New thread before the old one explodes!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Bethoo sounds like you are totally in love I had dd in bed with me from birth, then with ds2 tried to keep him in the cot but eventually he came in with me for about a year.

Kitty I know how you feel, I'm such a wreck today I still haven't got dressed! I just wanted to stay in bed all day but of course children to tend to.

Foxy and Muppet maybe tonight it'll happen, hope so! Not long now anyway. I'm feeling a bit restless and impatient, it's such a funny time waiting for labour, hard to focus on anything else!

39 weeks today

Piffle · 04/03/2007 21:21

Bethoo many congrats on Haydens arrival - sounds like a pretty great labour for an induction and first time!
Hope his feeding at night settles and you get some kip and rest. mothers can be terrific at this time

Really good luck to those being induced tomorrow - Muppet and maybe Foxy?

Nothing stunning to report from here, just plodding along. well waddling mostly actually...

eidsvold · 04/03/2007 21:32

bethoo - congrats on the arrival of wee Hayden ( like the name - family name in our family)

all the best for those off for inductions.

things are still moseying along here - managed to pack some more things in my hospital bag. Feeling so huge and uncomfortable - very humid but lots of rain promised this week so hopefully that will make it easier - what mad person gets pregnant and has the last trimester in the hottest time of year!! ME

we took the dds swimming yesterday and that was a lovely respite from the heat.

Off for consultant visit tomorrow,

Piffle · 04/03/2007 21:36

feel for you being heavily pregnant in the heat Eidsvold
I had ds in NZ in Feb and he was born on the hottest day of the year, when we left hospital he was only in short sleeved vest and nappy it was so hot!

I remember laying on my bed watching one day cricket with a water spray that I used to douse myself with in order to cool down

Not long to go though and great weather for a baby to be born into...

Jaysecond · 04/03/2007 21:42

quickie post, huge congratualtaion Bethoo on what sounds like a great labour and birth, Hayden is a lovely name, one that i have on my list!! Mind you the list has about ten names on it and they do keep changing, maybe i will do a poll see what everyone thinks?

Nothing but heartburn going on here, few cramps but thats it

Have a good evening peeps xx

CallieNewMum · 04/03/2007 22:17

So many babies!!! congratulations to Leo (have posted on your birth announcement too), Shanks, Magpie and Bethoo - I hope I haven't missed anyone out, have just read through six days of posts. Magpie, if I'd had a girl, I was going to call her Amelie too!!!!!

Foxy and Muppet and Piffle too - if you are in labour, good luck, thinking of you and looking forward to seeing those announcements.

Jay and Diva, sorry about your grandparents. Hope things are as good as they can be in the circumstances.

ChocolatePenny, my DP is the author. He said if it's for an hour, don't ask for less than £50, if it's for more, ask £40/hr (or more if you like!). His website by the way for those who have asked is here .

Can't remember what else, but hello to all.

CallieNewMum · 04/03/2007 22:36

xposts, Fox and Piffle, see you're still here. I haven't dared have Jordi in bed with me but I'd like to - how do you stop them getting under the duvet? Too scared in case something happens I think.

DollyPopsOut · 04/03/2007 22:37

Well done Bethoo and many congratulations. I know what you mean about being in love. I used to sit and watch DD for hours, just breathing quietly and snuffling away (her not me!)

Foxy and Muppet - sorry things haven't got going for you yet. Hope that the inductions go well. Foxy, have you had any more thoughts about holding on for the birth centre?

Eids - pity you in the heat! You must be roasting. Hope you are having lots of cool drinks and rest with your feet up.

Booboo - any news from round the corner?

Sazzy - sorry you are not underway yet. Enjoy your last few days of rest.

Mossy - I am arse end of March as well, so will be with you and Kitty as the thread gets smaller. Think Eids is 23rd March too so she'll be around for a while.

Hello to everyone else!

We picked up the double buggy today and it is GORGEOUS! DD is very taken with it. Her rabbit rode home in the baby's side, which she seemed to enjoy. Hope that she will give it up for the new baby though. Have to go to Kings tomorrow to see about my fluid levels. Am thinking that I will have to see the obs later in the week and they will monitor me. Loads more sitting around kings beckons. Deep joy!

Come on those babies! And hope everyone else sleeps well

rosylonginglily · 05/03/2007 02:54

I can't sleep too busy getting my knickers in a twist with myself and dh! I want everything to be calm and serene but instead I'm married to someone even more hectic and chaotic than myself.
Told him if I go into labour while he is in cork I feel like not telling him as I don't want him driving like a lunatic up the road (he's a bad enough driver as it is) and I wanted him to be around for a while so the kids can settle with him instead of everything being crazy as usual when he is about. Trouble is he really does have alot to do at the moment. And he always leaves everything until it's a state of emergency!

Argh I wish I knew when it will happen!

Callie I had a quick peek at your dhs site, it looks great fun!

I wonder is Diva ok because she didn't come back on after having anxiety about her blood pressure and babys movements... Maybe there will be a few birth announcements tomorrow!

Mossie · 05/03/2007 04:54

Bethoo big congratulations to you and little Hayden. I'm glad to hear your dp is coming through at last, it must be a huge weight off your mind. Co-sleeping sounds like a perfectly natural thing to do, as Kitty / Foxy say, it makes sense as he's used to spending time close to you anyway. I have a moses basket but will see how it goes, I like the idea of co-sleeping too.

Evenhope what's your dh like taking photos of you with your bum in the air?! I'm sure it's hilarious of course. Good luck with the mw tomorrow.

Muppet good luck with the curry, but if it doesn't work at least you know tomorrow things will kick off.

Foxy... you're holding out for the disco balls aren't you? Hope it goes okay!

Amie so glad to hear you and little Joseph are doing well.

Re: Wentworth (or "Went" - you know, first name terms, me an' him) he is yum, I had never even heard of him before one of my colleagues introduced me to his charms. We had a cupboard full of pictures of him, and David Tennant, in work. It's the only and I do mean the only thing I miss!!

Oh Eids I really feel for you, it must be so hot and difficult for you atm. Anyway you've stopped me complaining about the heat! I hope the rain cools things down for you.

Callie wow your dp's pretty prolific isn't he! Glad to hear you're doing well.

Dolly I thought you had a date for earlier now? Or am I confused!?

Rosy I hope you get things sorted out between you and your dh re: the birth, like you say, it's the fact you don't know when you will go into labour.

Hello to anyone I've missed.

I can't sleep actually, I'm quite tired but can't get comfy and have lots of thoughts going around in my head. I'll try again later I think!

TheBlonde · 05/03/2007 05:06

Morning Mossie! I can't sleep either so have got up briefly

Mossie · 05/03/2007 05:24

The Blonde, why can't you sleep?

(Sorry went off to try and find something on telly!)

TheBlonde · 05/03/2007 05:26

Woke up about an hour ago (for the loo as usual) went back for 30mins but no sleep so have got up. Will return to bed shortly

Feeling tempted to check on DS and see if he is still in bed (first night in big bed) but concerned I will wake him and regret it

Mossie · 05/03/2007 05:27

How old is your ds?

TheBlonde · 05/03/2007 05:28

He's just turned 2. Meant to get him into the bed much sooner as we need the cot for the new baby but with one thing and another it's taken a while

How are you? Why no sleeping?

Mossie · 05/03/2007 05:31

I can't get comfy in the bed, also I think I ate too much for tea so it's given me too much energy to sleep!

TheBlonde · 05/03/2007 05:33

Right I am off back to bed now
Take it easy and don't do too much now, it's far too early

Mossie · 05/03/2007 05:34

Hope you get some sleep! I'm sure your ds will be okay.

I am going to channel surf until I find something vaguely watchable!

Mossie · 05/03/2007 05:45

Well, there is sweet FA on the telly except an episode of Voyager I've already seen. Lol it's the one where they can't sleep (but it's because they meet aliens in their dreams - slightly different than me).

I'm going to wash up. I might as well do something productive! Anyway it's not as though I'm in work tomorrow. I'd better get used to this sleep deprivation lark anyway!

eidsvold · 05/03/2007 06:04

finding it hard to sleep here too - seems like I just get comfortable ( finally) and get to sleep and it is time to get up.

Off for morning tea with the mums from kindy tomorrow then off to see the Obstetrician.

DH is able to flex off the afternoon so I can meet him at work ( he works in the children's section of the hospital) and he can take dd2 home and get dd1 from kindy - saves having two of them at the antenatal appt. That should be my last one at the hospital - next time I am there I will be having the babe.

trying to line up a babysitter so we can go out the weekend before we have the baby - know we won't be doing that for a while after no3 arrives.

bloomin rain did not last so back to stinky humidity.... I just seem to be dripping with sweat all the time. If i remotely exert myself ie walk up the stairs - I am covered in sweat....

Mossie · 05/03/2007 06:06

Do you have air conditioning, or a big fan?

What time is it in your neck of the woods?

Mossie · 05/03/2007 06:24

Well, I've done the washing up, I have swept up and managed to "push through" to BBC Breakfast News which is much better. A coffee and a bath and a dog walk and I might just be ready to go back to bed!

eidsvold · 05/03/2007 06:28

4.27pm here - dds are being indoctrinated by the wiggles I am just chilling out. Have ceiling fans in our bedrooms and with all the windows open we do get a breeze - I am just being moany.

Hope you get some sleep today.

Mossie · 05/03/2007 06:33

Oh I will eventually! It will probably be a bit later on though as I am now feeling wide awake. Not sure how that happened

I asked if you had fans, 'cos when it's hot here (I know the heat isn't comparable but ykwim) I put a bottle full of ice cubes on a chair in front of the fan so the bottle is directly in front of the fan, and the air it blows is even cooler.

foxabout2pop · 05/03/2007 06:56

oooh I wish I'd known you were all up half the night as I was too!!!

I've had about 4 hours sleep after false labour contractions again all night and have tried every trick in the book now: endless curries, about 10 pineapples in the last five days, sex, walking, climbing up and down stairs, dancing, nipp stim, clary sage baths, the list goes on...

I will concel my induction today and see if they can just monitor Monti instead, though he's moving fine and seems quite happy in there in the warm... Dolly/Mossy, I'm holding out for those disco balls, but will take my bags to hossie anyway, just in case.

Muppet (where is Muppet?) - if you haven't popped already good luck with the induction - it'll be fine and you'll have your LO in your arms very soon!!

Piffle - thanks for the clary sage tip - had a bath at 2am and the clary sage didn't start labour but it really helped me to go back to sleep, until 4.30am How's it going BTW?

Callie - glad to hear you and Jordi are doing fine. I put my newborns over the other half of the bed (kick DH out) with their own blanket and just use a single duver for me. That way, they don't get squished or slip under my duvet. DH is quite happy to sleep solo rather than get woken every 2 hours for feeding time

BTW, those with lovely newborns; how are they sleeping and how often are you feeding them?

Hope everyone else is OK...
