Flymo* just realised I mis-read your post, sorry your DH won't be there to find out the sex, could you have a private scan when he is around so he can be with you?

LouLou030783 · 18/03/2017 09:06

I'm glad my maternity pay is good think we get 6 weeks full 18 weeks half plus smp then 13 smp last of it is unpaid, but we can equalise our payments so we get the same amount every month, I'll be going back to work 19 weeks pregnant, our mat pay is calculated between 17 and 25weeks so the only good thing is I'm Back to usual pay after next week as using holidays before I go back.. I'm not sure my work will be too happy returning from mat leave pregnant 🙈🙈🙈

The ones who are all going to find out the sex have u booked gender scans or are U going to wait until after 20 week scan and see if they can tell u?

oliversmummy26 · 18/03/2017 09:18

We've booked a private gender scan for Mother's Day so we can bring DS along. Can't wait!
14+6

Fluffywallow · 18/03/2017 09:29

Mines a private gender scan at 17 weeks, primarily so DD can join us. And then I'm hoping to get it reconfirmed at 20 weeks scan!

LouLou030783 · 18/03/2017 09:35

I think I'm going to wait until 20 weeks then if they can't tell me book one x

calimommy · 18/03/2017 10:22

They just told me the gender over the phone and then I txd DH, we are not sentimental people 😂

LouLou030783 · 18/03/2017 11:49

How come they could tell u over the phone Cali xx

StarWish1 · 18/03/2017 12:25

Went for a private gender scan this morning but they couldn't be sure. The sonographers initial reaction was boy but she couldn't be sure. We've got a free rescan next week. So frustrating!

LouLou030783 · 18/03/2017 12:42

Oh no star what a nightmare hopefully they know for certain next week how far along are u x

Fluffywallow · 18/03/2017 13:02

How frustrating star! And you build yourself up for it don't you. Hopefully they can be sure next week!

StarWish1 · 18/03/2017 13:31

16+4 - I don't mind either way, I was just looking forward to knowing

Travelgeek · 18/03/2017 16:10

We definitely want to find out, but are just waiting for the 20 week scan.

They may not like it Lou, but there's not much they can do about it! It's good they equalize your payments. I'm going to ask hr about if they can do it too.

Fluffywallow · 18/03/2017 16:23

Lou if it makes you feel any better I used to work in hr and plenty of women came back to work pregnant. It's not all that uncommon and certainly wasn't frowned upon.

LouLou030783 · 18/03/2017 17:24

Thanks fluffy that's good to know, I think it's just because I have older children from a previous relationship ( they are 14 and almost 11) so when I fell pregnant with my now 8 month old everyone is work was so shocked that I think me going back pregnant will kill them off 😂

Fingers crossed they no without a doubt next week star. I'm the same travel I'm just going to wait however I'm pretty sure it's a boy

calimommy · 18/03/2017 18:39

lou I had blood work done at 9 weeks and they test for the presence of y-chromosome. If it's there then it's a boy, if not, girl.

LouLou030783 · 18/03/2017 22:43

Ah ok Cali so u have known since early on

calimommy · 19/03/2017 01:39

Yes, and it was first time finding out. I have to say that previously it was wonderful not knowing but this time it was brilliant to find out! I'm delighted we did. X

flymo79 · 19/03/2017 07:06

Just in a food daze... First roast in Malaysia and I had about three helpings of everything!!! Urrrrrgh my poor tum.... Now for a small nap (I wish!!! Dd is running amok)

sherbertlemon17 · 19/03/2017 07:54

I've changed my mind about finding out this time. To start with I wanted to know, but as times gone on, I think we're going to keep it a surprise again. I have no inkling at all this time whether it's a boy or girl. Anyone else planning on not finding out the gender?

flossie80 · 19/03/2017 07:57

We're not planning on finding out. Much like you, I was desperate to at first but as time has gone on, we've decided not to find out and keep it as a surprise!! 15 weeks today and since having our combined test results back, am getting more excited by the day!

flossie80 · 19/03/2017 07:58

Don't think I really believed there was a baby until we saw the scan and had results!

turtletum · 19/03/2017 15:15

We're not planning on finding out the sex either lemon as I tend to over plan. I'm quite excited for it to be a surprise.

londonfeather · 19/03/2017 21:09

I've gone the other way, initially we weren't going to find out but as the time has gone by we've been more and more curious to find out. I'm convinced boy, he's convinced girl so can't wait to see who is right.

Heyitsholly · 19/03/2017 21:13

We are still 50/50 we didnt last time but i was so out of it after an emcs that it didnt register for ages!! So tempted this time. But worried about the risk of it being wrong. My midwife on delivery told us loads of stories where it had been wrong and people were heartbroken.
