I have a bugaboo bee, as does basically everyone else I see around. It's great - small and light-ish but not flimsy and does parent and front facing.

EssentialHummus · 06/03/2017 18:24

Wow, thanks cali! I'm dragging DH into a Toys R Us / Mothercare this weekend to start test-driving all these.

MrsY87 · 06/03/2017 18:37

I have a vista and a bee, both have their pros and cons and it really depends on how you will be using your buggy.
The vista is great as it has a huge basket underneath so you can fit loads of stuff in but it is quite big (wide/heavy) particularly when using public transport, in restaurants etc. the big wheels mean it is great for being out and about across rough terrain.
The bee is much more public transport friendly, easy to collapse but storage isn't great and the smaller wheels do mean I seem to feel every pot hole or bump much more than I do when I'm using the vista but I much prefer it if we are just popping into town to do a few bits or to a restaurant as it doesn't take up as much space!
My SIL has the Cruz and loves it too, I think it is probably a good cross between the vista and the bee as it has a bit more storage and bigger wheels than the bee but isn't quite as wide and heavy as the vista!

I could talk about prams all day too!! Haha!

Fluffywallow · 06/03/2017 19:42

I expect prams have come on in the 3 yrs or so since I last bought one but I have the bugaboo chameleon and love it - found it great for walks, plenty of storage and comfy for baby/toddler. Folds small enough to fit in a boot and is easy to collapse.

Also have a silver cross pop umbrella stroller for holidays - it has been through the mill and on countless flights and is still going strong. I'm very impressed at its durability for little more than £100.

Heyitsholly · 06/03/2017 19:51

Ill buck the trend. I bout a kiddicare 3 in 1 for 200 of groupon. Its fab. I dont ise it anymore with dd at nearly 2 but its good for the second. Imo you can spend alot of money for no real gain

Heyitsholly · 06/03/2017 19:52

bought use

sherbertlemon17 · 06/03/2017 20:15

Thanks lovies Smile Not feeling quite so green this evening so hopefully have seen the worst of this bug now.

Oh I love a bit of buggy chat! Just to throw my 2 pennies in, we have an ICandy Strawberry 2 at the mo, purely because it was cheaper than the Peach and included the carrycot. We love the ease and manoeuvrability of it, but wish we'd have gone for the Peach now because we need a double.

Now looking between the Peach, Vista and Baby Jogger Select as a double. Anyone got experience with a bugaboo donkey? They just look and feel so wide!

Pinkbottletop · 06/03/2017 20:30

I'm planning on the bugaboo buffalo and got my heart set on it. Just love all the little added touches and how easy it is to use.

Scan today. All is well. Lazy baby though wouldn't move no matter how much I coughed and wiggled and jumped. Moved a day forward to 17th September.

Two friends I shared this with said boy. OH in the scan said boy but we both want a girl. What do you think?

Delighted this chat has started on all things pram/pushchair etc!

We went looking at the weekend, mainly because a local shop is closing and that is where ALL my family for generations have been going.

I am between the icandy peach (worried it is more style over substance) and the silver cross pioneer, limited edition Henley.

Both have so many pros and cons against each other. Love looking at them with carrycots in, but the stroller bits scare me as seem massive and too far away haha.

Any advice on these?

TotTickle · 06/03/2017 20:57

I have the uppababy vista and love it. Bought it as it can be a double buggy which I will put into practice come September with a 21 month and newborn. I'm very tall so wasn't keen on the icandys etc as they seemed really low down. I have just bought a silver cross pop to go on holiday and have used it a couple of times and really love that too. I'm jealous of you all going through pram buying again I loved it. X

Travelgeek · 06/03/2017 21:11

Evening ladies. Just catching up after the weekend. Enjoying reading all your pram/ pushchair experiences as I spent far too long on the internet on Sunday looking at them and am starting to get a feel for what I want but there are so many! Glad I'm not jumping the gun thinking about these things so early. Think the next step is to drag DH out to mothercare and mamas and papas to have a look at some in real life. Exciting!

Pinkbottletop · 06/03/2017 21:20

amz wish I'd seen your post before my scan! So surreal seeing bubba lazily kicking its feet up!

kep1979 · 06/03/2017 21:52

I have a Bugaboo Buffalo at the mo and LOVE it! Definitely not the lightest to lift but a dream to push, deals with 'off-road' really well, and our tall daughter has plenty of room in (and the carrycot was really roomy too).

Now going to get a donkey; they push as well, and they are apparently the narrowest double (not sure how true that it!)

Oh and I have a Cybex Cloud Q too - dd just moving into next size up (we have one Cybex Sirona M2 and one Nuna Reno plus). I do rate the Cloud Q, even though it took me ages to work out the recline! It doesn't lie flat in the car (some clever gizmo stops it) but does on the pushchair (fits on the Buffalo with maxi-cosi adapters). We have the isofix base but it is pretty sturdy with just the seatbelt too.

flymo79 · 07/03/2017 02:55

Now I'm stressing out! We need to get a whole travel system with car seat but am really reluctant to buy new.. Am hoping some families will leave in summer and have a clear-out!!

puttingourhoodupdown · 07/03/2017 08:55

I really wanted the icandy peach with DD but decided against it due to the price. I went for the Quinny buzz because I had a mini at the time and it was one of the few that could fit in my boot. I really got on board with it...easy to push as its 3 wheel. Can also be parent and world facing. Has absolutely no storage but that wasn't an issue for me first time around. DD is 3 and still fits in it for dog walks. I'll be using it again and getting a buggy board.

Kskifred · 07/03/2017 09:17

Flymo we are also going to buy a second hand double pram, I can't justify the expense of a new one when my DS should really be walking anyway. There is nothing wrong with buying pre loved as even with new it will get scraped up pretty quickly and look no different.

I would always advise buying a new car seat though (unless it's from a friend you know well and really trust) as it's really important the seat hasn't been in an accident. Everything else except perhaps mattresses I would happily buy second hand this time.

oliversmummy26 · 07/03/2017 10:53

kep did you have the cybex cloud Q and carrycot as well? I'm struggling to decide on getting a carrycot and a 0-4 years car seat or the cybex then a 2nd stage car seat...I am really struggling with the idea of spending so much money on several car seats for the sake of 9 or so months..

Pinkbottletop · 07/03/2017 11:08

Anyone good at nub theories? I can't even see in my scan pic where the nub even is?!! #failmum

Kskifred · 07/03/2017 11:44

pink the nub isn't very clear but it's what I think I can see then I would guess boy, but it's not really clear from this pic. Got any more side-on ones?

Pinkbottletop · 07/03/2017 12:00

Thanks kskifred no clear pics no matter how much I tried to get bubba to move. This is the other picture.

This is purely vicarious because we aren't getting a new buggy but I saw this and it's so cool I love it!

calimommy · 07/03/2017 15:16

star yeah it's the cameleon but I just love the colour. I had a brown base and turquoise top with brown leather handles. I'm just being nostalgic 😝

oliversmummy26 · 07/03/2017 16:31

Change of subject, sorry, but has anyone had their exemption certificate yet? I haven't had mine and must mention it to midwife at next appointment, but just wondered if this was normal?
