So I'm now 6+3 and the sickness has kicked in with force. Literally feel sick all day every day and been actually sick 2-3 times every day. But could have been more except I really fought against it. Very difficult when you have a long train journey to work then spend day in office! Miserable! Am having private scan next Sunday so am hoping a positive scan will lift my mood :-)

thisismadness77 · 07/03/2017 12:20

Two days until my early scan... feeling terrified after 2 m/c the last being a mmc at 12 week scan (a year ago tomorrow).

DancingUnicorn · 07/03/2017 13:21

Sorry you're feeling anxious thisismadness. Really hope it shows everything is ok and you are able to relax!

abcdemma · 07/03/2017 16:55

Ooooh my MW appointment has been brought forward a week so its in 2 days instead of next week! Starting to get a bit exciting, but only tentatively...

Sorry to read about the recent losses Flowers Flowers

BrioLover · 07/03/2017 18:23

SO BLOATED.

That is all.

CritterPants · 07/03/2017 19:16

emvy had been thinking of you and praying it was going to be good news. I am so sorry, you must be devastated.

unicorn I'm so sorry. I hope you can cuddle with your dog - pets can often support us through awful times.

under that sounds really scary. Good that you know now, so they can monitor you carefully and look after you during the pregnancy. You must be incredibly anxious.

Hope everyone else is doing ok and sorry to hear of sickness and good news about happy scans.

Has anyone had dizziness? I haven't experienced this in previous first trimesters. Nurse says it's normal but curious as to whether anyone else is having this! I feel like I'm on a ship or have been drinking and the room spins when I lie down or get up or move my head.

emwithme · 07/03/2017 19:38

Think I'm going to be out (officially) tomorrow.

Started bleeding at lunchtime, had some really sharp cramps and passed some clots. Am having a scan at the EPU tomorrow (when I'll be 7+3 by my dates). Not holding out much hope though (DH is being an absolute darling and was fabulous and stoic - which I needed - I sobbed on him for half an hour earlier and then said that it may be twins and we'll just be left with the evil one, which is what I have joked about my stepmother over the years which is also just what I needed). I am spending tonight on the sofa with chocolate and shit TV in the knowledge that things have probably ended for me but with a little glimmer of hope that they haven't.

So it's a waiting game and I have about 15 hours to wait.

Can someone please invent Tellytubby-style tummies please? A TV screen into my womb would be reassuring (or would let me know I can have a giant gin & tonic, some rare steak and blue cheese sauce)

TippetyTapWriter · 07/03/2017 19:45

I've started to feel a bit dizzy too in the last couple of days critter. It doesn't sound as bad as yours, more of a head rush type feeling when I stand up after sitting on the floor. I got it last time too and once fainted quite impressively on a packed train when I had to stand up on the way into work! Funnily I was just googling it now as I'd forgotten all about this lovely symptom and it's to do with our blood vessels relaxing apparently causing low blood pressure (mine was pretty low at my booking in appointment).

Sorry you're so anxious thisismadness. It's understandable after what you've been through. Hope you can find ways of distracting yourself for now. Best of luck for the scan x

TippetyTapWriter · 07/03/2017 19:47

Sorry emwithme, cross posted. Really sorry about the scary symptoms. Fingers crossed everything will be ok. Crap tv and chocolate sounds like a very good idea.

PlayOnWurtz · 07/03/2017 19:49

Sorry to hear that em rest up and hope it's just a random bleed. Chocolate sounds a must have right now!

yoyozozo · 07/03/2017 19:50

Will be thinking of you tomorrow emwithme. And critter yes to dizziness. It's like my only symptom - still not enough nausea and "feeling pregnant" for my liking at six weeks..... Hope you're not finding the headrushes too weird.
X

krakentoast · 07/03/2017 20:04

Sorry to everyone who has had bad news, and thinking positive thoughts for those with worrying bleeding Flowers

I'm now at 9 weeks and have had my booking in appt with a lovely midwife, who gave me a giant plastic folder packed with information about all kinds of things including breastfeeding and yoga (!) and booked me in for an early scan because of my medical history with a couple of things. It's exciting in some ways but I'm just so scared of stuff going wrong.

I still haven't actually vomited but feel constantly queasy and SO BLOATED like you BrioLover. At the moment my idea of a balanced diet is probably not quite following NHS guidelines. I mean, it's about 100% salt and vinegar chipsticks.

CritterPants · 07/03/2017 20:08

Oh emwithme I'm so sorry you're having this uncertainty. If it helps, my doctor told me that 50% of pregnancies with first tri bleeding go on to produce healthy babies. I had red blood and clots when I was pregnant with my now 20 month old DS in the first trimester. Apparently there are a lot of blood vessels mashing together at this stage. But I know it is totally terrifying and horrible. By the way your husband sounds like a treasure, so glad he's so supportive.

Glad I'm not the only one with the dizziness tippety and yoyo! Reassuring to know it's normal. Smile

PlayOnWurtz · 07/03/2017 20:08

Seabands are saving my sanity at the moment I recommend them to those of you with sickness nausea and dizziness. I've used them for vertigo before too they're bloody brilliant x

pollybythesea · 07/03/2017 20:21

I agree play - thought it was in my head, but forgot to wear my seabands today and by lunchtime I was bedbound with nausea!

Funny kraken - I'm addicted to chipsticks too? Strangely refreshing!

Emberblu · 07/03/2017 20:38

Sorry to hear all the bad news Flowers

So wanted sea bands to work for me but I wore them for several days since Saturday and I was still throwing up, constantly nauseous and no appetite/all food is disgusting to me... but I've heard they work for many so worth a try!

BumblingBee89 · 07/03/2017 20:39

emwithme I am so sorry to hear that you're having such a worrying time Sad . My only experience is that I have bled in two pregnancies, one which did end in a very early miscarriage and the second one was with this pregnancy at 6 weeks, and a scan sound everything was perfectly fine. I'm really hoping you get good news too and your DH sounds wonderful Flowers

BumblingBee89 · 07/03/2017 20:43

Feel like I shouldn't post this now but I just to update for anyone wondering. I had my reassurance scan today and was extremely relieved and happy to see that everything is absolutely fine Smile We saw the heartbeat really clearly and even got to listen to the heartbeat too. I can't believe how much baby has grown since our scan at 6 weeks (I'd had some bleeding at 6 weeks which is why I had a scan then)

It was worth every penny. The midwife said I am measuring 9w1d rather than 9w5d but she said it's nothing to worry about as they're measuring something so small there is always room for error.

Hope everyone is going OK. Did someone mention chip sticks before? Because I've been eating them like they're going out of fashion Grin Oh, and also, boiled rice. Loving boiled rice at the moment!

krakentoast · 07/03/2017 21:23

All hail the chipstick gang! I bought so many packets of chipsticks and monster munch at Tesco the other day, it looked like I was opening up a 1980s-themed corner shop.

BumblingBee that all sounds really positive Smile

Seabands look great, going to try them!

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 07/03/2017 21:34

Am 7+2. Went to the toilet at 6.30 and was spotting, more pinky rather than bright red, was still happening at 8.05 but just went again and nothing there now when I wiped /rummaged. Am on progesterone which I know can irritate the cervix and am on fragmin and aspirin so blood will be v thin and not easy to clot if there is anything minor happening. Just praying that all is ok in there. Used back door for the progesterone tonight and going to phone EPU to see if they can scan me this week as I'm not due back there until 16/3.

Emwithme sorry to hear your news, everything crossed that things are better than you hope at the scan tomorrow.

PlayOnWurtz · 07/03/2017 21:39

Keeping everything crossed for you loopy

Glitterbubble · 07/03/2017 23:27

Omg salt and vinegar chip sticks for me too!! Thought they were so old school I'd be the only one!! Got to love Costco haha. Because I haven't noticed them anywhere else!!

Thinking of you em and loopy. Hoping for good news asap

boxesoffrogs · 08/03/2017 06:44

Good luck today emwithme

ThatGirl82 · 08/03/2017 08:41

I hope you get reassuring news today Em, you must be incredibly worried but it seems there are some positive stories of other people experiencing the same but going on to have healthy pregnancies.

I'm 7+4 today and have been feeling so ill since the weekend. No vomitting but constantly nauseous. I have been eating S&V rice cakes, hadn't thought of chip sticks, will keep an eye out! Also marmite on toast is my saviour, and most things savoury really. I'm really struggling with work and haven't taken any time off sick yet, partly because I'm really busy but also because I'd feel I would have to tell my boss why I am so ill so she doesn't think I'm being flaky Sad. Can't wait to feel normal again!

yellowfrontdoor · 08/03/2017 08:42

Em & loopy hoping everything's ok with you both Flowers

My cramps seemed to ease off last week but now they're back with a vengeance. They even woke me up in the night. They're a dull cramp though as opposed to a sharp pain, and not as bad as my usual period cramps.
I'm in a very physical job and it's hard to snatch any time for a break. I think I need to be a bit kinder to myself!
