Hi everyone, haven't been on here for a while - hope you're all doing well and bumps growing nicely Grin

Can't believe I'm 31 weeks already, it's flying by. I see a few of you have got rib pain as well, sympathies!! Me too, owwww. I am struggling to fasten even my maternity bras - could my ribs be being pushed out?! Shock I read recently that you should buy maternity bras to fit on the tightest back setting instead of the loosest like normal - wish someone told me that before! Think I'll have to give in and go for the crop-top style ones before long.

Anyone else suffering from spider veins too? I have this giant purple blotchy bruise on my calf - it disappears each night when I lie down but back with a vengeance as soon as I stand up. Doc says it's probably pregnancy-related and may go away after baby's born, here's hoping! I'm just glad it's not summer and I can hide it under jeans and leggings for now.

Sorry, that turned into a bit of a pregnancy rant! The joys! It has been fun buying baby stuff and at our last scan the nurse kindly turned on the 4D so we got a glimpse of our little one's face - amazing. Just can't wait to meet him now!

Cuppaqueen · 16/02/2017 09:40

Oh, and I have a date for meeting our son! Booked in for elective C-section on 12 April. So less than 2 months to go now ... Smile

Wow that's so exciting cuppa that you have a date!! That's what I don't like... not knowing when he will arrive!! 31+2 for me and getting impatient already!

I'm not really sleeping at all anymore... I manage to fall asleep from about 10-12 and that's it. The sofa is basically my new bed!!

Also... this is a bit TMI... but... I think I may have piles!!!!!!!! I've read it's a common pregnancy side affect but didn't think it would happen to me. Not painful but I know it's there... anyone had the same/have some advice!

purpleviolet1 · 16/02/2017 15:27

That's so exciting cuppa!!! I wish I had a date ha....

abercorn · 16/02/2017 16:04

Hello ladies,
Sorry to hear of the rib pain.
A few poses my yoga teacher mentioned for general pregnancy well being of body:
(1) stand arms length from the wall and bend sttaight from hips with hands on wall.
(2) standing upright with wider feet and slightly bent knees. Try making circles and signs of eight with the hip bone (not with tummy).
(3) For those always used to sleeping on back earlier, a five min pose to lie on the floor with hips touching the wall and feet up on the wall.
Apart from this, i am going to the loo almost every hour now!
And even with the pregnancy pillow, cant sleep properly half the days. I guess its preparation for when the baby arrives!

cuppa
Its nice you have a date with the baby, happy for you Smile

TopKittyKat · 16/02/2017 16:18

Cuppa - I'm on the crop top bras. They are the way forward! So much more comfortable.

That's so exciting that you have a date. I bet the closer I get to my due date the more impatient I will get.

Jpeg - I'm not suffering at the moment but have suffered in the past. You have my sympathy.

Marmite - I'm with you on the baby brain. I turned up for a dentist appointment on the wrong date. I was a month early. At least I was early rather than late! Then I missed my 12 week scan. I got the date wrong and only noticed when I got the paperwork out on the morning of the scan to see it was the day before. Luckily they could squeeze me in. Then finally, when I went for my flu jab I thought I was going for a midwife appointment. I was dutifully sat in the waiting room with my notes and pot of urine. The nurse was calling me in a different waiting room for the jab. Luckily she came and found me but I was very confused about what was happening.
DH now oversees all calendar bookings and double checks I'm where I'm supposed to be!

TopKittyKat · 16/02/2017 16:20

Thanks for the yoga poses abercorn

MygirlKeith · 16/02/2017 17:02

purpleviolet I'll be having mine in March, 27th to be exact! Due 2 April but having an ELCS at 39 weeks so a wee March baby

abeandhalo · 16/02/2017 18:40

I had to put my husband in charge of appointments & I kept getting them wrong. I've never done anything like that before in my life pre-pregnancy I was horrified!

PGP pretty awful but walking in the pool a few nights a week seems to help & each week I make it through w/o time off work / having to use crutches I consider a success!

everdene · 17/02/2017 07:49

I keep forgetting things too - I feel a bit 'dreamy' and like I'm not totally with it - sure I'll feel better once I'm on maternity leave but it's very weird not feeling up to speed!

purpleviolet1 · 17/02/2017 08:31

2 weeks today I finish work! Can't wait.

jpeg28 · 17/02/2017 08:36

That's amazing purple!!! 7 weeks today for me Confused

TopKittyKat · 17/02/2017 09:57

5 weeks and most definitely counting for me!

I'm working from home today and have managed a morning swim. I'm taking the lead from others on here who have said it helps. It did feel good being in the water.

peanutbutter310 · 17/02/2017 10:12

Today is the last day for me Grin

marmitecheesetoast · 17/02/2017 11:14

Ok I'm glad I'm not alone KittyKat Abe and Everdene!! Abe I would never have done anything like that pre-pregnancy either, I guess baby brain really is a thing! (or maybe the severe lack of sleep!!)

Congrats on your last day today Peanutbutter hope you get a nice send off!

5 weeks today to finish for me but I'm using leave to do shorter weeks now! And 8 weeks today til due date.... how did that happen?! Confused

Glad you enjoyed your morning swim KittyKat I've been trying to keep up my swimming at least once a week and do really enjoy it. It's better now I can go on my day off during the day when the pool is quieter rather than after work when I'm already knackered and the lanes are mobbed!

Exciting that you've got a date Cuppa!

Any exciting plans for the weekend? DH is still very tied up with building work so most of the weekend will be taken up with that again Hmm I'm hoping we manage to get some quality time together at some point before the baby arrives! Think I'm going to get on with reading my hypnobirthing book!

purpleviolet1 · 17/02/2017 11:21

It's nice to hear everyone's updates! 34 weeks today. No major plans for weekend but we are putting a deposit down on a new build hopefully, entry date June/July.......... don't know how good an idea that is but we won't have to move in a rush. Just hope everything works out financially etc which it should do really. Still feels scary! New baby new house!

jpeg28 · 17/02/2017 11:44

Congrats on finishing today peanut! I think I'm really going to struggle with 7 more weeks... think I'll be teaching from a comfy chair by the end!

That's exciting purple!! Least once you're in the house will be all done so you won't be doing building projects with a new born!

OH went off on his school ski trip today, very jealous! But looking forward to having a whole bed to myself for a week Grin

No weekend plans for me. Trying to deep clean the house today but get tired after about 30 mins!!

abeandhalo · 17/02/2017 13:02

I've got 3 more weeks after today & that is definitely enough! Counting down the days!

Cuppaqueen · 17/02/2017 13:19

Thanks ladies Smile

Ooh, not long now till everyone's mat leave! When are you getting hospital bags ready etc? I think I should still do mine for a month before just in case baby decides to ignore his scheduled arrival date!

I'm with you all on the swimming. It's bliss getting in the pool and just feeling all the weight lift off my poor abs. Ironically, in the water is the only place I don't feel like a whale right now Wink

MygirlKeith · 17/02/2017 16:10

I finished work today too and my lovely colleagues did a tea for me and gave me flowers and vouchers and a Costco cake with a dinosaur on it! So happy to be finished!

jpeg28 · 17/02/2017 16:33

That's so lovely Mygirl!

Cuppa I have half got my bags sorted this week just because I've been on half term but I'll probably finish them off over the next couple of weeks.

peanutbutter310 · 17/02/2017 16:50

Cuppa I've started to think about what I might need, but will probably pull it all together and do the actual packing around week 36.

peanutbutter310 · 17/02/2017 17:02

And congrats on finishing today also mygirl! I had mixed emotions today, but ultimately looking forward to relaxing and getting ready for the new arrival! What are you planning during your time off before the baby arrives?

MygirlKeith · 17/02/2017 18:23

Thanks jpeg

peanutbutter my plan is to put my feet up while the big 2 are at school! I do so much rushing around after school with them that those 6 hours of peace are going to be bliss!

peanut2017 · 17/02/2017 19:24

Hey all. Lovely to be finished for some of you. I'm meant to have another 6 weeks of work but it's definitely getting harder! My sister was over with the kids from the uk during the week & was a great help getting rid of stuff! Got rid of 7 black bags of clothes & shoes! Furniture due to come next week and might pick up buggy, car seat etc next week

Started to pack both bags - not finished though

Are you guys washing the babies clothes, sheets etc?

Also out of interest are you involved in work with getting your mat cover? Work haven't treated me the best I feel in terms of involving me in the process and are going to make the person permanent when I come back not doing my role but are not clear on what exactly they will be doing. Have you been involved in interviews etc?
