Think I've sent you a dm!

LuciBee231015 · 15/03/2017 13:57

I haven't felt baby move much at all today. Hardly anything compared to usual... hoping it's just sleeping 😳

LuciBee231015 · 15/03/2017 14:05

I got one little kick straight after that post lol. Hopefully it picks up a bit later.

Also, over the past 2 days I think I may have felt Braxton hicks... has anyone else had those yet? My stomach goes really hard right low down and feels like loads of pressure, then goes after a minute or so...
mum 26 weeks on Friday. Is it a bit early for those?

I've just ordered the book 'Birth skills' too. I've read all of my pregnancy books, so need a new one! So went for one purely focused on labour... yikes!

danigrace · 15/03/2017 14:09

@mcnics all sounds very exciting! Fingers crossed for you! You're doing well to declutter and sort now, I bet you'll thank yourself for it in the other side!!

@LuciBee231015 my friend I recently birth partnered had those regularly from about now and even went into hosp with them twice bc they worried her (everything was fine). It was her first baby and she had only 3 hours of 'proper' labour and only 5 mins of pushing(!!) so maybe they will serve you well Grin

LuciBee231015 · 15/03/2017 14:27

Really!! That would be good wouldn't it! Here's to wishful thinking!

Spindelina · 15/03/2017 15:26

Squeee! I've just found out that DD's best friend's mum is pg. That's my social life for maternity leave sorted out, then.

LuciBee231015 · 15/03/2017 15:33

Spindelina that's great! I have a friend due 2 weeks after me and another due about 4 weeks after that so I have maternity buddies too!

DrewOB0 · 15/03/2017 18:08

I don't have any pregnant or even mother friends at all :( most of my friends in their 30s are still single. It's pretty lonely day to day

Seahawk80 · 15/03/2017 18:33

@LuciBee231015 I was reading something yesterday that said bracton hicks could start around now. Maybe eat something sugary - that always sends my baby wild - and a good excuse for an unhealthy snack 😂

Welcome @nat2311

natienka · 15/03/2017 18:45

Huh, is that what it is Luci? Maybe I'm feeling them too! But for me they are quite uncomfortable, as pressure feels really tight and like it's pulling down (holding my bump helps relieve it), and they often come when I leave house and am on my way somewhere - so I thought it was just related to movement. But maybe it's Braxton Hicks?

I'm so excited, went to this Empowering Pregnancy and Birth event a week ago exactly, in a different part of London, and chatted to this girl that was at the same hospital. She found me on FB later and it turned out she lives a street away from me and is due 22nd Jul, 6 days after me! So excited. She's also expecting a boy. New friend, yay :)

Spindelina · 15/03/2017 19:03

Drew you'll be OK. I only know this woman because of DD. Are you doing NCT or any other antenatal classes (yoga or whatever)? That's a good way to meet people.

mcnics · 15/03/2017 19:08

Yay to mummy friends! My best friend is due 5 weeks after me, my cousin @ButterflyFree is about 4 weeks after me and then another close friend is due in Nov so I'm super lucky to have lots of friends going through everything at similar times!

ButterflyFree · 16/03/2017 07:09

Good morning ladies, just back from our babymoon in the Maldives and it was amazing; such a beautiful part of the world and I highly recommend it if any of you ever get the chance to go there. DH fell in love with the place (having not been too excited to go) and is now planning a family trip back there next year with baby!

The only bad part was yesterday on the journey back... it was monsoon-like rain and thunderstorms all day (after being picture-perfect sunshine and blue skies for the first 4 days) and we had to take a boat out to our seaplane, then fly in the seaplane for 45 minutes to reach the main Male international airport to get our flight back to Dubai. Our seaplane made a stop at another resort to pick up 2 more passengers, so we had to take off & land twice in this tiny little thing in the midst of a storm. Upon landing at the second resort the rain got heavier and we had to wait a good 40 mins bobbing around on the rough sea before we could take off again. And I vomited!!! Twice!!! 🤢 I was mortified. Never had to use one of those nice little airplane sick bags before in my life! It's the one and only time I've thrown up during pregnancy though so I'm extremely grateful for that. I really feel for anyone who suffered with morning sickness.

There was quite a lot of turbulence coming back into Dubai as well but luckily I was fine through that. I kept wondering how it felt for poor little baby though 😥

Anyway, I'm off for my 20 week scan today so fingers crossed the little peanut will cooperate this time and uncross his/her legs so we can know what we're having! So excited to find out.

Seahawk80 · 16/03/2017 07:49

Exciting @ButterflyFree - hope you get to find out! I'm sure the baby was well protected from the turbulence and didn't notice it!

DrewOB0 · 16/03/2017 08:49

Morning all! I've had such a bad week and turning into a walking carb. Need to contain the cravings for bread and eat a bit healthier. I put on nearly 1/2 stone between 16 and 21 weeks :s

LuciBee231015 · 16/03/2017 08:57

Drew I did exactly the same. Between 16 and 21 weeks I piled on half a stone or maybe even a bit more! Lots of movement from baby today so I feel all good again, must have had a sleepy day yesterday.

I'm jealous of these baby moons! We can't afford one unfortunately!

Seahawk80 · 16/03/2017 09:51

@DrewOB0 me too - I used to be so healthy! I had to give us cycling to work early on due to bleeding. Then it was freezing cold and icy and now I think it's too late to start again. A bit of walking, yoga and swimming don't feel enough to make up for the fact that my carb intake has tripled!

Any other cyclists on the thread? How long are you planning to cycle for, this nice weather is tempting me to start again!

rhodes2015 · 16/03/2017 10:07

Good luck in finding out the sex of your baby today butterfly

I'm very jealous of the baby moons too! Sounds amazing butterfly!! We can't afford one either, we would love to have a holiday with baby before I go back to work next year though.

Me too drew I've had my biggest weight gain this week since being pregnant.... nearly 5lbs in 1 week! (Put on 1stone 5lbs overall so far having put nothing on at all in the first 12weeks)
Must.eat.better! Grin

DrewOB0 · 16/03/2017 10:41

I put on 4 kg so far, but that's after losing them at beginning of pregnancy

Spindelina · 16/03/2017 10:46

Seahawk I cycle to work. It's only about 15 mins, but it's quite up and down. I'm getting stitches really easily at the moment (even when just walking) so having to take it easy on the bike - but I'd have to take it easy if I walked (which is my other option - don't have a car and the bus would take longer than walking, even at my pace!).

Planning to give up when either it gets uncomfortable or I can't make it up the hills. It saves me nearly an hour a day, so keen to keep going!

danigrace · 16/03/2017 11:41

Enjoy your scan Butterfly! Your break sounds lovely.

raises hand another former fit and healther piling on the pounds lol. I still exercise a decent amount & do 3 classes a week but I stopped running (I have naturally very loose ligaments anyway and thought that combined with relaxin and running in the hills with no phone reception [unavoidable where we live but previously v enjoyable] probably wasn't the best idea anymore); and whilst health issues stop me eating crap, I've been eating a LOT - polished off 2 nakd bars, a bowl of granola & yoghurt, and almost an entire decent sized tub of olives throughout the evening after a proper dinner yday Blush

danigrace · 16/03/2017 11:51

Put on 10kg so far in this pregnancy and just googled what that is in stone and immediately wished I hadn't!! (1 and a half...). But I'm taking solice in the fact that my skinny minny sister put on 4 stone and pinged back to a 6/8 without much effort within a few months (she breastfed), but she runs around more than me and eats less... However for now I will keep deluding myself lol. But saying that she put all that weight on whilst staying very active (even spent 3 months backpacking round east Asia doing loads of walking and physical activities everyday, returning home at 31 weeks! She also only eats 'good food'). Obviously every body is different so I don't think it's worth stressing over, better to just enjoy being pregnant!!

nat2311 · 16/03/2017 12:13

I've always been one to watch my weight and try and keep on track (normally fail) but enjoying not having to worry about my weight for now!

I think I've put on about 5 pounds so far but I know I definitely lost in the first couple of months just not sure how much!

DrewOB0 · 16/03/2017 14:31

Ok, I have all my appointments booked for next 7 weeks and booked antenatal classes. That was hard work

LuciBee231015 · 16/03/2017 15:38

Wow thats organized! I have NCT starting on 22nd April and my next midwife appointment is on 31st march when I'll be 28 weeks
