just a quick post to say that just going over to employment to get some advice as to if we need legal advice as my dp has just had his job offered to his subordinate in the same meeting, and another job offered to him at the same time which he doesn;t want, and been told he will be contacted shortly for his decision, which they assume will be to move don't need this crap

divastropwantstodrop · 28/02/2007 16:47

booboo-from what ive read about high bp in preg over the past few years the theory that resting can bring it down its utter bull.it's probably just a blip which smetimes happens, and most hospitals only admit women if there is also protein in the wee.(that was certainly the case every time with me).

of cousr your bp could have gone up cos you're about to go into labour....

foxabout2pop · 28/02/2007 16:55

Hi everyone - feel like I can't keep up today, though I have been a-lurking ...

Lunar at your e-mails
Mossy - how many minutes until you leave work then ?
Very excited about Shanks and the missing girls (Bethoo and leo)

I had a few mild period pains last night and was so excited I couldn't sleep, but they have amounted to nowt today

Woke at 3.30am and am shattered.

Well I am going for option 4 and have 3 people lined up tonight for 2am phonecalls. Think I'll forget about trying to get the kids to school on the big day - they can have a nice day off and they'll remember it as a special day

Thanks for your votes

Kitty - didn't call you as I am so knackered today - too tired to make sense. Must get an early night tonight

sorry to all those whose posts I haven't replied to - did read them, just can't mentally deal with info atm!

foxabout2pop · 28/02/2007 16:57

Sponge my sympathies - that's the last thing you need right now

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 28/02/2007 17:01

Spongecake you poor thing. It's really not what you need right now. Hope it works out and you get good advice.

Foxy I have 59 minutes left! Glad you made a decision.

Booboobedoo · 28/02/2007 17:38

Thanks for the sympathy mossy!

Thanks diva. One of the things I find so valuable about this site (and this thread in particular) is the wealth of experience you can just tap into.

Does BP rise when you're about to go into labour? Having lots of Period Pain type twinges and a bit of back pain.

Mustn't get excited though. Could be another couple of weeks yet!

muppetisacat · 28/02/2007 17:39

Mossy... 22 minutes left - bet you're not at your desk and your computer is already switched off!

sponge - hope you get some decent advice re the job situation - sounds like pretty disgusting way to treat people.

Good luck to all those hoping to go into labour tonight - hope shanks is doing well.

lynniep · 28/02/2007 17:42

Waaah. Have just come back from my weekly MW appointment, and DC has not budged at all so v. disappointed. Still 3/5 engaged, still measuring 38cm (which its been for the last month) Plus she was also kind enough to tell me ve got 'a bit of a flabby pouch under there'.
I know that, thank you so much. I can see it in the blinking mirror, just underneath the vast expanse of stretchmarks and above the humongous thighs. Never mind, she says, it'll take some work to get your tummy down afterwards. Yes I know that too. A blinking load of work. Leave me alone to scoff my biscuits woman...Anyway, chances of DC arriving on the 3rd are slim, but you never know

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 28/02/2007 17:42

Foxy, try and get some rest. Call if ever/whenever you feel like a chat, it's always lovely to natter .

Spongecake, poor you, why do these things always happen at really crap moments. I hope you manage to sort something out.

Boo, hope you're doing what you've been told now and are starting to feel better

Mossy, it wouldn't let me look at the pics . bet you're soooo relieved about finishing today!!

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 28/02/2007 17:44

Muppet do you think I'd get away with that here? Nope, I'm here until the bitter end. I have just been deleting any personal emails from my inbox!

I'm just going to do a final check through my draws and files in case there's anything I need to take home!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 28/02/2007 17:44

Lynn what a lovely supportive mw you have. Does she look like Elle Mcpherson then?

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 28/02/2007 17:45

Xposts Kitty yes I am relieved!!!

Tomorrow I'm waiting in in the morning (I caved in and ordered a Flat Screen Telly from Argos for the front room, which gets the sun of a day, so really it's for dh, he's the reverse of a vampire! Hey, it's being paid for courtesy of NatWest!) and then in the afternoon I'll take the dogs for a nice walk, make a stew and have a lovely long sleep!!!!

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 28/02/2007 17:46

Xposts Lynn as well (don't know if I xposted or just didn't see it ) next time you go and see the mw take a packed lunch of nutella butties with you! See what she says about that!

lynniep · 28/02/2007 17:49

Actually, I inadvertantly got my own back whilst I was there (nothing I did deliberately) - she spilt my wee pot down herself whilst checking my protein

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 28/02/2007 17:49

Serves her right!

spongecake · 28/02/2007 17:59

am slightly more cheerful as have remembered we have legal advice on our house insurance so called them and the poxy company don't have a leg to stand on. bastards (sorry)

meanwhile back at pregnancy central feel v tired and sickly- when I lay down bump seriously doesn;t like me to move or get up. have totally lost my appetite. am at docs tomorrow and dreading it as when have to lie on bed to be measured can't get up again-she says "roll!" yeah, like I can move to gain momentum to roll on a 2 foot wide trolley bed 4 feet from the ground.

muppetisacat · 28/02/2007 18:00

Mossy - i'm impressed!

Lynn - at your mw... can't believe what some people think they can say to you once you're pg.

foxabout2pop · 28/02/2007 18:27

Lynn - PMSL at your MW covered in your wee!!!

Mossy - you can now start to enjoy your wait for the LO

Kitty - I meant to have a nap this afternoon but came on here instead!

Boo - period pains - you mean mini contractions don't you?!!!

am getting very !...wait for me!!!

Jaysecond · 28/02/2007 19:40

Evening all! No word from Shanks yet then??? onder if theres another baby in the world yet?

Have had a friend, her 10 mth old and my Mum over today, god i was in a fowl mood for some reason. All they wanted to do was 'chivvy' me along and keep me from being bored, all they actually did, in my eyes, was make my tidy house a mess and ask stupid questions, i had to stop myself from biting their heads of. Normally i am quite the sane and reasonable one but today i was untalkative and un co-operative this baby has turned me into a monster!

Amie, only natural to feel nervous, try and relax and let things happen, all will come right!

Lots more of BH going on and those period type pains, i too am in that club, nothing to major but definatley a move in the right direction am hanging out for the 3rd so much i almost feel like its my real EDD!!!

Lynn, re the split WEE....Thats what i call Karma, what goes around comes around, hehehe!

Welocme to the ladies in waiting on leave club Mossy, hope yr tv comes in good time for you, dont overdo it though, THREE things in the afternoon....id just go for the sleep, let the dogs in the garden and then order take out!!

DH away tonight, back tomorrow eve though, but it means i got to eat a bar of chocolate and some hot cross buns for my dinner!!

divastropwantstodrop · 28/02/2007 20:04

i walked all round town then all the way to tesco in the bitter wind and bought the last 2 pineapples(only eaten one sofar),then got the kids from school and have only just sat down(apart from 5 mins earlier when i was drinking a brew and posted that about the bp thing),and still nothing.

i have only a few hours left of being in my 20's and i couldnt care less, its just going to be another boring day to me.

jay-i have been in a foul mood today also.i feel like i have pmt,the kids were driving me up the wall with everything they did,and i had a go at a man in tesco cos he queue-jumped.

i think i am just very annoyed that i have to go past 38 weeks, and im in a strop about it.

Jaysecond · 28/02/2007 20:22

i know i shouldnt laugh but i couldnt help it when you said about being in a right 'srtop' Dive, that word summed up my feelings today too! It awful how we con ourselves into thinking we will pop when in actual fact we should really hold out till the due date, and THEN fet in a strop about it....like i said on my post b4, this sat is my due date according to my mentality, but as my Mum keeps saying, 'you have another week till your due date' - like, 'i REALLY dont care Mum, now leave me alone in my own fantasy world!!!'

Jaysecond · 28/02/2007 20:23

*strop.... grrrrr!

sazzybee · 28/02/2007 20:25

Thanks booboo You are very kind
If it makes you feel any better, last Monday my BP went up to 141/98. When they made me go into hospital the next day having it tested every 15 minutes, it dropped to 117/79. And I had loads of protein in my urine on Monday and none on Tuesday. All very mysterious.
Lynnie - that made me LOL. I hope that vile MW learned her lesson
I am grumpy as hell today too. Perhaps we'll all be cheerier tomorrow. The lady fitting my nursing bra said that she didn't think I'd make it until next Friday when my induction's booked. I bloody well hope I do - if my waters break here I'm going to freak out

foxabout2pop · 28/02/2007 20:57

Moss - made a vegetable stew earlier, inspired by you

Jay - I am in precisely the same mood as you and have been for about 3 weeks. I have told one woman to stop askig me stupid questions (the stalker woman) and I am completely avoiding a friend who is due the same day, 'cos she keeps asking me the dumbest questions all the time and I'm scared I'm going to blow my top at her.

Sazzy - I want my waters to break, as at least then I'll have set timescale rather than be in this waiting limbo.

Diva is it your 30th tomorrow? Sorry if I've forgotten - I've lost the plot a bit this week. I wish I was 30 again . Have a brilliant birthday

I'm awwwf to bed now ....

eidsvold · 28/02/2007 21:05

i've been grumpy for months but put it down to the heat, chasing two very active dds around and oh the pregnancy hormones.

Had some tough times through this pregnancy - with dh's father dying quite quickly after a cancer diagnosis and dh heading off to the UK to be with his family. Trying to support his mum and that from afar. But as my gorgeous MIL said - feels like she finally has something nice to look forward too - with the birth of our babe. Our children are her only grandchildren. sil is not having any so I feel a little bad that MIL is not here to share it with us - although it may be the incentive to get her to come for a holiday.

a bit cooler here yesterday - finally got some rain ( desperate for it - very very dry here)

off to meet a friend for coffee this morning - she had her first last August on dd1's birthday. Have not seen her or the babe for ages.

was going to reply to lots of other things but brain is soggy.

Shanks - hope all is well.

Mossy - yeh - finished work at last!!
