New thread before the old one explodes!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LaidbackinEngland · 02/03/2007 15:55

Congratulations Shanks Hope you manage to get some sleep .... it's amazing what your body is capable of when they are coming at you with a hoover or salad tongs

Boo - hope you get your cash.... people can be so unreliable when it comes to paying for things.

Maydayers.... don't worry about what the fabric of the hospital looks like... it really is the staff that count in my opinion. I had heard that the Mayday had improved too.

Piffle LOL at your description of your last births on your homebirth thread. Had visions of you being likie Moses parting the red sea. Tempted to get some plastic sheeting myself ...just in case .

Come on Foxy ... where is that Monti ?

LaidbackinEngland · 02/03/2007 15:57

Lunar ... if they can't be bothered to organise TIMELY and RELIABLE maternity cover for you then surely it is their responsibility to train the new guy and make sure he is up to speed. Give yourself a break woman.... you are about to give birth !

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 02/03/2007 15:57

how have I been duped into having 2 sets of ds's friends home???? 4 boys between the ages of 7 and 8 all wrestling each other in the sitting room. ATM they are laughing, soon there will be tears. I am hiding in the spare room
Foxy, when I got my license they gave you carte blanche to drive pretty much anything .
Good thing about this new monster truck is that there is NO BLOODY CARPET on the floor. How fab, I never have to drag the hoover out to the car again. Dust pan and brush and a floor cloth and , hey presto, all clean

LaidbackinEngland · 02/03/2007 16:02

kitty - is it a sherman tank ?

LaidbackinEngland · 02/03/2007 16:03

Leo has a picture of the twins on her profile..... can't wait to see my boy now !

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 02/03/2007 16:06

I hope my baby's not ugly . Some of mine have been , eh, less than lovely at birth.

divastropwantstodrop · 02/03/2007 16:07

booboo-you dont need that sort of hassle when you're pregnant.why do parents send their children there if they cant be bothered to pay,or even have the decency to contact you if theres a problem with paying.

penny-crawl round on all 4's as wellit worked for me.

im getting slightly concerned as i havent felt lo move today yet.normally i dont even think about it,its just that its been so active most of the time i only notice when its quiet, and this is only the second time its happened.

Jaysecond · 02/03/2007 16:08

Hi and welcome to newbies, and big hi to Shanks, congrats on your daughter, hope you are enjoying her. Look forward to seeing some pics

Hi to everyone else hope all those with contractions continue, and those without start!!

Hot curry take out tonight for me.

divastropwantstodrop · 02/03/2007 16:17

awwww-i want one!!ooh,i should be getting one next week

my babies were all quite cute, especially dd2,but i spent a whole week after having ds1 saying 'is his hair really ginger?'

i think my baby is moving, just not very much iyswim.i dont know if its just cos s/he's too big now and im not used to getting this far in preg,or if baby's head has engaged further.but all im getting is the odd gentle prod rather than kicked the c**p out of .

Hanifah · 02/03/2007 16:27

Leoladyofleisure · 02/03/2007 17:11

So, if you click on my name now you will be able to see a picture of my lovely babies !
I was trying to put one up of DS1 as well, but it doesn't seem to be working!

foxabout2pop · 02/03/2007 17:16

Hanifah - yes, this thread is mega busy - its quite easy to lose the plot at times - spcially for me |

Kitty what car R U getting? You did tell us, but can I remember anything anyone has said?

Lunar - I agree - you should be getting a bit demob happy now and thinking "sod them, I'm gone soon"

Boo - where are these contentious threads then?

I'm feeling a bit . Just had a call from a friend who's baby is due same day as me and she had her baby last MONDAY - not only that but her Dad flew from Italy to look after their DS when she went into labour. Mine can't even drive down the fecking road to look afer his grandchildren.

Anyway I have hit the bottle and am drinkiong a spritzer and its not even 6pm

Laidback - am off to look at Leo's prifile and the twins

foxabout2pop · 02/03/2007 17:17

Leo - they are beautiful!!!!!!

I WANT one NOW!!

sazzybee · 02/03/2007 17:56

Foxy - I'm sorry your dad's being a bit of a shit.
Hanifah - I'm going to be induced next Friday. Well I'm going in Thursday evening so hopefully the baby will be born on the Friday. He'd better turn up then
I had my hair cut today - they made a major fuss over me but were all saying that they think I'll go early. I hope not - will make a terrible mess ooh and this woman touched my belly! It's the first time a total stranger has touched me - very weird . She was grinning at me in a slightly disturbing way too.
kitty - I'm convinced my baby is going to be the ugliest little monkey boy you ever did see but I hope that I will be full of 'isn't he gorgeous' hormones and I won't realise until he's older

TheBlonde · 02/03/2007 17:58

Shanks - well done! many congrats

Leo - lovely pictures

Everyone else... enjoy the weekend but beware the full moon

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 02/03/2007 18:46

Your babies are just lovely Leo, you must be SOOOO proud!!!!

Foxy, it's a Mercedes Vito. I'd love a drink, but alcohol makes me burn like a furnace, so, so disappointing.

Booboobedoo · 02/03/2007 19:10

Leo they are completely beautiful. Well done you for growing them so well! You lucky, lucky lady.

Foxy: I was just having a mild barny with Greensleeves about a particular method of discipline I occasionally use at my school (on the AIBU threads). Really no biggy: just a difference of opinion. I'm just feeling a bit wobbly today.

Am most of those of you with induction dates. I know it's not supposed to be ideal, but at least you know when it'll be over!

DollyPopsOut · 02/03/2007 19:19

Shanks, many congratulations on your daughter's birth. What lovely news! And another girl to even out the numbers.

Leo, your babies are beautiful and DS1 is a complete cutie as well.

Diva, I was very sorry to read about your gran. What sad news for you all. Hope you are OK.

Sazzy - I think I have joined you in the polyhydramnios club. I went for my anti D today and the MW asked what was being done to manage it. When I said nothing, she filled in a form for a scan and measured my fungus - 42cm!!! . As I am only 36+4 this is a bit generous. She was very cross that the GP had been so laid back about it and said that I might need to see the obstetrician. I am booked for a CS at 39 weeks anyway, but obviously they need to know if they will need sou westers in theatre as I flood them out .

Hello everyone else! Hope you are all revving up for some full moon baby action tomorrow

XXXXX

foxabout2pop · 02/03/2007 19:39

Dollypops - LOL at your flooding poptential

Boo - About time we had another birth anouncement soon....I think its up to you or me honey

I saw that thread - the sarcasm was uncalled for I felt (GS's not your's)

I just introduced a friend to MN and she was lurking today - she said she was shocked at the amount of vitriolic bile on some threads. I warned her to keep away from anything to do with Breast v Bottle, Working vs sahm's and faith schools, but she still managed to get into a fight LOL!!

Kitty - I was hoping to be able to pass an intelligenet and informed comment about your choice of car but I don't know the Vito. Sure its loveley though and has at least 8 seats presumably.

foxabout2pop · 02/03/2007 19:39

"potential" not POPtential

divastropwantstodrop · 02/03/2007 19:58

boo/sazzy-having an induction date doesnt necessarily mean you know when your baby is going to be born.i went in to be induced with dd2 on the sunday morning and if i hadnt pushed for a membrane sweep when they wanted to send me home on the tuesday morning,i couldve ended up having her on the thursday or friday.
i'm hoping this one will be like dd1,but without the ridiculous pain and evil mw's giving me pethadine against my will and refusing to tell xp to piss off for me.i would like the speed of dd1's delivery with the calm, relaxed atmosphere of dd2's delivery

the baby is defo moving now but i think s/he may have turned round (getting ready to come out??)and im not feeling as many movements.

i woke up in a good mood but now im ready to kill somebody again.where are these contentious threads?

i still havent seen a breast v bottle debate.i dont see how you can debate it personally.if somebody called me an evil bad mother for ff i'd just say 'fair enough'

sazzybee · 02/03/2007 20:12

lalala not listening diva My baby is going to be here next Friday or I shall be very cross indeed . Actually they've said they'll give me a c section if it doesn't work so I will have him by the weekend.
Dolly - I'm sorry to hear that! That's even bigger than me! I was 42cm on Monday but I was 37+4 - the week before I was only 39cm. Welcome to the world of uncontrolled flooding. I realised today that I can push the baby's bum down and he bounces back up again. I probably shouldn't do that should I?

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 02/03/2007 20:31

Boo, I'm dipping in and out of that thread, just posted what some might say is a contentious post (I wouldn't), but don't think I can stand the heat !!

Foxy, it has 9 seats

Dolly, is this the first time you've known about the ample waters you've been carrying around?

TheBlonde · 02/03/2007 20:38

9 seats does that mean you will be going for no7??

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 02/03/2007 20:49

no, no, no, no ,no, no,
It's for the ferrying of extra children there always seems to be one, could fit some in the footwells and boot too
