Where is Diva - hope she's OK?

Mossie · 05/03/2007 07:02

Morning Foxy, good luck with holding out for the disco balls! It must be very frustrating though especially with you having tried everything. I don't know if it is any use but I read in a book about "visualisation" and imagining everything "opening up" like the petals on a flower... but firstly you've probably already tried that and secondly, you'd probably need to be in Laidback's Cornwall garden anyway!

Well, I have had my bath, some toast and another coffee and I feel practically wired! I think a dog walk might calm me down so that's my next step.

Yes where is Diva, she wasn't too well yesterday?

foxabout2pop · 05/03/2007 07:22

Mossy - I'll try some visualisation - can't do any harm. Might try and visualise DT in his kilt as well

rosylonginglily · 05/03/2007 07:28

Hee hee, its been a busy night for everyone, glad I'm not the only one who's gone all manic!!!

Fox I will probably be in the same boat as you next week and by then you'll be all content with little Monti in your arms.

Eidsvold I don't know how you can bear that heat, when it gets too hot in Pakistan for me all I can do is lie in a heap.

Mossy are you drinking decaf coffee? If not then no wonder you are all awake and full of energy. Actually I wish I was full of energy, I probably need a few more breakfasts

The blonde my ds2 is two and over the past week or so he has started getting up and climbing into my bed in the night and I have no energy to relocate him, anyway he's so cuddly! It would be handy if he slept in his own bed all night though!

I bet Diva will have some news for us soon.

rosylonginglily · 05/03/2007 07:29

Foxy...float upon the big river of creation......

rosylonginglily · 05/03/2007 07:42

sazzybee · 05/03/2007 08:06

Morning all! Sorry you lot have been restless but hopefully you can fit in a snooze during the day. I had a weirdly good night which I'm not complaining about and now the sun is shining and the cat that had gone AWOL has returned so I'm happy. All quiet on the baby front - like yours foxy, mine is squiggling about and seems quite happy in the warm.
I suddenly realised that I'm likely to have a baby by this time next week. I know that's a bit obvious but it suddenly hit me .
Yes, where is that diva? And muppet. I wonder if she's gone straight to her induction or if it all kicked off again in the night?
Mossy - can you post your email addy again please? I didn't write it down when you did it before and now I can't remember where it was. I want to send you DT! (although it was very sad I thought and I wept buckets)

Chocolatepenny · 05/03/2007 09:11

Hi All nighters!
Callie thanks for that, it gives me an idea.. which I badly need! and congrats how do I get to see your site with baby pic on? Husbands website looks good too.
Bethoo congrats on baby, its really exciting now they are all arriving.
I slept Ok last night. Does anyone else battle with their bumps to stop them turning at this stage? My bump keeps wiggling into the back to back pos makes bump really raised on either side with a sunked belly button.
I tired to crawl about on all fours last night before bed and I actually nearly passed out. he's massive now and not at all a small bump.
Going to try get my hair cut today although I hope the chair is firm with a good back otherwise I'll be up and down.

Jaysecond · 05/03/2007 09:29

MORING SAZZY AND EVERYONE ELSE. oops caps. Bit of an awake night by all accounts, i too woke about every two hours, with maybe an hr or sleep in between, i thought about geting up but it was to much effort so i just read.
DD rash has gone down quite a bit today but shes still not right so off to docs to see if i can get her sorted before the boy arrives. I have also come down with ANOTHER cold, sore throat, ears etc.... god its never ending!

Thinking of those having inductions today, actually i think its just Muppet isnt it?

Hope all goes well for you Kitty, stick to what you want!!

Rosy, love the visulisation site, will have to have a better look later on!

Fox, good on you for trying everything under the sun, i gave up on the pinnapple, it was giving me such bad heartburn, had two hot currys at wkend though, really not sure i could manage the hot luvvin though, although if i go over then am guessing i will do anything, worked for DD so may work again!

What do people think of these names?

Marshall
Judd
Travis
Jensen

thats the top four we have at the mo, but it changes every few days!

Mistiek · 05/03/2007 09:29

Hello All,

New to this thread so have not managed to read all the entries as there is loads. Congrats to all of you who have just had your lo's.

I only have 17 days left - thank goodness...
I am having a c-sec on the 22nd March but am finding the waiting terrible. This is my second one but I am finding my patience wearing very thin this time round. Its been an emotional roller coaster for the last few month with 3 hospital stays for unexplained bleeding, Feeling very unwell and my iron levels dropping drastically leaving me feeling floored every day. To top it all off I burried my father last week so my emotions are everywhere...

I am now so worried something will happen to baby in the next few weeks and am now just so anxious. Just want this little angle here now so I can stop worrying and start feeling normal again and get back on my feet.

Grrrr - the waiting is terrible anyone have any ideas of how to keep my mind occupied, my 2 year old happy and for me not to spend my days on the couch feeling sorry for myself. Anyone have any ideas how to give myself an energy boost during the days as I really dont want to take the iron tablets as they make me feel so constipated!

I am glad I found this thread - really looking forward to chatting with others at the same stage as me...

Mistiek · 05/03/2007 09:32

Hey Jaysecond
Love the name Jensen. My nephew in South Africa is named Jensen and I think it is such an original name....

rosylonginglily · 05/03/2007 09:46

Jay my favourite is Jensen too. I hope you and dd are all better soon.

Hi MistieK You really have been having a hard time by the sounds of it. Sorry about your Dad, no wonder your emotions are everywhere at the moment.
I know what you mean about the iron, my levels are a bit low and I keep forgetting to take my tablets as they annoy my guts! I must take them though because I feel like a big listless lump!

LunarSea · 05/03/2007 09:49

Chocolatepenny - mine still seems to have plenty of room to turn. Midwife reckons he was side on, with his back on my right, last week but sometimes he's definately the other way round, and sometimes definately in the middle.

Jay - not overkeen on the militaristic connotations of Marshall (but quite like Mitchell which is similar sounding). Travis just makes me think of the tractor in Bob the Builder. Judd is ok if you've got a surname which goes with it, although I suspect a lot wouldn't (like Jude better though). Jensen kind of says motor facing fans to me, but I'm sure that's just because it's the only Jensen I can think of (and he owns a garage just down the road from me so I see the name around a lot) and I suspect the association will fade with time anyway.

Is anyone keeping a list of births to date/who's still waiting? I'm losing track!

OP posts:
Mistiek · 05/03/2007 09:57

Rosy - I love the way you put it, Listless Lump....

Now I have the perfect way to describe it. What do you do to prevent the constipation - sorry about the crappy subject - lol. If I did not get so bad I would take the tablets but its a fight at the moment from being terribly, badly constipated to feeling like a listless lump - as horrid as the tiredness is its not as painfull....

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 05/03/2007 10:06

Jay, names always seem to have connotations, so I will tell you what they are for your list. that is not to say that I dislike any of them .
Jenson-racing driver
Marshall,- bit American and reminds me of Edina's ex hubby in AB FAB
Judd-, was a character in Poldark
Travis- pop group
If I were to chose on it would be Judd

Sorry to all those who had a restless night. I actually slept quite well. I felt floored at the weekend, but don't feel so bad today. If I can't sleep I put on the hypnotherapy cd, that's always going to send me off within seconds . I do remember last time pacing the boards though, unable to sleep and watching strange tv. progs at 3 in the morning!!!

Foxy, well done on holding out. It's a tough thing to do, but think about those disco balls

Welcome Mistiek, these last weeks are hard. I have found that spatone is good fro the iron levels, is gentle on the tum and doesn't cause constipation. Sorry about you dad, I can't imagine how upsetting that must be, especially so close to the birth .

I wonder if Diva's droppped yet. She'll be sp happy if she has!

Piffle · 05/03/2007 10:06

I'm not ready to sprog yet
I am ready to endure 2-3 wks of annoying pre labour though, had it both times before
Spend every day from 4pm with period cramps and contractions.
Last night had 11 BH's in one hour.
Seriously, I don't get that many when I'm in bloody labour FGS
And went to bed at 9pm to lay down with hottie as was so crampy and if I lie down the BH's subside.
I may well take to my bed as a matter of course.
Mornings are ok so cramming a lot into them (as you can tell me sat on my ass here lol)

Had great sleep last night - took 2 paracetamol before bed due to neck pain and belly cramps and it did the trick. From 12am -5am
Bliss

I was worried about diva last night too, she popped into my head as I was laying in bed.
Hope she's ok, if they suspect pre eclampsia they don't muck around getting the baby out

Muppet good luck for today.
Foxy this whole pre labour business is wearing huh....
Hope you have a comfy day.

Ok just tapping fingers waiting for Sazzy to check in

Piffle · 05/03/2007 10:09

oh the names
Marshall v USA name, dp's boss is called Marshall, plus it's Eminems first name which makes it hard to imagine on a baby, plus folks shorten it to Marshy.

Judd I like

Travis - mmm no too country and western maybe?

Jensen I'm put off due to my mums 2nd husband, it was his surname and he was a violent ass.

Leoladyofleisure · 05/03/2007 10:36

Hi all, thinking of you all suffering the last weeks of pregnancy! Looking forward to you all joining us on the post-natal thread! !

xxx

Piffle · 05/03/2007 10:47

cheers leo Hope the boys are grand
You are the childbirth equivalent of a Bridget Jones "smug married" LOL

Mossie · 05/03/2007 10:55

Well, I walked the dogs and got an hour's sleep and now feel a whole heap better!!

Foxy - now come on, if you're going to do creative visualisation, you can do better than DT in his kilt. Sans kilt and you'll be in labour any second

Rosy - I was on the decaff, but when I realised that I wasn't going to get to sleep I had a cup of the real deal. I needed it though; I was exhaused but not sleepy iyswim, and probably would have collapsed half way through the dog walk!

Sazzy - glad your cat's okay. My email address is msrlmoss @ hotmail . com. Now if as you say you are sending DT (rather than the video) do wrap him up carefully!!

Chocolatepenny I don't know which way lo is facing, the mw didn't write it on my notes last time, and I'm not sure how to tell. I have an appt on Thursday so hopefully will find out then.

Jay sorry you're not feeling so good, hope you perk up soon. Marshall makes me think of Eminiem, and Travis, the band. But I really like Judd and Jensen.

Mistiek hello and welcome . I am sorry to hear about your Dad, that must have been awful for you.

I have had constipation too... (lol at "crappy subject"!) and I try to eat lots of fruit / drink lots of fruit smoothie, the stuff with bits in, as well as - and it is horrible tasting but needs must - prune juice.

Lunar how are you finding work, are you working from home yet?

Kitty glad you're feeling better and got some sleep.

Piffle glad to hear you got some sleep, those BH's sound awful, you poor thing!

Hi Leo hope you and your lo's are doing well!

Right... I'm off to eat an early dinner ("brunch"?) and watch some telly! I've a cup of Raspberry Leaf Tea brewing as I type so it might well be ready now!

LunarSea · 05/03/2007 11:17

Moss - I'm on to "reduced hours" now, which this week means I should get Tuesday off, and slightly shorter days the other 4 (but still in the nearest office, which is 1/2 hour away from home on 2 of them), then down to half days at most and working from home from next week.

OP posts:
Mossie · 05/03/2007 11:20

Well I suppose that's a bit better. I do feel for you having to work right up to your edd, but given the situation they didn't really give you much choice! I hope you somehow manage to take it "easy".

foxabout2pop · 05/03/2007 11:47

Hi

Just checking in briefly as I'm suffering from sleep deprivation and can't concentrate.

Kitty - hope you're feeling a bit better today

Mossy - of your nap this morning
Rosy - thanks for that picture. That's how I visualise laidback's woods! Also it mentions "Moss"...[spooky!}

Jay - I like Jensen and Judd is OK. Marshall is a bit militaristic/USA sounding

Hope Diva and Muppet are OK and close to holding their newborns

Piffle - this is all a bore isn't it....? Glad I'm not the only one with inefficient contractions though - makes me feel better to share the frustration, but your's sounds even worse than mine you poor thing. Is this your third baby too? (sorry, brain not working atm)

I cancelled my induction this morning at QC but rang the Birth Centre - spoke with a northern Irish male midwife, who was soooo lovely. They told me to call back at 2pm and they may be able to see me this arvo and measure my cervix's progress (or lack of). Maybe also give me a sweep, which could jog things along a bit. Still having sporadic contractions all the time.

Midwife said "you are 40....?"

Me: 43

Him: "Not your age silly, how many weeks?"

Me: "sorry I'm so used to being told I'm so ancient to be having a baby"

Him: "My Mum and gran both had babies at 45, and women have been doing so for ever, so 43 isn't old - you could still fit another one in"

The Birth Centre midwives are sooo fantastic and the consultants at QC sooo patronising (despite me being 43 they alsways talk to me as though I am five)

Mossie · 05/03/2007 11:48

Foxy you poor thing sorry you can't get any sleep.

But... now I have to know... are you going to fit another one in as the mw said, do you think?

foxabout2pop · 05/03/2007 11:56

Mossy - I'd like a number 4 but think I have left it too late and bearing in mind DH is somewhat older than me!!!!

If I could guarantee concieving within a year after Monti and could also control the gender (I'd love a sister for DD and she keeps saying "I like boy babies mummy, but you can have a baby girl next time can't you?")I would defo go for it, but would have to chase DH around the bed though

Realistically, its probably a no.
