏼

Spindelina · 19/03/2017 21:33

I've found Boots to have good baby clothes. Bright and cheerful.

mynameisntLinda · 20/03/2017 06:58

So far most of her stuff is from next and a couple of bits from debenhams. But it was next that had the frilly babygro. Yeah forgot about boots, they had some nice scandi style stuff last time. The boots near me is tiny but will have a mooch next time I go to the Trafford centre.
H&m is a good shout, I never go there.

DrewOB0 · 20/03/2017 08:24

Morning all! I hope you had good weekends. WC jab today (ouch)

glitterglitters · 20/03/2017 08:50

Pregnancy brain has well and truly set in. Just left my handbag, complete with phone, purse, cards and over £100 in cash on my wheelie bin outside my house. 🙊 thankfully despite being there for TWO HOURS it was there when my fil ran back to my house to it. Thank goodness for find my iPhone 🙈

Notyetthere · 20/03/2017 10:14

Drew the jab itself doesn't hurt when they administer it. The pain kicks in about a day later when it is all very tender and you can't sleep on that side for a few days.

Glitter that is scary. I don't know whether it is reassuring that people are either not observant and minding their own business or that they noticed it but didn't dare remove it because it's not theirs.

glitterglitters · 20/03/2017 10:17

@Notyetthere tbf I live in a very residential area and I'm one of the very few people who isn't out at work during the day. Our green bin is quite tucked in under our door frame as well. It could have been, quite simply, nobody walked past in that time. Just glad it was still there 🙈 feeling like a right numpty about it though.

DrewOB0 · 20/03/2017 18:06

I have a Mat B1!
The bump suddenly got a lot more active this weekend (21 weeks)

LuciBee231015 · 20/03/2017 19:38

I've just pumped up my birthing ball, figured I'd get it up early and do some moving around on it as may help with the lower back pain. I'm loving it!

Seahawk80 · 20/03/2017 20:25

My midwife didn't sign my matb1 - has anyone got one that they can check and see if the midwife has signed it?

ButterflyFree · 20/03/2017 20:54

@LuciBee231015 we use those inflatable workout balls in the prenatal pilates classes I've been attending - great aren't they! I should get one for home too, good idea to get yours inflated and use it already.

LuciBee231015 · 20/03/2017 22:11

Seahawk, the midwife signed mine. Bit odd that they have given it to you and not signed it!

Yep thought I would get the ball going early! Really enjoyed sitting on it tonight. I'll use it during labour as well hopefully

danigrace · 21/03/2017 09:07

@Seahawk80 mine was the opposite, signed and dated but filled in my own details.

For any train traveller mummies you can pick this up now, it's free.

Due July 2017 #4 …… Well into 2nd Trimester! 20 Week Scans and Bumps Galore
Seahawk80 · 21/03/2017 09:24

Thanks guys, have my anti D appt in just over 2 weeks so I'll get her to sign it then. Am not looking forward to it. I've made a late afternoon appt and will be telling work that they were running really late so that I can just go straight home!

glitterglitters · 21/03/2017 09:26

@danigrace that's a good picture! I always look slightly unhinged in passport pictures :)

glitterglitters · 21/03/2017 09:27

@Seahawk80 I don't blame you. I sat and had a cup of tea with my midwife once in 1st pg because I was so desperate not to go back to work 🙊
