Oh, I never put my scan pic! A week+ old now but here you go. DH reckons it looks like a boy, I think he might be right. But then I thought DD was a boy so what do I know!

After good results yesterday finally told family and friends. Fairly subdued reactions from family but it's the second child so less interesting, I guess (I speak from experience as a 2nd child myself!) Telling DD was wonderful, though, she's so excited, and said she will share all her toys. Little cutie Grin

Lovely pic n0ne!

Star I wouldn't worry, I didn't properly start showing until about 16 weeks with my 1st. Smile

londonfeather · 04/03/2017 12:09

StarWish1 don't worry about not showing- I'm 13+3 and I look completely normal - even my smallest jeans are still fitting - I'm quite a small person in general so I don't know if stature has anything to do with it. I'm imagining one day I'll wake up and have just 'popped'.
We've decided that we will find out the sex at the next scan - I'm so convinced it's a boy, think I'll be shocked if it's not!

I'm out shopping later - thinking of buying the bab a first item - just one! But don't know if it's too early!!!

StarWish1 · 04/03/2017 12:56

Thanks London and Sherbert - I just seem to find something new to worry about each day - this pregnancy is turning me into a crazy lady! I have started looking at bits and bobs in the shops. We're off out this afternoon and might be tempted to look in the baby section of a few shops. What makes you think it's a boy London?
Lovely scan pic n0ne

londonfeather · 04/03/2017 13:52

I've just had a gut feeling it's a boy since I got pregnant and I've not thrown up at all. Just a hunch I guess so will be interesting to find out. We weren't going to originally but as it's got closer we've both wanted to know more!

puttingourhoodupdown · 04/03/2017 16:32

Don't worry about not showing. I didn't show until about 18/19 weeks with DD and even by my due date my bump was neat and petite. Already showing this time!

I'm thinking girl again this time.

Had a date through for my 20week scan which I thought was very prompt given my 12 week scan was on Thursday, it's 2 May.

calimommy · 04/03/2017 18:28

Yes star I agree with others! With your first you really don't show until 20-24weeks! And frankly my 'bump' is not a bump, it's extra weight, bloat and loosened muscles.

TotTickle · 04/03/2017 18:34

Just catching up with all the great news. I'm 11+5 today and nausea has just hit yesterday and today - feel awful. Is this likely to be baby or a bug or a side effect of being really tired? Nothing had helped subside it x

lilyborderterrier · 04/03/2017 21:50

14 weeks today finally starting to try to enjoy this 2nd pregnancy. I've started telling people and am trying to stay positive. I have a huge 6 month bump as I have a fibroid the size of a melon at the top of my uterus 😱 it was discovered and the 1st scan. I've been warned I'm high risk and will be expected to have an early cesarian due to its size. I've got stack loads of prescribed codeine from the consultant if the pain is too bad and extra scans booked in.
It's a whirlwind to take in and not what we want but there's nothing I can do. So I'm being positive and trying to stay happy. Hearing my 4 year old so excited about the baby is wonderful. On the plus side I've no other symptoms that are bothering me !!

Kskifred · 04/03/2017 22:04

Oh Lily sounds scary but you have the right mindset, fingers crossed it remains manageable for you.

My sciatica has really kicked in this week, today I can barely walk Sad hoping this isn't a sign of things to come and get worse. I did have it last time but not until later on.

I wouldn't worry I didn't show til about 16 weeks with 1st and think that is even considered the early end so try not to worry and enjoy the comfortableness of less symptoms Smile

Kskifred · 04/03/2017 22:07

I can't wait to feel the kicking - I felt the first kick at exactly 16 weeks at the midwife app with DS, she was checking the heartbeat, baby did a bit kick/turn and she said 'oh you probably felt that' and it was the weirdest, best feeling Grin only a few more weeks.

calimommy · 04/03/2017 23:37

lily wow that's hard for you! I certainly hope it doesn't get too unbearable as you get bigger. Do they think I might grow outwards if it's at the top? As in, eventually be outside your rib cage so you don't have so much pressure?

I felt flutters earlier but kicking was: DS1 @ 18 weeks and DS2 @ 15 weeks, but obviously it didn't get consistent till later. I can't remember when the flutters started. Really looking forward to feeling baby, I love the movements x

Fluffywallow · 05/03/2017 06:45

Star it can depend on so so much - height weight, stomach muscles. Don't worry, you'll have a bump soon enough! Mines actually slightly less than it was now bloating has reduced.

Lily hope you're ok, sounds stressful and painful. At least you are getting the extra monitoring needed.

I'm struggling to control my emotions at the moment and think I'm taking it out on dh which is not good. I'm feeling so highly strung it's exhausting. Need to chill out but can't!

OkyDoke · 05/03/2017 08:02

Sorry for having disappeared for a few days. Exhausted again and i dont think i slept a wink last night. 16 week midwife appointment this week which is somewhat of a milestone :)

SpringSpringSpring · 05/03/2017 08:59

Got my 12 week scan results back & they were low risk which feels great.

Those of you with 16 week check ups coming up, did you just get a letter or did you have to book it yourself? I have the 20 week already set up but haven't heard from the mw since the first meeting.

StarWish1 · 05/03/2017 09:15

Morning all Smile
Spring I was told at my booking in appointment with my midwife at the hospital (around 10 weeks) that my 16 week appointment would be with my local midwife at my GP surgery. She said that I would have to contact my GP surgery to make the appointment myself (Which I did). I'm not sure if this is how it works all over the country but it might be worth calling your gp / midwife?

oliversmummy26 · 05/03/2017 09:25

spring I have to make all my midwife appointments myself here so may be the same for you? Probably best to call surgery tomorrow to check so you don't miss out?

13 weeks exactly today, still exhausted, suffering with nausea and breathlessness too...but happy that our bean is growing.. tummy feels huge but mainly fat and bloat and wind.

Could t decide if I felt flutters last night, was giving tummy a little push and thought I could feel something, but also could well have been wind!

Kskifred · 05/03/2017 09:33

My midwife said that we have to book our own appointments in, although my drs receptionist refused to book an app for me with with mw before saying it was nothing to do with them, so anticipate that will be fun.

SpringSpringSpring · 05/03/2017 10:12

That's so helpful, thanks guys! I'll call tomorrow. Congrats on the lovely bumps too Smile Mine is very neat in the morning and then just bloated by evening.

OkyDoke · 05/03/2017 12:40

Mine text me a week or two after booking in with a time and date for 16 week appointment and well that was it really!

Fluffywallow · 05/03/2017 18:36

My mw booked my 16 week appt at my booking appt...pre-natal care in this area is reasonably efficient, just goes to pot when you get to the birth part!

Been out all day today at a big birthday do and wore a tight 'bump showing' top. Half felt like a complete fraud and half felt relief at just letting it be obvious. If people thought it was just gut then they were wrong ish

So utterly exhausted now!

Pinkbottletop · 05/03/2017 19:23

I got a 16 week appointment with my midwife. Didn't get the letter but when I went to redo some bloods the midwife told me about my appointment then.

12 week scan tomorrow! So excited and scared.

Hope you're ok Lily sounds horrifying

Pinkbottletop · 05/03/2017 19:24

Also anyone know if my OH can record the scan on our personal camera? They said no for an early scan but not sure if they're as harsh with an ultrasound

lilyborderterrier · 05/03/2017 21:28

Thanks everyone I'm fine trying to stay positive and focus on the good things and the fact that I'm actually pregnant as fibroids can affect fertility.

Take care ladies x

TotTickle · 05/03/2017 21:31

I think I'm feeling comfortable to move over to the fb group now if you'll have me? X
