ooo Shanks, we have an online birht going on, well a labour anyway. Keep going with the ball and try and keep your strength up, eat little and often - carbs mostly, make sure you keep hydrated, but most importantly, keep us updated, if you can of course!!!! good luck to you [[hugs]]

Rosey i am with you, once the milk is there, i fair drown anyone/thing that even looks like they are coming in for a feed!!!!!

Welcome linniep, the 3rd is a good positive day.... i wonder how many of us will actually have bubas then....maybe all of us, that would be spooky!

Thanks for the bump comments....i must admit, until i saw pics of it i couldnt comprehend how big it does look!!

Piffle · 28/02/2007 11:05

Yes I too am "blessed" with an oversupply.
It's frightening when your boob is twice as big as the babys head who is feeding off it LOL
Like an ant eating an apple.

Well I've packed NOTHING yet, was toying with it last night when I got the BH's in a row but ran out of steam.

Maybe tonight

LunarSea · 28/02/2007 11:10

Won't be packing anything until next week, when I'm officially no longer working full time. In practice that means I get half days on Tuesday and Friday, but at least it's a start!

Had a couple more people offer to have ds for a few hours in the middle of the night if we get stuck with the inlaws and their no going out after dark policy, so we're hopefully covered now!

OP posts:
AmieR · 28/02/2007 11:32

makes me laugh! All I had when I went to hospital was myself and my green notes! The midwife's face was a picture..

"have you got any clothes for baby?" "no"
"do you hav e a nightdress?" "no"
"don't forget your camera" "I don't have one, I don't have my bag here"
"oh"

hope all with checks and scans go well, and that everyone else is well.

sazzybee · 28/02/2007 11:35

I've got to get my bag sorted. And better get out of here while it's not raining - doesn't look like it's going to last long.
I've just been really mean - I have a completely vile neighbour and a courier has just tried to give me an enormous box for him as he's not in and I told him I wouldn't accept it. I'm going to hell aren't I?
I've put a pic up of my bump on my profile - it was a few centimeters smaller then than it is now

rosylonginglily · 28/02/2007 11:39

Wow Sazzybee, you look lovely! Good bump too!

AmieR · 28/02/2007 12:20

Nice pic sazzy! I just realised I don't have a picture of my bump anywhere... I dn't think I took one! saying that it never got too impressive!

any BF experts here? would my milk have reduced due to me needing to drink more? or can it happen for other reasons too? i was producing lots but it seems to have halved in quantity

1973magpie · 28/02/2007 12:27

Hi All,

Am feeling very fed up and irritable at the moment, so have not been up to posting, sorry

Just feel like locking myself away somewhere until the baby comes !!

Hope everyone is ok, good luck Shanks - am very , as I had a sweep yesterday, and had loads of contractions and then they stopped at 10pm last night . Here's hoping something happens soon, I'm sooo impatient....

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 28/02/2007 12:33

Amie when you say it is halved is that because you are expressing? I mean how do you know it has reduced in quantity? Sorry, being a bit thick here.

Jay, that's a v. useful list ta, I'll refer to it. I do think I have all of it, just not in any place that is remotely useful to anyone !!

I actually find it better to have everything in bags anyway as after the birth noone has to go rumaging round and it's all together.

Good pics Sazzy

Oh and 'hello' lynne

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 28/02/2007 12:35

Ouch, these blooming bh's are doing my head in. so uncomfortable/painful. I don't want another x weeks of this, no thankyou.

divastropwantstodrop · 28/02/2007 12:44

sazzy-no you're not going to hell.i would go mad if a courier tried to leave something of mine with my neighbour, and if they wanted to leave something for her i would only accept it if it looked valuable...

shanks-ooohhhhh!!!well done for decideing to get some sleep rsther than panicing.it helps so much in labour when you're not too tired.

rosy-i couldnt sleep last night either.we went to bed at 2am and i think i got to sleep abput 2.30,then i was up at 6.30(the first time).

dd2.on the other hand, slept a full 12 hours for the first time in ages.

jay-my eyesight must still be dodgey as i read your advice to shanks as 'eat mostly crabs' i was wondering how crabs help in labour till i re-read it for the 4th time

well, nothings happening here, despite hoovering the entire 2 upper floors of this large house.not even so much as a bh.im going to go and see how many pineapples i can afford in tesco.

38 weeks today...why am i still pregnant???

spongecake · 28/02/2007 12:46

morning ladies, and hi to kirsty and sugar

so exciting re all the bh and babies on their way. am avidly ready the posts, shanks you sound v cool. am sure i will be really crap and be really horrid to everyone. have apologised already in advance to dp..am starting to get scared again re the pain and have nightmares re bossy, uncaring midwives.

am about to rewrite my birthplan as scary midwife leaves the practice today, so she won't be there anyway.

have tried the pineapple thing but have od'd on them and now feel sick if see or smell one. don't mind the raspberry tea and dp is being very generous with his contributions

divastropwantstodrop · 28/02/2007 12:46

jay/sazzy-good bumps!i will have to take another pic of mine.

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 28/02/2007 12:50

Lol Diva / Sazzy, how weird I was having exactly the same moan about packages with neighbours only the other way around! It really annoys me when the postie doesn't leave my parcels with a neighbour and takes them to the sorting office instead!

Then again your neighbour is evil Diva I am not surprised you don't want anything leaving with her!!

Jay that's a massive list! But tomorrow I am doing my bag, so I'll try and get some useful stuff in it!

Kitty sorry about your bh's. Hope they don't carry on until the bitter end for you.

Piffle / Shanks my pilates ball arrived the other day; it's bright purple too! Although Arthur (one of our dogs) keeps eyeing it up so I'll have to be careful!

More later Darth's just walked back in. Shanks if you see this, good luck! If not - guess we'll hear from you soon enough with a birth announcement!

Piffle · 28/02/2007 13:19

Amie it could just be that after your milk initially coming in and giving you an oversupply while you establish a feeding routine has levelled out as your routine settles down.

Agree kitty re BH's they have really started getting massive and do stop me in my tracks.
Mossy is this your last day?
Yeehah!

So Shanks has not updated for a while, reckon she's on the real deal, so hope to hear from her and Bethoo soon and I am certain that Leogala must have her twinnies by now
Oh golly this is too exciting!

divastropwantstodrop · 28/02/2007 13:22

i just told dp i will have to get another bag(i have one for me one for baby atm)to put just the things in i will need to take to labour ward.he said'how much stuff do you need, you're not moving in there'so i told him everything that is in the (full)bags already and he said'i bet you i wouldnt need all that stuff'

well,we'll find out when he gets f**ing pregnant ,wont we??!!!

i think he was trying to wind me up.he knows i dont have a soh atm.

AmieR · 28/02/2007 13:29

kitty - I am having to express while Joseph builds up his strength to latch on properly, we put him to the breast first but he can't stay on for long and gets really frustrated, MW said best to do that then express, while Sam tops him up with previously expressed milk.

got HV tomorrow so will ask if what we're doing is OK for Joseph.

So nervous.

Piffle · 28/02/2007 13:31

Men are hopeless at this time, Dp smirks at my nesting as if I'm being cute or something
FFS the baby does authentically need clean bedding and somewhere to sleep you ass, also had dd at 38 wks exactly so getting things ready at 37 wks is not being paranoid or overwrought.
I did wind him up last night though, ds has returned from a weeks skiing with school for half term and his mahoosive suitacse is laying empty on the landing.
I said to dp, hope this is big enough for the emergency bag, I might need you to get another one down from the loft.
He nearly spat his dummy

LunarSea · 28/02/2007 13:46

Mossy - we'll all take packages in for neighbours here, but half the time they just stick a card through the door anyway. I guess it depends where you live - here everyone knows each other, and tbh there'd be very little risk in just leaving things on the doorstep, it's that quiet.

Just had 42 emails arrive in the space of the 10 minutes break I took to have a sandwich - I think they're trying to get as much loaded onto me as possible while I'm still here.

OP posts:
sazzybee · 28/02/2007 14:08

I would take a package in for any of my other neighbours but this one is a thug who has caused no end of trouble in the house (we share the freehold) and I'm not in the mood for having a conversation with him - we barely speak as it is. And it was either that or carrying it upstairs myself.
I thought I was going to pass out in Brent X but I didn't and managed to get my nursing bras. Phew - now I can sit down and relax for the rest of the day.
I'm very grateful that it's just me here - I am such a grumpy cow, it would be horrible for anyone else to be around me

TheBlonde · 28/02/2007 14:21

Hi ladies and bumps

Jay - that list! I am going for the bare minimum and hoping not to be in hospital for more than a night at most

Bag problem here will not be mine but DH's. He will want to take lots of food and drink, books, CDs, sleeping bag and 2 pillows!!

muppetisacat · 28/02/2007 14:24

Piffle - not sure if mahoosive was a typo - but if not ... FANTASTIC WORD... I am going to use it from now on... my bump feels mahoosive... I have mahoosive back ache!!

Have managed to skim quite a lot out of my hospital bag now that i'm not inline for a c-section. Having said that - it's still pretty damn big (sorry... mahoosive) and it does just look like i'm going on holiday. I'm tempted to put my swimming cossie in on the top to see if my dh comments or not.

Mossy - your name pops up on quite a few threads today... not the way to get winner of the week is it??

Amie - sounds like you're doing a really good job with feeding bubba.. I'm sure the HV will put your mind at rest.

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 28/02/2007 14:31

Lol Muppet it's my last day, so I'm not about to get win of the week!

Just had my leaving prezzie; they got me a baby monitor, I already have one now, but until I got the NatWest money through I didn't buy anything! But they kept the receipt so I can take it back. I'm going to compare with the one I've got actually, see which is best and take the other one back. Oh and today's quiz was a British Science Fiction one in my honour. I won by a country mile needless to say!

You know I'm sure I wrote a post about two minutes ago. Computer must have deleted it or something! Anyway in the post I said something about how I could trust neighbours with my parcels now I lived here, but I used to leave only fifteen minutes away by foot and wouldn't have trusted a neighbour with anything!

Amie I also wished you good luck with your HV tomorrow.

And numerous other replies! Don't know where it's gone!

Will look at bump piccies when I'm at home tomorrow, the colour on this screen is awful and the button you use to change it is wrecked so I can't see photos properly!

Booboobedoo · 28/02/2007 15:13

Hi Everyone!

Good luck Shanks - very exciting.

Sazzy: from your photo I'd seriously have pegged you at more like 32. being single obviously keeps you young!

Mossy: hooray! No more Darth!

Piffle & kitty: sorry to hear about rotten BHs (and to anyone else who's having them).

Welcome lynie!

My bump looks like yours Jay, although my arse and thighs have expanded to match it.

Bumped into Dolly at the GPs this morning (she had the appointment before mine) and can confirm that she looks great and is not extra-huge at all: just the right size. So ner Dolly!

I'm due on the full moon too. Wouldn't it be great if loads of us popped on the same day. Lots of little werewolves...

Foxy: sorry I missed your dilemma last night. Think I'd go for 4 as well. Hope you're feeling better.

My blood-pressure had gone up to 127/91 today, which is borderline worrying. I have to go back on Friday to have it checked again. If it hasn't fallen by then they'll check it again on Monday, then the next step is hospital. The doc said it was a warning that I wasn't resting enough. Explained about my work situation and the fact that my house was a bomb-site until a few days ago. I've been told very sternly to rest, and as I don't have kids, I've got no excuse. Came home, burst into tears, threw up then fell asleep for 3 hours. Feel better now.

EDD 3/3 (THIS SATURDAY ARGGHHH!)
39+4
Boy

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 28/02/2007 15:36

Oh Booboo hope you get lots of rest! I can't believe you're due so soon!

All I'm doing now in work is looking at pictures of Wentworth Miller, for the Wentworth Miller cupboard. That will be my legacy. We also have photos of DT in there of course. Here is an example of Wentworth Miller. Doesn't he have big feet?
