I second ASOS for maternity - i loved them for last pregnancy too!

n0ne · 01/03/2017 19:53

We really didn't care what DC1 was (and we didn't find out either) but as she was a girl I'd slightly prefer a boy this time. Also because I'm desperate to name them after my dear departed dad and can't abide any of the feminine versions of his name, so it'd just be easier! But if this one is another girl, that's very fine too Grin

We're not finding out again, anyway.

MrsY87 · 01/03/2017 19:58

I loved ASOS and topshop when I was pregnant with DD, also found new look good for bits and pieces. I need to be quite smart for work so I bought myself a dress in the Isabella Oliver sale at the weekend and they sent me a 15% off voucher with it so now I'm tempted to buy a couple more things...Expensive but really lovely quality! Worth checking out if you need to be smart for work too.

I didn't really have a preference last time but was thrilled DD was a girl as I'd always wanted a girl, I suppose I'd like a boy this time as it would be lovely to have one of each but then a sister for DD would be lovely too. Only another 27 weeks to wait to find out! Is anyone else not finding out?

Kskifred · 01/03/2017 20:17

We probably won't find out again this time

EssentialHummus · 01/03/2017 20:18

argon it's her first great-grandchild so she is ecstatic! My aunt (her daughter) just phoned me to say that she's already got all her old knitting patterns out for little jumpers, bless her.

Gingerbreadmam · 01/03/2017 20:54

thank you. scan was fine but baby curled up so have to go back for screening a week on monday so long

now thrown us into the dilemma of telling people or not. its difficult to hide tbh because i am showing and i really dont think i can hide for another 3 weeks roughly.

i loved asos for maternity stuff too. i quite liked mamlicious stuff as well. next have a range too. i found h&m sizes were tiny.

oliversmummy26 · 02/03/2017 09:20

ginger that's ages to wait to go back, did they change your dates and push you back a way?

We're having a family get together on 19th for my dad's 70th birthday, so I'm tempted to try and wait to tell them until then as it will mean all my immediate family are together in one place which doesn't happen very often...just a bit wary of stealing Dad's thunder a bit, though I don't think he'll mind..

Need to let my sister know soon as she's getting married in August and wants me to be a bridesmaid...I know she's started looking at dresses for us already and suspect I will have to point here in the direction of Seraphine...either that, or let her know that I completely understand if she doesn't want an 8 month pregnant bridesmaid! (Which to be honest I wouldn't mind, it's going to be boiling and I'll be all hot and uncomfortable and not really be up to the duties!)

Gingerbreadmam · 02/03/2017 10:39

no kept my dates the same even tho measures differently but thay was due to.baby curled up so im 11+6 and will be 13+3 at rescan. couldnt get me in any sooner.

ive got about 8 scans with feotal medicine too because of my stillborn and first one with them is likely to be the same week too!

calimommy · 02/03/2017 15:27

ginger I'd go ahead and tell people, you saw a baby and he heart rate was fine, it was obviously curled up as opposed to being small.
I had the same issue in that I had a scan around 9 weeks and all was well but then wasn't due another till nearly 14 but for peace of mind I wanted to know the heart was still beating before I announced at 12 so I had a private scan that day. Then I told the world! X

Gingerbreadmam · 02/03/2017 15:37

they didnt mention the heart rate (and i am completely paranoid) but i guess if they spotted a problem they would have to tell me?

not going to tell work yet or do a big announcement but will tell close family and friends as and when we see them dont have much choicr anyway the size of me

thank you for the advice.

calimommy · 02/03/2017 16:10

ginger I know exactly what you mean! I feel like a fraud looking like this as I'm just 13 weeks. It's ridiculous. Uterus is no where near it 🙄 and this is 8 in the morning when I should be flatter. Ugh. If we had lived near family we would have had to tell much earlier than we did. But unless you can see my outline like in the photo I just look fat. 👍fun times

Got my down's results in the post this afternoon, low risk, so very relieved! Going to chat with DH tonight, but after that we're free to tell people now...I feel a bit nervous about it now after being desperate to tell people for weeks!

MrsK8541 · 02/03/2017 17:14

Hi lovely ladies. olivers so pleased you are low risk, another weight lifted!

Had my scan today. They were running over an hour late and then the wait for blood tests was another 40 minutes!! Must have been there for at least 3 hours. Baby was looking lovely and the NT measurement was 1.3mm so I'm hoping that I'll be low risk but obviously will wait until the combined screening comes back until I can relax!

Gingerbreadmam · 02/03/2017 17:18

great news olivers and mrsk

cali im very similar but fat as well which i tjought.would disguise it but seems to have made it worse.

Fluffywallow · 02/03/2017 17:19

Lots of lovely news - so nice to see Smile

Cali I totally agree, I feel like a fraud with my massive bump at 13 weeks. Dreading someone asking how far along I am Confused. If it's any consolation I think your bump looks lovely.

Almost a week now since scan and no phone call as yet, I remember last time I had to chase as they never even sent a letter so preparing to do that again this time! Can't believe we have our gender scan at end of this month....eeeek! (Booked a private one with baby bond)

Gingerbreadmam · 02/03/2017 17:25

Amz26 · 02/03/2017 17:45

Hi ladies, I'm glad you're all doing well and there's some lovely scan photo and bump pictures ❤

I also got my test results back today for the downs test and it said low risk too! On another note I got my bloods results back for the antibodies test and I have antibody M in my blood.. I'm not really sure what this means but I'm going to be consultant lead now..I have my first appointment with them in April.
Feels like I have to wait forever to see what the plan is from here.
I'm also going to book an early scan too fluffy just not sure when that will be 😊

Gingerbreadmam · 02/03/2017 17:47

ahh looks like im in good bump company. dont feel so bad now Grin

Gingerbreadmam · 02/03/2017 17:48

congrats on the screening amz good that they have picked up on the antibodies and getting appointments in.

Kskifred · 02/03/2017 17:53

I still haven't been sent my scan letter in the post yet, my scan was on Monday! If I hadn't have chased and got a call last week i would have missed it Hmm

Kskifred · 02/03/2017 17:53

Not holding out too much hope for screening results to get to me either

sugarplumfairy2010 · 02/03/2017 18:17

Heres my bump pic at 13 weeks its getting harder to hide. Had my scan a week ago and haven't heard anything yet so hopefully thats good news.x
