mistiek - my ds2 is also becoming v clingy. am also v impressed you are still going to church - I've given up last few weeks {shame] cos can't face battling with 2 small kids plus bump plus all the getting up and down/singing. we've gone awol.

eidsvold - duh! to your consultant! lucky that she didn't have you coming in for an early induction or something as well, reading someone elses notes

got a good night's sleep last night so am in a good mood this morning - heaven help rest of family once baby is here. i'm such a grouch if I don't get enough sleep.

morocco · 12/03/2007 08:48

hiya piffle - your dh is being an arse!! (no offense!). he should consider himself lucky you didnt throw the glass at him. my dh is also playing with fire making stupid comments that he thinks are oh so funny. dicing with death!
and he shaved ds2's hair in the bath last night and, big surprise, left all the bits round the bath. so that's my job of the day.

Chocolatepenny · 12/03/2007 09:42

Hi all, See everybody is Bump sick, I know I am, think my body just wants to give up today. Baby has still made no dropping down motion and I am totally breathless just lifting a cup of tea up and down. PLus I have had to take of my engagement and wedding ring because of swollen hands. Feeling feed up cos I know I will be late and I am wondering how to cope.
Diva congrats just seen you have had your LO!

Piffle · 12/03/2007 09:45

Oh at least I've dropped I suppose, but that's as much a blessing as a curse tbh...
it means that every BH now forces baby further down and this causes a range of very odd pains and cramps. Most resembling sharp electric shocks into the least fanciable places....
also means walking is ont to be taken for granted

God I'm not on form today
Am soooooooooooooooo grumpy and horrid...

Mossie · 12/03/2007 09:52

Eids your consultant had someone else's notes? Ffs! Still you must be reassured now I suppose! Hope you manage to cool down.

Jay sorry you were awake. I hope you managed to get some sleep.

Rosy I'd highly recommend one of those bouncy gym balls. They're great! It's the comfiest seat in the house atm! Only trouble is, Arthur (who loves playing with footballs... a bit too much sometimes!) gets a glint in his eye when I bring it downstairs I can't leave the ball and Arthur in the same room without my supervision!

Kitty I think I'm with you, if someone came round to film me I'd be more bothered about making sure the house - especially the dogs - were clean rather than me! But again, like you, it's my natural beauty, it doesn't need much help.

Piffle, I'm very shocked at you wanting half a beer. Don't you know young lady that's incredibly bad for you? You should have two beers, much better! Sorry your dp's being an idiot, sometimes I wish there was a way to simulate late pregnancy in blokes, just for a few days, so they had an idea of what it was like.

Morocco - believe it or not I'm in quite a good mood this morning, too! I'm going to take the dogs on a nice walk in a mo, and I've had apple crumble for brekkie! Does it get better?

Chocolatepenny ikwym, baby is 2/5ths engaged so I get the increased toilet trips but haven't got read of the breathlessness yet!!

Right.... going to have a little wash and then get these dogs walked and the house tidied... as I am meeting a local MNer today! Very exciting!

Chocolatepenny · 12/03/2007 09:53

Piffle IKWYM at this stage its like fighting the small person inside over who's body it is, I lean forward he punches or kicks me till I lean back etc etc.
Mad as it sounds I want to wash the Greenhouse today, so off I go bucket in hand, and pissed off bump who wants me to go back to bed.
1wk 4 days to go.

eidsvold · 12/03/2007 09:57

the results were on a print out that had been shoved into my notes - makes me worry about the other person now. I was surprised as my GP is pretty spot on about things like that.

Thankfully I knew to ask Gp before I went beserk on the iron. I did take 1/2 dose per day but don't have to - thank goodness.

dinners ready - will write more later.

DollyPopsOut · 12/03/2007 10:11

Piffle I have had such melt down this weekend over household jobs. Could I bend down and hold a tape measure so DH can measure the garden? Could I do 500 loads of washing and hang it out? Could I put away every item of clothing that the 3 of us possess? Plus DH behaved like a tw*t yesterday and broke one of my beautiful new floorboards as he didn't think! needless to say, his bicycle looks great, he enjoyed the rugby and did some cooking. I shouted so hard that I made my throat hurt. I cannot bear it. How will I manage with 2 children and him to look after?

My problem is that everyone and everything is annoying me. Hugely. I am an irrational, hormonal bitch. I know I am. The next person who steps out of line will hear about it. all too much for me to cope with. Am being kicked to death as well about every 2 mins which is great on one level but knackering on another. Can't stop eating, weeing or shouting. Am a joy to live with .

Plus I now have cold feet about the CS. I want the baby out, but not vaginally or by the sunroof. Not going to happen is it?

Am going to go and give myself a stern talking to. Will be back on later (and in a better mood!) Hope everyone is doing OK.

Jaysecond · 12/03/2007 10:35

rosy piffle chocolate and Dolly, i too am a hormonal wreck, who picks fights with DH for the littlest thing, i cant stand anything not going my way and i want it all done now..... its a fact i am a bitch, and the worst thing is, i kinda know that i am doing it but seem unable to stop. I think its to do with my total lack of sleep, being overdue feeling like i am 90, - and like a beached whale, and wondering how i will cope after the boy comes, but i also know that once i have had him my rational will return and i will be able to regain some kind of control. Try not to be too down about it all, remember you havnt always been like this and you wont stay like it!

Well i fell asleep on ther setee, but only for about 1/2 hr, went back to bed at 6 30 and DD woke at 730... trying to find a time when i might have a nap....!

TheBlonde · 12/03/2007 10:37

Similar story with household jobs here... I requested stairgate repair, lawnmowing, washing line putting up... stairgate was repaired by 10.30pm nothing else done
So it is lovely and sunny here and I still have to use the tumble dryer

Piffle · 12/03/2007 10:43

I'm stil at the dangerous simmering stage. I've not yet blown

Was TERRIBLe mother last night too.

DS who is 13 is coming down with slight cough and cold, managed to want to stay up til 10pm to watch castaway, then managed to miraculously come down with dry cough sometime after that
I went to bed at 10.30pm, ds left his door open, could ehar him coughing and was keeping me awake
So got up and closed his door
He said I can't sleep
I said well try lying down instead of sitting up looking out your window and I can't sleep either with you leaving your door open and coughing.

He was angling for the day off, but he is nowhere near poorly enough to kepe home
DD is ramping high temp, hacking cough and up all night... He is taking the mick.

Until Iget a call from his school later telling me he is really ill...
please no, I want to hibernate

sazzybee · 12/03/2007 10:43

Morning all
Well after more than 12 hours of hefty BHs which didn't get any stronger or more painful than just feeling that someone had knocked the wind out of me, I went to bed. And today it's all gone quiet again. So he isn't going to be on time and I'm very frustrated. Hopefully they're contributing to the overall progress of my LO but I have a horrible feeling I'm going to go into the AN clinic this pm and they'll say I'm still 2cm dilated. Who'd have thought you could stay 2cm for so long?
Sorry that everyone else feels as fed up as I do - nice to know I'm not alone in the grumpy stakes although I don't wish this on anyone.
I didn't drive back to London yesterday incidentally - my hip's so painful, I can't actually squeeze myself behind the wheel without wanting to shriek in pain so my mum's taken over. I suspect she secretly likes being a lady about London town.
To pass the time, I thought I'd update our lis. Have I missed anyone?

Sazzy, flanelette pyjamas and Dixia have had their babies too .. not sure what dates (they may have posted on the postnatal stats thread somewhere )

Morning all

Lovely day here. DH has nipped out to Toni and Guy to get his pre-baby haircut and to take DS2 to the library.

I am teaching DS1 and doing boring chores like washing. DS1 is being pedantic .... which I am not really in the mood for !

Rosy, still no baby for me today - how long is your DH sticking around for ? We have asked a builder to look at the house for us as it needs some re-jiggling...if it's too expensive to do we will wait until something else comes up !

Come on babies !

rosylonginglily · 12/03/2007 11:50

Oh it is nice to come on here and know that I'm not alone! Even though of course I wish we were all less stressed and tired.

I'm having to employ emotional blackmail to get any work out of dh. The children are being little angels though and no-one is sick at least.
And it is nice and sunny.

My impatience is running high though. I'm busting to bust! Waiting for it to happen is doing my head in, I want to get it over with!

dh wants to disappear to cork at the weekend and I am grumpy about that, I need a husband not the idea of one! Though actually I really would like a wife to give birth and breast feed the baby, I'd like to resign my position. I want to be the Daddy

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 12/03/2007 11:52

My homehelp has just announced she's preg. Bah humbug . I hate having to re jig things. I hate change.

Mossie · 12/03/2007 11:57

Well today's dog walk was slightly more of a success than yesterday's; no loud bangs, no quad bikes, just a nice quiet stroll. I'm very tired though.

I have given the house the once-over, it is swimming in dog hair, I have never known Merlin malt like this, everywhere he walks there's another patch of hair on the ground. Brushing him makes no difference!!

Sazzy I'm glad to hear you didn't drive back yesterday! Sorry you're so frustrated. I suppose it wouldn't be as bad if they'd not told you all along that you'd be early. Good luck with your appointment thisavvy.

Laidback, wow, Toni and Guy! I have trouble persuading my dh to go to a proper hairdresser and not the dodgy barber down the road! Although I have finally managed to talk him out of getting short hair cuts; he's going to let it stay a bit longer. (It goes more red the longer it is, and a little curly, looks really nice.)

Hormonal ladies, I have to say until the other day I didn't completely understand, but if you remember I had a day or two when I was incredibly stressed and tearful for no reason so now I get it! It's horrible, I know what you mean. It can't help that your dh's / dp's don't get it either. I hope you are feeling better soon.

kiwibella · 12/03/2007 12:30

Kitty... why did I think you had had your bubba????

Mossie · 12/03/2007 12:39

Kiwi hope you and Kate are doing well.

Ladies I realise that with me no longer working I can't share some of the funny CVs I used to get with you.

So instead I thought I'd read you a letter from my local paper, The St Helens Star (where, actually, I used to work, selling advertising to pubs & clubs).

About two weeks ago some chap called "WT" wrote in blaming religion for war etc. etc. This week a Mr Vaughn saw fit to reply.

Dear Star,

I read the letter "world without religion" and I say that even if there was no religion people would still find ways to make war.

(You're thinking, that's a fair point, so where's the comedy? But then the letter continues...)

The fact is we need wars to keep the population down. I would like to ask WT what it would be like if there were no wars? It would be hell. There would be no room, roads would be full, can you imagine what St Helens would be like on a busy day. No, WT. You haven't looked at the bigger picture.

-

So... let me get this straight. A world without war would be "hell"? And that's because... it would be a tad cramped on the A570 of a weekend? Classic!

Mistiek · 12/03/2007 12:40

Afternoon all,

Well MN definataley keeps me busy with all the reading, Its great.

Sazzy - you have missed me off the list I am due on the 22ND by C-sec and we are expecting a little girl. And 1973Magpie had a little girl last friday - dont know the lo's name though.

Morocco - confession time: I have not been to church for a good 4-5 weeks prior to this sunday as I do find it incredibly difficult to enjoy the singing and the chairs are not that cummfy when you are this heavy. My Best friend and her husband got baptised yesterday and had the 2 kids dedicated so could not miss it - I did find it very calming though and really enjoyed the service - I kinda felt very refreshed when I left.

Piffle: MEN - don't get me started on this topic. I just don't think they get it and I think it would be soooooo great if the could be given a few days of this near the end to feel what its like. My Dh and I have been arguing all weekend and its been very upsetting. Then yesterday he started getting all bent out of Shape cause he thinks my Stepfather is trying to undermine him with our DS. Grrrr. They get on like a house on fire and DS loves his Oupa so much but My DH and him dont get on and over the last week DS has been calling everyone daddy for some strange reason but DH has only see it happen with my Stepfather so thinks that my stepfather is trying to be his dad! how stupid is that! This morning my stepfather came to collect his shopping from me and decided to take DS home with him as my mum and he can cope better with him at the mo and when I told DH he got all grumpy!!!! But I dont care as the rest is good no matter what DH thinks!!!

Jay: hope you get some rest during the day and a good sleep tonight - hopfully not much more of a wait for you now.

To everyone hope you are all having a good day and not too grumpy (yeah right). Hormonal bitch is definately the word for me now. I am getting BH now every day and my pelvis is aching so much since yesterday. I am alot more calmer today than I was last night. The Tia Maria in Coke definately did the trick.

Today has gone really well although I am relly soar today and slightly pissed of with DH, my Shopping arrived by 10:00, Stepdad took DS with him by 11:00 and my cot matress arrived by 12:00. So not expecting anything for the rest of the day - so have just run my bath. Going to have a nice peacefull soak with some praise and worship playing in the back ground and then I am going to go have a nap and try and get some rest before DS comes home later.

I have decided that I am now going to ignore eveyone who keeps telling me baby is comming early and just focus on my c-sec date which is now only 10 days away. That should prevent me getting my nickers in a knot anymore and climbing up the wall too much (I hope). later lovlies...

10 days to go... and counting....

Mossie · 12/03/2007 12:55

Mistiek glad you are feeling a bit better after your tia maria and coke!

My local MNer can't come over 'cos she's not too well, so she's going to come round tomorrow. So I'm going to wash the rug in the hall instead and ring the tax credits people find out what I might be entitled to when lo's born. I tried to do this the other day and the phone broke; we now have a new one, a nice cheap £2.99 one which looks ultra sturdy!

Then I think some more gym ball bouncing!

Chocolatepenny · 12/03/2007 12:58

sazzybee - and me on the 22nd on March (boy)

Mossie · 12/03/2007 13:01
