My 20 week scan went well. No obvious anomalies were found so I feel like I can get a bit more excited now! I've got a 28 week growth scan in early April due to my BMI.

Great news Kit

Sorry I've been a bit quiet, am guilty of being a bit of a lurker, more due to the fact that I don't have anything worthwhile to post ha ha. We had our private gender scan last week and found out we're having another little boy.

I've got my 20 week scan a week on Monday. Really looking forward to it as they spend a lot of time scanning you to get all the measurements and the photos are so much clearer than the 12w ones. At my gender scan at 16w my bladdder was so full as they were running late she told me to literally completely empty it as it was squashing the baby! They performed the scan perfectly despite this, even with me having lots of extra layers of tummy flab! When I had my 20w scan with DS1 I remember she told me off for not having a full enough bladder, now I know what rubbish that is as you can do it on a completely empty one!

I've currently got sinusitis so feeling sorry for myself. Not getting any sleep due to the congestion sitting on my chest and throat, plus my sciatica is really playing up at night on my legs. Tried with a dream geni pillow my SIL leant me for a couple of weeks but last night I think I slept better without it.

Good news on the 20 weeks scans Sea and Kits - I've got 2.5 weeks until mine yet!

Great news about the strong heartbeat too Drew!

It looks like my bleeding has finally stopped - touch wood! Nothing since the weekend - just in time for Valentine's Day

Got the results back from my quad-blood test today and low risk for Downs and Spina Bifida so that's good.

Should probably start doing stuff / buying stuff soon. I have booked an appointment for someone to come out to measure and discuss carpets so that's a start I suppose!

That's great news kits good luck to anyone else with scans this week. I'm off for a v day curry!

I have a bit of a sling problem (as in, of the buying too many kind). So it was rather inevitable that my first baby purchase was going to be a sling! I've got a friend coming round tomorrow to sell me her hardly-used Connecta Solar for half the price of a new one. Marvellous.

20 week scan today. We're so excited to see the little one again. Hopefully we get to find out the gender so I can start buying

Sea that mammoth is adorable!

Congrats Daisy on the little gentleman.

My newborn attachment for highchair arrived today, set it up and it's very cute. We always eat in the dining room so think it'll be handy having somewhere to bring baby to table height.

I had an occupational health assessment at work today which resulted in an order for a new chair with a deeper seat and coccyx cut out, new wireless sideways design mouse and keyboard, an electronic desk that raises to standing height and raisers for all my monitors. It's been installed in a fortnight so hopefully will help with my pelvic pain and carpal tunnel. I suspect my boss will not be so delighted with the bill.

Bawbles that is really good that they have made those changes. Daisy congratulations on your little boy and that the scan went well.

I have just found out that they don't run the antenatal classes anymore. They are in the transition period where they are trying to get them done online instead but they haven't started yet. Now I am in limbo about what to do. Either pay £230 for the antenatal classes. My midwife did give me a leaflet of a couple of former midwives who run similar classes for about £120.

The £230 are the NCT classes not the antenatal classes

I've paid for NCT and spread the payments. It works out much more affordable that way. I've got enough in savings to pay, but prefer to keep it in savings until I need to buy nursery things etc. DH is coming too, and we're quite looking forward to them :)

Would anyone who's had the 20 week scan be interested in comparing measurements? I was fascinated by the list of measurements they printed out and just curious to see if mine is broadly average sized. I'll start:

Head circumference 18.2cm
Abdominal circumference 15.3cm
Femur length 3.33cm
Estimated fetal weight 356g

That was at scan at 20+4.
