Good luck mygirl !

Went for my 39 weeks scan today and growth has dipped so had a sweep and being induced tomorrow Confused getting nervous now!
Had a few cramps and was 1cm dilated already so hopefully won't be too long although I know inductions can take a while Confused

MygirlKeith · 27/03/2017 21:16

Ruaridh James was born at 11.51am weighing 7lb 8oz which makes him the smallest of my babies! Elective section went fine and my pain is nicely controlled, I actually feel better now than I did before with the SPD! Pelvis is fine now!
He's had some good feeds and been nice and settled between so fingers crossed I get a few hours tonight.

Aw my girl that is fantastic news! What a gorgeous little thing! Love the name! Irish? Hope you are doing ok!

Had a nice first day off work. Went to a breastfeeding group - well two of them in it. Did feel a bit like I was intruding two friends meeting up! Might check out another one.

Then had reflexology in my house which was amazing and felt so chilled as didn't have to move or drive anywhere!

Hope you are all doing well!

HLBug · 27/03/2017 21:55

Aww Mygirl he's just gorgeous! Very glad to hear that section went well and that you're managing the pain / recovery ok. Hope you get some rest tonight. Will they let you out tomorrow do you think? They are trying to do that in my area for planned sections when it's not a first time mum. Will keep fingers crossed for you!

So, tally update - 1 for the #pinks, 3 for the #blues and 4 #csecs

pinkunicorn looks like you'll be up next? Hope the induction goes well!

TopKittyKat · 27/03/2017 22:05

Congrats Mygirl. He is goegeous. I'm so glad everything went well for you.

Good luck Pinkunicorn - we'll eagerly await your update. I hope everything goes well.

Peanut - I had a great first day of mat leave too. I had a leisurely morning with a long soak in the bath. As it was such a nice day I did a bit of pottering in the garden and also popped to see my dad. Lovely chilled out day.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

MygirlKeith · 27/03/2017 22:50

Thankyou all! peanut it's a Gaelic name, the way we spell it is Scots Gaelic but it's common in Ireland too although spelled slightly differently. I love it but we weren't sure if we should use it as spelling will be an issue but in the end there was nothing I liked as much so we went with it!

peanutbutter310 · 28/03/2017 06:54

Congrats mygirl, he's lovely!

Kitty, glad you enjoyed your first day off. Isn't it nice having these spring days to relax!

After lots of Braxton Hicks over the weekend I was meant to be resting yesterday, but my nesting instinct was so strong I ended up doing loads of cleaning, baking and admin instead. Going to force myself to rest today instead even though it's not even 7am and all I want to do is get up and clean the fridge.

Good luck pinkunicorn!

peanut2017 · 28/03/2017 07:37

Love the name my girl I'm Irish and have seen it spelled a different way but knew immediately how to say it. How are you doing?

Still in bed and refuse to get up yet. I'm the same other peanut I bought a filing cabinet and want to sort out our paperwork as it's currently all piled on top of each other!

abeandhalo · 28/03/2017 07:47

Congratulations what a cutie!

Last night was my last commitment before the due date so now he is free to come whenever he likes. I'm on the raspberry leaf tea now as I'm getting bored of waiting to be honest! Grin

marmitecheesetoast · 28/03/2017 09:14

Congrats mygirl he's gorgeous and a really lovely name! Glad all went smoothly for you.

Kittykat and peanut glad you enjoyed first days of mat leave, me too - what a stunning sunny day for it! I spent most of it sitting in the garden, was exciting to get two loads of washing dry on the line ha!! Sunny again today (people keep telling me how well I've timed this baby and mat leave ha ha) off to meet some of the girls from my NCT group later. Was the breastfeeding class useful peanut?
I do feel a bit weird now though, without any routine or structure other than waiting to go into labour at some point...!!! All the milestones are past now so it is just waiting!

Reflexology session in your house sounds amazing peanut - I went for pregnancy reflexology last week but had to walk there and back in the rain so wasn't quite as relaxing as yours sounds!!

peanut2017 · 28/03/2017 18:50

Hey marmite yeah thought going was good. Was nice to meet them & gave me some advice but the fact there is only 2 of them would prob put me off as they are friends and as my mother say twos company and threes a crowd. Going to find another one just to see.

Had a massage today! Getting as much in as I can. Baby not moving as much today but is moving just not as often. Back in with doctor in the morning.

How many bags are you bringing as I have a weekend and a Ryanair size luggage bag but can't close either? Should I hand another in the car that has some of the baby & my clothes as we won't need everything the first day?

Anyone get up to anything nice? How are the new mammies?

peanutbutter310 · 28/03/2017 19:11

Peanut I would have needed a medium sized suitcase to fit everything in one, so have got two weekend sized bags. One has got everything I need for during labour, and the second is for me and baby once she arrives.

abeandhalo · 28/03/2017 19:36

I've got a weekend size bag for me and then an absolutely stuffed changing bag for the baby, then a little shopping bag with drinks & snacks.

SharkBastard · 28/03/2017 21:01

I have a one weekend bag and a changing bag which is a rucksack for all the baby gear.

I'm a light packer! Just need snacks but can't get them till my last scan confirms how I'm being induced

peanut2017 · 28/03/2017 21:29

Tried to reshuffle the two bags making one a labour bag & one post labour! Nearly killing husband as I think we should just get a bigger bag. He reckons he can just bring things in and I'm just being mental which is quite possible at this stage.

Tested out the tens machine on my forearm and wow there is some strength off it! Hubbie tried it too gave us a right giggle as if made our hands involuntarily move

marmitecheesetoast · 29/03/2017 08:29

I've gone for 3 bags 🙈
One cabin sized suitcase as my labour bag
One weekend hold-all as baby's bag
And then another cabin sized suitcase which will stay in the car and just had extra stuff for me and baby should we stay in longer than a day
Still need to sort out snacks and drinks into shopper bag

peanutbutter310 · 29/03/2017 11:04

On the subject of packing, one tip from NCT was for DH to pack his own bag. We had been so focused on what the baby and I would need that we didn't think of that ourselves!

Mine has got a small backpack that we've popped in the car alongside my bags. There are plenty of lists on google, mine has packed: snacks for him, phone charger, camera, a t-shirt for labour (in case he has to come straight from work) and something clean to change into afterwards (button down shirt so he can do some skin to skin).

peanut2017 · 29/03/2017 12:45

Hey bought a bigger bag today so think that will do the trick. Was in hospital this morning. All good. Baby is still ahead in size so will see how we go next week when I'm back. Head is moving down which is good.

Consultant actually did read my birth wish list. I explained that I just want to feel involved so he said it all seemed fine but things can always change. Felt better about that as before when I mentioned a birth wish list he kind of shut me down.

Haven't moved off sofa since I got home. Have yoga later. Takes time to switch off from work as so used to going non stop

TopKittyKat · 29/03/2017 17:27

Great tip on the button down shirt for DH Peanutbutter

You're all making me feel better about how much stuff I'm taking in. I was a bit Shock at the amount of bags I'm accumulating!

TopKittyKat · 29/03/2017 17:28

Peanut - I'm glad you feel better after seeing your consultant.

Enjoy yoga!

PinkUnicorn1990 · 30/03/2017 09:00

Baby Unicorn was born yesterday at 5:48am weighing 7lbs exactly. From induction took only 16 hours so was very quick and intense!

bangbangprettypretty · 30/03/2017 09:02

Gorgeous!!! Congratulations unicorn!!

abeandhalo · 30/03/2017 11:28

So cute!

We thought it was baby time yesterday, spent 3 hours in the midwife unit last night to be told my waters hadn't actually broken it was just some other gross fluids! Hmm

Feel like I'm in limbo just waiting for baby to arrive.

MygirlKeith · 30/03/2017 11:35

Congratulations pink unicorn!!

peanutbutter310 · 30/03/2017 11:37
