Congratulations, Charli!
Fluffy and lily my scan is also on the 24th--just 17 more days to go!

WhiteLily86 · 07/02/2017 19:49

Thanks gingerbreadmam two weeks today until my scan, just have to be patient and hope everything is good!

Just out of interest how far along are we all & when are scans/midwife appointments?!

I'm 9+5 according to early scan or 11+2 according to LMP (which confuses me cause online it says I'd be 11+3 but foetal age of 9+3 - which is in line with what the early scan said)
So not sure how "pregnant" I am...
Had my booking appointment 2 weeks ago & I have my scan on 14th so only one week to go Shock

EssentialHummus · 07/02/2017 20:53

9+5 here too. My booking in appointment is next Tuesday, and 12 week scan is at the end of the month.

I feel like I have the latest booking in appointment Blush but that's what they could offer around here.

Would love to tell people already!

WhatwouldRuthdo · 07/02/2017 21:03

My booking in appointment is pretty late too. It's this Thursday, when I'll be 11 weeks. This is according to early scan dates but not far off the LMP dates

Gingerbreadmam · 07/02/2017 21:11

yes lily dont be worrying about it. enjoy your pregnancy.

im 8+6 according to early scan. got another one friday and think it might move forward a couple of days.

kep1979 · 07/02/2017 21:29

I'm 7+3, no idea of booking appointment yet - I've been to the GP and now waiting for the Midwife's appointment to come through.

Amz26 · 07/02/2017 21:33

My booking appointment is pretty late too! It's this Saturday when I'll be nearly 11weeks and my 12weeks scan is on the 23rd 😬 Really nervous still even tho I had an early scan 🙈

calimommy · 07/02/2017 21:57

It's mad really, I've already had two scans and I'm due a third on Friday. I'll be 10weeks. Not that I'd recommend the American health system. You are nothing and no one without health insurance. They won't even let you make an appointment with the go without giving your insurance details over the phone.

calimommy · 07/02/2017 21:59

*gp

Amz26 · 07/02/2017 23:20

calimommy I guess we are so lucky we have the NHS! I can't even imagine how hard it must be for people in the US without insurance 🤔 So Is that normal to have so many scans in the US if you have the right insurance? How many more will you have in your whole pregnancy? X

calimommy · 08/02/2017 01:51

No idea Amz, this is my first baby here, my other two were born in Ireland. But I did have go private there so I was consultant lead. Here the scans are 550$ each time so I'd say they do one every visit so they can charge the insurance companies. We would be having only 2, MAYBE 3 scans if we had to pay that ourselves!! I'll be interested to compare my hospital experience with my previous two deliveries.

flymo79 · 08/02/2017 02:20

Wow, Cali, $550 per scan is so much money!! I am having to pay for all my care here, fortunately a consultant appointment and scan has only been about £60 a pop, but it's going to get pricey, and that's if everything goes well...! I miss the nhs

calimommy · 08/02/2017 04:41

flymo I have no doubt that the prices are deliberately inflated, knowing that the insurance companies are playing for it. If people had to fork out that much there would be uproar because no one would have scans except the very wealthy. We have what's called a co-pay so that we only pay $20 each doctors visit, but the whole bill is over 200. To see your gp.
The scans are performed by technicians, then the images are handed to your doctor to be read and interpreted. This is not my first time and I'm a nurse so I have a fairly good idea what I'm looking at overall. When I went in at 6 weeks because of strong side pain, i could see clearly that the blastocyst was not in the Fallopian tube so it wasn't ectopic. Yet then I had to wait 1.5+ hrs to see the doctor. Eventually i just told them I couldn't wait and had to get home, they were all panicked because i hadn't gotten the results of the scan formally from the doc, but I said 'that's madness, sure I saw it myself, everything is fine, your telling me I'm waiting for her to tell me what I already know? I'll see you in two weeks, bye!'
And if you need blood work done, they send you to a phlebotomist lab next door (private obviously, more insurance stuff) neither the doc or the doc assistant will take bloods! Jobs for jobs! Everyone is making money! 🙄

calimommy · 08/02/2017 04:45

In Ireland to go private is approx €4000 for your consultant and then your health insurance pays the hospital costs etc. I know not everyone will agree but I was extremely happy to pay both times because of the treatment I received and I had a wonderful relationship with my consultant. I'm missing her dearly now!

Kskifred · 08/02/2017 07:15

I'm 9 weeks tomo, and still waiting for my booking in app and scan dates to come in the post Sad

Fluffywallow · 08/02/2017 07:17

Isn't it amazing how healthcare differs around the world. We sure do take it for granted that we just stroll into drs here for free.

My booking appt was a couple of weeks ago at 8 weeks exactly (by my dates - 9 weeks by lmp) my 12 week scan was booked for 12 weeks by lmp so I called and said I was pretty sure I'd only be 11 weeks then (as had 34 day cycle) so would that be too early? They said yes and moved it back to when I think I'll be 12 weeks, a week later.

9+5

charlij91 · 08/02/2017 07:59

I had my booking appointment 2 weeks ago and have my scan on the 20th, so still another 2 weeks to wait.

If I go by period dates I'm 10+3 but when I went for my private scan, they put me as a little further ahead so will be 11+2! Hoping the scan will give some clarity! 😒🙈

flymo79 · 08/02/2017 08:05

That would drive me mad cali, especially when you're a medical professional and know your stuff!

HellsBellsK · 08/02/2017 08:22

Congratulations Charli Such an exciting time for you!!

I have had one scan with my consultant at 8w, I am back in tomorrow for the Harmony test, Then next Wednesday it's my 12 week scan. I am 10+6 today.
Getting nervous again for the morning.
Calimommy i'm in Ireland and going private - finding it great so far. But lucky my fees are half - costing us €2500. But think it might be the hospital - Im going to The Rotunda but friends are going to Holles Street and paying €3500 +

lilyborderterrier · 08/02/2017 08:29

I will be nearly 14 weeks at my 1st scan. I'm in Calderdale West Yorkshire. I don't know how I can wait that long. Or keep it a secret as my bump grows so much.

sherbertlemon17 · 08/02/2017 08:36

I'm 7+4 today based on my early scan, and had my booking in appointment last Wednesday! Super early! I think I had it around & weeks last time. In fairness, based on LMP I would be 8+4 today which is why it was so early, but I'm really pleased with how efficient our midwives are where I live.

Scan date came through yesterday for 14th March. It's going to be a long 5 weeks!

Amber9083 · 08/02/2017 10:16

Hi all please can I join? I've added my details onto the spreadsheet!
I've been in an August 2017 mumsnet and FB group but as my due date is 28th august a lot of them are 4 weeks ahead of me! And mine could likely be September! I'm 11+2 today and have my dating scan on 13/2/17 it has felt such a long wait!! This will be our first baby, very excited X

puttingourhoodupdown · 08/02/2017 10:33

Welcome amber. 7+6 today and I am massive...keeping this hidden is going to be very tough!! Have my early scan on Friday so will see how I feel and may tell parents and in laws

puttingourhoodupdown · 08/02/2017 10:35
