I'm with you with the insomnia everdene. Mine was being unable to get to sleep. I gave up in the end and went to watch some TV as I was disturbing DH with my tossing and turning. I do finally get to sleep and then when my alarm goes off in the morning I am dead to the world but have to haul my sorry arse out of bed.

Good luck getting through the day today!

abeandhalo · 26/01/2017 08:15

I've developed a new symptom of really awful aches in my pelvis, I've had to work from home today as walking/sitting for a long time does not feel good.

I'm hoping I've just overdone the pelvic floor exercises but I have a feeling it might be PGP. I've always had a slight misalignment in my legs so I think it is probably that but I'm sure the NHS will say it's my BMI. Hmm

Going to ramp up the swimming/walking in the pool to a couple of times a week & hope it in approves!

marmitecheesetoast · 26/01/2017 09:36

Thanks choccy I'll make sure I pick one up.

Purple not sure what quality is like, although looked ok from quick glance to me, but I got some really lovely colourful gender neutral clothes in the Aldi baby event at the weekend (green and yellow with safari animals) if that helps. Was v pleased to find some non white/cream/bland stuff!

That doesn't sound good abe hope you've just overdone it a bit as you say and it eases soon.

I've been waking up every hour or two for weeks on end now but, so far, touch wood, at least seem to get back to sleep relatively easily.

I'm really noticing less kicks and more hard sort of 'pushing' movements from baby now. Almost looks like they are sticking a knee or their bum out and it's pushing my bump out! No idea on orientation though!

jpeg28 · 26/01/2017 14:32

I was apparently disturbing OH with me tossing and turning... bloody cheek!! I'll toss and turn all I like! I did end up on the sofa but still!!

abe hope the pelvis pain goes away, mine was awful and has gone away now. I don't even do a lot of exercise but swimming now and again helps. I do walk quite a lot which I suppose helps.

Purple I have stuff from m&s which is nice and John Lewis. But did get a few Aldi bits but they are not as good quality.

MonkeyArms · 26/01/2017 15:43

I on the other end of the sleeping spectrum at the moment. Out like a light from about 8pm and managed to be an hour late for work this morning because i slept through my alarm. Can barely keep my eyes open!

MrsBac83 · 26/01/2017 16:37

I got some nice neutral stuff from Asda. Almost all of the others bits I've got have been white and grey which is lovely but when you look at it altogether it looks quite boring. But Asda did some white babygrows with bright colourful writing on which really made a difference to the grey.
I've been buying a bunch of body suits etc from Primark. No idea how good the quality is but they seem ok and as they work out to £1 each I can't argue. They won't be in them 5 mins as you say.

Am looking forward to being able to buy boys/girls clothes though once we know. Smile

SharkBastard · 26/01/2017 18:16

See I suffered terrible insomnia from 6 to 18 weeks, now I'm sleeping really well but that hasn't curbed the tiredness though!

I've still bought nothing for the baby other than a lamp and a poster, I've also started to marinate a bottle of sloe gin so I have a drink from when he arrives ;)

We're off to Ikea in mid February, so I will knuckle down and get the room sorted. Need to paint it and stencil it, then when I start maternity I'll go buy clothes and pack a bag!

I'm not organised at all

jpeg28 · 26/01/2017 19:10

Also purple I got some lovely stuff in mamas and papas, they have 20% off clothing at the moment too!

everdene · 27/01/2017 07:19

Shark I'm exactly the same! Grin planned the bottle of champagne we're having, don't have anything other than donations from family and friends yet.

We did discuss on the way home from NCT what to do during early labour, and I've started filling my hospital bag but haven't yet finished the baby's room. All in good time... Wink

purpleviolet1 · 27/01/2017 08:00

Nursery furniture, car seat etc is all arriving beginning of march so will get room set up around then. Dh needs to wash the carpet and paint the room before that though. Not sure what colour to paint? The furniture is an ivory colour and we have a cream with brown carpet (I would love to change but can't bring myself to as it wasn't put in that long ago, but before we started ttc) I have no creativity whatsoever so would appreciate any suggestions! I think I want it quite neutral and calming if that helps.

At the moment my focus is getting hospital bag packed and then I'll move onto baby's clothes, blankets etc. By the time I finish work early march I want to be quite chilled and relaxed!

abeandhalo · 27/01/2017 10:47

We've got the nursery furniture but decided we're not going to bother decorating it as he's not even going to be in there (other than getting dressed) until at least the end of the year. We've decided to concentrate on the things we really do need to get ready like hospital bag, clothing, etc.

Got a doctor's appointment at lunch time regarding the pelvic pain. It's been much better after yesterday's rest day but I need it all to be in good working order in a couple of month's time so want to get it checked! Plus I've still got 6 weeks at work I need to get through.

TopKittyKat · 27/01/2017 17:54

Thank goodness it's the weekend! This has been a looong week.

I hope the doctors appointment went well abe and they can do something to help.

Shark, everdene - I've got a bottle of red wine earmarked for after baby arrived. We picked it up in Bordeaux in the summer. I was about 10 weeks pregnant then and so missed out on all the wine tasting and gorgeous cheeses. DH keeps suggesting we take it when we go round friend's houses for dinner and I have to keep putting my foot down!

marmite - how are you getting on with your renovations? Have you found a new builder. Sounds stressful!

We haven't bought anything for baby yet. We've got quite a lot of hand me downs though which is great.

You're all spurring me on to start buying things for my hospital bag. I might have to start slipping a few items onto our online shop order.

abeandhalo · 27/01/2017 20:16

Doc's appointment went OK thanks, although she just Googled the same page I'd looked at at home & read the advice to me Grin

She told me to speak to my midwife though as they are likely to know more about it, so I'll do that next time I see them. Hopefully good posture, warm baths, rest & more swimming will sort out the problem.

everdene · 28/01/2017 07:08

Sorry to hear that Abe, I've been having pelvis pain but it does seem to be easing.

Swimming really helped and felt SO nice to be floating/weightless after feeling so heavy!

TopKittyKat · 28/01/2017 17:38

It sounds like you're doing all you can abe. Fingers crossed your midwife can offer more help.

everdene · 28/01/2017 22:59

Is anyone else REALLY grumpy? Blush

I have snapped at my DH and DB today, totally unlike me.

jpeg28 · 29/01/2017 07:01

everdene I was sooooooo irrational and grumpy yesterday morning and then again in the evening!! Don't know why, just was!! Must be the hormones!! Grin

Got my car seat, base and cot etc yesterday!!! It's getting closer!!

purpleviolet1 · 29/01/2017 11:06

Exciting times jpeg!!!

marmitecheesetoast · 29/01/2017 11:48

Ooh that's exciting jpeg! What's next on your list?

Loving the sounds of the sloe gin/Bordeaux wine/champagne shark kittykat and everdene! That's something else to add to my planning list! Get a nice bottle of something in! Grin

I've been on bridesmaid duty at my friend's hen do all weekend so feeling pretty knackered now! It seemed very cruel that I ended up on prosecco opening and pouring duty for much of the weekend!

Thanks Kittykat it's all a bit stressful to be honest. DH has decided he's just going to do all the work himself with the help of his dad, apparently all will be fine... but it means he's going to have take all his leave to get it done which means he'll have no leave left for after the baby is born Sad he'll have 2 weeks paternity leave but then no leave left for a couple of months so I'm a bit gutted about that as obviously had expected him to be able to use that after the baby has been been born

jpeg28 · 29/01/2017 12:20

Not sure what I need to get next marmite... things like sling etc I'm going to wait to buy. Probably should start saving some money now!! It's so hard though not to keep buying!
Sounds like your DH had a tough time ahead doing all the building. That is so unfair you were on prosecco duty!! Sometimes I couldn't care less about not drinking... other times I'm gagging for a wine!!

abercorn · 30/01/2017 11:42

Oh marmite, good luck with the works and hope its not v stressful.
For the lovely ladies around north west london, there is a moms-to be meetup on 6th feb evening. Happy to share details if it interests anyone.
Meanwhile, i hope things are ok with everyone as we count down Smile, good luck.

TopKittyKat · 30/01/2017 12:00

Oh no! That is disappointing marmite. I hope the work goes well.

So, has anyone else hit the 30 week mark and suddenly become ravenously hungry? It's insatiable! Unfortunately the fatigue is also back. Just dragging my sorry arse into work is an effort. Surely that's enough and I shouldn't have to work when I get there? I should be allowed to sit at my desk and just eat, right?!

everdene · 30/01/2017 21:44

Kitty I'm the same! I'm sooo tired at work and just starving too!

Today I took leftover pizza Wink for lunch and ended up scoffing it in the car on my way to work at 8.30am!

peanut2017 · 30/01/2017 22:09

Hey ladies haven't been on for a while. Was at Pilates this evening and was telling us how to do the perineum massage 😳 or that your other half should do it from 34 weeks! I thought it was more massage and not internally as well! Oh the joys.

Work is quite stressful at the moment as they are keeping the person on after I come back but not quite sure what the role is. Interviewed 3 people today but boss wasn't impressed nor was I but wanted her to come to that conclusion herself!

Got furniture yesterday in the mamas and papas sale - think it's called mia! So getting real now

I am so up and down though - one minute happy, then I could kill someone and then next minute I am crying! My poor husband!

Meeting a friend this weekend who has 3 kids so will start getting the bits ready for the hospital bag!

To finished work until I'm 38 which seems ages away

Hope Luchi & scandi little ones are ok

jpeg28 · 31/01/2017 06:53

peanut that's exciting about the furniture! I love all of the mamas and papas ranges. I know what you mean about being up and down. I'm the same. I really can't be bothered with work at all either which is not good as I still have 9 weeks left!! Massage sounds.... interesting! Has anyone done this before?!!
