hi all- been too tired to post so just been lurking sazzy that sounds so exciting.. hope all goes well.

the man next door has been doing diy since 8.30 this morning -just hammering-so have appalling headache. am feeling so trapped at home.

have just posted re stretchmarks on pregnancy thread if anyone interested. mine hurt

Piffle · 06/03/2007 11:34

sazzy, all good signs
I've been on iron supps since conception - I take spatone which is mineral water high in easily absorbable iron with none of the ghastly constipation side effects you get with ferrous sulphate tabs.
I knew my home birth depended on good iron results so was taking NO chances!

Kiwi gorgeous names I'm a kiwi ex pat and adore some of the Maori girls names, went to school with twins called Aroha and Moana.

Well got struck with dreaded sciatica last night, found out that the nerve runs straight through your mimsy, not pleasant at all, wonder if it's to do with baby engaging and then coming out as it's very on and off.
Well midwife on friday managed to squeeze me in her lunch break - she says she's ok as I'm her testbook mum to be apparently..
Ha ha
Right off to suck some raspberry leaf tea

CallieNewMum · 06/03/2007 11:41

Kiwi, lovely names. You may not have seen we've set up a post-natal thread so here's the link again for it. Post-natal thread

Jay, hope your daughter's feeling better, and Kitty, hope you are feeling better!

Muppet's definitely having her baby, isn't she??? And looks like the Fox might be too - how exciting!!! Wonder how Diva's getting on in hospital.

Lunar, try and get some rest and bugger the work - it's not your fault the other person has gone awol.

Moss, don't you dare go up that ladder - my grandmother did that, couldn't wait for my grandad to put up a curtain pole, went up ladder, fell off and went into labour prematurely. Be warned!

Piffle · 06/03/2007 11:43

yeah Foxy conspicuous by her absence indeed

Mossie · 06/03/2007 11:45

Lunar hope everything is all right with your maternity cover?

Sazzy if you're sleeping at least you're conserving your energy for the big event!

Spongecake I'll have a look at your thread in a mo, my stretchmarks hurt too, if they're not itching, then they're really stinging. I moisturise them with unperfumed stuff, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Piffle sorry about your sciatica. Enjoy your leaf tea!

Callie... about the ladder incident! Okay, I will wait for dh to get home then!

Mil just popped over to see how I was, she has said she will drive me into town next time if she isn't busy as it is a long walk.

CallieNewMum · 06/03/2007 11:51

Mossy, your MIL sounds an absolute star. I really must go and have a shower before Jordi wakes up again. DP off for the day again today - the peace is quite nice...

sazzybee · 06/03/2007 12:19

Sorry mossy - somehow missed your post. Please don't climb up ladders! Tres dangereux! I'm glad your MIL is going to give you a lift - I don't think I could walk all that distance without falling into a sobbing heap.
Well bugger all still happening. I have just lied to my mum as she's coming up this afternoon anyway and if I'd told her I'd had a show she would have been on the next train!
I have checked and fox hasn't posted for about 24 hours so I guess she and muppet are off having their babies! And diva is being induced tomorrow morning isn't she?
Piffle - I cannot believe the excrutiating pain in the pelvis being pg can cause you! I don't know about sciatica but I'm convinced I dislocated a hip night before last - I couldn't walk at all!
Thanks for reminding me about the raspberry leaf - I'll have some now. Yum!

Piffle · 06/03/2007 12:21

Yep Sazzy there are some moments when you just think your legs will stop working.
And people say sex gets things going.
Never mind the bloody logisitics.... I think I'd need anaesthetising first...

rosylonginglily · 06/03/2007 13:11

My sister keeps saying "better in than out" because once they are out they require loads of work.
When she went on maternity leave last time she hardly had time to rest before she went into labour a week early and she was disgusted! weirdo, I don't care how much trouble they are, I can't wait to have the baby!

Though of course not today or tomorrow, maybe Friday when hopefully dh will be here.

I managed to waddle to the local shops using the buggy like a zimmer frame! Then I had to frequent the fish and chip van where the woman serving seems to know me now! How did that happen

Sazzy glad your mum will be around later. You could go into labour in the night and it'll be good to have some company.

Mossy glad you decided against the ladder climbing!

Looking forward to hearing more baby news now!

LaidbackinEngland · 06/03/2007 13:13

Mossy - have you thought about having your shopping delivered ... much easier than traipsing round the shopsa and I think Asda do it ?

Booboobedoo · 06/03/2007 14:26

I second Laidback's internet shopping tip Mossy. If you spend over a certain ammount most places deliver for free, so I order tons of stuff once a fortnight. There's no way I could walk as far as you did yesterday. Baby's head won't let me!

Laidback: your baby definitely won't come tomorrow, as he wants to live in that lovely house and he can't unless you go and see it. See?

Well, I'm so bloody fed up I could scream. My baby was due last Saturday, and there is no sign of him wanting to come out. I had a cervical rummage in the bath last night, an it feels soft and slightly open, but still quite high. I wouldn't mind, but I can barely walk, and can only stand for about 15 minutes until I feel awful.

Sorry to hear about the sciatica Piffle. I s'pose I should thank heaven for small mercies.

Bethoo: your baby is gorgeous.

Rosy: I want fish 'n' chips now, and it's all your fault!

Foxy must be in labour.

40+3
Boy

sazzybee · 06/03/2007 14:36

Booboo can you get a sweep? Not that mine's worked yet or anything but it's made me feel a bit more optimistic that something's going to happen soon. Or have you already had one? Can't remember

rosylonginglily · 06/03/2007 14:39

loads of sympathy Booboo, I've been late last three times and I probably will be this time too. My latest ploy is this....you know the way when women live together they end up all taking their periods at the same time...well my nearby sister is suffering pmt at the moment so now I think if I hang all over her a bit then her coming on hormones might affect me...

Mistiek · 06/03/2007 14:44

Afternoon all,
Just got back from MW appointment and she thinks there is nothing to worry about. She has told me to keep an eye on my pads and if I soak any then to call the hospital. She said that sometimes the discharge can change?? As for all the discumfort and niggles and the pains I keep getting she does not seem phased!

Nothing much has leaked today (not even the usual discharge - very strange) but the pains are comming back and now seem to be when baby is awake so it must be somthing she is doing when moving - but it takes my breath away its so painfull! Anyone else having this?

Mossy - glad you are not climbing up any ladders and getting shopping delivered is great - Had Tescos deliver for the first time yesterday...

Sazzy - still holding thumbs for you - hope it all kicks off soon. Glad your mom will be round...

Piffle - I had Siatica last Pg and in the beggining of this one, I feel for you, last time when I was 8 months preggies there was a day it hit me real hard and all I could manage for about 3 hours was a crawl (to the loo and back)

Rosy - your sister sounds mad!

Jay - so sorry your DD is still battling - it does seem to be a realy nasty bug - hope it gets sorted and is nothing to serious. Is there anyone who can help you with some of your washing?

And talking about washing I have an urgent load to do too so best be off. Then going to lie on the couch as cramps are comming back and baby is awake so keep getting the painfull twinges down below... Sigh. Roll on the 22nd!

bethoo · 06/03/2007 14:45

booboo = have you not tried the old raspberry leaf? i am sure it will not be long now. ust be patient. sods law it will happen at an inconvenient time like on the way to shops or at a friends house!
fingers crossed for you it happens soon. i ust want to see more baby pics!!

Booboobedoo · 06/03/2007 14:48

Bethoo: I'm mainlining raspberry leaf capsules, but I think they just help to tone the uterus. Some sites even reccommend using them from week 12!

Thanks for the sympathy everyone. I know he'll come when he's ready, and this still isn't as bad as the morning sickness.

La la la.

TheBlonde · 06/03/2007 15:16

Booboobedoo - Sorry you are feeling fed up, the waiting is sooo tedious

Mistiek - I am also getting strong pain which seems to be more related to the baby moving than Braxton-Hicks, it is stopping me in my tracks

I would also recommend internet grocery shopping (as someone too scared to drive the new car). Top tip is to arrange delivery when you are out so OH has to unpack!!

Now I know everyone is waiting for babies but I am offering a 2 yr old boy, free to good home. I have had enough of him today

39 wks today (surprise)

rosylonginglily · 06/03/2007 15:25

The blonde, my two year old boy keeps trashing the plant pots, he chewed a green felt tip earlier and he keeps taking his clothes and nappy off... on the other hand when I was out hanging washing today he answered the phone and brought it out to me and told me who it was, so now he is my new receptionist
So I'll keep him but you'll have to find another sucker to have your two year old cuz I definately don't need two crazy two year old boys That'll be leo in a couple of years though

LaidbackinEngland · 06/03/2007 15:37

Well ... if any one wants my two year old boy ... they will find him in the kitchen naked and covered in pumpkin scone mixture....

About to leave for Cornwall.... hope to come back tomorrow to a list of new babies.

Have printed off list of birthing centres in Devon and Cornwall just in case

DH is getting all herbal and talking about me giving birth in the woods.....

rosylonginglily · 06/03/2007 15:41

rosylonginglily · 06/03/2007 17:12

That's great you are home Diva. I hope you can have a relaxing evening and be all ready for a baby tomorrow! How exciting!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 06/03/2007 17:26

Well done for escaping Diva . It was a strange name that came up 'oojib'. Took me a while to work out who it was from!! Really, really good luck for tomorrow, you must be so relieved it'll soon be over. I'm bloody fed up today, feel so tired and heavy. I just want not to be pregnant anymore . I guess this is is, full on grumps for the next few weeks. Hope we get some more baby news soon.
