has anyone tried the rennies fruit tabs?theyre yummy I go through loads at nite tryna rid blasted heartburn

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 02/03/2007 11:07

Hello all
I've got all the after pain stuff sorted. Imagine what it's like for me !!!! As soon as baby is born I take 2 ibuprofen then 2 hours later 2 paracetamol and so on. I was told my a midwife that you must not hang around with this but take them and take them at regular intervals and keep taking them for the first few days. IT WORKS. last time the whole business was entirely bearable. I have stocked up on lots of drugs

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 02/03/2007 11:12

Hi Hanifah, yep, welcome to the end of pregnancy. Stuff rennies, I've been on the hard prescription drug antacids since about 20 weeks. I get through a large bottle a week . Rennies wouldn't touch my heartburn!!!

Piffle · 02/03/2007 11:16

kitty I was told you cannot take nurofen if you're breastfeeding
But hey codeine is fine? [shrugs]
Hanifah welcome, I am heading like you I think, every time I stand it's like too much pain

TheBlonde · 02/03/2007 11:17

Piffle - thanks for the afterpains warning
I will follow Kitty and buy drugs!

Welcome Hanifah - I have B12 deficiency too so they have attempted to label me high risk too. I'm going to see on the day if I can get into the homefromhome birthing unit at St Thomas'

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 02/03/2007 11:18

Piffle, strange isn't it. I was told ibuprofen was fine once you weren't preg

sazzybee · 02/03/2007 11:18

Hiya hanifah
I'm still on rennies. I bought a box of 72 the other day and was quite excited at the prospect that they might be the last box I ever buy!
It's quite good having an induction date - means no one bothers asking me if I've had it yet. Not looking forward to the endless calls after. I'm going to do a group text and hope people leave me alone after that. I hate talking on the phone at the best of times.

Piffle · 02/03/2007 11:29

kitty just googled it, it says small amounts pass through but not thought to be toxic.

I'll make sure I'm stocked up

rosylonginglily · 02/03/2007 11:43

Oh yes after pains! I need to stock up too.

Hi Hanifah fellow irish person! I'm in Belfast area, dh lives and works in cork and travels up and down like a lunatic.

I'm on gaviscon, pretty yuk!

rosylonginglily · 02/03/2007 11:46

Where's foxy? wonder if things are hotting up!

shanks313 · 02/03/2007 12:23

Hi everyone

Our beautiful baby daughter was born 1st March at 5.11am.She weighed 6lb.

We have called her Deanna Eliza Teryl

They were going to do a ventouse delivery as babys heart kept dipping but just before they could do it,I delivered her by myself, everybody was shocked lol.

Was released home last night so very tired.

divastropwantstodrop · 02/03/2007 12:29

hi hanifah
my best friend at school was from dublin originally.

rosy-dp and i got engaged when we'd been together for 3 weeks.we will get married when we can afford it .he always refers to me as his wife when hes talking about me,but i think its a term of abuse in these parts

sazzy-isnt it horrible waiting to be induced???im so bored now...

i find my after pains are minimal but that will be cos i dont bf i suppose.

ive had nothing for days but today i am having really strong bh's again and back pain.i also feel emotionally 'normal',like i've had PMT for 38 weeks and today i've come on my period and am able to see logic and reason again

38+2

divastropwantstodrop · 02/03/2007 12:30

shanks-x posts,congratulations!!!

she shares a birthday with me,and i was born at 4.55 am.

sazzybee · 02/03/2007 12:36

Fantastic news shanksy - congratulations! And well done for being able to do the final push on your own - I'm dead impressed.

Yes - waiting for the induction is very dull indeed diva. My mum is coming to stay with me next Tuesday though so I've only got 4 more days of aimless drifting/spending money before she starts making me join her in the cleaning/gardening frenzy that she insists on

muppetisacat · 02/03/2007 12:55

Congratulations shanks! Great news - well done on escaping the ventouse - they aren't the best of things. We were wondering when you'd pop! get posting some photos when you can!! She shares her b'day with diva and rosy!

Still haven't heard from Bethoo!

Welcome Hanifah sorry to hear about your heartburn etc. These last few days are just awful.

Foxy's gone quiet on us!!

All aches and promising pains from me have disappeared. Really thought having the show on monday would mean i'd have had him by now! I'll probably be the last to go now

39 weeks

Leoladyofleisure · 02/03/2007 13:15

Many congratulations Shanks and well done !!!!!
Wow, I can't believe you are home so quickly!

Are you going to come and join me & Callie on the March 2007 post natal thread? Its a bit quiet at the moment.

Piffle · 02/03/2007 13:41

Shanks hooray a little girl to even up the boy count!
Hope you're resting up and enjoying your days with your new baby girl

Wow out they come!

foxabout2pop · 02/03/2007 13:43

Shanks - congratulations - funny, we had a virtual party last night for Diva and Rosy and we didn't even know we were celebrating Deanne's birthday too!

Piffle - I took Ibuprofen when BF DS - LOL at your 2 shredded wheat supper

Rosy - am very of your 4 breakfasts. I just had a sandwich and two custart tarts, followed by some chocolate

Hanifah - welcome - not long to go now. I'm on Gaviscon too (or "minty sperm" as its affectionately called on MN)- glugging it like there is no tomorrow.

Went for a walk around M&S and contractions started again, but as soon as I rest they stop. Lots of lower back pain and pains down inside legs, which make me want to lie down. I rang QC birth centre and they advised me to cancel my induction on Monday even if he hasn't appeared, and just wait to let nature take its course....

Come on Monti!!!

39+1 (Monti baby)

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 02/03/2007 14:03

SHANKS, HOORAHHH!!!!! Glad you are both doing well. We've been waiting to hear from you !! Do post pics and let us know all the details when you get the energy

Muppet, I'm afraid the 'last one here' place has already been reserved for me and maybe Mossy

Rosy, how long is your dh staying with you this time?

Dp collected the new car/bus/ huge thing this morning. f*ck me but it's bloody enormous. I can't possibly drive it. I'll have smashed it up and all the other cars that I drive past too.!!!!!!

Booboobedoo · 02/03/2007 14:33

Congratulations Shanks! Welcome to your little girl. Aaaahhhh. Glad you managed it without anything being shoved up ya fanjo!

I had some contractions last night foxy: 3 in total. . I was woken by quite a painful one at 4:45. It lasted about a minute. 10 minutes later another one, then ditto. Then I fell asleep. Sigh.

Am majorly stressed today as I had to chase 23 - 23!! - sets of parents who haven't sent in term fees. My baby's due tomorrow, and they can't be arsed to stick a cheque in the post. I left messages for all of them telling them that due to the ammount of money owed the school will have to close until September if I don't receive their cheques by Monday. This is not what I need the dy before my EDD.

On the other hand, DH took the morning off to take me to have my blood pressure checked (we both want a Homebirth so much), and it had fallen to 130/87. Phew.

Am on MN now trying to wind down, although I still have some Feckin' accounting to do.

Hope everyone's enjoying the sunshine.

EDD TOMORROW!
Boy

Chocolatepenny · 02/03/2007 15:10

Well done and congratulations to Shanks. I am getting quite of all these babies arriving when I know mine will drag on for another 3 weeks...to add to that MW has just told me baby has turned back to back on me, god know where he found the room to turn. Going on birthing ball until he decides otherwise.
2wks 5 days to go

Chocolatepenny · 02/03/2007 15:17

Hi Hanifah
I just moved for Purley in Croydon last summer, in fact I had 2 clear days of enjoying new home before the conception I reckon. Mayday hasn't got the best rep but I had a minor opp there and I found it OK, its just in a crappy place and looks like a 60s relic,..bit off putting. God luck and hope baby makes a move soon.

foxabout2pop · 02/03/2007 15:28

Boo - am racin' ya!!!

I lay on the bed for about 90 minutes this arvo and was getting contractions about 11 minutes apart!! Now they've bluddy stopped of course

Kitty - you'll get used to driving that monster of a vehicle. Have you passed your PGV test? (you know, the bus drivers one)

Booboobedoo · 02/03/2007 15:46

Foxy: I'm worried all the adrenalin I'm getting from this work-stress will make me late.

Also should stay off contentious MN threads.

LunarSea · 02/03/2007 15:53

Am getting a bit of all those for whom things are happening. Reckon I'll be another contender for still here chatting to myself when everyone else has moved onto the post natal threads!

Some good news today - offered a job to my one remaining candidate from yesterday (would have been nice to have a choice, but beggars can't be choosers, and he seemed ok) and he's accepted it. But, in the meantime the person I've been training to cover for me (and who'll then have to train this new guy as I'll be gone by then) has announced that he's going to leave. So it looks like I'll be spending the next few weeks writing detailed instructions on how to do things!
