Mrsjw definitely go for promotion, I had to give myself a stern talking to to submit my promotion case in November which was before I'd told anyone at work, I had to keep reminding myself it was for the work I'd already done, not what I was going to do over the next year. Your pregnancy shouldn't affect their decision and if it's something you're interested in, go for it. A month before is aaaaggggeeeeessss before baby turns up GrinGrin

1004Rise · 15/02/2017 18:13

Spam I found the liquid gaviscon more effective but that might just have been because I couldn't take the chalky tablets anymore, though they are much better for sticking in your bag....

Barnes79 · 15/02/2017 18:45

Peach - I'm currently hurting myself left right and centre too without feeling it at the time. I hurt my arm yesterday at work doing something which would normally not hurt me, hurt my leg Monday night whilst trying to avoid pelvic pain and I think I've pulled a stomach muscle this afternoon moving a patients leg! I had a sharp pain when I stretched and then stitch like pain walking to the car. I've also found my knee is tender near one of my ligaments. I think it's all the relaxin hormones just making us more at risk... (and perhaps I need to start being more careful Blush).

PeachIcedT · 15/02/2017 18:56

I think you're right there Barnes and I totally get the getting one injury to avoid another thing!

Oh prenatal massage and 90 minutes of it sounds blissful! I hope you enjoy every minute rasperry! I've had one (of three so I've been toldConfused) back massage from DH so far this evening but my do I miss the days of being able to lie down to have it! That and generally I miss losing on my front. Haha should invest in one of those tables with a cut out for the bump Smile

Sipperskipper · 15/02/2017 19:11

Had 28w appt with midwife today. Measuring fine and always nice to hear heartbeat. Am quite anaemic though which explains my tiredness over last couple of weeks! Going to take some iron tablets. GTT results were fine.

Going to the mothercare event on 22nd with my mum, really looking forward to it. DH & I have already been & tried out pram and car seat etc, but the assistant advised it was 10% off everything at the event so to come back & buy it then. It definately seems worth going, but if anyone is interested, you have to book in advance online.

1004Rise · 15/02/2017 19:57

Sipper that's good to know about 10% off at mothercare, we're booked to go next week too. We have John Lewis appointment at the weekend and I think that will confirm our pram and car seat thinking. I have seen the pram we want at £100 cheaper on eBay for a brand new one but if there's 10% off that's the best part of £100 anyway and I think I'd feel safer ordering it from Mothercare.

Been inspired to try and find someone to do a prenatal massage but no luck so far.... Hmm

RasperryInAMelon · 15/02/2017 20:21

My god that was incredible and so nice to be able to lie on my tummy with the cut out sections for bump! Smile

I have another booked for the end of April on our last weekend away before the arrival!

Rise where are you based?

If you sign up to Emma's diary website, they just sent out a code to get two free tickets to a baby show in Surrey! I really wanted to go to a show in London but am busy the weekend it's on so am hoping this one is good!?

Tickyboovicki · 15/02/2017 20:38

I got the tickets to the Surrey one as well! And not too far from my due date so will hopefully know what I have left to get by then!

astormgivenflesh · 15/02/2017 20:40

Tickyboovicki im due end of May so am hoping to pick up a nice pram and maybe some other bits! My mum seems to have bought everything in the world for baby already so not much left Confused

Barnes79 · 15/02/2017 20:41

Anyone had lower abdo pains? I have bad stitch-like feelings earlier walking from work to my car, but am now getting occasional sharpish lower central abdo pains even lying down. No other worrying symptoms (so far). Anyone any ideas?

1004Rise · 15/02/2017 20:45

Rasperry in the north of Scotland.... I could probably find somewhere in Inverness but the 45 minute drive there and back would probably take away the benefit!! Confused sent out emails to various companies to see if any of them can do it but just don't advertise so fingers crossed!

Glad you enjoyed yours, good to have some relaxing time Wink

WishIWasSleeping · 15/02/2017 21:35

Never noticed the blue light on my gro-egg having an adverse effect on my little one and we currently keep it on the edge of her cot... she sleeps better when the temp is a bit cooler just with blankets on top of the sleeping bag thing too.
We also have (so far) found that she doesn't at all try to climb out of her cot. Maybe it's because she is in sleeping bags (or gro-bags or whatever the other makes are called!) as apparently I was tipping myself over the edge of mine at 10m! Shock
Just trying to fight my baby brain to pack our weekend away bags... I'm sure there's already something I've forgotten! Confused

EsmesBees · 15/02/2017 21:35

I've had similar pains Barnes. Normally after lots of rushing around.

Autumnsweater · 15/02/2017 21:39

Rise I've heard that the baby limits itself to the size of the mother too, but the Shire/Shetland pony analogy is false unfortunately, at least in dogs - I've done a few Caesareans in small breed bitches that were accidentally mated with large breed dogs and have just had one HUGE pup. Don't know how relevant that it is to humans though Grin.

Adventuregame · 15/02/2017 21:43

Where in Surrey is the baby show ?

astormgivenflesh · 15/02/2017 21:48

It's st Sandown park - no idea where that is as I live in Herts but sure we'll find it with the sat nav!

growcookeat · 15/02/2017 22:04

Glad you're feeling relaxed raspberry.

I'm booked in on Friday for a prenatal massage at our hotel in Edinburgh - can't wait to be pampered. Off on the early train tomorrow morning so may not check in for a while. Knowing you chatty bunch, I'm sure I'll have pages to read when I do!

Have a good week/weekend everyone!

MrsJW15 · 15/02/2017 22:06

Raspberry I'm so jealous!

Rise, Sipper we are also going to the Mothercare event next week. Planning to do a research shopping trip this weekend but then hold off until the event to actually buy anything.

Rise, Rustler I'm definitely applying. But having an interview so close to the start of mat leave sis a bit scary! It's a job that they've advertised externally and there could be some pretty tough competition.

Rustler74 · 15/02/2017 22:10

Storm I'm in Herts too! And so is Badgerbird.
Logged into Emma's diary but not seen any free tickets?

1004Rise · 15/02/2017 22:21

Autumn you realise I'm now trying to get the image of a Great Dane/Jack Russell pairing out my head Hmm Grin

Badgerbird · 15/02/2017 22:33

Hello slw!

Wow rustler that is a very sunny prospect! Glad work went ok :)

Oooooh rasberry that sounds amazing! Hopefully helped after all that stress. I love the idea of a cut out :) I've got a pregnancy massage voucher to use, may have to book in soon.

With regards to odd aches and pains I find that when I do a big yawn everything stretches too much! Even turning over in bed seems to almost pull a tummy muscle Confused

Hello storm, I'm in Herts too :)

Have a great weekend away grow!

astormgivenflesh · 15/02/2017 22:34

Rustler74 - are you?! Where abouts?? I'm St Albans!

This is the email I got earlier this evening - claiming was easy as you just type in the code and then address and it's done! Star

Sah1987 · 15/02/2017 22:35

I have had the most pants day - I ache all over and I hate my job.
It's not even any one thing just people are so impatient. Had someone call customer services at head office because I didn't call them back in 15 minutes when I said it was be before 7pm and I'd call them back. Took 45 minutes to sort out their issue.
Genuinely want to cry, as I'm not going to get sat down around why I have a customer service case against my name :(
On the upside my pram is on offer and was going to pay for it today, but my darling mummy is buying it for us!!

And now I've stopped ranting! Hope everyone's good xx
