I'm fed up with the Christmas baby comments as well now I even said to my crap midwife that baby either comes out this week or I'm closing my legs for the weekend. She seems to believe I'll be getting a sweep on Saturday and I assure you it won't be happening!

Feeling the Christmas baby pain - especially with a due date of Christmas Day! Ooh I bet you're hoping for a Christmas baby? Why yes of course I am, pushing a baby out is just what I want to do on Christmas Day!

BabyBonkers has lost more weight 🙁 Luckily it was the nice midwife, not the judgy one from Monday. After being told in the hospital he was latching well and tongue tie not likely, she had a quick look and he has a massive obvious one. So that, coupled with the cluster feeding means he's not actually getting much goodness from my milk. She's recommended expressing whilst feeding (which is a bit like the krypton factor!) and topping him up that way, or even with formula whilst we wait our appointment for it to be snipped. Expressing is just shit though. All the faff for minimal output.

But at least it's nothing we're doing wrong.

And I really feel for you overdue ladies

Sorry about the tongue tie Bonkers. At least you know the issue and can get it sorted hope the feeding plan works for you.
So I went to the drs twice. First time refused to treat me just baby. HV sent us back and they eventually gave ds drops and me cream for thrush. I'm using shields but in absolute agony. I really want breast feeding to work, if I could make it work it would be great for us and what I really want but I'm ready to throw the towel in. We were doing so well with it. Baby must be uncomfortable too but he is not making a fuss. Sorry, on a bit of a downer today. Family day was nice but hard to enjoy when in pain.

Thrush is awful, but I did find the cream worked very quickly, within 48 hours I think. DS had thrush when he was talking enough to say if it hurt and it didn't. Apparently the drops were a yummy banana flavour too.

How long will you have to wait for a tongue tie appointment bonkers? It's such a crucial time, it's v annoying it can't be sorted straight away. We waited about a week with DS (UK) and less than an hour with DD (Netherlands).

bonkers that is SO annoying, once you're all settled I'd really consider complaining as that could've massively impacted on both of you hope you don't have to wait too long, I have lots of friends who had them snipped privately as the wait was so bad - 20 odd days

Now 5 days overdue with no signs of baby wanting to come. I will also be crossing my legs now till Monday. I want my xmas dinner. Now feel like I have tried everything curry, pinneapple, sex, walking, raspberry leaf tea the list goes on. Here's to having a Capricorn baby!!!

Yes also 5 days overdue here and don't want baby to appear for Christmas Day. Very fed up now and my DP "just wants me to have a nice Christmas" I think he senses I'm a grumpy cow!

I keep giggling (I blame the hormones) at the thought of all the ladies across the country currently crossing their legs trying to ignore any symptom that could be a sign of impending labour I'm 39 weeks today and have shut up shop for the weekend too!! Fingers Crossed we make it to Monday and enjoy our dinners on Sunday

Id be happy to get dinner out of the way then go. Was told by my consultant on Wed that i would be back in within 48hrs. So far sweep hasnt worked. I got so excited thinking i would have him by today and not stress about Christmas day..

Someone here is bound to have a Christmas day baby. (Hoping its not me even tho consultant kept say its a Christmas baby)..

41w today and no sign. Midwife couldn't do a sweep as he's still free and not engaging. Holding on until Monday now!

Hi all, I haven't posted before but have been keeping up since the start. Congrats on all the babies so far! I'm 40+2 with 1st baby and had a sweep yesterday (baby is in position and 'ready to go')- had mild pains all yesterday evening and this morning, plug went this morning too but I haven't really had a pain for a couple of hours now. I have had back ache and period-type pains all morning though. Wondering if this could be a slow start or just the effects of the sweep and not necessarily going to lead to anything?

I have my fingers, arms and legs crossed that none of us have to spend Christmas Day in hospital!!
Even though I'm mega uncomfortable and could do with my body back I'm hoping baby can wait until Monday at least!

Had baby KitKat weighed today. She's now 9lb 7oz, and has put on 36oz in the 18 days since I last had her weighed (so putting on 2oz a day)! She may have started on only the 7th centile for weight but she's clearly got no intention of staying there and is shooting up the centile chart!

My bloody drs are rubbish. Thrush not clearing so HV arranged a prescription and they've done it for 150mg Fluconazole one off dose. That's right for vag thrush but think it's different for breasts. Going to end up at the walk in centre in Christmas Eve.
Everything crossed that we are all home for Christmas.
I thought lo was going well with his 11oz in 9 says but baby kitkat is thriving. Well done.

Well hasn't today been a monumentally shit day 🙁

Tongue tie snipping appointment will not be until 4th January. I rang to ask for a possible cancellation, they only run clinics once a week so fingers crossed for wednesday. The lady did give some advice on how to manage him, one being an electric pump so we've bought that today.

DP and I have had a right humdinger of a row though. He said he regrets having a baby 🙁 Baby hasn't stopped crying all day. Neither of us can console him. Going out in the pram didn't help, not the car. Putting him on the breast works momentarily but thats it. Thankfully he has finally dropped off allowing me to have some dinner. Won't be long until the next round though.

Oh dear bonkers that's not nice to hear from your DP I'm sure he didn't mean it, things will be tough and I hope you get an appointment for baby's tongue sooner than the 4th

The first few weeks are so tough, be kind to yourself...... And tell your DH to STFU unless he's being positive or helpful.

bonkers DS1 had tongue tie, getting it snipped made the world of difference, he could get enough food for a start! Plus he was gulping down air trying to get milk so had bad trapped wind which was a bugger to shift. Poor sod Have some ((hugs)). Have you given him a bottle? Think they're easier to feed from which might fill him up more and help until you get it snipped? Obvs I have zero training etc so feel free to ignore me

Had HV today, likely got another sensible one this time around, although I was quite looking forward to having a horror story to share!

DS2 is feeding like a superstar bless him and has put on 21oz in 17days, may try and catch you up KitKat!

Neither of us are coping well with the lack of sleep. I did yell sat him, turns out that's really painful following a section!

He's currently changing him. I'll feed him what bit of boob he'll take and he can have a formula top up. I'm not expressing now. Then we can go to bed and hope we don't have too bad a night.
