I keep getting 'you look REALLY pregnant today'. Well I am really pregnant, not just slightly pregnant.

I am also snoring apparently but DP is still worse than me. I may have smacked him last night and I haven't heard the end of it since!

abeandhalo · 27/02/2017 20:32

I think I would cry if my PGP/SDP suddenly disappeared. It has rendered me housebound other than going to sit in the office (less than 2 weeks to go!) I can't drive, I can only just about make it the supermarket if I'm accompanied & even then I had such a severe round ligament pain outside Sainsbury's yesterday that I was going paralysed leaning against the trolley in the car park in agony & we just had to stand there and wait for it to pass.

I've got the gym ball, support belt which I've worn a bit & use my pregnancy pillow every night, dread to think how bad it would be otherwise!

We bought our changing bag second hand from eBay, I was a bit dubious as it sounded a bit gross but it arrived today & it's like new. I couldn't find one I liked better than the Cath Kidston double pocket bag but I was not happy paying £95 for it - we found a precious year's design on eBay for £35.

everdene · 27/02/2017 21:54

I'm on the countdown from work, nine days to go! 🎉🍹👯

My maternity cover started today, it feels odd to be handing work over but I am SO glad to be packing up soon.

I have got PGP and am snoring away at night Smile, I am only getting a couple of hours continuous sleep at night so I'm knackered.

TopKittyKat · 28/02/2017 06:16

I hope everyone had a better night's sleep than I did.
I had an unexpected bout of diarrhoea last night and have had constant period-type pains since.
I hope it's not a sign of imminent labour - I'm only 34+2.

Sorry so many of you are struggling with hip pain. It sounds awful.

We've got a second hand change bag as well. They are so expensive and it felt a bit ridiculous paying ££ for what was essentially just a bag. DH wanted something 'manly' for when he is using it and so we have gone for a plain blue one.

peanutbutter310 · 28/02/2017 07:40

Sorry to hear about all the sleep problems. After a horrible few nights the exhaustion finally got to me, and I managed to sleep right through for a change. Feel like a new woman!

amelie427 · 28/02/2017 07:42

Abe I'm so sorry to hear how bad your pelvis is. It sounds much worse than mine, I really hope it at least eases off a little bit for you. I'm expecting mine to return with a vengeance to be honest.

Everdene I used BreatheRight nose strips last night and apparently I didn't snore at all! I feel so much more rested and haven't woken up with a raw throat for the first time in ages.

marmitecheesetoast · 28/02/2017 08:15

So sorry to hear your pgp is so bad abe you poor thing that sounds miserable. The end is in sight now though at least.

V jealous of you sleeping through the night last night peanut that must feel amazing!

Hope you're ok kittycat and it's just period pain sensations from pressure/baby dropping etc? I've had random bouts of diahhrea on and off last few weeks and have put it down to baby pushing on guts - no idea whether that's the case or not!

I woke up in the night with what I'm presuming was a BH (not really noticed having any til now) - bump was rock hard. But then when I rolled over in bed it reallly hurt and was then quite painful and spasmy for a good few minutes is that normal for a BH at this point?! Or maybe I twinged a ligament or something?

Ha Jenny that is funny! Why do people come out with these things?!!

Thanks for the input on the changing bags will check some of those out. Some of the girls from NCT have got the pacapod ones but they seem pretty expensive and I'm not sure the separate pod bits wouldn't maybe annoy me!

MygirlKeith · 28/02/2017 08:20

Sorry to hear so many of us are struggling with PGP. I left a message for physio yesterday to say I think the time has come to give up and take the crutches so will see what she says when she calls back. In a lot of pain yesterday plus I think he was lying on a nerve as I've been getting shooting pains up my spine and into my neck.
Only 4 weeks to go until he is here though so just need to keep on keeping on!

purpleviolet1 · 28/02/2017 11:17

Hi everyone,

Last week at work and definitely glad I'm finishing up at 36 and not 38 as originally planned...

I got the nimnuk changing bag, jpeg I thought it was you who recommended it but I see you bought a different one! It was only £18 in the sale from £60 so I'm quite pleased.

Baby still breech at appt yesterday so they mentioned that if there are no other issues then a c section would be best at 39 weeks. I was hoping to be done a little earlier to be honest as my previous scar is causing me a lot of pain with the stretching and baby is on the 96th percentile ShockShock next scan is on Friday so hopefully know more then.

35+4

HLBug · 28/02/2017 20:40

This starts on BBC One at 9pm tonight...thinking I might give it a miss, lol

April 2017 # 6 - Third trimester is here!
marmitecheesetoast · 01/03/2017 09:21

Haha HL yeah that one is probably best avoided! I'm interviewing for maternity cover next week Hmm

abeandhalo · 01/03/2017 12:56

Saw my MW today & she said that she was talking to the head MW at the MW-led unit at the local hospital earlier this week & they are looking at trying to accommodate more women who don't fit the very narrow perimeters of being allowed in MW-unit and long story short it looks like I may be able to go there after all not the labour ward of the hospital.

I am absolutely delighted they are even considering it as the only reason they were making me go to the consultant led labour ward was b/c of my BMI even though the pregnancy so far has gone swimmingly.

It will be lovely if it does come off, not just for me but for other women after me with high BMIs they will have a much better argument!

They might let me use the birthing pools and everything! I've only put on about a stone for the whole pregnancy & with the severity of my PGP we actually have a v good argument pro water birth. Fingers crossed!

purpleviolet1 · 01/03/2017 15:42

ThTs great news abe!

I went to Hosp for reduced movement this morning, was hooked up on the monitor and all appears ok. They did the growth scan today instead of Friday to make double sure and it was ok too although baby was in a really awkward position as well as being 'extended breech'. Estimated weight is 6lbs 6 ounces. The fluid level is on the low side of normal so she said most likely be looking at a c section.
Next appt on Monday now.

35+5 today.

jpeg28 · 01/03/2017 17:41

Great news abe! I wish we had a MW unit here, I would much prefer it to the hospital!

purple baby is a good weight Smile it's really not going to be long now! Hope you get some answers about CS etc at your next app.

Hope everyone else is ok... I'm feeling humungous!! And also like time is passing soooooo slowly now! Just like the first trimester all over again!

purpleviolet1 · 01/03/2017 19:10

It's a good weight but I still have a few weeks to go ShockShock not sure if it was clear but it was 6lb6 today!

abeandhalo · 01/03/2017 19:19

Thanks all I'm v excited about the prospect!

I went walking in the pool this evening, I can't believe how lovely it feels! Every step is an effort normally but in the pool I just feel normal, like the weight is lifted.

TopKittyKat · 01/03/2017 21:36

Great news abe - you must be delighted. I hope it all works out for you.

Eeek purple how big do the think baby will be by due date?

I had a chat to my boss yesterday as I'm struggling at work now. We were meant to have mat cover in by now but it hasn't happened and it's all a bit stressful. He was really good and I'm able to work from home more now (which I did today). It makes such a difference not having my 1.45hr commute each way.

I hope everyone is doing ok. Not long until we will start getting news of little arrivals. It's so exciting!

peanut2017 · 01/03/2017 22:49

HL that made me laugh! That's exactly how I'm feeling ha ha just been told my cover has accepted, never got to meet her and our CEO just said "she's different" whatever that means! Especially as she will be kept on but doing what they don't know. Feels really weird like I'm leaving permanently, starting to take things out of my office. Stupid thoughts like will my team love her more Shock will have 2 weeks with her and part of me wants to tell her everything but then the devil side of me wants her to figure things out like I did! So weird

everdene · 02/03/2017 05:54

Peanut I'm handing over to my maternity cover at the moment, it feels SO odd but I hope she does ok, not least so she can make things easy for when I return!

peanut2017 · 02/03/2017 06:22

That's the other side everdene i don't want to come back to crap either. She is experienced so doubt that will happen! Just don't want them to love her too much sad or what??

abeandhalo · 02/03/2017 06:52

My maternity cover has been in since Jan training with me. I really like him, I feel that my job is in relatively safe hands but at the same time I know he's not as good as me so he won't outshine me by the time I come back. Grin

The other good thing is that b/c he's young I've been able to make him get up & get my printing, etc, when my hips hurt too much to walk!

jpeg28 · 02/03/2017 18:34

They haven't employed a maternity cover for me and I have had to sort out what's happening with all my classes... could have left it as technically not my responsibility but I felt bad for my classes. My school are so disorganised!!! I've had to rearrange loads of people's timetable and they won't cover my year 12s which is a joke! Really starting to look forward to leaving now though... 5 weeks tomorrow!

peanut2017 · 02/03/2017 20:22

That's mad jpeg especially for a school. Meant to finish at 38 weeks so another 4 weeks of work which I'm struggling with.

In hospital today & all good! Baby is 5 pounds & 8??? Already! Got 3D pictures! Baby had hand over face so only got one with some of their face! So emotional especially as our first loss would have been one years of age around this time!

Midwife said I need to finish at least at 37 weeks as I'm working a 10 hour day before commuting but this would be only the second week with my cover & of course I'm such a conscientious person I'd feel bad if I finished up early!

purpleviolet1 · 02/03/2017 22:06

How far are you peanut?? A scan yesterday for me at 35+5 estimated 6 pounds & 6 ! On the 97th percentile...... I've got gestational diabetes. I must admit I am worried!

peanut2017 · 02/03/2017 22:13

I'm 33 + 4 days purple so ages to go Shock they said they think will end up around 8 pounds but think they were just being nice! Sure it has to come out Smile gestational diabetes must be hard?
