Bit worried as my MS has ceased and my boobs are not as sore. When does this normally ease a bit??

Pheebe · 09/04/2007 08:28

Hi All
Hope you all had a lovely easter break. We had all the family round, very tiring but great fun.

Sparkly, ms and other early symptoms do ease up for most people towards the end of the first trimester. My ms has eased alot the last few days, I'm 10+5 today. Of course if you're really worried call the midwife, if you're past 7 weeks she should be able to find a heartbeat for you with a bit of perseverance.

Hi all hope you all had lovely weekends. Makes me glad I'm not working -though I do wonder how on earth I fitted everything in before!! We visited friends for a barbecue and I (stupidly) had some chilli chicken (even though I love chilli, last pg even the mention of sweet chilli sauce made me gag) so spent the evening with my head down the loo

I phoned the Dr this morning to chase my scan (as he'd mentioned that they now scan at 10 weeks)and it appears the doc got it wrong. My appointment isn't until 3rd May!!! I'm so frustrated. MS has now gone and I'm not as tired either. The only thing I seem to have as proof that I'm pg is my increasing girth and the fact that my boobs have grown back to their original size. I nearly bought another pg test today just for reassurance!

apeainapod/Loopymumsy - FWIW I was totally manic and constantly angry, for no apparent reason, when pg with DS (I even threw a pint glass full of water across the room at DH at one point) I was very chilled with DD and feel the same this time (so far....[fingerscrossed emoticon])

How's everyone else doing?

I have my scan tomorrow and my appointment with the consultant. Feeling really fat.

iris66 · 10/04/2007 20:59

good luck

miabl2 · 11/04/2007 11:54

Most of my friends who had problems all had bleeding so I'm reassuring myself with that. Though I have got ms, its only natural to panic at the beginning but there's no reason why we won't all be okay. I just got my date through for my scan which is 14/5 when I will be 12 weeks so I've got a lot of worrying to do till then!!!

Ah ha found you Loopy...I recognised the grrr.

SparklyGothKat · 11/04/2007 15:57

The scan was over too fast. Am 9+5 weeks which is in line with my LMP. saw the baby's head, legs and heartbeat
Had to have lots of bloods taken because of my history and the consulant wants some special tests done to see if its chemical that is causing me to go into preterm labour.
Have been booked in for scans every 4 weeks.

iris66 · 11/04/2007 16:26

oooh congratulations SparklyGothKat I'm so glad it all went ok

...wonder if we'll get any twins on the thread (I don't think I'm having twins anymore - don't know why - I was almost convinced before)

Pheebe · 11/04/2007 16:43

Thats great news Sparkly. Hope you got some lovely photos. My scans booked for next week when I'll be 12 weeks exactly.

DH and everyone keeps winding me up that it could be twins. We have them on both sides of the family and I've been so so sick with this pregnancy, totally different to ds.

Goodness knows how we'd cope!

SparklyGothKat · 11/04/2007 17:53

have to also take aspirin to thin my blood as the doc said it might be triggering labour??!!

yep was in the room for 1 1/2 hours, with the midwife and the consulant. They took 7 viels of blood though

SparklyGothKat · 11/04/2007 18:13

forgot! They stuck a big yellow sticker on my notes about GBS and to let the midwife know that I have to have IV antib. as soon as I come in labour.

nykate · 11/04/2007 18:52

SGK-Congratulations!

My scan is 8/05 and it seems FOREVER away! I'll be 12+4. My DD1 and DD2 were born in the US and my doc scanned at my first appt(usually 6-7wks) to get a heartbeat. Always made me feel better right away. This pg seems off to a slow start...I guess it's the waiting for the MS to stop and to be pg enough to tell people. My waist is getting really thick already (third baby seems too much for my abs to handle) and I can't wait to put on my stretchy waist trousers!

Thanks Loopymumsy- I see MW at 10+6, so I will go ahead and ask her to find the heartbeat. This pg was a bit unexpected, so I think it will help it all feel more official

SparklyGothKat · 12/04/2007 00:06

pic of my scan added to my profile

Pheebe · 12/04/2007 08:23

Aw SparklyGothKat your pic is fab!!!

My lovely lovely MW has just left after my booking appointment. I'm soo thrilled. She's really supportive of my having a home birth (last one wasn't) and managed to get the heartbeat too(it was really strong!!!) i'm all excited now and much happier now I know there's a baby actually in there

choudru · 12/04/2007 11:32

Hello ladies,

Thought I would join in the fun. Due on Nov 4th God Willing. Have DS who is 2 in May.

Have been feeling very sick all the bl00dy time. MS lasted 16 weeks during first pregnancy but am really hoping it doesn't last as long this time.

Have been 'lurking' for a couple of weeks but only today had enough will to live to muster up energy to contribute!

Have to admit the sickness does get me down rather a lot. Am normally quite an active person and have lately been reduced to lazy lump on the sofa. Been spending a lot of time at mum's and she helps out a lot with DS.

But having said that, yesterday I barely felt sick at all and this morning feeling sort of ok. Could this be the turning point?!

KnaphillLiz and Sparkley - my DS was born early too. Emergency c-section at 31 weeks. Sparkley it sounds like they are giving you the extra monitoring you need this time. I have Strep B as well - I shall demand a yellow sticker too

I am a little worried I won't make it to 9 months this time either.

I hated pregnancy so much last time, part of me thinks my body just couldn't wait to give birth!

Good luck to everyone. It's so nice to have the moral support

I'm so jealous of you guys who have had your scans. Mine is on 1st May.
