Oh bugger this full moon - my waters have broken - i have flooded the bed!

No contractions - have to pop to hospital to check it is the waters - if it isn't i have a serious incontinence problem!

Who just gave birth when their waters went first - was is magpie or shanks?

This is exactly what happened both other times - no bloody contractions!

GARRRRGGGHHHH

Bet you're all in bed you lot!!!

muppetisacat · 03/03/2007 23:59

Eids - the australian contingent - are you up and awake yet early on a sunday morning!!!???

Have to wait half an hour b4 my friend comes to babysit the dc's - my dh is calmly putting up kitchen cupboards!!!

sazzybee · 04/03/2007 00:09

I'm still awake muppet! Blimey, gosh, wow! Now what happens? Have you called the hospital??????

I'm sure you can tell the diff between wee and fluid

muppetisacat · 04/03/2007 00:14

Oooh - hooray you're up!!

It's defo the waters - exactly what happened with other 2 - am just waiting for my friend to arrive so we can go and get it confirmed. Then I'll come home and probably just try to sleep!

It's very awkward as whenever i bend forwards i gush rather!!!

sazzybee · 04/03/2007 00:20

Have you got some plastic and a couple of towels to sit on?
How long did you have to wait with the other two between waters going and your contractions starting? Sleep sounds like a good idea when you get home. I think I'd be too excited though. Hooray - you're going to have an eclipse boy!

muppetisacat · 04/03/2007 00:26

Yes... lots of towells!!!

With dd - it was nightmare - waters went at about midnight... thought it meant she would appear any minute as very naive! so spent all that night trying to get things going, then all the following day in hospital trying to get things going - finally at about midnight that night contractions were enough to get me onto labour ward. DD was born the following afternoon at 4pm!! I was exhausted!

With ds waters went again about midnight (do you see a pattern here???) but i rested and through the night contractions did start but went to hospital late morning and they weren't anything special so i let them epidural/drip me to speed it up and he was born about 4pm too.

So with this one i guess i should try to rest tonight and see what happens...

it is exciting though isn't it!!!

sazzybee · 04/03/2007 00:30

In that case, definitely get some shuteye when you get back - you need to save your energy. I'm going to have to go to bed I'm afraid but I'll be thinking of you - post when you get back from the hospital. Tomorrow (well today now) is my best friend's birthday so it's a good day to have a baby.
Am very excited for you - night night xx

rosylonginglily · 04/03/2007 06:57

Ooh Muppet how exciting! Hope you were able to sleep! It'll probably be quicker this time I'm sure. Maybe you already have your baby!!! Thinking of you and looking forward to news

foxabout2pop · 04/03/2007 07:19

Oh Muppet that's fantastic (wonder if Muppet has her baby yet?) - at least with your waters gone you know you'll give birth very, very soon!!!

oooh that's so exciting

I've had a very eventful night. Having slept really well all this week, I retired to bed last night "knowing" my night would be disrupted (could feel it in me amniotic waters).

I was woken by strong contractions at 3am and was having them 10 minutes apart and the proper regular/take your breath away type.

Rang QC at 3.35am and was contemplating ringing my sister to get her over from Croydon.

I then spotted a pile of vomity bed clothes on the floor. DD had vomited during the night and DH (bless 'im) had changed her bed for her, without waking Hefferlump here.

I have spent since 3.30am washing vomity bed clothes and sitting in a hot bath to slow the contractions down.

Can you beleive this?

I couldn't face bringing my sister over to face vomity children and couldn't face leaving DD when she's sick - specially as she would've woken to find Mummy and Daddy gone.

Anyway DD is up now, I am quite wrinkly from 2 hours sitting in the bath and contractions seem to be returning.... keep your ovaries crossed for us girls - maybe Muppet and I will both give birth today!

rosylonginglily · 04/03/2007 07:27

Ooh Fox poor dd, hope she's ok. So you have a date with a disco ball today...brilliant, am excited for you!!

foxabout2pop · 04/03/2007 07:32

Rosy - "try relaxing totally, rest, do yoga , meditate on your navel...let go, float upon the big river of creation and let mother nature possess you..."

sazzybee · 04/03/2007 07:43

foxy! I got up expecting a message from muppet and it's you instead! And she's gone all quiet - maybe she never came back from the hospital?!
How exciting! And how sweet of your DP to deal with your DD in the night but you are the star of the show now - time for you to take the limelight my dear. x
I've had periody cramps all night long but that doesn't mean anything does it? The spooky lady who put her hand on my bump without asking on Friday and said 'it's a boy isn't it?' also said that she thought he would be born on Sunday. Please tell me that isn't the case - I'm not ready!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 04/03/2007 08:09

Wow, Foxy and Muppet, how very exciting for you. I am indeed very, very that your babies are pretty punctual. Dance around that disco ball Foxy .
For a March thread there have been alot of babies alrerady haven't there? I shall be waiting for news!!!!

TheBlonde · 04/03/2007 08:33

Wow, hope all is going well for Muppet and Fox

Fox - you are too considerate about the vomit!

muppetisacat · 04/03/2007 09:07

It's me! came back from hospital after half an hour monitoring - all seemed ok - managed to drench the bed whilst there!

Absolutely no contractions whatsoever... story of my life! Am going for a walk to see if they feel like happening ... otherwise it's in to be induced tomorrow at 8am!

Either way i don't care anymore! Just need to crack on with it

Best of luck Foxy... you sound well on your way!

I'll check in later ladies!

39+2

Chocolatepenny · 04/03/2007 09:08

Muppet and Fox are having their babies! hooray very excited. I am painting living room today inlaws have given in to my nesting urge and come around to help out.
Come on you Babies!

Mossie · 04/03/2007 09:30

Foxy and Muppet - good luck today with your babies! How exciting!

Hello everyone else too!

Short msg this morning, I am very tired, as I stayed up last night to watch the lunar eclipse. I usually go to bed by ten atm so I am cream crackered! Am going to walk the dogs and then I think I might go back to bed for a bit!!!

rosylonginglily · 04/03/2007 09:42

Muppet posted on your childbirth thread, maybe you'll get some sympathy and labour starting advice on there today!

Jaysecond · 04/03/2007 10:37

good morning to one and all, great news Muppet and foxy, you both shoild be well on your way, try and get some rest, to conserve your energy for later labour, and of course keep us posted, oh lord its all happening, am very jelous of you both, but happy too !

I stayed up till about 12 watching the eclipse also, it was quite magical and a bit strange, you can imagine how people of 'old' thought it was 'spoky' and 'mystical' i remember the solar eclipse, that was awesome!

Well DD has woken this morning with yet more spots on her body, but now they are on her arms up her neck, on her face just about everywhere except her legs. Spoke to NHS direct again, and just have to keep an eye and keep giving calpol, if its the same tomorrow go to gps. Poor thing is feeling under the weather

Notihng to report here re cramps or waters breaking, now that i havnt popped on the day i really thought i would i have a feeling i am going to be late...guess time will tell!

LaidbackinEngland · 04/03/2007 10:49

Congratulations Magpie .... get some photos on soon - beautiful name ...sounds like she could be an actress ! I would like a similar birth AFTER Wednesday and preferably not on the A30.... if I get this house - you are all invited to my wood to run naked, enveloped in mother nature.....

or we could all just have some wine and a picnic ?

Go Foxy and Muppet ... The child that is born on the sabbath day is bonny and blythe and good and gay

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 04/03/2007 10:57

laidback, can I have wine and cake and can we all chip in for a super childminder to entertain the children the entire time too please?

Booboobedoo · 04/03/2007 11:45

Morning! How exciting Muppet and Foxy! (See, I knew you'd beat me birth-buddy ).

Am on tenterhooks now.

I had some cramps at about 5am again (having been kept awake until 3am by heartburn), so am knackered. I'm going to attempt to walk the dog with DH today to try to get things moving. The thing is, I can only walk at about 0.25 mph as Jonny's head is wedged down firmly between my legs. Ouch.

Wasn't the eclipse beautiful? We watched it through the living room window. I kept telling Jonny that the stars were auspicious for his birth, but he didn't care. Maybe he'll turn out to be as cynical as his mother...

Laidback: bagsy the wine & picnic idea. Too many unexpected sharp objects in woods for the naked idea . We could paint the kids in woad.

40+1
Boy

Piffle · 04/03/2007 12:28

Fingers crossed for Muppet starting spontaneously (I would cross ovaries but I only have one )
Foxy all good signs can't be far off now.
Sazzy I got lots of period aches the 48 hrs before I had dd not always with contractions

I was laying down watching Forrest Gump last night and got some very sore period cramps followed by I've got to move NOW contractions

I did have a bath and rub with clary sage earlier yesterday though

Sounds like babies are on the move all around us!

foxabout2pop · 04/03/2007 12:36

My contractions stopped again this morning - you lot are probably starting to suspect I am making this all up aren't you?

They just stopped dead, so I went back to bed and had a nap.

Muppet - I have an induction booked in for 8.30am tomorrow too - how spooky

(Do you think that woman who prodded you was a witch? )

I'm not going though as once I've had medical interference I can't use the birthing centre - and I've been waiting 9 long months to see those disco balls so will hold out!!

How lovely to know you've have your baby by tomorrow night though - that's so exiting.

Boo - you might still beat me yet!!

Sazzy - your cramps are your body gearing up aren't they - I was having those on Wednesday - I just hope that once yours gets going it moves a bit quicker than mine!

Ditto about the wine in the woods Laidback - you gotta buy that house now you know!!

Right, off to eat my samosas and pineapple, follwed by some brisk walking up and down stairs and a read of Muppet's new thread.....

foxabout2pop · 04/03/2007 12:38

Hi Piffle - x posts - ooh looks as though your about to be on your way too!!!! Maybe we'll have three new babies by tomorrow night!!
