apeainapod · 27/03/2007 12:56

Helloooooooooooo?? Am I the only around in the mornings?

BeansterMum · 27/03/2007 14:08

Ahh - two tests later and the little lines are still there
Dates work out for 30th November - anyone else out there for end of Nov? DD is 2 in May and really looking forward to seeing the two playing quietly together
Having moved north to Central Scotalnd last year don't know many other mums up here - especially as I work full time - anyone out there in the Stirling area?
All very exciting though - trying hard not to compare last time and also keep sensible head on - just all very jolly really.

Jonze · 27/03/2007 14:10

I caved in and called my private OB. I haven't committed to go private, but if I didn't call now, I knew that I wouldn't be able to get a spot with him. I just want to hear the heartbeat, and know if it's one or two babies I'm carrying (worried, as I getting much bigger than last time, much faster...and I'm not even eating much more!).

BeansterMum · 27/03/2007 14:16

OMG - Hadn't thought of the twins issue
wondering exactly how things are done up here re scans etc in Forth Valley NHS if anyone knows - In lancaster with DD first scan was at 12 weeks then one at 20 with booking visit at 10? Should I expect this again?
Good luck with your scan though Jonze

There seem to be a fair few of us worried about twins or is it that everyone's tums have just gone to pot (in my case, quite likely! )- roll on the scans so we can find out!!!!

Jonze - had a feeling you'd cave in lol - hope you manage to get an early appointment.

oh, and welcome aboard beanstermum & woody2

woody2 · 27/03/2007 21:25

I am also very worried about the 'twins' possibility!!!(really don't think i'd cope)!!!
My DH is a twin & also my nan, so i think that could increase our chances just a little.
My MS is very bad at the mo & was wondering if this could be a sign of twins or am i just being paranoid!!!

tryingfortwo · 28/03/2007 08:49

Hi Beanstermum - congratulations!! My dd will be 2 in May too and I'm due end of November. I'm not in Central scotland, I'm through in the West. Last time in this area I had a scan at 12 weeks and then another at 20, I know that in other areas in Scotland it is the same but I don't know about Stirling area. You don't get another scan after that unless there is something wrong. When you go for your midwife appointment they always let you listen to the heart beat. The ante-natal care down here is excellent. I'm just hoping I get the same midwife this time as she is just brilliant - Avis.

iris66 · 28/03/2007 09:22

I woke up this morning with a distinct absnce of MS - I'm feeling full of energy and decidedly springlike too! It's a very strange feeling as I don't not feel pg but without the MS & tiredness it just feels so strange (starting to wonder whether I got my dates wrong now - it'd make me 12 weeks if I have which would explain the way I feel but I did have a proper AF in Jan ? I really really want that scan now (not that I'm impatient or anything

miabl2 · 28/03/2007 11:25

Morning everyone,

Sorry haven't posted for ages, work a bit hectic. I'm still hanging in there now 5 weeks today. Beanstermum I'm in Dundee and the scans here are about 11 weeks and 20 weeks so I reckon Stirling would be about the same. Hope you're enjoying Scotland. Hope everyone is well after the weekend.

Jonze · 28/03/2007 13:04

I'm going to be seen when I'm 10 weeks (couldn't get an earlier appointment because he's going on holiday). Got an early pregnancy scan for Friday, and my bloods to be drawn on Friday. Can't wait for my scan...actually could have gotten done today, but I don't have anyone to look after ds today or Thursday, so Friday it is. Can't wait!

Tummy is significantly bigger, but I still don't have any ms (hah, watch me jinx myself with this one!). My dad (the OB) keeps tellling me to take it easy...yeah right, with a very active 3year old and a less-than-helpful dh. Well, keeping busy ks preventing me from going mad until the nuchal scan.

FCH · 29/03/2007 13:58

Hi, I haven't been around for a while, but lots has been happening. I'm now 9 weeks and not sick but very hungry and have already put on half a stone as I am far too breathless to run. I don't have a bigger tummy yet but my bum and thighs are expanding pretty rapidly! I had a scan at the end of last week and saw the blob (it doesn't even look like a bean really) but best of all heard its heartbeat - it was so wonderful particularly as this is a first for me and my hubby.

BTW Loopymumsy I am also based in Plymouth so when you arrive feel free to give me a shout!

snig · 29/03/2007 14:01

hey have just seen the midwife and have a due date of nov 2nd so can join this thread. Hurray!!!!!!!!

iris66 · 29/03/2007 14:33

Congratulations snig!

FCH - I'm so of your scan. I want mine nooooowwwwww!! [hormonal stamping foot emoticon]
I'll trade you my tum for your thighs and bum if you like though I lost tons of weight after having DS last Jan and I've still not much of either (think stick insect after swallowing a golf ball )

Jonze - good luck for your scan tomorrow

Hope everyone else is keeping ok. DS is asleep so I'm going off to attack my ironing pile (joy) TTFN

SparklyGothKat · 29/03/2007 18:39

I have an appointment with my consultant in 2 weeks My sister (lisad123 in the due in oct 07 thread) said that not everyone sees the consultant, so they must have read those my notes, and referred me. Thank god for that.....

SparklyGothKat · 29/03/2007 18:42

Whoops forgot to update you. Still feeling poo during the day, really tired, keep getting headaches, and feel very faint if I am out and about and need food. Poor DH was holding me up around ASDA yesterday, till I got some food. Have been helping MIL pack up her house as she is moving this week, but DH, MIL and FIL won't let me do anything so I just sit on the sofa, reading, its fab!!!!

Jonze · 30/03/2007 11:30

Well, had my scan this am, and it has me a bit worried. Only one yolk sac, but the dates the gynecologist was estimating was 2 weeks later than my LMP dates. I'm pretty confident in the LMP date because it coincides with a positive OPK. Not sure what to make of this. I have to come back in 2 weeks for another scan. Either I really screwed up on my dates, or the fetus is very small for dates.

iris66 · 30/03/2007 14:57

Jonze - sorry you've had a confusing scan - must be difficult not to worry but could you have just concieved a bit later than you thought? (I read somewhere that it's being more widely accepted that you can ovulate at any point during your cycle) At least you'll get confirmation in 2 weeks eh

SGK - poor you still feeling rough - (still eating loads here and pining fruit/acidic food like mad)

I've just got back from a lovely lunch with some mates - the temptation to spill was huge though, especially when everyone started talking about whether/when they were going to have more children I tried to just smile and not say much but it was sooooo hard!

stripeybumpsmum · 30/03/2007 15:34

Hi all,

Been super busy in the day and needing masses of sleep in the evening so not posted for a while.

I've had my booking in appt with my midwife (hmmm, not sure I can tolerate her for another 6 months but hey will be consultant led anyway). Today is 10+6 by LMP but 8+4 by scan. Just the same as last time - egg and sperm spend a couple of weeks hanging around my uterus, having long walks and candlelit dinners before they decide on a long term relationship.

Feel like a bit of a freak after booking in: Rhesus Negative, last pg emergency CS, last pg hyper emesis, high genetic chance of PND. Who said it was a natural process!

Actually feel ok about it all. MS though eveil is reassuring for a pessimist such as me! DH is being lovely looking after me and DS (15 months) is being especially cute so reminds me it is all worth while.

Anyway, that sounds all a bit motherhood and apple pie so I'll go now!

Hope you are all doing ok.

x

Jonze · 30/03/2007 15:41

Thanks iris66. My only consolation is that I also calculated 2 weeks early with ds. BUT I had massive ms with him. With this one, nothing. Never thought I'd be hoping for MS!

apeainapod · 30/03/2007 16:25

Hi

Jonze - Sorry to hear about your scan, with DS2 the sonographer said that 'oh dear - not sure come back in a fortnight - just like you. A fortnight later they said Goodness me it's grown!! Fingers crossed for you.

I definitely think this is a girl - I feel absolutely awful 24 hours a day - STILL. And I am so exhausted and I don't actually do anything!!

Either way I saw 'splodge' for the first time this morning, plus a heartbeat - which was rather lovely actually. Apparently due Nov 12th.

Today I recieve another appointment for a scan on the same day (11th) as my consulant appointment (he has requested it) It said on the letter that my antenatel notes need to be be done before this appointment. Anywooo I can't get an appointment with the midwife at the GP till the 12th, so I phoned the hospital and they said that as I am under a different hospital out of the area, I have to ask them.
I phoned up the other hospital and they were so rude to me. Asking why I was under a different hospital, and that I shouldn't be phoning them In the end my sister phoned the appointments clerk and she was very helpful, told me to pick up a maternity note book from reception and then the midwife at the appointment will fill it in.

Me and my sister have been shopping for maternity clothes today as she has a huge bump and I am finding that my jeans are getting tight. We found some lovely ones in choice which fit well

Can't believe I need maternity jeans already. Am normally a size 8 and didn't show with my other kids until I was about 20 weeks, but my jeans were begining to cut into my tummy. My mum is impressed with my little bump
Still throwing up every morning. And feeling faint if I don't eat every 2 hours. This past week we have been at MIL as she is moving this weekend and I missed a few snacks and felt terrible.
I can't believe I will see blob again in 11 days wasn't expecting to see it again until about 12-13 weeks.
