mrspage I haven't bought the car seat yet, I don't plan on using with the pram as we have bought the carrycot. We have issues with the car at the moment ... 3 car seats! And at present we haven't managed to find a solution other than buy a bigger car. So I'm kind of putting that off! 🙈 We have booked to go to Manchester baby event in march and hoping to get a car seat sorted there. We will probs go for the maxi cosi as I've had maxi cosi for my other 2 and found them great 😀

savage there is a hb group on Facebook that has lots of knowledge and information. If you are on fb. I've never been pushed for induction due to late baby but if I am this time my plan is to be monitored but decline induction unless my placenta shows signs of deterioration. I'm happy to wait it out. So spud could be a June baby.

yellow thank you 😊 I am on the mend now. But I would not recommend pneumonia at 22wks pregnant, working full time and 2 littles and a husband at home. It's been rough. But through the worst now.

I don't see my midwife until 28wks as it's my third pregnancy; feels like forever since I saw her. Although have GTT test next week and anti d booked for the week after and consultant to check my cervix. I wouldn't like to see my kind faced midwife.

beanandturnip · 06/02/2017 19:46

Edit : would like to see my midwife 🙈

MrsJW15 · 06/02/2017 19:50

Wow I've been out all day and you do talk a lot! Another day of a lot of walking and I'm pretty exhausted. Huge thanks to whoever recommended the JoJo belt, it seems to be keeping any spd problems in check.

Tickyboovicki · 06/02/2017 20:13

Welcome to newbies!
Exciting to hear that everyone's getting all organised as well! I am still under strict instruction not to buy anything else so twiddling my thumbs!

Accepted an offer in our house today so now we just need to find somewhere we like, no pressure Grin as if hitting the third trimester wasn't enough stress with work!

mrspage1985 · 06/02/2017 20:19

Thanks for that list Raspberry

Adventuregame · 06/02/2017 20:20

Hi all
We have bought the Bugaboo buffalo pram and are waiting to order the Evo Luna I size car seat.

savagehk · 06/02/2017 20:21

bean I think I'm on it :) for 3 seats across the back worth asking on FB group "Car Seat Advice for Mummies & Daddies!" but they do need to close posting often to work through all the queries so check rules / faq when you join.

beanandturnip · 06/02/2017 20:39

savage thank you I've requested admission to the group 😊

Ticky congrats on the offer! Our house is also on the market and we are hoping for a sale soon so we can be moved before spud arrives. Hope you find your dream home 🏡

ginandcake · 06/02/2017 20:39

I am stressing so much about getting 3 car seats across the back, it did not even enter my head before I got pregnant! Think we need to go to mother care and try a few options.

Congrats on the house news Ticky!

Badgerbird · 06/02/2017 20:41

Glad it went well raspberry :) mine did too, measuring bang on target and lovely strong heartbeat.

Hi bean big congrats! Hope you feel better soon that sounds horrid!! CakeBrew

Ooh preggo club rustler, enjoy! I might go tomoz.

I'm planning Hb too savage and bean. will have to see how things unfold :)

ticky great news about your house!!

Sipperskipper · 06/02/2017 21:12

adventure we are going for the buffalo too. There are mothercare evenings on this month (dates online) and its 10% off everything - so we will get our pram then.

I've got glucose test weds (mum diabetic, I'm slightly fat), and then obstetrician next week - wants to see me due to asthma (which is fine!)

ClaireSunflower · 06/02/2017 21:23

I've got a glucose test in a few weeks so you'll have to let me know how it is. My dad is diabetic so I've got to have the test (thanks dad!) haha

WishIWasSleeping · 06/02/2017 21:24

Thanks ladies - I'm so glad it's not just my imagination! I'm wearing a maternity jumper today. And to look at it, it just looks like a normal jumper, but then you put it on and as if by magic look 8 months gone!
Maybe I'll do a side by side for the other thread if I can get DD to sleep soon without crashing out with her on the sofa in her room!
We were lucky and DD has just grown out of her car seat, maxi cosi pebble plus I-size, as we brought forward thinking first time I know it can be used for this one and possibly any more with any law changes.
Hello! To the new ladies. Smile
We borrowed a sling from a sling library for our upcoming Weekend break for hubby to carry DD... it should be interesting to say the least, as she isn't a dainty little princess! Grin
Looking forward to going back for the new baby to see what options I'll have.

coxsorangepippin · 06/02/2017 21:35

hello new joiners! Love how many of us there are here - it gives a nice feeling of safety in numbers!

rustler glad you had a good impression of the strawberry. The uppababy ones looked great too, I'm just too small for their height/weight.

Badgerbird · 06/02/2017 21:54

Got my buggy! £99 from mothercare. Great reviews, all terrain, air filled tyres, came with car seat, cosy toes and rain cover. Well chuffed Smile

Pregnancy club was nice! I enjoyed last time as well, which was 2 months ago. Never made it to the January one as I had that streaming cold then.
It's a great opportunity to ask questions and there's a guest speaker about mental health which was good. The one in December was about acupuncture.
Thanks for all the pram tips, and welcome to newbies.

Btw the 'Car seat Advice for mummies and daddies' is really useful. I haven't had to ask my own question as others asked it for me. The admins are very knowledgeable and helpful. If you want to be aware of when posting is opened, follow the pinned post.
I tried the Evoluna I-size from Kiddies which is a lie flat car seat but it was so wobbly on its base in my car that I didn't feel it was going to give enough support. The ladies at the ICSC were very helpful though and kept trying with me until I found the right one for my car. It is different for every car.

Brightsmoke · 06/02/2017 22:12

Hello to new people :)

Been a while since I've been on, signed off for a week as still getting pains in my side from 2 weeks ago.

Very excited about being less than 100 days now, but after NC with 'D'M foe the whole pregnancy so far, apparently it runs in the family for first baby to be premature!

Adventure and Skipper, we've gone for the buffalo too, had it home a few months now and somehome resisted the temptation to put the dog in it for a walk and totally in love with it!

For those who have been through it before, what does labour actually feel like?

Sah1987 · 06/02/2017 22:12

Bean you're due the same day as me!!! 108 days to go!!! Getting scary!!!

This thread moves so fast!!!!! Wouldn't load earlier and then 20 messages pop up!!!!

Watching a series called pure genius - there's a portable ultrasound the same size as an iPad.
I know it's fake but I want one so bad!

savagehk · 06/02/2017 22:27

bright that's hard to say. I think it's different for every woman (and possibly every birth!). Mine felt like period pains more than anything, but you have amazing hormonal things going on which mean you (a) forget most of it pretty fast and (b) have time-compression going on. I think it's a lot worse to be watching actually.

Personally I wanted everyone to sod off and leave me alone (except OH), and didn't want to interact with anyone. My notes from last time arrived (not sure I mentioned that on here) and there's lots of 'savage is coping well' so my labour seemed to be doing OK - perhaps I was calmer than I thought even though I wasn't 'actively' doing my hypnobirthing (until the meconium and the dash up to labour ward, which is missing from my notes...). I was also using gas and air 'to good effect' or some such wording.

Rustler74 · 06/02/2017 22:53

Haha Savage you made me giggle really! Maybe the midwives are used to much worse?
I can't remember who asked (thread moving too fast, and/or too lazy to scroll down) but this is my first baby. I had no intention of giving anyone the impression that I am an experienced mummy WinkHalo

Teaspoon74 · 06/02/2017 22:56

Just online after a crazy day - good luck with the swap plan MrsPage!!! We went to John Lewis this eve for a nursery shopping appt and they ran through the seat options. Planning to get a new car (Mini is on last legs and filthy!) so need to check re appropriateness but leaving toward Maxi Cosi Pebble as have the bassinet for lying flat. Cyber is next option for me, though isofix base doesn't work with stage two seat. Didn't like the BeSafe as the plastic was hard and felt horrid around the edge of the hood. And really liked the Recaro seat but put off by the big signs on shop floor saying the bases had been recalled on safety grounds & JLP no longer stock!
& glad MW check went well Smile
*
Rustler* apparently Egg is the latest label/ from a known brand (described to me as "posh" after I'd bought it Smile) but I can't remember whose! The pram etc we bought has gone down by £50 too ;( http://www.pramworld.co.uk/egg-stroller-and-carrycot-gothic-purple-gun-metal#.WJj7ljzfWEc

How'd it go Rasperry?

Hiya Bean waves. Welcome! Been thinking about going to the baby event at Excel but can't decide if it will be useful. What are you hoping to see/ get there? Looking for reasons to go Grin

Ticky - huge congrats on the house!!!! And good luck with the next step.

Sah LOVE Pure Genius! And looking forward to lots of Netflix time when on mat leave (won't be anything else to do right?!? #firsttimer).

Sah1987 · 06/02/2017 23:18

Teaspoon- I used Netflix ALOT first time round. However my biggest piece of advice. Find a baby group for first time mums (surestart centres are good for this) and talk to people.
I have 4 mummy friends who I've known for 4 years and could not cope without. They were my lifeline from 6 weeks. Would have been earlier but Christmas got in the way (LG is 1st Dec child)

I'm 4 episodes in just this evening!!!

Teaspoon74 · 06/02/2017 23:28

Sah I do like a good medical tech drama ;)

Northernexile · 06/02/2017 23:36

Hello everyone, it's taken me all day to catch up again, these threads are so busy! I had a hospital appointment today (28+4 now) and a growth scan as last two were smallish. All looks OK, have to go back in 3 weeks for another scan, as well as midwife appointment at GPs in 2 weeks. It's reassuring though I suppose! I'll get my cs date at 34/35 weeks apparently. Have about 7 weeks left at work- eek!
Gin I've given up on the idea of getting three seats in the back of my Honda civic. Looking at Ford S-Max or Volvo XC90 as options. I didn't really want an MPV so prefer the Volvo as it's a SUV, but it's £££!

Rustler74 · 06/02/2017 23:38

Teaspoon I've been told that the last day of the baby event yo can do the best deals. Not sure when next one is tbh, 3-5 march I believe but need to check x
