Ooh gosh - loads of messages! I'm just back from the antenatal clinic where I saw head honcho Mr Teoh (who delivered Trinny and Susannah's babies so someone on my induction thread said) and he's looked at me and recommended that I don't have an induction! So I've cancelled it. Aaargh! Have I done the right thing? My mum is a bit freaked out - she was happier when she knew when things were going to happen and now she's back to waiting for the phone call.
I'm 2 centimetres dilated and the boy's head is down far enough so that there's no danger of a cord prolapse.
He gave me a sweep so my fanjo has been manhandled by the same fingers as Trinny and Tranny
Laidback - hope the house is gorgeous.
Foxy - please pass my best wishes onto Diva - she must be going a bit stircrazy stuck in hospital waiting. Poor love
Jay - sorry you're all sickly, hope you feel better soon and the antibiotics kick in.
Rosy - sorry about your thumb. Does the cheery plaster make you feel better about it?
Mossy - I'm going to email you. A trip to the postbox could be just the thing to get contractions going!
Dolly - glad that your fluid levels have calmed down. I'm quite envious that you have a date although if I haven't dropped by the 19th I'll complain
Piffle and Foxy - it's a shame you can't predict what it's going to be isn't it? Did you try by having sex at different times of the month? Isn't it that male sperm swims faster but female sperm lasts longer?! Still - I can't believe either of you are even contemplating getting pregnant again right now!

bethoo · 05/03/2007 16:04

Callie- i do nod put lo under duvet and if i do the most it covers is his feet.we both sleep better as before he was getting up every hour to feed but would only suckle for a min or two b4 falling asleep on my boob so i think he was comfort feeding. none of that now, only wakes up twice for a good feed

LaidbackinEngland · 05/03/2007 16:06

You wait Sazzy - once this baby is born ... you may fancy another yourself ! If it's not too much of an intrusion to know - do they allow you to have another baby with the same donor so your kids would be full biological siblings ?

Maybe your consultant , he of the long and famously acquainted fingers, thinks you are going to pop before your indication date ?!

Mistiek · 05/03/2007 16:09

Hey thanks for all the messages and advice...

I think I am going to try to take the iron tablets 1 every other day and try all the other stuff so I dont get to bungged up.

Dolly: we are in almost the exact boat - DS is also 23 months and I am having C-sec on the 22nd. Really anxious now but also worried about the healing time. Last time I did not have a 2 year old demanding my attention - thank goodness for my mum!

TheBlonde: I have heard about the thread to check your own cervix - would be very intersted to see it. where is it? Had no idea you could DIY that... its not the first time I have seen it mentioned so if you find it please let me know - curiosity killed the cat.... lol.

Going to have a long soak now - my back is killing me and I am getting cramps sitting here for too long... Later lovlies

sazzybee · 05/03/2007 16:16

Laidback - not an intrusion at all. Yes I can have another one with the same donor but I'm already 42 and not sure I can afford (or cope) to be a single mum to 2 kids at my advanced years
You never know - I might change my mind but right now I never want to be pregnant again!
I hope this sweep works. Maybe he does think I'll go into labour before. He said my cervix is favourable and 2cm dilated (was 1 last week) so I presume that's a good sign? Is it normal to bleed after a sweep incidentally?
This hanging around isn't much fun is it? (mistress of stating the bleeding obvious I am)

LunarSea · 05/03/2007 16:16

Sazzy - looks like things are pretty imminent for you anyway if you've started dilating now, so he probably thinks you'll pop naturally. Probably better tha way as you'll be able to build up to it gradually. I had to have an induction last time, and went straight from nothing to contractions of 45 seconds with on 15 seconds respite between them. Am not sure if I'll even recognise what's happening if I get a normal slower buildup this time!

Well I finally seem to be getting a bit more organised - have bought new pushchair/pram (plus another one for grandma as she didn't like either of ours last time), have sorted out all the newborn/0-3 clothes and don't need to get much (don't seem to have any hats or socks though, although am sure we must have had them before!). Task for tonight is a "still to get" shopping list - and dh's task is to get the cot out of the attic!

cervix thread!

Sazzy - a bit of blood is fairly normal after a sweep, 2cm sounds good!

bethoo · 05/03/2007 16:25

sazzy - i understand where you are coming from. i hated pregnancy, mostly cos of first trimester sickness then the way my once toned body was beyond my control. anyway during the labour i was adamant not going through this again but once he was out i was like yes i want another one and if dp does not mind being a donor then i may be on another thread next year as mw says because i am 100 per cent breast feeding i will unlikely conceive. but u neva know!!!

sazzybee · 05/03/2007 16:52

Aww - bethoo that's very encouraging. So pleased you're all loved up with your new baby. Oh and by the way Hayden is a gorgeous name

Piffle · 05/03/2007 17:42

Sounds like you're well on your way Sazzy, amazing for a consultant to lay off an induction
Bet you'll be off any minute...

TheBlonde · 05/03/2007 18:10

bethoo - you can still conceive while 100% bf - that's why some people end up with 2 kids in the same school year!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 05/03/2007 18:25

Diva says 'hi' to everyone. She's in because of the her BP going up and down.

bethoo · 05/03/2007 18:39

the blonde - oh so there is still hope. my mw said chances were low unless i go for a long period without a feed which may trigger ovulation. i will not say anything to dp about that!

TheBlonde · 05/03/2007 18:44

chances are low but it could happen - didn't want you to get caught out if you know what I mean

bethoo · 05/03/2007 18:59

the blonde - tbh it would not be a problem, actually hoping i do. prob still euphoric from the birth!!!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 05/03/2007 19:27

Steady on there bethoo or you'll end up like me

CallieNewMum · 05/03/2007 19:32

Kitty can you say hi to Diva from me too and wish her luck. By the way, those with constipation issues, have you tried eating dates? I was really worried about being constipated after DS was born so ate a couple or more dates in one day - oh my god, pooing like there was no tomorrow!!! Sorry if TMI but it might help.

Is Muppet having the baby do you think? Foxy and Sazzy, hope it all progresses for you. Sazzy btw, I went from 2 cm to 5/6 cm in an hour then had baby about 2.5 hours later...

Mistiek · 05/03/2007 19:44

hello - has anybody had any waters leaking? What does it smell like (sorry for the question). I know its supposed to be sweet. My discharged has gone from being completely mucusy and thick to a bit more calm straw coloured but only a small amount - smells like fruit juice. I have had niggles for the last 2 days and for the last 30 min keep getting some serious painfull twinges - not regular though. feels like baby is playing with my overies!

I am only 36+5 so not sure if its anything to worry about as for the constipation - well no need to worry today as had a massive clear out earlier????

Dont know whats going on here... probably nothing but what do you think? Dont you wish there was a timer/meter like when cooking a turkey that tells you when its ready or whats happening...

CallieNewMum · 05/03/2007 19:48

Anyone heard from Kiwi? we still don't know her daughter's name, do we?

Oh yes, Rosy, very belated happy birthday, and to Diva too when she gets back from hospital to read this. I'm sorry I missed your virtual party.

Booboobedoo · 05/03/2007 19:59

Dolly: I forgot to say how pleased I was that your waters turned out not to be a huge prob. Do we think Dr Sarah is perhaps a little over-relaxed?...

40+2. Keep telling myself it could be ages, but sooo fed up.

Chocolatepenny · 05/03/2007 20:46

Ha it gets really quite on here after 8, cos everybodies in bed! goodnight btw, I might be one of the 4am girls myself soon.

bethoo · 05/03/2007 20:52

mistiek-sounds like waters to me.

bethoo · 05/03/2007 20:54

mistie-also u r classed as full term at 37 weeks. sounds like a show where u have lost your mucus plug. may be worth letting your mw know if u have any questions

bethoo · 05/03/2007 21:26

Please click on my profile, I've posted photographs of Hayden and myself.

TheBlonde · 05/03/2007 21:32

Lovely pics - all sleepy!
