Just checked out my belly in the mirror (please tell me I'm not the only one who does this a lot) and was surprised to see linea nigra there already (only 14+2 and very fair skinned)!! DH could see it too (as I did wonder if it was just me!)

TinklingTheIvories · 28/01/2017 20:14

Cat - I do it pretty much every day. I'm starting to get a bump and love it!

glitterglitters · 28/01/2017 23:15

I've not got a linea negra yet but with #1 I had by now my biggest fear is my belly button popping out. I'm terrified of belly buttons and can't stand the thought of someone touching mine 🙈

Our dd is moving to the (old) master bedroom (we had a loft conversion so now that's the master bedroom. We're painting her new room lavender and getting her a double divan bed in grey cotton, grey carpet etc with a view to putting white shutters in later. Bit grown up for an almost two year old but saves us having to redecorate a babyish room later on and she's obsessed with purple. Her current room, the nursery, is staying as is. It's bright green with white monkey and tree decals and pine furniture. Sounds weird but looks awesome x

jld128 · 29/01/2017 00:40

do some people not get a linea negra? i can't see one i'm 15+5

Spindelina · 29/01/2017 07:43

No linea negra and no stretch marks with DD1!

Notyetthere · 29/01/2017 10:03

From what I understand we all have a linea negra but it depends on how much melanin pigmentation you have. Basically if you usually tan easily then your line will probably pop very soon but if you are fair then you might not see it all but it's there. Same pigmentation that makes your areolas darker. oh thank you very much i was getting a bit worried haha

LuciBee231015 · 29/01/2017 10:52

So think I had some more movement last night. Was laying watching a film on the sofa and felt a couple of nudges 😍 Still very gentle, but noticeable all the same. Can't wait for them to get more regular and stronger so DH can feel them.

I'm convinced it's a girl. Not finding out but I just think baby is a girl for some reason 🙈

whatsinaname11 · 29/01/2017 11:06

Morning, Can I join in? 17 weeks +1 - Baby boy due 11th July. Currently living abroad, but moving back home in 3 weeks (yay)!

No real bump yet, just the 'are you pregnant or have you just had a big dinner' look! This week has brought back the period type cramps I had for the first three months Sad

CatRash · 29/01/2017 13:55

Glad to hear I'm not alone Tinkling!!!

Oh glitter the thought of it creeps me out too!! I really hope it doesn't happen. I read somewhere that the less belly fat you have the more likely it is to happen - not sure how true that is though!!! If it is then I have a new found love for my spare tyre!!

The thought of my stomach muscles separating makes me shudder too!

Yeah I'm surprised I can mine Not (I googled it after seeing it) as I'm that fair I'm practically translucent and my skin doesn't know what a tan is - i go a beautiful shade of pink which quickly fades back to white. My dad is olive skinned so I kind of hope baby takes after him (unlike me!).

I imagine it's an amazing feeling Luci! I can't wait!

Welcome to the thread whatsin!!

Notyetthere · 29/01/2017 15:27

Cat Yes that is also my biggest cringe fear. Separated muscles!

I just had a bath and looked in the mirror and I can see the faintest hint of my lines negra and I remembered mine is wonky 😂 it's like slightly off side so I've been looking in the wrong place.

LuciBee231015 · 29/01/2017 16:48

Ladies, had my first major kick! I played music in my phone and put the speaker part on my belly, baby literally kicked the phone! It was so amazing I cried my eyes out! Such an amazing feeling! ...tried to do it again for DH but no luck.

I have no sign of a linea negra but I'm fair too.

Does anyone get burning nipples? I get it sometimes and it's agony, then seems to fade after a while.

Seahawk80 · 29/01/2017 17:41

Luci I get the nipple pain, every time I get cold or even just a change in temperature. I've been in tears with the pain!

glitterglitters · 29/01/2017 17:56

Just started feeling kicks tonight! 😍😍😍

DaisyQueen · 29/01/2017 18:41

I still can't feel any movement. I thought seeing as this is our 3rd I would be feeling something by now. 20 week scan isn't until 15th Feb and my midwife never listened for heartbeat at 16 wk so I'm starting to feel slightly anxious.

mummycaitlin · 29/01/2017 20:26

A couple of weeks ago I was feeling the baby move about three times a day. I've hardly felt anything since then (now 15+5). Sometimes it stresses me out but I try to remember it's still super early and with DS1 I didn't feel him until 20 weeks and that was still very faint. My placenta is also at the front again this time and have a big layer of fat in the way ha ha.

No line here but one half of my belly is hairier... sexy.

We've spent the last couple of weekends clearing out our (DHs) office in our smallest room. DS1 will move into that as his bedroom as the new baby will have his old room as it's big enough for the changing table and chair then. Trying to not over do it and lift too much but I hate not being able to help organise!

Private gender scan is next Saturday, it can't come quickly enough I'm sooooo impatient!

TinklingTheIvories · 29/01/2017 20:34

I've just had DH looking at my belly. There's a faint line, but some definite stretch marks! Cue the cocoa butter! Didn't think I'd get them this early, though my belly is bigger than I thought it'd be.

bluebird1235 · 29/01/2017 20:45

I gave in and went for a gender scan at the weekend. It felt like such a long time since we'd seen them and couldn't imagine waiting another 4 weeks!! It turns out that they are both boys! DH is over the moon as he really wanted boys. I'm really happy too but think I would have been regardless of what they were! It seems like they're more real now I can think about them as actual little boy babies. So excited.

Also went to an nearly new sale today and picked up a load of bargains. Got two Moses baskets with stands, a bouncy chair, lots of clothes and various other bits all for about £25. Bargain!

Plus I'm pretty sure I can feel them now. Feels like they're tickling me from the inside and get the occasional odd nudge but nothing strong enough for DH to feel yet.

rhodes2015 · 29/01/2017 22:12

Ahh bluebird 2boys how lovely! Congratulations!!

CatRash · 30/01/2017 08:54

Well I've had an interesting morning. Woke up just after 5am with back ache (which isn't unusual for me) and decided to go for a wee to see if that would help me get more comfortable. On wiping I discovered a lot of clotty, dark brown/red blood and there was more in the loo.

I shouted to my DH, rang the hospital and they asked me to come in straight away. Obviously I spent the whole drive there fearing the worst.

We got seen straight away and the midwife used a doppler to try and find the heartbeat. For ages all she could find was my heartbeat or just nothing, just an bleak empty whooshing sound, and at this point I really thought there was no hope.

And then, there it was - beating away normally. The feeling of relief was unreal - I'm crying now just remembering it.

They checked my cervix and that looked fine and I was able to go home and rest up. They don't know why I bled but they said it was old blood.

So today's been an emotional rollercoaster to say the least.

I'm 14+4 btw and currently feeling relieved but still apprehensive.

Kitsandkids · 30/01/2017 09:30

Oh no Cat, I had some bleeding at 11 weeks so know how worried you must have felt! Glad the hospital were able to find the heartbeat and everything is still well. Did they not do a scan as well?

LuciBee231015 · 30/01/2017 10:01

CatRash, hope you are ok, must have been awful. At least you know all is well though. Hope you are resting!

Bluebird, how amazing!!! 2 baby boys! 💙💙

rhodes2015 · 30/01/2017 10:12

That must have been awful cat, glad everything is ok though. Rest up! X
