Awww bethoo - he's gorgeous! I've welled up now

Jaysecond · 05/03/2007 21:51

very sweet pics bethoo, makes me want mine NOW!!

Saw consultant and had scan, baby said to be back on track for being 10lbs....... consultant said to me, ' i dont hink we will do any more scans with you, your baby seems to like playing tricks' anyway, MW set to do sweep on wednesday and i am due on Friday, so will have to see. Babies head so far down she couldnt really see it on screen so a sweep could be all thats needed - we will see.

Poor DD so ill at the mo, she went to bed at 645, only to be sick everywhere at 715, then was totally unsettled so had her downstairs with me, she feel asleep in my arms about 830 and fingers crossed will stay asleep for the night, sigh its so saddening when you cant do anything for them, maked me feel totally useless

hope everyones ok on here, shall read the thread through properly now!

Piffle · 05/03/2007 22:34

Hope dd is ok tonight Jay, poor little thing, it is grim when they are so poorly.

Bethoo gorgeous pics what a little cutie pie he is!

Quiet night here from me, quite relieved as the BH's were getting quite pesky.
No doubt now that I've said I'm getting a respite, they'll crop back up.

Hope everyone has a nice night
xxxxxxxxxx

kiwibella · 05/03/2007 23:24

Hi everyone!! I've been reading through the threads trying to update myself with how everyone is going as well as any new additions to the March Hares . Congrats Bethoo!! I also hope that things are ok for Diva and no doubt she will be looking forward to Wednesday.

As for us, life is fun but I have never felt so tired or so hungry. Both emotions seem to be constant. After much dillying and dallying and sorting things out with the mil, our wee girl was named Katharine (Kate) Hirini Rangimarie. Katharine is my mum's middle name, Hirini is my mil's father's surname Sidney in Maori, and Rangimarie is Maori for 'piece from the heavens'.

Kate is a good sleeper, going for five to six hours at a stretch. We are getting there with feeding - there were a few days of agony with my milk coming in and breasts being so engorged that she couldn't latch on. Now that is over, when Kate is awake she is always looking for her next feed. I am sure that we will sort it out.

Anyways... I think about you all everyday and wonder how each of you is getting on - even if I don't get to the puter to check. It is such an exciting time with all our bubba's arriving!!

Take care

eidsvold · 06/03/2007 01:14

well could not long in earlier - mumsnet was down. Done the kindy run, had coffee with some of the kindy mums - new group this year.

Just checking out mumsnet before I feed dd2 and get organised for consultant appt.

cooler today - 29 degrees rather than 31

lovely name kiwi - Kate is one of our choices.

As to the list of boys ( jay ?)

Jensen would be my pick or Troy.

Hope all is well with everyone else - read the messages and everything just flies out of my head.

sazzybee · 06/03/2007 05:41

Morning all
Well I had a show about an hour ago and now getting contractions but quite mild. I'm pretty tired (had a bad dream and then read my book and now too excited to go back to sleep ) so I might go back to bed for a bit. I'm going to wait before calling the hospital I think - might be ages before things kick off properly and my mum's coming up to London this afternoon anyway. Also it's lashing down with rain outside and I really don't fancy leaving the house in this!
Hope the idea of some cool rain is cooling you down eidsvold.
kiwibella - nice to hear from you. What a very pretty name and how lovely to have it mean something too. My LO's middle name will be Rhys - which is my mum's maiden name. It's all girls in my generation so he'll be the only one carrying on the name. And five to six hours sleep at a time? How fab!

TheBlonde · 06/03/2007 06:38

Kiwi - lovely name, glad to hear all is going well

Sazzy - hope you have managed to get some rest, sounds like things are starting for you

sazzybee · 06/03/2007 06:52

I do hope so The Blonde. Just called the MW and she told me I could be here another week. The good thing is that because his head's down now, I don't have to panic about my waters breaking and having a prolapsed cord.

Right - I'm going to try and get some sleep in case anything more exciting happens. Poor garden appears to have drowned in all this torrential rain so I'm hoping it will have all drained away by the time I wake up again

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 06/03/2007 07:10

That's exciting Sazzy, try and get some rest though

Lovely names Kiwi, you seem to be setttling down to things really well

I had a restless night, kept waking up. All the kids have got fever and runny noses etc . I have a headache (I NEVER get headaches) and sore throat so I guess I've got the lurgy too. Ah well, let's hope it's shortlived.

The woman making the homebirth prog is coming round with the diary camera today, so I best try and think of some interesting things to say

Mistiek · 06/03/2007 08:06

Good Morning all.... Yawn

Feel so tired today, woke up a few times for the loo but other than that slept ok, so have no idea why I am so tired!

Sazzy: It definately sounds like things will kick off now - hopefully sooner than later for you - how exciting.

Bethoo: Lovely pics - aw so cute - can't wait for mine now ... and Hayden is such a lovely name

Jay: hope you are feeling better and your DD slept ok last night? Shame its not nice, DS had it 6 weeks ago and he was so ill, he then Went to South Africa with my mum for 4 weeks and had tonsilitis and a chest infection while there and was still not right when he got back so is still on anti-biotics.... the poor things.

Kitty: Hope you dont get hit with the lurgy badly - thats the last thing we need at this stage - to be sick... Hope the kids are ok too and their fevers have gone.

All ok on this side, besides being very tired. Had some more discharge this morning that is a different colour so still not sure if its my waters. had a few cramps this morning but nothing serious and woke up with a sore eye and feeling very stiff???? I have MW appointment later today so will let her know what has happened. I hope it stops raining as I have to walk there today and dont fancy getting wet!

Anyway Hope all is ok with everyone else...

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 06/03/2007 08:12

Mistiek, last time my waters went before contractions started (never happened before) and to check that it wasn't just wee I smelt them and they smelt of newborn babies to me. A completely different smell to wee!!!

rosylonginglily · 06/03/2007 08:12

Bethoo the pictures are great, what a cute baby! Makes me broody too!

Kiwi I love all the names! Ooh I hope my baby sleeps as well as Kate (that's my mothers name!)

Sazzy how exciting keep resting and snacking and of course posting

Mistiek maybe a little chat with a mw or check up would be good? Having a clear out often happens when labour is starting and if that is your waters you could be on your way too????

Laidback good tip about the dates, must get some in, that first poo after labour is always a worry!

Jay Your poor little one, mine are not very well but calpol soon perks them up!

Kittie hope you are better soon and enjoy your filming today! You star, there's no way I could face a camera at the moment!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 06/03/2007 08:17

Rosy, I'm having real problems accepting that i'm going to have a baby at all. It feels as if i'm going to stagger round like this for ever. having done it umpteen times before doesn't seems to make it any more real. I was on the phone to an old friend last night and heer dog had just had 10 puppies!!!! There were only a few days old, still blind, and I could hear them mewling in the background. Now I'm not over fond of dogs but they sounded so cute .
I watched a bit of a programme yesterday about the fmily in the states who have 16 kids and the mother is about to have another! God she must really enjoy it

rosylonginglily · 06/03/2007 08:22

Yeah Kitty I can hardly imagine this pregnancy being over and having a baby!! But tmi to follow, last night after reading the cervix feeling thread, I had a rummage and could clearly feel the head! Couldn't feel the os(?) though that's way back there ..anyway made me more aware that it's a baby and not just really bad wind

eidsvold · 06/03/2007 08:34

well back from consultant appt - apparently my iron levels are low and I should have been taking iron but it did not seem to be a big concern - will start taking my pregnancy multivs and see if it makes a difference. Had some more blood taken today and can check tomorrow what the results are.

Perhaps that is why I have been feeling so knackered lately and not the fact I spend my life running around after 2 little ones including one with special needs.

rosylonginglily · 06/03/2007 08:35

I knew the baby was well engaged now because I am really waddling and heartburn has subsided.

rosylonginglily · 06/03/2007 08:38

Eidsvold get those iron tablets down you! You always seem to be doing loads though and sound very energetic! Once your iron levels are back up there'll be no stopping you!

Chocolatepenny · 06/03/2007 09:14

Bethoo he's lovely More babies please!

LaidbackinEngland · 06/03/2007 09:21

Bethoo - love the photos of Hayden. Kiwi - you have chosen some beautiful names too.

Foxy and Muppet must be off having babies somewhere.....

I am off to have tea with my best friend and then down to Cornwall... please send me strong " don't have your baby yet" vibes until Weds afternoon

My friend who is due the same day as me (Sunday) had her baby yesterday ... a little girl - born in 1 1/2 hours from start to finish !! Fantastic !

Good luck Sazzy - sounds like your wee man is on his way soon too .

Chocolatepenny · 06/03/2007 10:10

1 and a half hours!! wow. My friends neighbour had her baby in 3 hours in the bathroom at home, she had her cleaner around and she didn't even know what was happening until the last minute when her husband came charging in.
Its stories like these that keep me going, (praying)

Jaysecond · 06/03/2007 10:30

morning all, DD had an awful night, was sick three more times, completely covered in it all she was, lord knows where its coming from as she hasnt eaten in nearly a week, needless to say i am knackered beyond knackered with a heap of extra washing to do that i just cant face! Not really sure what to do about her really, if this keeps up i guess i will have to go back to docs tomorrow. Its such a worry...

Misteik, DD Has had this now for 9 weeks, its her second lot of antibiotics and it just doesnt seem to be shifting, sometimes i wonder if theres something the docs have missed???

Nice to hear from you Kiwi, congratulations on choosing a name, its so hard, we are finding it so much more difficult second time round. Great to hear shes sleeping so well, long may it continue!

Lots of ' dont have your baby till Wed' vibes winging their way to you Laidback, have good trip!

I am going to try and get a cat nap in while DD is asleep, then i guess i have to tackle the sickie washing

Mossie · 06/03/2007 10:39

Morning all,

Well after yesterday's bloody long walk, I managed to sleep last night, but it was quite a broken sleep with lots of toilet visits and feeling uncomfy, so I may try for a nap at some point today. Just come back from the dog walk and the sun is shining; it's a gorgeous day!

I'm also going to try and find out if there's a butcher / grocer any closer to the house than town today, save me doing the Asda trek too often!

Sazzy get you with your consultant's famous fingers! And now you've had a show! Sounds like you could be well on your way!

Lunar congrats on getting yourself organised! I still haven't packed my bag yet, but have all the stuff for it. Dh promised he'd get the suitcase down from the top of the giant wardrobe to save me clambering up ladders, but has forgotten so I'll just have to get it myself. I'm not too bothered - I'm sure I can climb up a ladder! - but he did offer...

Bethoo your photos are lovely, so cute! And you look very well, too; I plan to have post-birth photos taking in black and white as I've heard it makes you look a bit less pale! (I'm aware how vain that makes me sound!)

Mistiek, have you asked your mw? 36+5 is almost full term you know!

Jay hope your dd is better soon.

Kiwi I love your baby's names! That sounds like a good long sleep for a new born baby too, or so I hear, that's brilliant news!

Eids 29 degrees is cool? Oh you poor thing! Still I suppose it's an improvement.

Kitty when is the new series of the home birth diaries going to be on? You superstar!

Rosy I might follow your example and have read the feeling your own cervix thread, "have a rummage" (sounds like something you do prior to a jumble sale doesn't it?)

Laidback I hope your Cornwall visit goes well - don't forget take lots of breaks to stretch your legs!!

Sorry to anyone I've missed, hope you all have a lovely day!

Mossie · 06/03/2007 10:40

X posts Jay is there anyone (friend / neighbour) who can come over and give you a hand with the housework to give you, and your dd chance to get some rest?

LunarSea · 06/03/2007 10:45

Moss - I didn't say I'd packed my bag.... just that I'm a bit closer to being organised. Am not supposed to be working today, but the person who's taking over seems to be AWOL. Oh well.

OP posts:
sazzybee · 06/03/2007 10:57

Oh jay that sounds horrid
Your poor dd. It's so awful being sick when you're little.

Eidsvold - I had low iron levels a few weeks ago but I took iron supplements every other day for a few weeks and it seems to have fixed things. I'm not surprised you're knackered either way though - most of us are posting stuff about pottering about and you seem like a human whirlwind! And in 30 degrees too. I don't know how you do it.

Well all is calm and quiet here after the excitement of the night which is a bit of a letdown but at least I got a bit of sleep in.
