ColdFeet I hope today is a better day for you and your husband realises the error of his ways! Because I haven't been sick at all, and have the 3 year old to deal with, mine expects me to carry on as normal too. Which mostly is fine, but some days are tiring! I just keep using the phrase 'I'm growing a placenta!' if I need a rest!

Travelgeek · 15/02/2017 09:19

Just catching up with you all! Great scan pics dixie and oky! Amazing how much development there's been at 12 weeks to early scans. My 9+2 scan was a blob with a heartbeat. I'm looking forward to the 27th now.

Oh dear coldfeet, that's rubbish. I hope he starts to appreciate you won't always be able to go full speed now. Do men 'get it' more once we get proper bumps?

That said, mine was a sweetheart yesterday after I had a major hormonal meltdown with puffy faced crying and everything. I got all upset over nothing. Very ready for the placenta to take over a bit and let my hormones settle.

Kskifred · 15/02/2017 09:30

I can't seem to stop eating bread, I'm eating stupid amounts and it's not helping with the constipation! Ergh roll on feeling normal and normal diet.

Post has just come, still no letter for scan or booking in app...I'm 10 weeks tomo, would you all be chasing up by now?

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 15/02/2017 09:38

If he hasn't realised the error of his ways yet I'll be having a chat with him later. I didn't want to get into a full blown row / hysterical mess with him last night as my sister was here.
I don't think he realises how tough it is at this stage. He says things like it's only the size of a raspberry. Even though he's seen me feeling really nauseous and tired I don't think he'll truly understand until I have a breakdown.
I wish there was a pregnancy simulator for men. Then they might be a little more thoughtful about cooking smelly food etc.

Still. 8 + 4 today. I can't wait for my 12 week scan. Don't even have appointment through yet. Even though we haven't told her yet, our 4yr old DD knows something has been going on. She's been going on about a baby brother or sister since just before Christmas and asks me on a nearly daily basis if the baby is in my tummy yet or if she can listen to the heartbeat!!

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 15/02/2017 09:40

I would chase ksk - my midwife told me they like to book in at 8 weeks ideally. I'm not seeing mine till 11 weeks but at least I'm booked in. Do you have a number for the midwifery team?

Travelgeek · 15/02/2017 09:45

I chased mine ksk. You go and see the gp for a referral around here so a couple of weeks after that when I still hadn't got an appointment I called the gp surgery to check my referral letter had gone off, it had, and asked for the number to call to chase. When I spoke to the antenatal team they said they hadn't recieved the referral letter from my gp and just took my details over the phone instead. Got my appointment about a week later in the post, for 10 weeks. Which is when they aim for here.

Ah coldfeet, thats very sweet of your DD.

kep1979 · 15/02/2017 10:00

I would definitely chase ksk- we have to see the gp too around here and last time they didn't send off the referral. This time they have been much more organised and even booked me to in for a flu jab!

Dixiechick1991 · 15/02/2017 15:15

Anyone else feel hugely uncomfortable. I feel so nauseous and hungry but bloated and stomach aches. It's making me just lay across the sofa all day!

Frillyhorseyknickers · 15/02/2017 16:45

My husband bought me a bottle of fucking champagne for Valentine's Day yesterday...Hmm

I've just come home early from work because I was falling asleep. In my sweats with my hair up ✌🏻✌🏻

Kskifred · 15/02/2017 17:18

Lol Frilly they don't have a clue do they!

My nearly 3yo has swallowed a hungry hippo this afternoon (on dp's watch) so i'm not sure how well my sickness will cope with being on 'poo watch' the next few days Hmm

Kskifred · 15/02/2017 17:19

hungry hippo ball* a whole hungry hippo would have been pretty impressive!

Pinkbottletop · 15/02/2017 17:26

LOL frilly I swear they are so clueless.

Ksk definitely chase. I've heard examples where they didn't receive the form.

Had my booking in appointment yesterday. Did anyone else get their MAT1 form? I didn't. Can my GP give me one? My 12 week scan is on the 6th March, to which I will be exactly 12 weeks. Can't wait because my 9+4 scan was literally a blob with a heartbeat too!

Dixie I'm commuting 4 days a week (working from home 1) and the bloat is ridiculous. I'm sat at my desk at work now hoping my baggy jumper is hiding my huge stomach. It feels horribly tight so I feel your pain.

Pinkbottletop · 15/02/2017 17:27

*7+4 scan not 9. I'm 9 weeks 3 days today.

Dixiechick1991 · 15/02/2017 17:29

Ugh pink luckily it's half term so I'm off work.
Getting a train tomorrow for 2 hours tomorrow not looking forward to it!!
I just can't stop eating & then by about 5/6pm the hunger goes up a notch but the stretching pain lessens.
I really don't know how I'll be back at work next week as I had a student teacher last term so I was on a reduced teaching timetable!

Dixiechick1991 · 15/02/2017 17:30

Sorry pressed send early.
I hope the baggy jumpers are doing their jobs. I think I need to buy some more leggings and loose fit longline tops for work cause my trousers are all so uncomfortable!

WhatwouldRuthdo · 15/02/2017 17:36

pink you won't get your Mat B1 form until you are 20 weeks. At least that's how it was last time I did this. Got the prescription exemption form at booking in though. And yes, yes to the bloating. In the morning I look like I've just over eaten a bit. By evening I'm about 6 months gone.

Lules · 15/02/2017 17:37

pink you need to be careful about getting your form too early as then it's not valid. It has to be a certain number of weeks before your due date. I got mine at 16ish weeks last time but it was too early and HR made me get another one when they realised when I was about 36 weeks.

EdenX · 15/02/2017 17:40

About 10 weeks now and still feeling so sick - this has been by far my worst pregnancy for sickness.

Has anyone else been exposed to slapped cheek/parvo virus? I'm a nursery teacher and loads of my class have had it - I've had to have an extra blood test as a result. Trying not to google too much but the NHS pages make it seem quite serious.

user1487181795 · 15/02/2017 18:08

Hi All, currently 11 weeks, 12 weeks scan not until 12+6 so to try and ease my anxiety am booked in for a private scan on Friday.... getting really nervous! On half term at the moment. It have been wishing the week away waiting for Friday morning to be here for some reassurance that everything is okay! Such a worrier!

Dixiechick1991 · 15/02/2017 18:13

Anyone else bloated bellies getting hard to hide!?
I'm so uncomfortable in all my clothes but I know it's def just bloat and not baby as I'm only 11+3

EssentialHummus · 15/02/2017 18:31

Same here dixie - it's effecting my sleep since I can't really lay comfortably on my side without feeling my belly is flopping over Confused.

EssentialHummus · 15/02/2017 18:31

*affecting

n0ne · 15/02/2017 18:43

So had me (2nd) dating scan today and I've moved up a day so final due date now 07/09. Was mad to see how baby-shaped it was already! At my last scan it was just a blob with a heartbeat. And a big relief that everything looked good, heart rate of 158. I'm now past the stage I was when I had my 2 mc's, which feels great. Next hurdle is combination test which needs to happen in a week or so. Does it work the same in the UK? Measuring the nuchal fold and doing bloods at 12w?

I finally didn't feel so sick today after actually throwing up for the first time yesterday. Still have an almost constant headache/hangover-type feeling, but as long as I'm not feeling sick, I'll take it!

n0ne · 15/02/2017 18:46

Oh, and here's the clearest pic Grin

Hi n0ne yes the Nuchal tests work like that here... I had my bloods taken this week at 10+5 - think they have to be done at least 3 working days before, then when I go for the 12 week scan she said I can expect to be given the results there and then after they have done the Nuchal fold measurements. My due date is 6/9, the day before you! How exciting! Got my first scan on Friday so scared but excited! X
