New thread before the old one explodes!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Chocolatepenny · 12/03/2007 13:10

Told my DH I had pregnancy torettes and tried to make a joke out of it, cos I have been a right bitch the last couple of days too. Not feeling guilty though cos he's not the one waking up feeling like he's got a hangover everyday.

foxcub · 12/03/2007 13:26

Mossy - PMSL at the logic of that letter writer!!

Dolly - your post made me laugh - I know its not meant to be funny, but at least you stuill have your sense of humour anyway!!

Kitty - I hope you said "congratulations"!!

Had the MV round and wanted to show her my crap latch on so she could give me BF advice. Guess what - Monti latches on perfectly for once! Cheeky Monkey!

kiwibella · 12/03/2007 14:25

that letter is classic!! Hmmm, I can think of one way his parents could have kept the population down .

Hopefully I have just added two piccies of our girlies to my profile.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 12/03/2007 14:34

Kiwi our girls are just lovely, so pretty. You must be so proud!

Foxy, I did manage to say that through gritted teeth. She's so great as a home help that I know it will be almost impossible to better her. However, she's a real self opinionated know -it -all and I have a feeling she be rambling on about her pregnancy and I'll have to pretend to care.

The dr gave dd3 some ab's today, he thinks she has a middle ear infection in both ears poor love. Ds2 has just fallen asleep and dd2 is asleep downstairs. I'm really hankering after spending an evening out free of bump, free of children, free of pregnancy fat, and drinking to my heart's content. This is a fantasy because I have become such a lightweight with alcohol that more than three glases of wine stops me sleeping and gives me a mean hangover .

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 12/03/2007 14:35

Kiwi SORRY, meant YOUR girls not OUR girls duh

sazzybee · 12/03/2007 15:43

I spent so long updating that list that I missed half of today's posts so I shall read them now. Just had to say 'woo hoo' - I'm booked in for an ARM in theatre on Wednesday as LO's head still isn't dropping into my pelvis and despite all outward signs of progress has not moved a milimetre. I'm so relieved - an end is in sight!
Will do a proper post later.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 12/03/2007 16:03

Sazzy, glad you've got some light at the end of the tunnel!!

Mossie · 12/03/2007 16:03

Sazzy what is an ARM?

Kiwi your girls are lovely

I have today made a list of what I want to get done this week. I've given myself several little tasks each day and one big task each day. Hopefully that will stop this feeling that I'm doing sweet fa sat at home and achieving nothing.

On each day I've put down what I plan to make for tea as well. However I realise I've missed something off. I'm going to write

SLEEP

in big letters under each day!!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 12/03/2007 16:10

Mossy, it's when they break your waters for you with a crotchet hook

Mossie · 12/03/2007 16:17

Kitty a crochet hook?

Then again I suppose if you have been waiting for that long it wouldn't make any difference if it was a crochet hook or Hook the Pirate's hand from Peter Pan!!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 12/03/2007 16:22

Mossy, it LOOKS just like one, that's all . But you're right, if you're a desperado then anything is better than nothing!!

muppethasakitten · 12/03/2007 16:47

Trying desperatly to keep up with all your posts still but there is a little person who keeps demanding attention!

Mossy - the heel prick test is to check for thyroid problems and an intolerance to phenylanaline (spell?) and in some areas they also test for cystic fibrosis i think. Basically they prick your baby's foot and squeeze some blood onto special blotting paper. When you are hormonal it is not nice seeing your precious babe having it done... i was a complete wimp!

Foxy - those exercises for divarication of stomach muscles are to lie on your back and relax (at that point try not to fall asleep!) and then pretend you are putting on really tight jeans! pull your stomach in in the area above your pelvis and below belly button. When i first tried to do it - nothing happened! My muscles are really shot! And don't even get me started on my pelvic floors!!!

Sazzy - good luck with the ARM. If you'd been jumping around infront of the full moon like i did - it might have done the job for you! And if they do give you the choice of a crochet hook or Captain Hook's hand I would advise you to go for the crochet hook every time! (unless the hook is actually attached to Jason Isaacs who plays Captain Hook in the recent Peter Pan film... he's quite nice in a scary kind of way... although I don't like him with blonde hair as Mr Malfoy in Harry Potter!)

MistieK I posted the clary sage oil this morning, so you should get it tomorrow or the next day

To all those still waiting, I am sorry you are all so fed up and grumpy, I remember well that feeling, it will get better when your lo's arrive, and in the meantime your DHs/DPs will just have to lump it

1973magpie · 12/03/2007 16:58

Muppet, I have got that divertification of my stomach muscles as well, I think it's quite bad this time as I had it after DD1 but didn't do my exercises

I have been told to lie on my back with my feet on the floor, knees bent, and cross my arms over my tummy, one above my belly button and one below.

Then I have to lift my head and shoulders off the floor, whilst pulling my saggy muscles in towards my belly button, and exhaling. I don't know if they work, but am giving them a shot as I have a real 'jelly belly'

foxcub · 12/03/2007 17:18

ooh must do some of those excercises...

Sazzy - I had an ARM with both DS1 and DS2 when the labour's ground to a halt. Kitty's description of the crochet hook is spot on!!

That should certainly get things going for you and LO.

Chocolatepenny · 12/03/2007 17:27

I was looking for a recipe for the white sauce in Lasagne, I typed in Lasagne recipes, and this came up, its not exacatly what I had in mind .
Sorry its around tea time!!

Chocolatepenny · 12/03/2007 17:28

Arghhh I can't do links,..well its prob for the best as it is very gross

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 12/03/2007 17:47

I'm very tired and very fed up. Nothing special, just feeling crappy. I don't want to talk to anyone, especially the kids. Strangly enough I haven't got a prob with dp, he is being kind and helpful.
It must be something to do with needing to switch off now and concentrate on the birth, but not having the space to do so. I remember this from last time now. Then I feel shitty and guilty for feeling this way and then I tell myself to chill out. It's like having a constant argument with myself in my head.
Sick kids really haven't helped matters.

sazzybee · 12/03/2007 18:06

This bit's so horrible - once again I take my hat off to those of you that keep on having babies!
Mossy - PMSL at that letter! And it cheered my mum up too. I've been vile to her and it's not even like I can blame her for putting me in this position - I'm just so crotchety. When I'm not crying I'm snapping
So despite the fact that all she's doing is looking after me, I'm still being a cow. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be when your DPs aren't being absolutely perfect. I'm just glad I haven't got one or I suspect he'd be under the patio by now!
Knowing there is an end in sight has made a huge difference to my mood though. I was right - have made bugger all progress since last week. What a waste of all those contractions! Now I'm relaxed and very excited!
Chocolatepenny, mistiek and magpie - v sorry to have missed you off the list - I'll do another post with the updated one. Took me ages to find this one so ongoing updates are a must I think!
kiwibella - what gorgeous girls. And foxy - finally managed to figure out where you'd hidden your cub - lovely, lovely
Ahhhh - babies!

Piffle · 12/03/2007 18:09

kitty must be the moon or something - same here
I'm totally grumpy, fed up and cross and bah humbug.
DD is being a delight so I'm fine with the kids tbh, but am just feeling sicky, tired, getting sodding BH's every 10 minutes if I'm not laying down and about every 20-30 mins if I am laying down
I HATE THEM today.
My back hurts and I'm just horrible today

Please let tomorrow be a better day...

Piffle · 12/03/2007 18:10

And Sazzy good luck for wednesday
The arm should go really well as a starting point as you're already dilating so your cervix is "ripe" as they say in the trade.
About time we had another bundle

Gingerbear · 12/03/2007 18:45

Just thread crashing and looking out for my mate piffle - hope those BH's are softening up yer cervix me dear!
Fingers crossed.

rosylonginglily · 12/03/2007 19:04

Kiwi, your girls are gorgeous. Your dd1 looks so happy too which is lovely.

Sazzy that's great you know what's happening now anyway.

Booboobedoo · 12/03/2007 19:05

Hi ladies.

Just popping on to update you.

Threw up at 11:30pm on Thursday evening, then once every hour for 9 hours. Went into hospital and they found protein in my urine and my BP was high, so they decided to keep me in for a 24 hour urine test. However, they didn't decide this until 6:30pm by which time i'd been in hospital for 7 hours, then they didn't get their arses into gear and give me a bed for another 2 hours, so the test didn't start until 9pm.

Slept well and my blood pressure had fallen the next day, and eventually was allowed to go home at 9pm Saturday night.

Got the midwife to give me a sweep before I left, and my cervix is still very posterior and long, so basically there's nothing doing. I'm 9 days overdue, and not a sign.

I really hope you're all ok, but I'm having to stay off MN for now, as I can't bear to hear about people having their babies before me now. I know it's really selfish, but I'm so miserable. I'm probably going to have to be induced, and I wanted my homebirth so much.

Hope you're all ok, sorry to those going mad, and I look forward to seeing you all on the post-natal threads! For now, I'm just trying to pretend I'm not pregnant to stop myself falling apart completely.

41+2
Jonny

DollyPopsOut · 12/03/2007 19:05

Sending big love to Kitty and to all the other fed up ladies. Had my hair done and my eyelashes dyed and feel much jollier. The 2 bars of choc I had on the way home also helped....apparently one woman went into labour in the hairdresser's last week, so they got me in and out rather quickly.

Sazzy - I had ARM last time and it was fine. As you are already up and running, the pressure of the head on your cervix should speed things up! Your baby will be here before you know it.

Booboo mu st still be in transit - thinking of you my love.

Am off downstairs to finish a bit more work and then start the supper. I see a big glass of wine with my name on it. Haven't done so well on the booze this week. Had a glass every other night . I'll abstain tomorrow.
