Redblu- yes, it makes me really bloody anxious!!! Last week I could feel kicks through top of belly and lots of movement around the sides of my bump; this week I just get dancing on my cervix and can't feel half as much as I did before.
I assume it's my anterior placenta.
It is frustrating because like you said - it's still movement just barely perceptible compared to last week.

1004Rise · 15/02/2017 12:29

What does the baby need to wear in hospital, I'm assuming it'll be roasting so are they ok in the short sleeve vest things then in a blanket?

I did read somewhere that mum's genes have more impact on baby size than the dad's, the comparison they gave was if you bred a Shire horse with a Shetland pony, the Shetland would only grow a baby that was small enough to deliver... I'm not even sure that's possible but I get the logic.

As we have a family of knitters I can see us having a multitude of blankets, we might try swaddling before grow bags.

Savage do their socks not just keep coming off?

Sonnet18 · 15/02/2017 12:36

For those confused by gro-bags...get a gro egg thermometer for your room. It tells you the temperature (obviously!) but it also glows blue if too cold, Amber for fine and red for too hot. Also gives a little instruction on how many layers/ togs are appropriate for each temperature. Very handy!

savagehk · 15/02/2017 12:39

1004 not Trumpette socks :) Looks to be a temporary shortage of them though, will have to buy a box asap!

Otherwise, sock-ons. We bought a pair but never used them in the end (as the Trumpette's didn't fall off)

Sock ons are a marvellous invention.

Rise mine wore a baby grow in hospital, and they told me to put a hat on her. I think they provided the blankets in hospital but can't remember for sure.

WishIWasSleeping · 15/02/2017 13:42

We were told to put a hat on baby in hospital too... vest, babygrow blanket - I ignored the hat advice.. she had loads of hair and it was roasting with no draughts, even though it was January. Plus they get held a lot - so you don't want them to get hot and sweaty! You'll have to go with your instinct a little I feel.

littleem89 · 15/02/2017 13:42

raspberry I definitely recommend going to the doctor for heartburn. They prescribed omeprazole and since I've been taking it the heartburn seems to have completely gone!

1004Rise · 15/02/2017 14:01

Ok so vest, babygrow, hat, blanket and see how it goes ConfusedGrin

Rasperry definitely go to the GP, the ranitidine seems to be working for me but he did say there were other options if it gets worse or stops working since we still have 3 months to go I can see me going back for something else Hmm

Have now googled sock ons and unfortunately also found dribble ons... such a list!!! Grin

RedBlu · 15/02/2017 14:01

Ah that makes me feel better. Like I said, it's still movement just no where near as strong as before and sometimes I think there isn't as much movement but I think it's because it's not that noticeable compared to those three days. It's back to what she was doing before though, so I guess it's still normal.

My midwife said last week that she wouldn't expect me to feel that much movement and what
I did feel wouldn't be that strong (26 weeks) so I would assume as long as there is some movement - all good

savagehk · 15/02/2017 14:04

1004 look at funky giraffe bibs :)

PeachIcedT · 15/02/2017 14:26

I'm certainly noticing days of lots of movements and then periods of relative quiet. It can cause a fair bit of anxiety especially when it's drummed in you need to report change in movement.

I've been suffering this week, completely out of the blue I developed pain around 2 vertebrae in my back (one at the top, one at the bottom) and feel like I bruised the side of my knee. This is without any incident of injury or overuse. I am appreciating DH's back massages a lot!

Getting a bit fed up of how hard it is to slow down at work too, it often doesn't feel like an option and then I make things worse.

I'm getting given some gro bags (every time I write this I think of the things you grow tomatoes in) and will look into the gro egg, thank you for the suggestion.

1004Rise · 15/02/2017 14:27

Oh dear, I may have developed a bib fetish!!!GrinWink

RasperryInAMelon · 15/02/2017 14:54

Sonnet I looked at those gro things but hear that the blue glow is actually really disturbing for babies, it's classed as an active colour.

savage those sock ons look brilliant!

Love funky giraffe bibs. We still use ours 2 years in. Still look practically brand new.

savagehk · 15/02/2017 15:30

Re bibs - top tip - non white ones will wear better!! (rookie mistake there when I bought the first few :) )

vanilla8 · 15/02/2017 17:00

Re Heartburn - I found ranitidine only lasted 6-8 hours, however Omeprazole all day Smile

If you can't get to GP then Superdrug or Poundshop/Poundworld was the cheapest place I found for ranitidine

I'm feeling lots of lower back pain and aches now too, DH no good at massages though!

RasperryInAMelon · 15/02/2017 17:08

I'm going for a 90 minute prenatal massage at 6.30

SO EXCITED!! Grin

Iv only just found this thread Shock just thought I would say hi and I'm due on the 1st yey x

1004Rise · 15/02/2017 17:46

Rasperry sounds bliss, enjoy!!

Welcome slw and congratulations!!

Good tip savage, I guess the same applies for muslins

peasandquiet · 15/02/2017 17:49

Rasberry that sounds amazing, I have one booked for the end of the month and cannot wait. Enjoy it.

Rustler74 · 15/02/2017 18:00

Wow what a speed ladies! I leave you alone for 22 hours and you leave me with a thread that takes half an hour to catch up on. That's diagonal reading !

Re movement, I find that I was feeling slightly less last week, but it just depended on where baby was, in relation to my anterior placenta.

We have a room and water thermometer. I'm hoping to find the right clothing at least for the first few months.

MrsJW I think you should go for the promotion as they are not allowed to discriminate you for your pregnancy. That includes passing someone for a promotion! You're probably exactly what they need and so you really deserve this!

First day back at work today. Not much to do apart from removing a plaster cast and doing my mat leave request! Looked at my annual leave with my manager, which appears to be more to take up than I thought. All in all, I could be without a wage for two weeks only, bearing in mind that I'll be off from end April until end March next year. Quite a sunny prospect Smile

I hope you enjoyed the well deserved massage Raspberry!

Sonnet18 · 15/02/2017 18:01

Haha that'll be why my toddler is so crazy and disturbed then! Just kidding, it rarely went blue in my house as my house is always quite warm. It was kept pretty much out of her sight most of the time anyway but we definitely found it useful at the beginning.
I used omneprazole for heartburn last time-cleared it up super fast. No heartburn yet at 28 weeks so I'm hoping i won't have it this time.
Welcome slw and congrats!

ClaireSunflower · 15/02/2017 18:09

Enjoy your massage raspberry I had a prenatal one a couple of weeks ago and it was lovely.

Spam88 · 15/02/2017 18:10

Oh raspberry I'm very jealous. Enjoy!

My heartburn seems to have stepped it up a gear recently as well. Does anyone know whether the gaviscon liquid is any more effective than the chewable tablets? I only ever use the tablets because they're easy to stick in my bag, and I know the liquid is exactly the same but I sort of think it might be more soothing...?

I have bought almost entirely white stuff for the baby - may regret that! They look so cute in white though 😁
