Please someone tell me they have (or have had with previous pregnancies) REALLY REALLY ITCHY LEGS, in particular at night or in evening!

Obviously I googled it and obviously I am going to die the baby has a triple risk of being born stillborn Confused. Bloods were all fine, no call back from midwife and would have heard by now if something was amiss.

Gingerbreadmam · 27/02/2017 21:15

not be but people i know lilly and di think its your skin stretching.

WhiteLily86 · 27/02/2017 21:20

Gingerbreadmam I wonder if I am getting taller? Haha!

I can understand if around my core etc, but my legs and ankles??

Travelgeek · 27/02/2017 21:29

I think I'm more itchy generally whitelily, legs, arms, not necessarily growing bump area. I think my skin is just a bit more sensitive than usual so anything sets it off - post-shaving my legs was terrible all day! But it was quite sensitive beforehand too.

Kskifred · 27/02/2017 21:40

Yes sherbert i had multiple biopsies and lletz treatment about 6 months before conceiving my last child, I was worried about it but consultant at time was not concerned, I went on to carry over term to 13 days overdue and a completely natural birth, i dilated very fast once in active labour but i don't think you could put that down to treatment, only a plus on my book that it would go fast anyway!

Kskifred · 27/02/2017 22:04

also based on nub theory what are you guys thinking? bit of fun!

Thanks for the support everyone. I think because he told me how he was with his other child, I've expected the same treatment. But before he didn't have another child to focus on and a drama filled relationship with an ex. So different situation this time I suppose.

Lily my midwife told me that any crazy itching should be reported, so maybe ring your midwife tomorrow?

WhatwouldRuthdo · 28/02/2017 06:54

Whitelily I was really itchy all over, including soles of my feet, hands etc. Horrible. It's just easing off now at 14 weeks. I don't remember but my DH says I was the same with previous pregnancy. I think it's mainly a worrying sign and linked to liver if later on in pregnancy. Hope it lets up soon!

WhiteLily86 · 28/02/2017 09:06

Thanks all, have called the midwife this morning and hopefully get a call back before I go crazy.

These scan pics coming through are great, so happy everyone is getting on so well Smile

totallyLosingIt · 28/02/2017 11:57

I have stalked you on Facebook calimommy and sent you a PM. I hope you don't mind! Thought I had better post on here to show I really am who I say I am (totallyLosingIt).

Katurah · 28/02/2017 16:10

12 week scan today and am measuring 13 weeks so that's exciting! Nuchal fold was 2.4mm which is the same as DS1 so reasonably happy with that! Everything else measured spot on. Was told off for not having a full enough bladder despite nearly wetting myself! Have started to tell people, hoping screening results are okay!

totallyLosingIt · 28/02/2017 17:06

I asked about the full bladder thing at my scan (the letter I had said that you didn't need to drink anything in advance of your scan), and the lady said that they have realised it doesn't actually make a difference except in some more unusual cases (protracted uterus) when it would be beneficial to have just a bit of urine in the bladder. She said that the stress of trying to get people to come in with a bursting bladder wasn't worth the amount of difference it made to the scan, or something along those lines!

turtletum · 28/02/2017 17:54

So lovely to see all the scan pictures. I'm getting impatient for my scan but it's 2 weeks away yet. I'm 10+2 and had booking apt today. Didn't get to meet my mw but a different mw covered. She was friendly and gave lots of info but wasn't successful getting bloods, I was a bit cold so veins hiding and kept collapsing. I have to go to hospital lab for bloods this week. I've also got to do fasting bloods as I am susceptible to thrush, which can be linked to diabetes? I didn't know that! I hate having bloods taken.Sad Did any of you tell work before 12 weeks? I'll need so much time off for bloods and scans over next couple of weeks it'll be tricky to hide.

Fluffywallow · 28/02/2017 18:19

Turtle I told work early due to sickness and haven't regretted it at all - they adjusted my hours, understood when I've not been 'with it' and I've not had to hide my bump Smile If you feel it'd be easier to say something than constantly make excuses then do it!

Gingerbreadmam · 28/02/2017 18:44

if where i think is the nub is right on yours ks im saying girl Smile

newbie87 · 28/02/2017 19:31

Had my scan today, all looking good! baby was being very lazy so took ages to get all the measurements, but all fine in the end! They said my bladder was too full and i had to go do a wee!! Also my bloods were a nightmare, midwife managed to squirt my blood all over the place and down my arm... not good when you are squeemish of blood and needles.... Confused Dates were spot on 11+5 today and due date still 15 september

newbie87 · 28/02/2017 19:33

Not the best pic i'm afraid... how do these nub theories work?! I am desperate to find out if its a girl or boy!! x

sherbertlemon17 · 28/02/2017 19:50

Thanks for your advice Kep & Ksk, that's really put my mind at ease! I actually had a biopsy done when I was pregnant with DD and my labour and cervix were fine... the appointment for the colposcopy was the reason I did a HPT Blush I'm sure you can guess my surprise when it came back positive!!

I assumed that the treatment would have a bigger effect then the biopsy. Hopefully it will be fine this time too.

MrsK8541 · 28/02/2017 20:00

turtle I told work at 6 weeks because of sickness. I was off 4 weeks but they have adjusted my hours I need to be at school. My kids know too and encourage me to sit down to teach them! They even offered me chocolate 'for my hormones'!!!

I'm not liking these stories of blood tests! I'm petrified for my bloods on Thursday. I don't mind needles as I have accupuncture but the removal of blood from the body just icks me out a bit!!

newbie87 · 28/02/2017 20:32

MrsK8541 sorry if i scared u with the blood, it wasnt all as bad as it sounds, ended up more comical in the end!! I'm sure you will be just fine xx

Thanks Ginger! I was thinking girl too Smile

Kskifred · 28/02/2017 20:37

Ooh this is fun!

newbie and argon I would guess both boys although I'm no pro! Been reading up on in-gender.com which is quite interesting, the genitals look identical at the stage!

Kskifred · 28/02/2017 20:39

actually the more i look at newbie it could be girl, that's not much help is it! argon i'm still sticking with boy Grin

Travelgeek · 28/02/2017 20:41

If it puts your mins at rest at all MrsK I had bloods taken at both my booking apt and 12 week scan apt and both we straightforward. Success first time, no bruise after. I guess it depends how forthcoming your veins are and the skill of the midwife. You may be lucky too.

I told my line manager a good few wweks ago turtle and she's been great which has. Was rrally helpful as I am on assignment and its a promotion and I really havent been at my best and I've had appointments and a couple of days off sick here and there. If I don't hear back from the midwife by Friday I'll assume low risk on the screening as they said, so then I'll let her know I don't mind others knowing and I guess we'll tell the rest of the team and HR.

Today I bought maternity jeans. Quite excited to make a proper baby-related purchase and hoping they will be comfy! Ordered from H&M online in my lunch break so hope they fit when they arrive!
