Glad it's not just me! Ha ha!

jld128 · 05/02/2017 19:00

mine are itchy and sore but not crusty they've changed colour though gone very dark is that normal?

Notyetthere · 05/02/2017 19:35

jd yes the darkness is normal. That is what my app says. I can't tell whether mine are darker as I have dark skin.

cat just checked me over. Pregnancy is the scariest thing I have done in my life. Having no control over anything is awful. Been resting up today and had no more recurrences

Seahawk80 · 05/02/2017 20:05

That sounds scary daisy glad you're ok.

I'm really struggling with believing that everything is ok. I have a week to go until my 20 week scan so not long but I think it's going to be a long week! I'm so tempted to book a scan for after work one night but I can't keep doing that and I need to manage my anxiety.

DrewOB0 · 06/02/2017 08:56

Morning all!
I might have to ask for seats on my commute, apparently if you are standing you're fair game for slamming, throwing out of the way etc.

LuciBee231015 · 06/02/2017 09:32

Oh Drew! I used to hate my commute to London for that reason! Have you got a badge?

Hope everyone is good today. Daisy and Cat, hope your still taking it easy ladies!

I have my scan on Wednesday, can't wait to see bubba again! Still not felt any movement in the past 2 days, hoping everything is ok and baby has just moved positions and I can't feel it as much. Still early on for movements so I'm not too worried.

DrewOB0 · 06/02/2017 09:35

Yes , the badge works in the evening but in the morning rush, people are nasty!

Beeblossombee · 06/02/2017 12:14

Not sure how this works exactly - my EDD is 10/07/17 - Can I join? Smile

CatRash · 06/02/2017 13:37

Welcome Bee!!!

Oh exciting about the scan Luci! Bet you can't wait!!

I'm still bleeding dark brown / black blood. It was quite heavy again early hours of Sunday morning :S It's really weird as it's always heaviest at night and always follows periods of being really, really unusually tired. I wonder if it just follows periods of sudden growth or something?! Who knows!!

I caved and bought a doppler - luckily I can easily tell difference between baby and placenta thanks to the midwife who listened in last week. It's lovely being able to 'check in' with bubs!

Lostmyemailaddress · 06/02/2017 13:47

cat I had bleeding like that with my last pregnancy it was on and off until I was 5 and half months gone. Nothing was ever found to be cause but ds4 was born happy and healthy.
I've just come back from my 1st structure scan everything looking how it should. It was a consultant who did the scan due to previous problems that had been flagged up. She had a peek and thinks this 1 is a girl only 4 weeks before we can have another look to be sure.

Notyetthere · 06/02/2017 13:51

Oh Cat it must be a worrying time but at least the doppler is giving you lots of reassurance for now till you next scan. I read somewhere that some women have a period every cycle throughout their pregnancies. I haven't come across this but it could explain why some never find out about being pregnant until 6/7/8 months gone.

Drew definitely try and ask for a seat. I can normally stand all the way (only 30mins on train) because I have a desk job so I could do with not sitting for a while but I have concerns about people bashing into me or if driver brakes suddenly. I don't wear the badge much unless if there are delays and the platform is packed.

Sea I had moments like that with not believing everything is OK. I think you are very close to feeling to starting to feel some form of movement so hopefully that will give you some comfort. You are only 1 wk behind me and I feel the flutters.

Bee welcome to the thread.

rhodes2015 · 06/02/2017 14:09

Cat, I caved just before 16weeks and bought a Doppler, totally understand why people advise not to but for me it really stops me being an anxious mess! I find heartbeat every time and can easily tell placenta from heartbeat. I'm glad it's made you feel better!
Welcome to the thread bee!
I have had definite movement over the weekend. I had felt it before but just odd nudges! But she was very active on Saturday.
Ah luci looking forward to hearing about your scan Wednesday!

Beeblossombee · 06/02/2017 18:02

I was just wondering whether to buy a doppler! I havent felt any movement yet and still not showing - I'm fed up of no news from my body!

LuciBee231015 · 06/02/2017 18:45

Just had some movement, feeling better now! It's defo changed position as I can feel it quite low now, was higher before. That's made me feel better after a quiet couple of days in there

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 07/02/2017 11:04

I think I may have started to feel movement, 19+4 today. I wasn't sure at first but I have had like a rythmic tapping on my left side mid stomach which felt a tiny bit sore but I think the mild pain (and I really mean mild) is probably because of everything stretching. Counting down til Friday for my scan!

DrewOB0 · 07/02/2017 11:07

I had really sore kicks in the bladder last night. Nearly 16 weeks here.

Hazlulu · 07/02/2017 13:04

Hullo all, glad those who are experiencing blood/mucus are getting checked out quickly and all appears to be okay.

I had my 16-week appointment this morning at 17+2. Got to listen to the heartbeat which was nice. Given the initial emphasis on weight management I was surprised not to be weighed - and I'd specifically worn really lightweight clothing! Grin

We caved and went for a gender scan at the weekend. We are having a boy! DH very happy and is already anticipating lego-related presents. The sonographer briefly switched to 3D but he was firmly keeping his back to us as the scan photo shows.

We haven't bought anything yet but have briefly stepped into the mad world of prams and am overwhelmed by the choice Confused

rhodes2015 · 07/02/2017 13:42

Arh congratulations on your baby boy hazlulu!! We caved at 16+4 and had gender scan too (having a girl)
3D scan pic is still really good though!

LuciBee231015 · 07/02/2017 14:21

Hazlulu, ahhh baby boy! How exciting!! Love the picture, even if it is of his back, it's amazing!!

Notyetthere · 07/02/2017 14:57

Haz that scan pic is great!I am always amazed as to how well formed baby at this point.
They don't weigh at 16 wks as they appreciate that different women will gain weight at different rates so no benchmark to measure us by. My midwife did say that she would measure my weight if there was another sign to be concerned about like when she tested my urine, one of the tests checks for sugars and proteins, if they found sugar then maybe she would checked to see if anything is untoward.

Anybody going to the mamas and papas new parent event? I have booked myself onto the 6-8pm one on Thursday at Stratford Westfield. Someone mentioned it on MSE and that they enjoyed it. I am also a sucker for a goody bag. I have my 20 wk scan on Friday and plan to hit the shops (Mothercare, mamas&papas, Ikea) Lakeside after the scan. Luci one more sleep for you till you scan.

OP posts:
LuciBee231015 · 07/02/2017 15:49

I'm going to the Mothercare event in about 3 weeks time. No idea what it will be like but thought we'd give it a try.

To be honest I don't know what to buy next?! I have pram and car seat, electric steriliser, bouncer and bath which were both hand me downs. I have the wallpaper for the baby's room just need to start stripping the walls etc in there...

My friends are chipping in for Moses basket I think.

I want a monitor and angelcare monitor for under mattress but will have to wait to get those as they are expensive.

Oh and nursery furniture! Hoping the in laws may help with one of the expensive bits to be honest.

Is there anything else apart from the usual muslin and clothes etc that I can pick up as I go along.

Also, what are your thoughts on water wipes? Apparently you can use them from newborn instead of cotton wool and water. I know a few people that have used them and baby has been just fine.

So excited for my scan tomorrow!!!!! Have felt kicking on and off all day today too which has been really nice, only normally notice it when I'm laying on the sofa or in bed. Will update you tomorrow with scan info! 😬

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 07/02/2017 15:54

I'm going to a mothercare event in a couple of weeks, I think we are going for the new mothercare Journey travel system so hoping to order it on the night and maybe even save some money, although at £299 its already at a decent price. I dont know if it's because I don't look pregnant enough but everytime I've been to mamas and papas I've felt snubbed, I've been to a couple of different branches and they have all been quite rude, so I won't be going back unfortunately!

rhodes2015 · 07/02/2017 16:14

Arh Not, i haven't got a mamas and papas near me, I would like to go to one of their events though but we would have to go all the way to Manchester as that's our closest.

I did buy a big haul from there in the jan sale online.....it's not coming until 20feb!!! didn't actually realise that when I ordered it mid-jan! Oh well not like I need it yet and my DH still hasn't plastered the room, said he might do it this weekend but I'm not gonna put my money on it.
