Afternoon All,

Sorry to hear that you are all getting fed up with the waiting game

All is going well here, Amelie is a star and has settled in very well to our little family. She is still going around 4 hours between most feeds so am able to sleep

I will try and put up a photo at some point, but have no idea how to I still haven't managed to put up a profile yet!

Congratulations to all those that have had their little ones since I last posted, and I'm sorry that I haven't had time to reply to everyones posts, every time I sit down at Mumsnet I seem to be needed for another feed

Sending you all lots of labour vibes, I tried raspberry leaf capsules, clary sage and lavender baths and plenty of sex with DH (I think it was the latter in combination with the sweep I had 3 days before I went into labour that set things off! - So get jumping on those other halves )

Piffle · 09/03/2007 14:18

Been t see midwife
Well little guy inside has descended
What this means I'm not wuite sure, certainly BH's have been quite painful low down today and I am feeling them in my groin before the top of my bump, but like kitty I know, all you can do is wait until they are ready.
Anway up here if you go to 41wks they give you a sweep, 10 days + they like to induce you.She did say if I get to 40 wks she'll see if I'm suitable for a sweep then so I cna get my homebirth
Although she said it looks like baby is getting ready now?
Am off to google engagement patterns, I thought 2nd and subsequent babies could engage and disengage at will...
Ho hum

TheBlonde · 09/03/2007 15:08

Piffle - what did the MW write in your notes? She should have put how many /5 engaged

morocco · 09/03/2007 15:11

sorry piffle, mine has been engaged for a bl*y week now and it's baby no 3! I had high hopes all last week and significant glances were exchanged by mws but she's still hanging in there. I swear my bump gets smaller by the day, must be less amniotic fluid as well??

Piffle · 09/03/2007 15:14

2/5 palp which is 3/5 engaged
I'm annoyed that these are things you forget from previous pregnancies.

I should know better than to get hopes up LOL
Anyways I'm off for a lay down dd is asleep with ehr cough adn cold so bags me in too!

morocco · 09/03/2007 15:18

aaargh
computer keeps crashing
i read all your posts, write long and thoguhtful replies then it's all deleted!

Mossie · 09/03/2007 16:25

Afternoon all,

So many messages since yesterday but I can't see any more babies!

I had my mw appt yesterday; lo is 2/5ths engaged apparently... and is no longer back to back (hurray!)

She said "oooh he's going to be a bonny baby isn't he?" I said, "why how much does he weigh do you think?" expecting some kind of reply based on my fungus height etc. "Oh I don't know, he just feels big." "How big?" "Well babies average anywhere between six and nine pounds so I'd say at the top end. But I could be wrong."

Nice to have a conclusive answer then.

Chocolatepenny I'm not going to bother with a TENS machine because I think I will want to sit in my big bath in the early stages and can't do that with wires on my back.

Rosy sorry you couldn't get your reflexology but the massage sounds even nicer!

Piffle how is your dd, and your littlest dog?

Spongecake how are your stretch marks btw are they feeling any better? I have started moisturising more often and although they still itch they are less stingy. Theblonde / Evenhope / Sazzy et al I am now riddled with stretch marks, they are all over the bottom half of my bump, and now are creeping their way up to the top, too! And I have them on my hips. I look like an Ordanance Survey map but in red.

Oh Sazzybee you poor thing all this waiting! Thank you so much for DT by the way, I got half way through with him yesterday and am saving going all the way until Monday when dh is back in work.

Eids that sounds really painful ironing your bump you deserve all those stickers! Have to say your dd's both sound as cute as they looked in those photos!

Kitty I think you should get a massage, or as you put it, "a good seeing to" as well, there must be someone in Brighton I remember that massive market was full of alternative-y type places someone there must do aromatherapy?

Laidback good luck with your bigger offer, I really hope you get the house it sounds lovely!!

Mistiek I'm sorry to hear you are getting contractions but to no avail. I hope it either kicks off so you can go au natural, or slows down to give you some peace & quiet, soon.

Muppet / Magpie good to hear you're both getting on well with your new babies!

Sorry if I've missed anyone!

I am going to be very bad and have a decaff coffee with some Baileys in it. I was watching the cricket but England once again seem to be throwing it away so I have to find something else to do now! Also have to ring the vets today, time for the pets to get Frontlined again, don't want them to come down with fleas just as Bertie's born, yuk!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 09/03/2007 16:35

Well instead of a massage I have been naughty and have treated myself to some v. expensive essential oils:rose and jasmine absolute. Jasmine is supposed to be very good for labour and birth. I don't really care if it is or not, I just love the smells of these oils and fancy putting them in my electric oil heater to help me sleep. I have defered my gym membership for a couple of months so that's a huge payment I don't have to make just yet....
mossy, yum yum, how many cups are you going to have ?

foxcub · 09/03/2007 16:54

Hiya - just popping back to see how everyone is. No news from Diva yet then? I guess they kept her in due to her BP, but hope she's doing OK

Mossy - oooh that drink sounds nice

Kitty - still haven't got round to calling you yet have I? - spent yesterday arvo sorting out my distended boobs and buying a fab breast pump - much better than any previous ones I've used. Just realised the whole day has gone somehow now!! What's the best time to call you?

Laidback - I do hope you get your house - it sounds so nice

Wow it seems so long ago I was PG LOL!! So much seems to have happened in the last three days, since I "graduated" into the tired and sore post baby thread

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 09/03/2007 16:56

Foxy, any time over the weekend is fine, I'm not going anywhere very slowly!!!!
I would have called you but I didn't want to disturb Monti. Do call it would be lovely

Mistiek · 09/03/2007 17:55

OMG - had no idea how expensive oils were!!!!

Managed to get into town today to finally buy a new cot matress and mothercare was sold out .

Then went to Holland & Barret to get some Clary Sage oils and Rasberry Leaf Tea - but only bought the tea in the end as I did not think spending almost £8 was worth spending on something that might not work.

The walk around town seems to have started my niggles again and I already have had one mug of tea - actually I like the taste. And after dinner I will be tucking into me pineapple and some more tea... At lest it all tastes good.

Hope you all have a good evening...

Piffle · 09/03/2007 20:10

Arrrgh went for my lie down this afternoon
Got up at 4pm with dd, with horrible pains in my belly.
No contractions but the sorest aches, right into my bum as well as lower belly. Could barely stand or walk. So stuffed if I know what is going on...

Baby is well down now, as are my boobs, his little bum has been holding them up LOL
Time to hoist up the bra a few notches while it cna still support them
Hope everyone has a good night
I'm indulging in a wee dram of Guinness tonight in the hope of relaxing a little.

1973magpie · 09/03/2007 20:22

Mistiek, if you email me your address I am happy to post you my bottle of clary sage oil as I won't be needing it now and it will just gather dust!!

My email address is mj dot jones at virgin dot net.

Off for another feed now, good luck to all those with niggles

spongecake · 09/03/2007 20:43

hi there all, a quieter day then

Mossy, my stretch marks appeared all of a sudden, like risen veins (sorry) and sting if I sit down etc. I am putting on lots of lavender oil at bedtime -dp coughing and manfully not saying anything. My sister didn;t get any, even with 3 children as she enjoys reminding me. I haven't fessed up I have any, can't bear the smug expression and telling me all over again she didn't, like it makes her better or something

you all sound very energetic!! I am at a stage where it would be nice to drive/walk more than 20 yards/ stand up for longer than 10 mins and wash up. I seem to need naps in the afternoon again as well, like when I was first pregnant.

Eid s, I burnt my bump with an over tray, and sloshed on loads of lavender oil -it really helped. Painful and also looked like I had met zorro or something

hope sazzy and diva are ok...

foxcub · 09/03/2007 21:23

Has sazzy dissappeared as well now?

...its been days since we had a birth announcement!

Kitty - will speak with you over the weekend

Hope everyone else is OK

Where's Booboo - she was due on 3 March too?

Mossie · 09/03/2007 21:39

Well I had two Baileys Coffees and very nice they were too. Kitty / Foxy I can recommend them especially if you want to feel snoozy!

Dh's mate came round (he of the "cavemen didn't need breastfeeding pillows" comment if you remember) so I went upstairs and finished watching Recovery (thanks Sazzy!)

Prior to Mr Caveman coming over, dh said, "now I promise this isn't going to be one of our usual all night drinking sessions". Mr Caveman has just been to get half a dozen bottles of Magners after they've already worked their way through goodness knows how many bottles of Carling. So we'll see.

Spongecake my stretchmarks sound similar to yours, except they are not risen, they are sunken. They also appeared quite suddenly at the bottom of my bump; now they're spreading to the top! I was really shocked when they first appeared but I'm not bothered now, I just hate all these adverts in pregnancy magazines for things that will "make your stretchmarks disappear" or whatever, as it's clearly just a matter of luck and all you can do is make them a bit less stingy / itchy! Sorry your sister is so smug about it.

Mistiek that does sound expensive! Then again I suppose it depends how long it lasts, and if it smells nice and you are likely to use it for a scent after pregnancy.

Right I might have a scan round for some late evening contentious threads to put my oar in. Or I could just have an early night. Can't have a bath in case Mr Caveman wants to use the loo at any point. Although d'ya think he'd mind if I asked him to use my chamber pot?

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 09/03/2007 21:46

Just watched the first episode of the new Soprano's series. Normally I love it but I can't cope with the violence now and there was more than usual in this one. I think being preg makes you less able to cope with things like that.

night all x

sazzybee · 09/03/2007 22:36

Evening all
Haven't gone anywhere
After a cheery morning went for a walk on the heath which was clearly a stupid idea as I have been in agony with my pelvis ever since. And crying and generally feeling sorry for myself
Everything has completely died down - no more BHs, contractions, nothing. It's like the beginning of the week never happened. I'm very disappointed and in a very bad mood.
Hopefully I'll feel a bit better in the morning. Hope everyone else is feeling a bit more cheery x

Booboobedoo · 09/03/2007 23:51

Hi there,

this is Booboo's husband. She asked me to post an update - she's had to spend tonight in hospital for monitoring of her blood pressure and for protein in 24 hrs worth of urine.

She's been throwing up and had bad headaches through last night although she feels better now - blood tests clear for pre-eclampysia - but the hospital is little nervous about her high blood pressure. Baby is still happily wiggling away.

Sure she'll be back on tomorrow evening, but for now its just me and the dog

Booboo's D.H.

rosylonginglily · 10/03/2007 02:21

Best wishes to Booboo.

Piffle I'm getting really confusing BH aswell. Your description sounds just like I'm having and even though this is my fourth and I thought I would know by now, I am not sure if I'm in early labour or not!

Dh has just arrived. He had a tyre blowout on his way up, there's always something!

TheBlonde · 10/03/2007 04:51

Hope Booboobedoo feels better soon

I can't get back to sleep so thought 20 mins of the internet might help me nod off

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 10/03/2007 08:03

Hope they let booboo out soon, thanks for letting us know

Sazzy, try not to expect anything. It's the easiest way of getting through this time, believe me I know.

Mistiek · 10/03/2007 08:05

Morning everyone...

Ah soooo sorry Sazzy . I know how you feel as I had so much happen from the beggining of the week and loads of contractions etc in the last few days. Also went for a long walk yesterday, had 2 cups of RLT and half a pineapple and this morning I feel like nothing has happened all week.... Only difference is I am not due yet and you are now over... I really hope it happens for you - maybe this is the calm before the storm? Lets try stay positive and im sending you loads of your way. Hope you have a good day.

Booboo's DH thansk for the message please give her our regards and let her know we are all thinking of her - hope she feels better soon.

1973Magpie thanks for the offer - I have sent you my an e-mail with my address.

Rosy glad to hear DH has made it home before baby arrives - will he be home now until lo arrives?

Well no news on this side, all is very quite here . Patience I keep telling myself - is not working though. As for stretch marks I have new ones too and keep getting more as the weeks go by. The creams never work!

Hope everyone has a good day, My mom and sister are on there way to come help me clean my flat. So cool of them - as with my iron levels the way they are and now the Anti-biotics making me feel so drowsy I have not got any energy to do anything so the help will be so good...

Chat later....

Chocolatepenny · 10/03/2007 08:17

Morning All, Goodluck to Booboo,
haven't had time to read all the posts so I hope the babies are all behaving themselves, although it sounds like they are not.
DH was away last night and I discovered a bed to yourself is the route to a good nights sleep.

DollyPopsOut · 10/03/2007 08:28

Monring everyone

Sorry that so many have had no action over the last day or so. It is so easy to get really fed up, isn't it? I am not due until the end of march, with CS on 19th (monday week!) so am not really expecting much yet. I remember from last time though how awful it is to wait for your due date and then watch it recede as you get more and more grumpy. I didn't do Rasp leaf tea, but ate about 500 pineapples (cost a fortune!) with no luck. Anyway, I hope that everyone who is ready for the off gets going soon.

Booboo, sorry to hear that things have been bad over the last few days. Hope your BP goes back down and you can have your homebirth.

Anyone heard from Diva?

Hello to veryone else - sorry I can't retain info at the moment so can't reply properly.

Took double buggy out for a long walk yesterday. It weighs a ton! One man commented rather loudly that I only have 1 child (and a toy rabbit) in it, so I undid my coat and flashed him. He looked scared! Serve him jolly well right. Last night, I went out with my mates from walk for a last hoorah and had a lovely time. Got some smellies, chocs and a John Lewis voucher as well so feeling very pampered. And this morning, deep joy, is the Twins Club nearly new sale which is FANTASTIC! Can't believe I am excited about something so trivial, but last Oct I got 2 bin bags full of lovely things for £30 - DD has never looked smarter! I'll be back on later to see if we have any more babies....

Hope you all have a good day. Are you driving this am Mossy or have you moved it to another day? Take care XXXXXX
