Thumbs, I've just watched 4episodes on the bounce of one born every minute, which I have never ever before had any desire to watch but spotted reruns on the TV guide on a channel called W I think so put a series link on!
Yep I'm gonna step in to your "still got 6 months to go" denial, with you.

Seahawk80 · 15/01/2017 19:23

Hi Everyone, hope you had a good weekend. I've caved and booked a scan for Tuesday as although my midwife appt is Thursday I'm worried that if they won't / can't listen to the heartbeat I'll be panicking and after Tuesday I have a crazy work schedule until the end of the month so for the sake of £40 I'm going to reassure myself.

Notyetthere · 15/01/2017 20:09

Sea I debated having the Doppler with the midwife because of the same fear, not being able to hear the heartbeat. I too would have paid for a private scan after that appointment if no heartbeat was picked up. I don't blame you.

I'm sure some people enjoy being pregnant but I am not one of them. The constant worry as to whether things are ok; 9 months of that is bound to take its toll. I have had moments of excitement and real good anticipation but sometimes clouded by niggles of worry in the background.

Seahawk80 · 15/01/2017 20:19

I could have written that myself not I would have just waited until after my appt but like a crazy person I'm working 11 days in a row from Wednesday so I just thought why not just use some of that extra pay to reassure myself! I just can't quite believe that it's all going to be ok.

mummycaitlin · 15/01/2017 21:27

Sorry I've been so quiet, been a bit of a lurker but have been reading every day and keeping up with the Facebook group!

My EDD has changed to 18/07 following my scan today as they were finally able to get some measurements. Took forever as this cheeky baby would not keep still and kept doing flips and going on it's tummy. We saw it sick the wall of my uterus and bring its hand up to its face as well as opening its mouth and swallowing, which was nice but odd! They said my placenta is on the front again like last time, which explains why I feel the baby right at the edge of my tummy.

Am 13+5 now and feeling pretty much back 'to normal' with regards to energy levels, appetite and sickness. However my tummy muscles ache so much and get a lot of round ligament pain. I pottered around the house yesterday, cleaned the bathroom, put washing away etc and I was in so much pain! My son keeps wanting me to sit on the floor and race trains but it's just too uncomfortable bless him.

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 16/01/2017 07:09

Has anybody else been getting headaches? I've had a horrible headache since yesterday and sleeping it off didn't work. Possibly worrying about nothing but combined with my blood pressure being a bit high at my last midwife appointment I'm a bit concerned.

Seahawk80 · 16/01/2017 07:16

I had sone bad headaches last week, paracetamol helped but didn't make them go away. I think it's quite normal around now.

I'm really struggling with worrying that something is wrong now. I just feel normal apart from a tiny low down bump and the fact that my nipples are still agony if I get cold that's it. So glad I booked the scan for tomorrow. Please tell me I'm not the only one feeling like this! I stupidly googled and found the one case where it wasn't ok so that didn't help.

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 16/01/2017 07:23

Seahawk I think we are all feeling like that to an extent! Counting down the days to my next scan.

Bawbles · 16/01/2017 07:27

sea I'm feeling pretty normal at the moment apart from pain in my tailbone when I sit for long.

I've been getting some pains in my bump when I cough/sneeze/get up quickly but think it's just the muscles being stretched.

Energy wise I'm fine and sickness has gone, just have frequent bouts of tummy upset but that's how I was in previous pregnancy

Kitsandkids · 16/01/2017 07:28

I had an awful headache yesterday. I was glad my husband was off work to deal with the kids as I pretty much lay on the sofa all day. It feels ok this morning, touch wood. I'm 16+2.

Mawita · 16/01/2017 07:54

Thumbs up, I think with the high blood pressure better call the midwife for advice, might be nothing but worth asking. I had a headache all day yesterday, but I think it's because I over slept... have an amazing week everyone!

Seahawk80 · 16/01/2017 08:25

Thanks all, I feel better now, think it was just a middle of the night panic! Will let you know how tomorrow goes

LuciBee231015 · 16/01/2017 09:20

I have been getting horrid headaches too. No amount of rest or water gets rid of it, but a paracetamol seems to do it. Apart from the odd shooting pain low down and extreme pain when my nips get cold (ouch!!!!!) I feel pretty normal. I get lower back pain only right hand side too, but only really if I have exercised or done the cleaning.

Looking fw to midwife on Friday, I need a top up of reassurance.

Think we are all feeling pretty much the same!

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 16/01/2017 09:23

Im going to get my blood pressure checked out just in case I think, hopefully it's just hormonal headaches but better safe than sorry by the sounds of it.

DaisyQueen · 16/01/2017 10:33

I had a terrible headache on Saturday due to having a lie in, I have low blood pressure and that combined with the bad head makes me awfully dizzy. Midwife app on Wednesday so will have a once over while I'm there

TinklingTheIvories · 16/01/2017 10:46

Babies measuring big. I'm 13+1 according to measurements, but according to me I'm 12+4. It was a little wriggler, first lying in an awkward position then when it woke up, it wouldn't stop moving. DH liked its hands moving as it looked like it was playing guitar!

New due date: 23/7/17

They struggled to get my bloods - looks like I'm just as awkward as baby! But the NT scan looked ok. All booked in for 20 week scan and my GTT.

Fliss1981 · 16/01/2017 11:10

Hey all thanks for your advice had my 16 week appt with midwife and all fine and got a heartbeat straight away which was really reassuring. I couldn't believe it though to be honest.

They have started suggesting a home birth... my first one was insanely quick and I am worried about childcare getting here - but also bit anxious about home birth.

Anyone else thinking of that?

Hope everyone with headaches feels better - I had some awful ones but eased off now. Definitely wasn't drinking enough.

Ps - is their a Facebook group already? How do I join?

DrewOB0 · 16/01/2017 11:44

Morning all,
I started feeling bump this week end. 12+ 2 here.

LuciBee231015 · 16/01/2017 13:05

Tinkling - lovely scan pic! Glad all is well!

Drew - I'm so jel! I can't wait to feel baby. Is this your second? I'm 17 weeks and haven't felt anything yet but eagerly waiting!

Fliss - I'm going for hospital birth, I have it in my head that I would rather be where everything is should something happen. And with regards to birth plan etc... I don't really have one. I wouldn't just like to see how I am when it happens, if I decide I need pain relief so be it but don't have a specific plan. Does anyone else?

Also, DH raised the 'save you or the baby' question last night... made me want to cry! Anyone else had that convo?

bluebird1235 · 16/01/2017 13:23

Has anyone else been feeling faint? I don't normally work in London but have been up here since last Wednesday. When I was on the tube this morning I started feeling all weird, like there wasn't enough oxygen. I started feeling really faint and eventually someone offered me their seat and I sat down and felt fine again. I think maybe I was thirsty and it was a bit hot as it was so packed but it was a bit alarming. I was really starting to zone out when the lady offered me her seat and think I was probably on the verge of passing out. It's got me a bit worried but I feel fine now.

Lovely scan picks tinkling. Mine were quite active too and DH thought it look like it was boxing! I was also measuring big by about 5 days.

LuciBee231015 · 16/01/2017 13:36

Bluebird, I have been getting dizzy, but only if I get up quick etc. I'm lucky enough to drive to work so. It had to experience the trains/tubes!

Spindelina · 16/01/2017 13:59

Yeah, I get dizzy if I get hot / tired / hungry / thirsty / stuffy. I'm a fainter anyway though.

My advice is that it's much less embarrassing to have to say "excuse me, I'm not feeling well, can I sit down / nip out / open the window / get a drink / whatever" than it is to keel over. Having done both more than once.

Fliss1981 · 16/01/2017 14:01

Bluebird I commute and feel dizzy and sick most days - usually demand a seat even though my badge shall hasn't turned up.

Try and have something to nibble on and some water and force someone to give up their seat.

Ps yes I had a birthing centre birth last time - but she arrived in an hour from arrival so given that I now have to worry about childcare too I am concerned about whether we will make it.. or this one could be caught by my husband or born in the car park.

purplebella · 16/01/2017 14:55

I'm planning a home birth. They're so much more relaxed for me. Had family visiting and a cuppa about an hour after the birth and it was lovely and not messy or complicated at all!

Spindelina · 16/01/2017 14:58

DD was born in the hospital where I work. I'd rather not have a home birth - I live in a terraced house with neighbours who are prone to complaint so I wouldn't feel comfortable. And I'm not fazed by clinical environments at all.

I'd go to a midwife led unit if there were one close to where I live, but it'd be half an hour in a taxi - the 5 mins in a taxi to the hospital is quite unpleasant enough, thanks!
