Ah Sea I remember the nightmare of your 12 week scan. It was a tense time as you waited for the results. Hope the 20wk scan goes well. I thought I was nervous but I think I was more excited than nervous. I had felt her (feels weird saying this instead of baby) moving a couple of hrs before I woke up.

Seahawk80 · 11/02/2017 10:23

Thanks not I'm trying to focus on the fact that several major problems have already been ruled out. I feel the baby move most days now but it's such a subtle movement, I only know it's baby from talking to my sister about it - she assumed her first was indigestion for weeks!

LuciBee231015 · 11/02/2017 16:51

Fingers crossed for your scan Sea

So I just bought and collected the Mamas & Papas 'Sienna' nursery furniture set... from ebay for £280! It's still £700+ in Mamas & Papas at the moment. In great condition! Just need to get a new mattress for the cot bed. We are starting the nursery next week so hopefully should all be pretty much finished in 2-3 weeks time. Just got to cope with furniture everywhere until then! Couldn't miss out on a bargain like that though!

glitterglitters · 12/02/2017 09:04

People talking about weird dreams, this is a bit of an embarrassing one but is anybody finding themselves dreaming about their ex/exes? I've been with my husband for 8 years and am very happy but I'm having, and i had this a bit in my last pregnancy, really vivid dreams about bumping into my ex etc. I've not seen them in 11 years and don't particularly want to see them and it's bugging the hell out of me. 😤 bloody hormones and brain reworking

glitterglitters · 12/02/2017 09:05

Rewiring even

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 12/02/2017 10:56

Good luck for your scan Sea, I can imagine how nerve wracking it is.

Exactly half way for me today according to ovia, 4 and half months to go. Seems like ages but I know it isn't!

Seahawk80 · 12/02/2017 11:30

Thanks thumbs I'm just terrible at waiting, exactly 24 hours to go! We're having an extra heart scan too so lots to worry about but equally lots of reassurance if it's all fine xx

Bawbles · 12/02/2017 19:39

Good luck for tomorrow sea

Seahawk80 · 12/02/2017 19:55

Thanks - I'm a bit more chilled now that it's actually tomorrow and no more days at work to get through. I'll let you all know how it went tomorrow afternoon

LuciBee231015 · 13/02/2017 07:07

Good luck Sea xx

rhodes2015 · 13/02/2017 08:06

Good lucky today sea!

rhodes2015 · 13/02/2017 08:06

*luck not lucky!!

CatRash · 13/02/2017 08:23

Good luck Sea! Will you be finding out the sex?

Seahawk80 · 13/02/2017 08:40

Thanks everyone- should be done around 3 so I'll let you know. Am not finding out the sex although I think maybe that's why I'm so worried as I'm seeing it just as a medical test

jld128 · 13/02/2017 09:11

good luck today sea xx

Spindelina · 13/02/2017 09:35

Good luck, Seahawk.

Notyetthere · 13/02/2017 12:54

Good luck Sea. Even without finding out the sex, you will be in awe by lots of other things going on with you baby. The heart and clearly seeing the 4 chambers, the leg bones were also very fascinating. Dh really liked watching the fingers moving and you could see the individual finger bones which also amazing. Or even better, ours decided to punch themselves on the foreheadGrin

I have just had the whooping cough jab. The nurse had to double check as I was the earliest (20+2) she has ever had to administer. She wasn't sure about the recent changes in advise and that we can now have it from 16 weeks. Anyway, all is good here, baby has been kicking away more today than ever before. I have a posterior placenta so I am assuming that I will feel the kicks more very soon.

Seahawk80 · 13/02/2017 14:33

All was fine, thanks for the well wishes. Baby wouldn't move into right position and the doctor was really weird which made it an odd experience but just glad all is ok Grin

rhodes2015 · 13/02/2017 15:10

That's great news sea!!

Notyetthere · 13/02/2017 15:36

Sea glad all is ok. Anybody else started on their nursery? Apart from knowing what we want to put in it, we haven't started yet. We have ordered the chest if drawers that will go in it as we want to spread the cost of baby things over the next few months. We hope to buy the cotbed next month and the travel system around April/May.

OP posts:
LuciBee231015 · 13/02/2017 15:50

We are getting our nursery wallpapered and painted on Monday of next week, then I will order the carpet. I have my furniture already, got that this weekend. Can't wait until it all comes together.

Sea, so glad you are all ok! Relax and enjoy now!

Not, did your midwife book you in for that jab? My midwife has never mentioned any jabs?

TinklingTheIvories · 13/02/2017 16:34

Fantastic news sea!

Luci - I had a leaflet about mine, and I'm booked in for whooping cough. It can be done for anytime from 20 weeks up until (I think) 38.

LuciBee231015 · 13/02/2017 16:37

Ohh I'm seeing my midwife in a couple of weeks so will ask her then.

Notyetthere · 13/02/2017 17:18

Luci yes my midwife booked me in for the jab at the 16 week appointment. She ensured to book it in right after the 20 wk scan. The advice has only recently come in as it demonstrated by my nurse who was unsure as to why I would be having so early in my pregnancy. I believe she mentioned from wherever she was reading it from that the vaccine might not be as effective if you have it after 32 wks.

Dh got a moment of enthusiasm about 3wks ago to start on the nursery and I persuaded him not to start until after the 20 wk scan. He now seems not to have much enthusiasm; maybe when he finally shifts his cough he will start on it.

Since he found out that we are having a girl, he has all over sudden got a desire to do more pink/princess type things. He now thinks that the lovely neutral pallete we had planned is not cute enough for his pfb dd. lol

OP posts:
Spindelina · 13/02/2017 18:44

I'm of a generation of children where a vaccine scare meant many (including me) were unvaccinated. By the time my brother (3yrs younger) was born, it had all blown over and he got the vaccine. When I was seven, whooping cough went through my school. I was off for two months. The baby sister of one of my classmates - too young to have the vaccine herself - was very very ill indeed. So glad this programme is running.

The vaccine provokes an immunological reaction in the mother, and the antibodies (not the vaccine, but the mother's reaction to it) are passed to the fetus. That's why it's best to have it before 32 weeks - gives time for that response to happen and for the antibodies to transfer.
