Maybe hormones surge around 10/11 weeks making sickness worse. I've just had my flu jab and feel less sick now, so think my nausea this morning was me being wimpy and scared for the injection (which didn't hurt in the slightest)!

Travelgeek · 21/02/2017 10:45

After thinking last week things were improving symptom-wise I've gone from all day nausea to all day nausea plus actual vomiting since turning 11 weeks on Saturday. Sleeping worse too, lots of getting up in the night to wee and quench thirst. Getting fed up of it now. The house is a mess and I haven't the energy to sort it after a day at work.

That wasn't particularly helpful of her telling you that alice. Did she say it in a way that sounde like she was trying to reassure you? I'm sure they see loads of women in a week. And they do say symptoms subside as the placenta takes over.

WarwickAlice · 21/02/2017 11:40

Travelgeek I think she meant to reassure me, but she didn't give me enough information to assess the risk for myself, and now my brain is constantly whirring over it :(

As you say, symptoms apparently subside when the placenta takes over, and I had a scan at 9.5 weeks and the sonographer said that what she could see of the placenta looked healthy, so I'm probably worrying over nothing. In any case, I will know tomorrow! xx

MoominMama22 · 21/02/2017 13:08

alice I agree it was quite unhelpful thing to say. I think it's a fine line between being prepared for all eventualities and not being told things that are going to send you into panic! I'm caught between being excited and trying to not let myself get too excited at the moment, it's tricky and I'm not sure whats right!
Moan alert, why has my toddler, who up til now napped beautifully, decided that in the last few weeks when I'm sick and need to actually have a nap myself or at least rest, that she is going to throw a massive tantrum at each nap time and bed time?? I'm exhausted and need a plan of action!

Currently at the top of the stairs weakly shush ing as she flings books around and is doing big angry grunty screams. I think if she could scream "I hate you" it's what she would be screaming. Fml

Hi everyone, sorry to hear some of you are still suffering. I had my 12wk scan yesterday, little fig was waving and kicking like mad - so surreal! Beforehand I'd convinced myself that they were going to say it had died somewhere between the 7wk scan and now, and honestly I can't tell anyone with the same concerns to just forget about it and be happy. It's really hard and stressful, you just have to trust that you are doing your best and you'll find out at the scan. Yes the chances are everything is fine, but really you just have to try to wait it out. Feeling for you all still waiting, chin up!!

Really great news, FX, and what a beautiful picture! Very pleased for you. It's reassuring to hear you had the same concerns as me - I'm convinced the baby will have died since my scan at 9 weeks - I have my 12 week scan tomorrow and I really can't wait! xxx

oliversmummy26 · 21/02/2017 14:14

FX lovely scan pic and so pleased baby is well and healthy Smile

Alice I was feeling exactly the same, I've had a scan at 8+2, 9+5 & 11+2 and every time I was convinced that I would be given bad news, but baby was fine and dandy in there! I know there are all the stats which tell you that once you've seen a heartbeat the likelyhood of a miscarriage reduces dramatically, but that doesn't stop us as mummies from worrying..

I have my 12 week scan next Monday and eventhough it will only be 8 days since my last scan I'm still worried. I'm desperate to start telling people but we're going to wait until the results of the screening tests, so am now convinced that there will be a problem with those and we'll get bad news!

FXSkip · 21/02/2017 14:40

warwick not long to go at all! I really hope it's all working out for you, there is no reason to suspect otherwise so try to just put it out of your mind - I was hyperventilating in the car mind you so I'm not exactly a good example!!

Wow oliversmummy that's a lot of scans - are you being closely monitored for a reason? (sorry I haven't really been keeping up with this thread!)

oliversmummy26 · 21/02/2017 14:41

Also Travel I could have written your post, house is a mess, I have no energy or inclination to do anything and DS is lucky if he has clean uniform in the mornings! DH works away during the week, fortunately DS has school dinners, so I can give him dippy eggs/beans on toast for tea and not feel too bad, but it's so exhausting! When DH is home he's amazing, but I can tell he's getting fed up now too, which is fair enough as I've about had enough of this now!

Can't wait for 2nd trimester and desperately hoping these symptoms subside then and I get the lovely pregnancy glow and clear skin and glossy hair!

oliversmummy26 · 21/02/2017 14:43

FX I've had two private scans and one at EPU. First was because we wanted to check dates (got my BFP 5 weeks after MC so had no LMP to go on), NHS wouldn't offer an early scan. 2nd scan was because I'd been having brown and pink discharge so GP referred me to EPU. Most recent was private on a Sunday because I had a big bleed and panicked. No one at EPU at the weekends, and was in such a state DH just bundled me in the car and off we went!

Kskifred · 21/02/2017 14:53

Just had my booking in appointment so feel like the ball is finally rolling now. I feel like i should be 6 months gone though, mw said 'obviously you are still in the early stages' and although i know she is right i felt like saying it's been ages! I've known for 2 months so definitely feels like you should be much further along!

Scan on 27th when I will be 11+4, exciting!

If it wasn't for the nausea, indigestion and heartburn that ramped up at 10 weeks everything would be great.

FXSkip · 21/02/2017 15:05

Aww k I hate having the booking in appt before the scan, it made me so excited with my first pregnancy then at the scan it all came tumbling down. I was convinced it would be the same this time. Not long to go now though, you'll be counting down the days I'm sure!

oliversmummy Yeouch I'm not surprised you've had a few privates - that must have been really scary. Glad everything seems fine though. I can't imagine having a toddler with ms, I want 4 young kids though so either got to suck it up and get back to dtd asap or maybe try to adopt (which I'd love to do)!!

Lules · 21/02/2017 15:12

Nooo don't say it get worse again! I'm just starting to feel more human again at 8/9 weeks, although that might be down to better medication.

Still haven't heard anything about scan or booking in appt. GP told me referral definitely went off. I did a self referral on Monday too so will give it a couple of days then chase.

Kskifred · 21/02/2017 15:21

Everyone is different but mine tailed off around 8 weeks but came back with a vengeance, definitely didn't have this is last pregnancy.

oliversmummy26 · 21/02/2017 15:25

FX I'm so pleased DS is that much older, he'll be 5 by the time this baby comes along, and is always talking about his baby brother or sister (we still haven't even told him yet!) and how he's going to help change nappies and make it laugh and play with it and feed it - he was most disappointed when I said I would be feeding the baby with my boobies!! ha ha!

MoominMama22 · 21/02/2017 15:35

FX lovely lovely scan Smile
lules do chase!! last preg I was completely dropped out of the system, didn't get scan appt and two MW appts I showed up for turned out not to exist in their system. I was very emotional about it- couldn't help but take it personally! Finally got into the system but then had to chase up antenatal class as was missed off that as well! Sad

Pinkbottletop · 21/02/2017 15:47

Sorry about all the morning sickness all.

Having the same 12 week scan fears. But I tried my doppler today and heard a very strong very fast heartbeat. I literally cried and cried. So it's made me feel a lot better now.

Olivers I finally mopped my floors today ha! But put me down for also longing for the second trimester.

oliversmummy26 · 21/02/2017 15:52

Pink what doppler do you have? I had one when I was pregnant with DS (ex-MIL was a midwife so let me borrow hers) and used it in later pregnancy when I hadn't felt much movement every now and then.

I'm amazed you heard the heartbeat so early, that's great, I'm tempted to get one for peace of mind, but worried that not finding a heartbeat would worry me more!

Pinkbottletop · 21/02/2017 16:27

Olivers I have no idea what Doppler it is. My mum bought it for me. I was worried about using it but I went on youtube and saw people using theirs from around this time, so thought I'd give it a go. I don't think I can load videos on here, can I? I cried like a baby when I heard it and then grabbed my phone!

Travelgeek · 21/02/2017 18:19

Definitely looking forward to the 2nd trimester olivers. I have high hopes for it. I hope it lives up to them!

Four, skip?! Four?! Me and DH were just saying the other day how we are amazed anyone has more then one going by things so far. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to have a baby on the way. But this pregnancy malarkey hasn't been much fun so far.

Kskifred · 21/02/2017 18:34

Haha i think your body is wired to forget the lows of pregnancy and childbirth, I had completely forgotten how rubbish being pregnant can be with regards to symptoms and didn't take into account how much harder it would be with another child to consider and look after.

I'm just wishing the sickness etc away when i can start being more active and eating better again!

Frillyhorseyknickers · 21/02/2017 18:50

Morning sickness has ramped up again this week, I'm 10 weeks today and have cancelled all my meetings this week and opted to work from the most local office - no way can I deal with the virgin east coast commute into London this week!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is convinced the 12 week scan is bad news - I hate that I'm playing mind games with myself 😢 I've decided against anything like a Doppler as I will drive myself completely crackers worrying with it.

OkyDoke · 21/02/2017 18:55

Been feeling really shitty today. Had a constant headache, my back is aching and slept so much (off work on annual leave). Huband is out now snd i know i should eat but i dont have the energy. Want to go to my mums and let her look after me lol. Boo!

Travelgeek · 21/02/2017 19:40

Aw, plain buttered white toast to you all feeling yukky (as opposed to tea or wine as would be usual!). At least, that's what has been getting me through today. That and satsumas. Can't get enough of them!
