The bounty packs really aren't exciting, you're not missing out!

I've had a sickness bug (I think bug - very hard to know when you're pregnant what is pregnancy related and what is not) for 3 days. Feeling awful Sad and just so bloody knackered!

Green I feel like I'm coming down with something too - could totally do without it.

I rang the midwife and said I'd been forgotten about did my 31 week appointment - fingers crossed they'll sort it out for me. It's my first pregnancy so I'm not sure why they overlooked it.

TopKittyKat · 13/02/2017 09:22

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekends. Any more baby purchases?

I met up with a friend who had a baby girl three months ago. It was the first time I'd met the baby as they live quite far away and we don't get together very often. It was very exciting and I kept thinking 'I'm going to have one of these soon'.

Green / everdene - I hope you're both feeling better today.

I'm not feeling ill but just can't sleep and so am exhausted. I've called my boss to say I'm working from home today. I've got deadlines to meet today otherwise I would have called in sick. I feel like my head is in a thick fog.

My issue is awful rib pain. It's on the inside edge of the ribs from the sternum down to my lower ribs. It hurts to sit or to lie down. Is anyone else getting this?

PinkUnicorn1990 · 13/02/2017 09:42

Topkitty I've had a bit of rib pain but not constantly thankfully, think it's when she lies in a certain way when I'm asleep!

Been to hospital last night for reduced movements (anterior placenta, so annoying!) and as usual she comes to life kicking away as soon as those straps go on! Although it was strange when the midwife was holding one of the pads and felt a massive kick, could hear it on the monitor but I could hardly feel it, damn placenta in the way! Waiting for a scan today or tomorrow to double check things as it's procedure in my hospital to have one if you've been in for RM twice. All was ok last night though so fingers crossed, trying not to be anxious Confused
Hope everyone else is getting on ok despite the aches and pains! Flowers

peanutbutter310 · 13/02/2017 10:27

TopKitty Some evenings I have excruciating rib pain, other times completely fine. Seems to be related to her position at the time.

TopKittyKat · 13/02/2017 10:55

Thanks Pink and Peanut

That gives me home that she will shift position and this will pass. I've had it for about a week now! Hmm

Pink - sorry to hear you've been in hospital for reduced movement. I'm glad they reassured you that everything is ok. That's nice that you will get an extra scan to see your baby (although I'm sure you would have preferred not to have the worry in the first place!).

peanutbutter310 · 13/02/2017 12:25

TopKitty When it gets bad I either sit kneeling on the floor leaning forward (so I'm on all fours, but with elbows on the ground), or sit in my exercise ball. Doesn't always work, but sometimes that's enough to get her to move.

fairraid · 13/02/2017 12:33

Hi, I'm board hopping from the October board with a quick question if you don't mind.

Are we still allowed to use bleach to clean with during the first trimester? My cousin told me last week that the fumes are not good and to avoid using during the first trimester.

everdene · 13/02/2017 13:35

Everyone should make sure the room is well-ventilated when using bleach anyway, so don't worry Fairraid.

HLBug · 13/02/2017 14:15

Fairraid sounds like a great excuse to get DH/P to do all the cleaning! Seriously though, if you keep the room very well ventilated and wear some marigolds I'm sure you'll be fine.

Some people try and adopt a very chemical free life during pregnancy but others carry on regardless. I've changed shampoo / shower gel as I could honestly smell the chemicals in the ones I had as soon as I got pregnant - Neals Yard stuff is now costing me a bloody fortune but at least it doesn't make me feel sick every time I use it!

What I wouldn't give for a few chemicals at the moment though - DS has lovingly passed on a really horrid cold that has left me with no voice for 3 days running! Pharmacist laughed at me when I asked what I could take...and just pointed to the halls soothers. Great... 9 weeks to go.... Confused

jpeg28 · 13/02/2017 15:07

Glad everything was ok Pinkunicorn I've been in a couple of times too because of anterior placenta... it's so annoying!! All the ladies at NCT go on about active babies and being woken up in the night with kicks... I never get that!! It's nice to get another look at baby though!

In terms of bleach... I used it as an excuse that OH had to do all cleaning. Grin

abeandhalo · 13/02/2017 19:08

My PGP has been horrendous this weekend, so as it's one of the recommendations I went for a walk in the pool tonight & my god I feel like a new person. It was like someone had just lifted the bump weight off me for half an hour, it was a joy! Wonder if it will stop me being up for an hour in the night leaning over the bed in agony? Can only hope!

peanut2017 · 13/02/2017 21:57

Just an update on the cleaner (totally not pregnancy related) but husband text her to say we will give her a chance to return the camera and bracelet - he was at home painting the baby's room and can you believe it but she rocked up in the afternoon with her brother and returned the camera - no bracelet! Said she was in a bad way! Imagine at least we got it back.

For the spd pain I found Physio helped, I do about 10 minutes of exercises every morning and evening really help. On the gym ball, then on the yoga mat, massage ball also helps. Doing Pilates, yoga and love the aqua aerobics! Water bottle on my back and cold peas on the front.

Not sleeping great myself! Really felt down about it on Saturday as I struggle on during the week and my weekends are sometimes ruined then as I'm so tired! Balled my eyes out crying on Saturday but felt a great release and felt much better yesterday. Said to my boss today that I need to look at working from home a bit - said this was fine although she doesn't like people working from home

abeandhalo · 14/02/2017 06:59

Peanut what exercises were you doing on your ball in the morning?

PinkUnicorn1990 · 14/02/2017 07:04

Glad you got some of your stuff back at least peanut
Jpeg growth scan all good thankfully, she was just obviously being a little monkey and hiding behind the placenta the other night! Was lovely to see her again on the scan, she has long legs and was holding onto her toes Grin

peanut2017 · 14/02/2017 07:52

Abe I do pelvic tilts back and forth first, then side to side, then circular rolls (change direction), bounce on the ball.

Get on the yoga mat and get into child's pose (great position), then on all floors some more pelvic tilts.

Get on back and bring legs in air, knees in and do movements inwards and then outwards. Then lay each leg on opposite knee to stretch it out.

Still on floor do 10 breathing exercises fully in tummy (goes up) and then let out a sigh

Get pillow between legs & squeeze for s few seconds and then release

Get spiky massage ball onto areas like back of calves, bum, lower back & let ball rotate & then hold in position to release pain

Then do a few squats Smile

Hope it helps

purpleviolet1 · 14/02/2017 08:28

Quite a regime peanut thanks for sharing!

jpeg28 · 14/02/2017 09:18

That's so cute unicorn that she was holding her toes!!! Ours has long legs too!! Glad it all went well. I just saw the GP and said I still didn't have a pattern for movement. I told her that yesterday he was quiet, this morning he is active. She wasn't worried just say go with my gut and go to MAU if I am ever worried. These babies are already cheeky hiding behind our placentas!!

Peanut thanks for the exercises... I need to try some of these!! My hips are soooo painful at night now. Slept sat up on the sofa last night!!

abeandhalo · 14/02/2017 12:48

Thanks, Peanut. I can barely walk at the moment so might be a bit beyond me but will definitely give it my best shot!

XxBecxX · 14/02/2017 21:40

Wonder how scandimanny and luchi's babies are getting on x

marmitecheesetoast · 14/02/2017 21:45

Another one here who is barely sleeping - thanks to hip pain and IT band/outer thigh pain. Don't know if PGP though?! Midwife has referred me for physio anyway but who knows how long that will take... sympathies to all those suffering! Exercises and stretches sound good Peanut thanks for sharing. I used to use those spiky balls to release tension at pilates, they are painful, in a good way!

That is crazy about the cleaner Peanut Hmm

Glad to hear everything was ok Pink, such a worry though.

I've got a scan tomorrow to see if my placenta has moved. It was partially covering the cervix at 20 weeks... really hope it has moved... Bit nervous. But excited too as hoping for another glimpse of baby! Presuming they look at the baby too and not just the placenta?! Has anyone else had placenta location scan?

everdene · 14/02/2017 21:54

After Marmite's mention of an appointment I checked my notes and have made a GP appt for Thursday Confused totally escaped me that I should have booked that! So v helpful!

I was so tired today, I keep getting cramp at night. Going to have a banana and do some stretches to see if that helps.

Hayls17 · 15/02/2017 21:21

marmite I've only just seen this so you will have already had your scan by now, but yes I had a scan at 28 weeks to check if the placenta had moved and luckily mine has. Was nice to see baby again on scan! How did you get on with yours?

marmitecheesetoast · 16/02/2017 08:12

Thanks Hayls though turns out I obviously had some sort of baby brain meltdown as it turns out my appointment wasn't yesterday at all but next Wednesday!! Blush not sure how I managed that, have obviously had the wrong date in my diary for weeks! At least we realised before leaving for hospital!! Great news that yours had moved!

purpleviolet1 · 16/02/2017 08:36

Hi everyone, thread been fairly quiet! I am totally counting the days! Just the next two weeks left at work at which point I'll be 36 weeks. Looking forward to finishing up but I've got a list of things I would like to do before baby arrives. Nothing major just some tidying up.

I'm finding it harder to sleep , some nights just tossing and turning loads no matter how much I try and get comfy.

Got a UTI at the moment which isn't helping as I'm going to the toilet loads. My diabetes is also not greatly controlled and im on metformin (2) and insulin (4 units) with my evening meal.

Been having period like cramps as well and spoke to midwife yesterday who said they could be BH but I don't feel the tightness that people often describe?

Hope everyone is ok! I know this is an April thread but is anyone else more likely to deliver in march? My due date was 31st march but because of GD they may consider induction from around 17th when I'll be 38 weeks.
