Do all you nesters want to come and do mine? I don't have any urge to do it yet!

Congrats foxy - is Monti our biggest March baby so far then?

Moss - dh measured me last week and told me not to try to go through turnstiles etc sideways as with the bump I was wider that way round than face on

hi all
congrats foxy - looking forward to hearing all details of little monti!!
hopefully getting hb pack today - at last, after much running round getting the all clear from consultants and senior mws
absolutely no signs of anything at all, just knackered constantly
got lots of nappies thro post today - yay - all ready to go
ticking off the days . . . .

Hi everyone - Monti is asleep downstairs so I've rushed to get back on MN!!

He's a lovely baby and was really good last night. Fed every 2 hours and snuggled next to me in bed ("awwwww")

He's long and chubby and I always forget all the newborn body language which they have, which is so cute (cute baby yawns, nibbling on their fists and that look of utmost surprise at their own bowel movements)

My sister stayed over and a school mum whizzed DS and DD to school and back while we were away.

Birth was bloody horrendous - high spot: the sweep didn't hurt and did trigger things off, DH was absoluteley wonderful as he knew excatly what to do and when (big hugs to my hen pecked DH ) and of course meeting Monti, who is seriously gorgeous

Low spots: the Birth Centre staff trying to kick me out at 6am Tuesday because my labour had slowed a bit, being forced to walk down the corridor with my waters gushing out (they decided to move all the patients round), a madly fast last stage and me screaming with no pain relief as the aneasthetist went AWOL - with the delivery room door wide open and builders chatting directly outside the door, Monti getting stuck and the emergency alarm being sounded with staff rushing into the room and not knowing if he was going to be OK, being torn to shreds and then the placenta refusing to come out.

Out of the three labours it was by far the worst and out of the three hospitals it was understaffed chaotic, but what a relief its over.

Monti is great and DS in particular is completely besotted. We've given DS and DD they day off school to bond with him - must go - he wants me!!

rosylonginglily · 07/03/2007 12:13

Aaww Fox, he sounds scrumptious! Sorry to hear about the difficult labour but delighted that your Dh was a star.

Booboobedoo · 07/03/2007 12:25

Whoooh Foxy! Congratulations Birth-buddy! Told you you'd beat me. Sorry you've got tearing (how bad is it?) and it was all stressful, but I'm sure cudlding Monti is making it all seem worth it. You sound loved up.

Had an antenatal appt with the community midwife this morning. My BP is down to 127/72 so no worries there. However, she refused to give me a sweep because hospital 'protocol' is no sweeps before 41 weeks. Wtf? Two of my friends had theirs at Kings recently, and one of them got a sweep at 39 weeks!

Anyway, I'm booked in for a scan just to check stuff on Friday, and she's said she's sure they'll give me a sweep. If not, a midwife will come over on Saturdau and give me one. Come on Jonny...

Mossy: I did indeed get my back and foot rub. Bliss.

Hope everyone's enjoying the beautiful spring sunshine.

40+4
Jonny

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 07/03/2007 12:39

HI foxy, it all sounds a bit stressy Did you get near the disco ball in the end then? So sorry I didn't pick up you message until today, I should check my phone more often . How lovely for you to have little Monti all cuddled up with you. Does he look like your others when they were small?
It's hard to believe that we've all come on this long journey together and are now starting a new one.

Jaysecond · 07/03/2007 12:46

ahhh 'Foxcub' cute id, well done to you and your Hubby, he soundslike he really helped you along! Sorry to hear it was your worst birth, but as others have said, having Monti now where you can see him and cuddle him must make up for a little bit of the pain. Hope you 'heal' quickly, lots of lavender baths for you!

Sorry if no-one liked the joke...... guess i thought it might just lighten the waiting game, but on reflection i guess a joke about pain in the 'nether' regions isnt what we want right now opps...

Well mums been over and taken DD out for a walk, fresh air will do her good i hope. I am going to have a burger king lunch today then am off to MW.

love to all XX

Piffle · 07/03/2007 12:51

Monti sounds gorgeous Foxy
So sorry that the birth went so pear shaped but seriously glad you're home and monti is doing so well.
Hooray for your helpers too.

My BH's are happening every 17 minutes on the dot
Charming I@m off to lie down to see them off

Leoladyofleisure · 07/03/2007 12:52

Huge congratulations Foxy !!!!

muppetisacat · 07/03/2007 12:58

Haven't quite managed to read all threads because... Oh my God... I've had a BABY!

Samuel Frederick born 6.05pm monday after 4 hours of induction. Weighs 8lbs 5oz - feeding like mad and entertaining us all.

Induction itself was really ok as I cleverly grabbed a passing anaesthetist b4 it all started so she sited the epidural should i need it but didn't administer it until i wanted it... needless to say after about an hour i wanted it!!! (terribly pleased with myself for holding out a whole hour )

Sadly it only worked on one side - so it was a schizophrenic labour - my right side was enjoyable but the left side was open to all elements!

After 3 hours of contractions i had gone from not even a slightly thinned cervix to fully dilated and head descending. By now the epidural had worn off so i was starting to feel when to push - which was a benefit. Suprised that it took a whole hour of pushing to get him out, especially as he's the third... but can't really complain!

Out he came... lovely, lovely, lovely. Still shocking to see a baby appear from betwixt your legs though!

Now we are home and i'm completely in love! It's a bun fight between me, dh, ds1 and dd as to who has next cuddle!

Will post photos soon but now must catch up with your news ladies

Where is foxy?
Where is monti?
Where is diva?
Did laidback ever make it to Cornwall?
Has Rosy managed to avoid catching nasty sick bug from dh?
All these questions... off to discover the answers!

rosylonginglily · 07/03/2007 13:02

Don't worry Jay! If anyone tries to find a squirrel in my crotch they'll get more than they bargained for
Moss where did you find that bonkers oily dog???
Now how are we going to get technophobe Fox to do a profile and show us piccies of Monti?

Chocolatepenny · 07/03/2007 13:03

Congrats Fox Just when it all goes quite here another one pops in! He's a great size too sounds cute (feeling maternal)
Glad to here I will not be alone here cos of my late march EED.
Jay- I liked that joke, DH has just really pissed me off so I needed a laugh.

Mossie · 07/03/2007 13:06

Ah Foxy little Monti sounds adorable. Sorry to hear your birth didn't go well though. I hope your tearing heals up quickly. So can we have a look at some pics?

Jay... well I laughed anyway !

Booboo I hope it isn't too long for you now.

Mil just came round and drove me into town to go to the cash machine for the money for my driving lesson tomorrow. Still have a few things to do today so will probably catch up with you all in the evening.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 07/03/2007 13:06

Muppet, well done that girl , babies popping out everywhere!!!!

rosylonginglily · 07/03/2007 13:07

Yay!!Muppet, brilliant news welldone, and you sound in great form! The names are great, Love the bunfight vision of everyone trying to get a cuddle!
Oh Gosh you guys are making me so broody.

Piffle · 07/03/2007 13:09

Cor you turn your back for one minute and there is another baby here!
Well done Muppet, they are good weights these babies! Hope you are enjoying all your precious newborn minutes.

Jaysecond it made me giggle, for some time I have wondered if it is just a baby scrabbling around down there. For all I know there might be a hibernating squirrel

Mossie · 07/03/2007 13:10

Ooh X posts Muppet Congratulations!!! That is brilliant news! Love the names, too.

Babies babies everywhere! I want one now!

Right before I do anything I'm going to sit down with my chocolate bar whilst watching a story about obese pregnant women on the news

muppethasakitten · 07/03/2007 13:10

Caught up with thread... Congrats to Foxy... so you had a hairy scary time but so that it all worked out fine.

Enjoy your day at home with your family and take it easy.

I am still at the "walk like an old man" stage... didn't need any stitches but had a little tear along an old episiotomy scar - too cowardly to let mw stitch it and it's healing fine anyhow now.

Off to feed Samuel b4 lunch... bfeeding makes you even hungrier doesn't it? Do you think lindt chocolate should be taken with every meal?

morocco · 07/03/2007 13:29

wow wow wow
turn your back for five minutes and babies are popping up everywhere
congrats again, foxy, monti sounds adorable. sorry the birth was a bit rough though, and staff disorganised, you'd think they could at the very least close the door
and congrats muppet! lol at you all fighting over who's next for cuddles, Samuel sounds lovely. clever you getting the anaethetist before the pain started - good forward planning

eidsvold · 07/03/2007 13:29

congratulations muppet

popped on here at 11.30pm - should be sound asleep in bed but can't seem to sleep even though I am exhausted. Just can't seem to get comfy tonight.

wow foxy - he was a good weight - sorry it all went a bit pear shaped.

keep wondering whether my dream of a 10lb 4 oz babe will come true - if it does - thank goodness for a c-section as my babes ( so far) all have huge off the chart head circumferences!!

lovely to hear about everyone's wee ones.

rosylonginglily · 07/03/2007 13:33

I wonder how Diva is getting on?

evenhope · 07/03/2007 13:35

Congratulations foxy and muppet

Went in for my ECV this morning. Don't believe anyone who tells you it's "uncomfortable": it bluddy hurt!!!

After all that, madam was having none of it and is still stubbonly head upright. Have to go in for caesarian on Tuesday. Bit concerned as that is the 13th but only slot available except tomorrow..

rosylonginglily · 07/03/2007 13:40

Ahh sure the 13th is lucky if you want it to be! At least you know Evenhope but what a shame the ecv caused all that pain but didn't work If baby turns before then can you cancel it?

muppethasakitten · 07/03/2007 13:59

Have uploaded photos!

eidsvold · 07/03/2007 14:01

right it is midnight - off to bed to try and sleep...
