We're waiting until we move. Should be in the next month or so. There's a baby show in Birmingham at the NEC so we're thinking of checking that out and getting ideas/bits from there. We've got a few months to save that way and it won't clutter up the house. We can also get the nursery painted first. Really looking forward to planning it all!

Kitsandkids · 31/01/2017 20:21

We've bought the pram and that's it. I only bought that because the one I wanted came up at a decent price on a second hand site.

I'm going to wait until after my 20 week scan (in 2 weeks), then make a list and go from there. I'm not superstitious but I want to be told that things are likely to be ok with the baby before I get loads of stuff as if anything terrible were to happen I'd hate to have to see the stuff afterwards and be reminded of what could have been, if you see what I mean. (I realise that's probably really pessimistic of me but hopefully all will be well at the 20 week scan and then I can go shopping!)

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 31/01/2017 20:25

Ive got Moses basket, bouncer and a few little bits so far that I picked up in the sales. I want to wait until my 20 week scan to buy pushchair and things but my hand may be forced as the one I'm most considering seems to have reduced massively in stock recently and I'm getting a bit nervous!

CatRash · 31/01/2017 20:29

This Thursday I have my 16 week midwife appointment (at 15 weeks) so at least I'll get a chance to ask a few more questions.

Fantastic news Spind! How long did your results take? I have my quad blood test next week.

I haven't really bought anything yet apart from some storage tins for the nursery and some baby clothes!!

We did book our last 'kid free' holiday last night though, just a week in Spain to keep costs down but I've never been to Spain before so looking forward to it!

TinklingTheIvories · 31/01/2017 20:36

Cat - which part of Spain? We're normally big travellers, but have put a hold on it all to save money and pay off credit cards. Definitely try the tapas! So much choice and we loved grazing throughout the day.

CatRash · 31/01/2017 20:59

Salou in Costa Dorado....No idea what it's like! We booked purely on price as got a cracking full board deal so hopefully won't spend much there. I looove tapas so very much looking forward to the food.

We should probably be saving and paying off the credit card too but I'm working a few extra days in the next couple of months so feel like I can justify it Grin

Seahawk80 · 31/01/2017 21:03

I went to Salou when I was 18 cat my first grown up holiday! I remember it being lovely. A kid free holiday is a good plan, 3 1/2 weeks til mine - I can't wait!

Spindelina · 31/01/2017 21:22

Cat they said two weeks in the post if low risk; mine took ten days (test on Sat, results in post today).

We have bought absolutely nothing. But I don't think we need much.

I do need to think about clothes for work. At the moment I'm just in my 'fat' clothes; when I was pg with DD I was a student then a postdoc, so I didn't need to be presentable.

Kitsandkids · 31/01/2017 21:25

Is anybody still feeling very tired? It's been pretty much my only symptom, tiredness, but I thought I was getting a bit of energy back recently. But both yesterday and today I've napped for at least 2 hours (3 today and still felt exhausted when I had to get up) and now I'm in bed as I felt too tired to stay up any longer!

Seahawk80 · 31/01/2017 21:32

kits yes! I had loads of energy until this week, now I feel like I've been run over by a bus!

CatRash · 31/01/2017 21:40

That's good to know sea! Oooh lucky you - where are you off to?

I really need to think about maternity work wear to Spind - tops are ok but trousers are all getting seriously tight!

Notyetthere · 31/01/2017 21:48

Kits I don't feel tired anymore. That was 1st trimester when I felt very tired all the time. However, SIL was tired throughout her pregnancy so I guess it is different for everyone.

I have just felt baby move. This time there is no doubt about it. It started as gentle nudges like the twitch you get on your eyelids but just now it was a firm nudge. Like a fish swimming in a tank and bashing into the walls.

Notyetthere · 31/01/2017 21:49

18+3 today.

OP posts:
thumbsupforthesixbillion · 01/02/2017 07:26

Yay for those that are feeling movement already! I'm so impatient now, I thought I felt baby a week or so ago and nothing since, depite my pleading requests with the baby, much to Dhs amusement! 18 + 5 today and sporting a definite bump and slouch, I haven't been able to straighten my back out for weeks!

Lallypopstick · 01/02/2017 07:59

Not does the cocoonababy fit in the Snuzpod? I'm keen on getting both too, but I think I posted before that I wasn't sure if it would fit. Do you get specially fitted blankets for it too?

I have my 16 week midwife appointment today (16+4). I would love to hear the heartbeat but I'm not sure they'll offer. I think there's a student there today so they might be more willing to try for me!

DrewOB0 · 01/02/2017 08:20

Morning all! Can we have a napping room? I just feel like I'm either sleeping or wishing I was.
I started getting the linea nigra yesterday, unexpectedly!

Kitsandkids · 01/02/2017 08:42

I am sooo lucky I'm a foster carer with school aged foster kids. Means I can nap to my heart's content during school hours! 😜 But I would like to be doing something a bit more useful some of the time!

LuciBee231015 · 01/02/2017 09:31

I felt baby again last night too. DH's hand was on my belly and it was poking his hand, but he couldn't feel it! Then pokes continued to wake me up during the night, although I didn't mind that, actually quite liked it. It's the best feeling isn't it.

I'm 20 weeks on Friday, got my 20 week scan next weds though.

For those looking for work trousers, I got over the bump ones from next, amazingly comfy and you'd never tell they are maternity trousers either, think they were something like £24, so not too bad really.

Notyetthere · 01/02/2017 12:14

Lally Yes the cocoon fits in the snuzpod. I intend to also have the cocoon downstairs and in the garden (wishfully hoping for good weather outside with baby).

Luci I am still freaked out by the movement. It will definitely take some getting used to. I jumped off the sofa when I felt the baby poking yesterday. I had more movement in bed last night and I put my fingers in the same spot and baby poked back! Still freaked out but very reassuring nonetheless.

You know that movie Alien where you see the creature crawling under the patient's skin before exploding out and attacking the scientists? That is the image the babies movements bring to my mind!Shock

OP posts:
Seahawk80 · 01/02/2017 13:05

So jealous of the movements! Am 18+3 today and still nothing. Could do with the reassurance, am counting down the days to the 20 week scan.

Notyetthere · 01/02/2017 13:53

Sea hope you feel some movement soon. I have felt the gentle nudges for a couple of weeks now but could not really confirm that they were baby movements, until last night. You probably already have sort of movement but it so slight that you could miss it. I had just shared a large bar of chocolate with DH when the movement started about an hour later. It must be true, sugar causes a lot of excitement.

OP posts:
bluebird1235 · 01/02/2017 14:35

Had my 16 week appointment today. All good and she even managed to find two different heartbeats! Not much else happened though.

I think I can feel them moving. Feels a bit like someone is tickling the inside of my belly! DH keeps trying to feel but nothing on the outside yet.

Lallypopstick · 01/02/2017 14:42

Bluebird I'm jealous - I had my 16 weeks but they said they wouldn't listen to the heartbeat until my next one (25 weeks). Ages!

not thanks for the cocoonababy advice. I'm hoping the same as you - that I can move it around and take it places with me. Considering a Moses basket downstairs (hand me down) for during the day with the mattress in.

TinklingTheIvories · 01/02/2017 16:32

I think I've felt the movement - it's like little bubbles. DH felt it too last night so I wasn't imagining it. Was just after drinking a proper cold glass of water too. They're so subtle the movements though.

Lallypopstick · 01/02/2017 19:16

Well girls, we've all been upstaged by Beyoncé with her announcement that she's pregnant with twins!
