london i don't live in London but when I was pregnant with DS I was massive (and i mean massive!) and clearly struggling on several city visits and not once did anyone give up a seat on the tube, worse still one journey as had to change far out once was 30 minutes + long and i just got stared at the whole way as i was made to stand up the entire time. I left that day thinking everyone in London were arseholes! Put me off going when pregnant tbh and must be hard living/commuting there daily x

Lules · 10/03/2017 19:24

I haven't found it too bad. Last pregnancy most of the time someone gave me a seat, especially when I got massive. This pregnancy I tend to go in before rush hour and coming home is at a major interchange so I mostly get a seat anyway but I have been offered one the time I didn't. You have to position yourself next to the seats and look at each person sitting in turn though.

sherbertlemon17 · 10/03/2017 20:04

Yay Holly & Lules! It's finally our turn!Grin And fingers crossed the sickness stays away for you.

LouLou030783 · 10/03/2017 20:15

Is anyone's edd same as mine 28/9 obvs that may change at scan on Thursday. I can't believe people are so rude on public transport I'm glad I don't live In a major city and can use the car all time I'd end up losing my shit with rude people not giving pregnant especially heavily pregnant a seat

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 11/03/2017 09:44

12 weeks today Grin 12 weeks today Grin

turtletum · 11/03/2017 14:39

I've got my scan on Thursday, nervous and excited. I'm 11+6 today. Sadly a friend who was also in 11th week miscarried this week, so sad for her.

LouLou030783 · 11/03/2017 19:15

Aww turtle that's horrible x hope she's ok

sherbertlemon17 · 12/03/2017 19:47

Oh turtle, how utterly devastating...

How's everyone feeling this weekend?

kep1979 · 12/03/2017 20:42

I don't want to curse it but I think I may have started feeling better. Am now only sick every few days - although was violently sick on Wednesday night quite randomly! And the all day nausea seems to be subsiding too.

Scan tomorrow - really nervous even though this is scan number three and only been two weeks since the last one.

n0ne · 12/03/2017 21:12

OMG, now it's heartburn killing me! All evening I've been in agony. No Rennies in the house, no shops open (not in this country on a Sunday evening). Hope I'll be able to sleep Angry

Kskifred · 12/03/2017 21:31

i have been feeling better and no vom for over a week now but i've had the nausea today it's been horrible and unnerving i'm hoping it was something i have eaten rather than a new wave! Thought i'd said bye to that now! Heartburn and indigestion though is another story i still can't eat most meat or cheese Sad less exhausted though and slightly less bloat. 2nd trimester approaching this week Grin

StarWish1 · 13/03/2017 08:02

Morning. I'm 16 weeks tomorrow but have my midwife appointment today. What should I expect from the 16 week midwife appointment?? Also got to go to the hospital for more blood tests tomorrow as they couldn't take the nuchal measurement at the 12 week scan.

flymo79 · 13/03/2017 08:36

Very sorry to read about your friend turtle, devastating.

oliversmummy26 · 13/03/2017 10:38

Star MW today should be BP, wee, she may listen for a heartbeat? Just a quick check over really, nothing too exciting, though will be lovely to hear baby Smile

14+1 today and I've had my first fluttering movements over the weekend, only 2-3 times and only if I'm sitting still and quiet, but still very exciting!

DS was kissing and cuddling my bump in the playground this mornign when I dropped him at school.. Running into his classroom shouting "bye bye little baby!" So cute! Grin

EssentialHummus · 13/03/2017 10:38

Happy Monday everyone. Feeling OK-ish here, but (TMI alert) a bit constipated and still having some food aversions.

I have a feeling the only response is "Ask the hospital", but I'm mildly worried so wanted to check if anyone knew... When I had my booking in appt, I was given the date for my 16 week appt. When I had my 12-week scan, I was given the date for my 20 week scan. Fine, but I've now had a letter from the hospital for an obstetrics appt, at the exact same time as my 16 week midwife appointment, at the hospital, without any explanation/further info. The hospital isn't answering their phone.

Blood tests were all normal - does anyone know what this appointment could be for?

15 weeks today.

oliversmummy26 · 13/03/2017 10:55

Hummus no idea I'm afraid, but I would rebook your 16 week midwife appointment asap, as I doubt the hospital appointment will be instead of seeing your midwife...maybe try for a slightly earlier MW appointment and she may be able to shed some light on it. Can you try getting hold of MW on the phone in the meantime?

Fluffywallow · 13/03/2017 13:48

Morning all, been a bit quiet as had a bit of a scare. DD got quite poorly late last week and after numerous trips to the dr she was diagnosed with slapped cheek (otherwise known as fifth disease or parvovirus B19) which isn't too serious for a child (just a virus) but can be very bad news for pregnant women (or more to the point, their babies) especially in the second trimester.

I had a blood test to check if I was immune (approx 60% people are) but have had to wait until today for confirmation - I've been all over the place with worry. But I'm immune, thank god.

Just wanted to warn you all to just be extra cautious and if you are exposed to any children with a rash on their face maybe call your midwife (it's most prevalent in spring and autumn). Once the rash is out the contagious period is over but at least you could get checked and treatment begun if necessary. This is my 2nd child and I had no idea that it was a risk so thought it would be useful to share.

I am so relieved I cannot tell you!

Lules · 13/03/2017 14:00

Pleased that it's ok fluffy I had it as a child and it was fine but as you say worrying if you're pregnant.

Those of you who have a child already, did any of you have a c section? Just above my scan is hurting and itchy, anyone else? It's really annoying. I asked the midwife and she said it's just where things are stretching and to try to take it easy. No idea how you do that it with a toddler who obviously needs/wants to be picked up!

calimommy · 13/03/2017 14:24

I know I love that. (I don't love it). "Don't lift anything too heavy and try to have a rest for your self during the day" yeeeeeaaaah. Small detail, who's going to look after my children? I know they both have fine legs but even the 3 yo needs to be picked up for one reason or another sometimes. And has anyone ever tried arm wrestling a 1.5yo into a car seat? Every. Single. Time? Like seriously, everyone's on about which car seats are safer, etc. By and large, inorder to be on the market, they are all 'safe'. I'm MUCH more interested in which car seats are the EASIEST TO WRESTLE A TODDLER INTO. Now that's a Top Ten List I need to see...!

StarWish1 · 13/03/2017 14:29

Glad you've got the all clear Fluffy

oliversmummy26 · 13/03/2017 14:47

Lules I had a section with my DS and I have been finding that my scar itches occasionally, but it hasn't been painful at all..

StarWish1 · 13/03/2017 15:19

Lules I had my appendix out when I was a teenager and I found that scar used to itch occasionally for a few years after. Guess as you're growing so much in that area it makes sense for your scar to be itching. Maybe talk to your gp if it's really bad though?
Successful 16 week appointment this afternoon - she heard the heartbeat 😊

flymo79 · 13/03/2017 15:21

So glad all well and yy to the toddler wrestling! That's me at bedtime and pretty much every time we leave somewhere she's been playing!!

Lules · 13/03/2017 17:44

That's lovely star. It took a long time for my c section to heal and it's sore in the same spot so I think it's just that. Also I swear I just had Braxton-Hicks. I don't think you can get them this early though.

sherbertlemon17 · 13/03/2017 19:22

Great news Fluffy. How's your DD feeling now?

And great news that lots of you are starting to feel a bit more normal again now. Kep how was your scan today?

Scan for us tomorrow! I'm such a jumble of nerves and excitement. I just pray it goes ok.
